Will Erica Kane and Tad Martin Visit General Hospital?

Now that ABC has the legal rights to the characters and the series, All My Children and One Life to Live, the possibilities are endless as to just who, or how, or when someone from these iconic legacy soaps might be worked into the current story on the sole ABC soap left standing, General Hospital!

Fans are already abuzz that Hillary B. Smith is reprising her role as Nora Buchanan beginning March 6th, but there may be more in the works!

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, GH EP Frank Valentini expressed: “Many people out there are still mourning the loss of All My Children and One Life to Live, and they still have great affection for and memories of those shows.  So if there is an opportunity to inject someone else, without infringing on the General Hospital brand, I think it’s a fun thing to do and it’s exciting for us.”

Thus AMC stalwarts Susan Lucci and Michael E. Knight were posed the question if they would consider reprising their Daytime Emmy winning roles as Erica Kane and Tad Martin.  Lucci said, “I would have to know what the storyline would be and if I ‘m in the right hands.  If they wanted me to do it, of course, I would listen to them.”  Michael Knight was enthused stating: “Why not? If General Hospital wanted me, I’d be all for it!”

So would you be up for Erica Kane and Tad Martin coming to Port Charles?  Share your thoughts below!

Bring g it on Susan and Michael, Take a leap of faith and see if you still have it. Would love to see you both.

This would be the best ever. I miss these characters.

Me too Regina sign Susan Lucci and Michael Knight to a contract.

Bringing on Lucci and Knight would add some welcome life and zest to the show. Unfortunately the article doesn’t tell us who asked them if they’d be interested. Is it anyone associated with GH? That we don’t know.

I’d do anything to see our favorites from Pine Valley & Llanvuew! Of course I’ll tune into GH but c’mon, why not bring back AMC& OLTL?

Tranny story would be blessed!!!!

YES! I want to see my beloved soap family back on the air. Frank V. will take care of them. My 1st choice would be to bring back AMC/OLTL to TV.

I would LOVE to see Michael E Knight on GH! As Tad or a new character, just get him back on daytime ASAP. Come on and make this happen!

did you see M.E.K on YR? he was great as character they made up for him. and sadly they dumped him. I was so mad. I want to see any of them come back to daytime on GH… because I know we wont be getting OLTL or AMC back on their own like Id LOVE

Vik, I agree. MEK was fabulous! I was so hoping that the new EP and head writers would have him come back. I liked him for Ashely.

NOOOOOOOOOOO stop with this nonsense…..why doesn’t ABC listen to the fans and just bring back All My Children and One Life to Live……General Hospital is a show about General Hospital…..the citizens and characters of GH and Port Charles…..not Erica Kane and Tad Martin and Nora Buchanan from Pine Valley and Llanview…….stop stop stop….this is craziness!!!!!!! GH has 50 years of history and stories, does not need more characters, especially characters from other shows to take up space and air time…..Frank V doesn’t have good stories for the characters he has now, why would he add other characters from other shows…..he needs to step down and a real Producer needs to come in and fix the show!!!!!!!

Relax dude, they are talking bout visits not them moving in, and it’s fun to see characters from these shows interact, and if these visits create buzz then who knows what could happen, ancestors/oltl could come back in some form either on hulu/Netflix, or even abc , you just never know these days, Tv landscape is constantly changing.

Amc/oltl

Love your wisdom. And yes, anything can happen.

Uh, how about Mac, Brenda, Robert, Nicholas and Stephan visiting!

I agree with you Scott. See my post below.

Scott, I hear ya, but here’s a thought. Maybe, just maybe, they’re testing the waters and if we all react positively to these “visits” TPTB might take notice and see about brining AMC and/or OLTL or possibly combining the two aforementioned soaps together to produce one soap.
I realize I am being unrealistic but there are a lot of things going in this world right now which I never thought would happen.

It’s clear that that is 100% what they are doing. It is much easier to slowly reintroduce these characters on a known canvas (GH) and see if they still have fans/get buzz. If so, they go from there. But hiring 40 people and starting production again after five years isn’t going to happen without some product testing. OLTL and AMC characters on GH is the product testing. I think we should be grateful that they’re doing this at all. To me, it shows that they maybe realize that there’s still some juice left and are willing to give it a shot. I hope it works even IF the only thing we get is snippets of updates of what our favorites have been doing off screen.

I agree with you, who knows, they could possibly still combine OLTL characters with All My children people and create a new show – it’s not absolutely impossible – maybe slightly improbable at the moment but somewhere down the road it might happen – even as a 30 minute inception, it could happen since ABC has regained the character name rights.
Never say Never ~

Why not! Like to see Spunky Nora Buchanan!

Scott, right on the money dude, this is GH!

Yes…visit…also want Dee Ryan to show up and visit Ava in jail!

With “Roger” in tow, jimh!

Yes I would love it!!

I would love to see Erica, Tad, or any of the OLTL characters visit Port Charles…but not until the show hires new writers who will give the characters good material worthy of their talents.

You still are my front runner for new head writer, Alan

Yes, I would love it! I miss these characters as if they were family. It would be nice to see them for a short visit.

I would love it too, Addison! 🙂

Hey Addy…Nashville is getting better! I really enjoyed the last two episodes…maybe do some catch-up and see what you think???

I think I’d enjoy this if the characters appeared in short story arcs, kind of like guest appearances.

I agree with you, Mister Media. Exactly what I was thinking.

0hh dear gawd…
going backwards, again..
It’s like dancing to the oldies with Erica Kane and Tad Martin , Disco baby!
Why not get brand new exciting new something different new never done or seen before new, like new stuff from the 21st century new world of media stuff..

Anyways I liked the that guy on Y&R, so cool with that..
But I’m not ready for the Queen of Camp, the diva, that’s too much campy even for me ahaa!!

but hey– It can’t get any worse so why not ..

Oh, my Suzie Q. You crack me up!! Don’t ever change!!
Hilarious line, “It’s like dancing to the oldies with Erica Kane and Tad Martin.”
Just one thing, though, su…I love the oldies–well, not disco ; just the ‘real’ oldies.

“Why not get brand new exciting different new never done…”??? LOL. That’d be…a NEW show!

We’re still trying to revive our “old” (sorry for that dreaded word) shows. That means telling soap stories as soap stories have always been told…using “old” characters and their descendants, friends, etc…and great news!!!…bringing back “old” friends from canceled soaps that many of us have missed. The same reason films and books do sequels with the same “old” characters…who have become beloved.

I’ve said this on other posts…and others have also said it above…if these visiting characters that were abruptly taken from our viewing lives generate enough interest and ratings improve, perhaps they’ll either have them recurring or think again about reviving the OLTL and AMC in some fashion..maybe 1/2 hour, weekly…who knows. They’re testing the waters now that they have the rights back to the characters. It’s great for those of us who loved these people to have them come back to life. I just hope they’re written as they were and not so unfamiliar that they become ruined which is what happened when they did the horrific online attempts. Didn’t even resemble the ABC version.

They need to be careful with Erica. She’s not a GH character and made All My Children what it was. Don’t want to ruin her character with some stupid storyline. And just what Frank Valentini said about messing with the GH brand. I do think she and Scotty could get something going on! He could be her 11th husband or however many she had!

Good point, Joe….as we have seen happen with some ‘strong’ characters such as Tad Martin, as we knew him. He was sooo whitewashed on Y&R.

Yes, indeed. I didn’t realize just how much I miss these people until I watched Home and Family on Hallmark Channel, the week Susan Lucci co-hosted and they brought back so many of the actors from AMC. It was wonderful!!! Made me feel so good to see everyone 🙂

While I’m sure it would be fun to intermittently have visitors come to GH now and then, the extremely rich history and characters of All My Children and One Life to Live will NOT go away. Agnes Nixon created something very special. The alphabet network needs to stop beating around the bush, admit and correct its huge mistake. Merge All My Children and One Life to Live into a single one hour program. They can take over the production facility that Prospect Park built.

And can it be titled #AllMyLife

Llandviewer 717 and Robbie– I LOVE this idea, and I LOVE the title!!
Works for me.

I like it robbie. How about All My Life to Live? Tell the powers that be to start production!!!!!!!

Yes!!!!! Robbie, you’re a genius.

Cancel GH, and bring back OLTL on ABC.

That’s the best idea ever Llanvierer 17 !!!!!!!

The character of Erica Kane doesn’t fit the vibe of General Hospital at all. And the show doesn’t need another goofball character like Tad Martin — they already have weird Finn and weirder Franco. Enough already.

Erica could come on in a limited arc revolving around Crimson.

Tad and Ava would play well in a short term plot as well.

Tad and Ava! I like it !!!!!!

Yes, yes!!! 1000 times yes!! I started watching Young and Restless just to see Michael E Knight in his temporary role. To see him again as Tad… YES!! I miss AMC so much.

I’m with you. Love MK.
Why Y&R let him go, he was great with Ashley.
I would watch him in anything.

OMG This would be awesome wow heck ya

For a short run to augment some current GH storylines, I wouldn’t mind it at all. You’re talking some iconic soap characters here, who wouldn’t want to see them drop by Port Charles, provided as Frank said it doesn’t infringe on the GH brand. If it would make the AMC and OLTL fans happy to see some of their favorites again, and if it benefits GH, I’m down with the idea.

Right on! 100% agree.

Sign them up NOW!!!

INDEED! All for it! 😉

Miss the soaps ,Miss the actors Would love to have a reboot of my growing up years.

Does anyone at ABC stop to wonder why Y&R is so popular? It’s because they are giving their fans what they want…LEAD stories involving their core family characters who have been there for generations. GH lost that with the past 2 writing teams. They’ve flooded GH with characters that GH fans are not invested in and taken away good LEAD stories from most of the favorite GH characters.

It’s gone on to the point where GH is not even GH anymore. They’ve got to stop this idea that bringing on characters from other shows is somehow going to bulk up the viewership. They need to WRITE for the GH characters that carry on the legacy of GH and STOP with adding more characters that belong from other shows. This is supposed to be GH, not a variety soap show.

Nice post! Totally agree

I don’t watch GH but am a faithful Y&R viewer. I totally agree with your comment.

My first reaction to this article: What will loyal GH viewers think of this? They may not have followed OLTL or AMC and may neither know (or even care) about those characters. A soap needs to stick with its landscape and its established characters, not veer into other areas (without a defined plan to invest in it).

I liked ATWT very much through most of its run (loathing the last five years). I was sorry to see veteran ATWT characters go as their show got the ax. I’d love to see them again in their OWN setting. However, I would be irked if Genoa City suddenly filled up with the Hughes, Stewarts, etc. at the expense of Y&R characters being shoved to the background.

As someone who hated to see ATWT trashed by bad writing for years and then cancelled, I totally get the feelings of AMC and OLTL fans: They miss the characters and want them back on the screen. However, shoe horning these characters into another show is NOT the answer.

No, no, enough already!! Does Frank Valentini truly not realize that he long ago infringed and quite possibly wrecked the “General Hospital brand”?? Frank should explain himself: In 2017, what exactly is the “General Hospital brand”? The show is so far removed from its glory days of the early-mid ’80s (or even the late ’90s) it’s hard to believe that it’s the same show.

Imo, he and those two past-their-prime female head writers are doing a poor job coming up with interesting stories that move along for the characters the show already has, especially the vets. The show does not in any way need even more characters/actors from other soaps (especially cancelled ones) and newbies that fans don’t care about taking away valuable air time!! It’s utterly ridiculous!! Time for him to go and get some fresh blood in that can actually fix and refocus this show back to its roots before it’s too late.

I know that AMC and OLTL are missed by many people, but many times, it’s just far better to let things rest in peace. GH doesn’t need to be any more of a dumpster fire than it already sadly is.

It’s just a visit, Pat.

Absolutely, Pat! I’m especially not interested in seeing that goofball, Tad—a supposedly grown man in his 50’s still walking around with an arrested development name!

ABC will bring back One Life To live next year, and they will cancel the Chew. The chew sucks big time.

I would watch La Lucci read the phonebook!!!!

Susan Lucci is a goddess, I would let Susan read me a bed time story lol.

Absolutely not! There are way too many characters on GH now as it is with not enough screen time for any of them. I agree that ABC should just bring back AMC and OLTL instead of trying to squeeze more into GH. In the long run it will backfire.

Absolutely, Carol, keep GH as a separste entity, as it should be, by using its own vets……but, bring back AMC and OLTL, in some form; as described above by Llanviewer and robbie.

Bring back OLTL on ABC, Have it on for 30 mins.

This would be great for a hospital story. Erica could be booked to speak at an event and her bus is in Ana accident. We all know that Miss Kane does not like being in the hospital. Talk about chaos and temper tantrums………this would be fun. Now Tad would be a great diversion for Nina. I also think David on the scene with Ana would be great considering their history. What is there’s a third Ana child (Leora) is alive and been in David’s mad science lab.

I’d be happy if all the characters came back. I don’t see why ABC can’t bring the soaps back since they nave the rights back. Here’s hoping.

That’s very short-sighted when they don’t have room for their own vets on the show. Bring back Wally Kurth, Tristan Rogers and Ian Buchanan on contract, full time, with story then we can consider guest appearances by some of these other non-GH characters. Honestly, I’d rather see Emma Samms or Jack Wagner do guest appearances because I’m sure they cannot do full time, contract work and they are a bigger draw to GH fans.

And if these actors don’t accept such a deal then fine, but I’m sure at least two of them will accept it. The entire FV excuse for not being able to give fans what they want and require is that there’s not enough budget. And I’m sure a guest appearance by Lucci will not come without mega-dollars attached to it.

It’s negligent, at best, when they’ve got icon Genie Francis on maybe twice a month with her love interest and GH vet played by Jon Linstrom. We hardly see their love story developing. They are beginning to take vets like Kristina Wagner and Jackie Zeman off the year-round backburner so there’s slight improvement which I applaud but I don’t see Lynn Herring much outside of the Nurses’ Ball and I don’t see John York outside of weddings and funerals. I really feel those improvements are due to Jelly and not Frank at all.

Let’s remember GH is also known for stars like Rick Springfield and John Stamos, the latter which RC got into a terrible public argument with during the 50th anniversary resulting in his not appearing on the show so we don’t need to rely on non-GH big names as a draw. I’m not saying I need to see those big names whether GH affiliated or not. I’d rather use the actors who’re more dedicated to GH and with current ties on the show. It’s not like it’s the 80s and we can get Elizabeth Taylor to play Helena Cassadine. Let’s be realistic and save money for story purposes and actors that can strengthen the core GH families.

I’d love to see Genie F get more air time. But Sonny/Carly each get three days a week and at least three scenes and as many as five scenes each of those days.

I’m good with reducing that tedium by half and giving other folks – but especially Genie – the air time.

I agree. Sonny needs to be backburnered at least for a while to give us a break like we had from the Jason character. At the very least, they can put both Sonny and Carly in supporting roles. I’d prefer Sonny go all the way to 3rd string and see what happens and how we can incorporate him back in.

I just don’t think Frank and Ron realized how much work they had on their hands to fuse Classic GH with Guza’s GH WITHOUT bringing on any new characters from other soaps. The audience was going to freak out a bit from the fallout of the old and the new mixing; no need to pile on the angst with characters from other soaps. But that’s exactly what they did. Then they brought back and made historically evil characters all of a sudden characters we were supposed to root for with Franco and Julian. It’s just too much for the GH audience to handle. They really to sit down, do a viewer poll, and see what’s worth saving of their changes since 2012.

Well put, JMER! I loved Susan Lucci as Erica Kane and would never mind seeing that character again, but as a rule, NO! We do not desire for GH to be turned into some sort of hybrid supersoap….it was once tried and not met with great success. The emphasis needs to be put back to those legacy players that you have very succinctly suggested.

Visit, if done snd it works into the storyline. Stay, no!!

YES ! bring lots of guests thru GH just to show ABC that the love is still there, and they bring back both shows.

Susan Yes, Michael No. However would love to see Jill Larson go over for either a short role as Opal or maybe recast her as Betsy Frank. That would be a sight to see.

Yes Yes I love Jill Larson as Opal, bring her to GH.

For me, the only real Opal was Dorothy Lyman! Her portrayal as the tasteless, OTT tacky Ms. Gardner put the capital t’s in the words “Trailer Trash!”

GH needs to take a smart approach to this gift they have been handed. First, they need to trim the current cast by 10 characters or so (I can think of that many easily). Second, they need to introduce 2 or 3 AMC characters and 2 or 3 OLTL characters as regulars and integrate those characters into Port Charles over the course of the next 6 months. Once the AMC and OLTL characters are part of Port Charles and have built friendships/relationships, the show can then use those characters to allow other characters from those shows to visit for short arcs. For example, the show could introduce AMC’s Colby Chandler as a love interest for Michael Corinthos or OLTL’s Matthew Buchanan as Kristina’s ex-lover. This would make visits from Liza Colby and Marion Colby Chandler logical and give Bo and Nora Buchanan a reason to be in town (and Matthew’s Uncle Clint could also drop by and perhaps open a division of Buchanan Enterprises in Port Charles). AMC’s Olga Svenson could help Nina book models for CRIMSON and suggest former Sensualle Cosmetics spokesmodel Erica Kane’s granddaughter Miranda Montgomery for a cover. By keeping the show 2/3’s GH vets and 1/3 AMC/OLTL favorites, the show would benefit from fans of the cancelled shows dropping in (and possibly staying if they see what they like). Of course, the key to this is not just using the characters because they are available but using them in ways that make sense.

I’d love to see any of the characters from OLTL and Jessie and Angie or Tad and Dixie from AMC. Cady’s main squeeze, Jon Lindstrom, is already on GH. Just don’t ruin the integrity of GH.

@Elise…..”Just don’t ruin the integrity of GH?” Sadly, that ship already sailed a long time (and far too many stunt castings….) ago…..

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should…

As much as we may love the actors and characters from other ABC soaps, I don’t think that GH should incorporate any additional such characters onto their already bloated cast.

I think we are better off remembering the beloved AMC and OLTL characters as they were. Besides, my formerly favorite soap, GH, would taint these characters. GH is known for stunt casting, followed closely by casting aside the actor. The 50-year anniversary of GH brought quite a few former stars to the show, only to put them out to pasture in due time.

Just look at the fiasco presented by introducing 3 OLTL characters into GH since the demise of OLTL. Because of legal issues, the characters had to be removed. Then the actors (Kristen Alderson, Roger Howarth, Michael Easton) were reintroduced to GH as new characters. It just became too messy and farcical. The writers had to become contortionists to plot the changes. And can anyone keep up with all the characters on GH played by Michael Easton?

In addition, let’s not forget: when these ABC shows were running concurrently, there was ratings (and other) competition among them. Sure, they were a part of the ABC “family,” but the competition to achieve higher ratings, Emmy nominations, and buzz was palpable.

Let’s just have some respect for our former shows and not bastardize them any further…

Brother…as usual, you are THE VOICE OF REASON!!!!! Thank You. And, as far as I’m concerned, your SPOT ON POST is further proof that GH is nothing but AN UNWATCHABLE JOKE!!!!! BEYOND DUMB AS HELL!!!!!

As always, have a good one, Brother.

Peace.

Thank you, Jay! Glad we’re on the same page! No surprise there… You’ve made my day! Take care, Brother!

Ahhh, “Gentleman James!” What a simply elegant adage you have employed here…it truly well applies to the situation at hand!!! I cannot add anything more to your extremely sensible and insightful comments, other than my sincerest compliments and a hearty round of appreciative applause!!!

Thank you, Shay! I appreciate your kind and generous words. I’m really not worthy, but I am grateful… You’ve made my day! Take care, Friend!

ohhhhh…sweet baby James…I disagree! well, sorta. I guess, selfishly, I could care less about AMC characters as that wasn’t one of “my shows” in a really long time. And while I do agree, and have repeated this often, that I want to see more GH characters like Scott, Lucy, Monica, Ned, Rick, Laura, Kevin…I also welcome seeing some of my favs from OLTL (as long as they don’t ruin the characters they were, which is the challenge.) I’m hoping if there’s enough interest it might inspire some sort of revised soap…a weekly or a half hour…something, depending on ratings, of course. In the meantime, as long as OLTL characters don’t replace GH characters and make sporadic visits, I’d love to see them again!

Thank you, Rebecca! You’ve made my day!

It’s great to get your take on this. I think where we are in agreement is what you suggested: “they don’t ruin the characters they were, which is the challenge.” I also like your idea of the inspiration for a revised soap. I wonder whether that is possible…

And “sweet baby James” wants you to know that: You’ve got a friend! 🙂

Oh James…it wasn’t you who walked into the party like you were walking on to a yacht, was it??? I know you’re not so vain… LOL! Now sing with me!!!!

Yes; let’s hope the visits translates to numbers which could revitalize something…as always…we shall see!

Hey Rebecca!

I LOVE the music references — you have no idea! Thanks for all that. Please take care, Friend!

Oh, but you are MOST worthy, not to mention, quite welcome, James! I’ve lost count how many times not only I— but others, as well—-have stated exactly those same sentiments, and repeated them six ways from Sunday, yet you managed to succinctly and logically enumerate the perfect reasons why this notion should be abandoned once and for all. If that doesn’t warrant my unending praise and undying thanks, than nothing ever shall! You told it like it is, my friend….now take that well-deserved bow to which you are more than due and have a great day!!!!

Dear Shay: You have me smiling — and blushing… Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. You’re a class act! I promise to check in more regularly so that I can enjoy your opinions as well as those of the other terrific members here. Please take care, Friend!

You are deeply welcome, James, and thank you for your very kind words, as well!!! Please do visit more often….you have truly wonderful insights regarding the soap world, both in today’s rather diminished state and yesteryear’s more extravagant circumstances….I always enjoy your vivid recollections and well-reasoned thoughts as presented from someone who knew and loved the genre when it was at the peak of its popularity and prominence. Your posts are a true treat! Later, my friend. Take care!

If anything there have been comments about GH not doing enough with their vets and core legacy. And I’m so loving Tracey, Monica, Olivia and the rest of the Q’s idea to buy the hospital ….fits right into what I think Edward might have done. And solves that nagging left-alone-story, about the clinic Michael was going to build in AJ’s memory.
So instead of “diluting” GH anymore with more characters, no matter how memorable or not, like to think our OLTL and AMC friends have been on a long vacation, and are coming home again. Don’t mind a few dropping into Port Charles on their way back to hopefully at least 1/2 hr shows of their own again, picking up as best as possible main themes where they left off, with new material being added to reflect the now.
The bonus to ABC is that you will have new-again, forgiving viewers in an otherwise tough afternoon schedule.

Would be great. Rose, to reprise these characters in some way. Not sure if buget allows…I think they’re testing the waters to see if ratings go up or down with the visits. It’s probably also an olive branch to millions of ABC fans who had to deal with not one, but two, soaps being ripped from them suddenly.

I think it’s a great experiment and I welcome seeing some of my OLTL characters. With that said, I maintain the right to withdraw my enthusiasm if they ruin the characters or negatively affect GH.

Hope you’re doing better!

Rebecca… I guess I was hoping they had already wasted enough budget money trying to “improve” the daytime schedule….how many shows have come and gone. Now that they have OLTL and AMC back from Prospect they could restart something with a known quantity, characters, and viewer, maybe 1/2hr each, good writers…who knows. One can only hope. Otherwise ABC afternoons are a bit of a wasteland except GH which has some good stories going on right now.

Am home now, feeling much better. Thanks for asking. Greater respect for healthcare professionals no matter their contributions. Too bad La La Land isn’t just the name of a movie though. 🙂

Hey Rosey! LOL…sorry! Had an urge. Ahem. Hi…Rose!

Haven’t seen La La Land yet but our “leader” of Legoland is cutting funding for the National Endowment of the Arts. Hope that doesn’t affect Poldark and Outlanders…Can you believe this is even up for discussion? The “billionaire with gold gidled walls in numerous houses is costing taxpayers millions of dollars to fly back and forth to Florida to tweet from there every weekend…while he’s “saving” money by cutting health care and funding for the Arts. Yeah. As Seth Myers said (in a hilarious parody press conference interview with the prez)…”we’re f’d.”

I would love to see characters from other soaps we loved visit. I don’t know about long-term unless the circumstances were right, but I love the idea of visits. When “Delia” was revealed to be “Ava’s” mother, I thought that was fantastic! And I love it when they reference other soap towns. It keeps the soap community alive for me. So I say bring it on!

I Think They Should Have Angie And Jesse. Angie Could Work At the Hospital And Jesse Could Work At The Police Department.

GH was not an Agnes Nixon serial. I would like to see ABC resurrect OLTL and AMC or perhaps a hybrid of both as they share the same DNA and were very similar in tone. I am not sure I want GH to become a stage for short stints and cameos, even by beloved actors and characters. The Port Charles cityscape is so crowded with talent and people, the show seems to lose its focus, and become difficult to enjoy fully.

That would be the day I stop watching. I couldn’t stand All My Children & there’s a reason it took Susan Lucci 19 tries to get an emmy, she’s awful. The writers do write for our own veterans why bring on others from other shows?

And yeah, lets have Joe Namath play quarterback for the Jets again! ITS OVER! GH is GH, AMC was AMC and OLTL was OLTL! Keep these people off GH! PLUS, the writers they have on the show right now would FLUCK everything up!

Time to cancel General Hospital, bring back AMC AND OLTL.

And dont forget disco!

Of course. Especially Michael.

Please don’t ruin the AMC brand or tarnish fond AMC memories by bringing Erica or Tad to General Hospital. Rather, create new characters and storylines that people want to watch on GH.

OLTL is my all time favorite soap and I can’t wait to see Nora show up on GH, But Tad Martin is my scarecrow. I miss him the most and would do just about anything to see him and Michael E Knight again. I truly hope that Frank Valentini is serious and not just toying with us. If they bring Tad back, it needs to be in the right way and not just a hit and run fly by cameo thing.

I don’t mind crossovers but I never liked Erica Kane so I wouldn’t want to see her revived anywhere. Now Nora? Can’t wait!

These two need to come to GH. they are always bringing on people from one life to live like that is the writers favorite show. We need Dr. Hayward too since he and Anna have so much in common and were married once. Then kendal would also be great. if Adam was still around he would have been wonderful to be on GH but he passed and surely missed.

Starting on May 1, All My Children fans in Canada will be able to see classic episodes of the beloved former ABC soap opera when they stream on Pluto TV Canada.

Pluto TV picked-up the All My Children Channel that the Nixon family has created in partnership with BEONDTV +. The show which aired for 41 years on ABC and ended on the network in 2011, had so many memorable storylines and characters; the least of which is the enduring run of Erica Kane played by soap icon, Susan Lucci.

As previously reported, starting with episodes from the year 1995, which was the 25th anniversary of the soap. Pluto TV Canada viewers will be able to catch 8 episodes on repeat per day. With the success of the venture, the Nixons are hopeful that they will bring viewers many more years of the show to come.

Sarah Nixon, producer, shared with Michael Fairman TV exclusively, “We are thrilled that Pluto TV has launched All My Children in Canada! Let’s hope the engagement from our incredibly loyal fans across the border will encourage ABC to bring it to the U.S.!  We share what Aggie (Agnes Nixon) always felt, that it is the enthusiasm and love from the fans that has kept this legacy beloved and relevant – to this day!”

In addition, 0ne week ago, during Susan Lucci’s visit to Los Angeles promoting her book La Lucci, she was joined by her former Pine Valley castmates, Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee, AMC, now Taylor, B&B) and Eva LaRue (ex-Maria, AMC) and the trio posed for a pic. Saul Consuelos, the father of All My Children alum and Live with Kelly and Mark co-host, Mark Consuelos (ex0-Mateo, AMC), has died. During an emotional moment on this mornings, April 6 edition of the syndicated talk show, Mark shared, that his dad, “passed away peacefully” back on March 23 following a long illness.

His wife and co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) paid tribute to her her father-in-law expressing, he was, “the greatest person I’ve ever known. I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will. He really is so symbolic of everything you are.”

Kelly and Mark’s children, Joaquin, Michael and Lola Consuelos are said to be taking this extremely hard. Ripa added, “This is the first loss they’ve ever experienced in their lives. And I said, ‘By the time I was 8, I had no grandparents. You got to grow up (with grandparents). You got to have deep, meaningful conversations (with them).”

In another moment, Mark reflected on his dad. “It’s funny, I used to make a joke about my dad … if you asked him what time it was, he would tell you how to build a watch. There were a lot of lectures, a lot of lectures and I learned so much. If he was fixing something in the house, he’d make me watch and do it. And I didn’t know at the time why he was doing that. But now at the house, I’m able to do at least half of the stuff that he did. I learned the most by just watching him.”

Mark added that Saul Consuelos came to the U.S. from Mexico in his early teens and served our county for decades, detailing, he “Ended up at Special Operations Command in Tampa. This young kid from Mexico just got his education from the navy. Was always going to school. Was brilliant. Got his Masters while I was a kid.  He loved his country so much, If you’re going to put a face to an immigrant, he would be the prime example of what this country promises people.”

In a very heart-tugging moment, Consuelos shared that now its important they be there for his mother, Camilla. “We gotta take care of mom. We’re trying to convince my mom to move to New York. She’s such a character, she’s stubborn. What do you think, a cooking segment here on Fridays with Camilla?”

Now below, watch the very touching and emotional moments as Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa mourn the loss of Saul Consuelos.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Visits ‘The View’ Where Hosts Sidestep Controversial ‘Buffy’ Reboot Axing, But Talk ‘All My Children’

On yesterday’s March 17 episode of The View, All My Children alum, Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart), was the special guest. Since Monday, Gellar has been the subject of a hot-button issue since about the surprising turn of events that the highly-anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, in which she stars, and which was directed in the pilot by Oscar-winning director, Chloé Zhao, was no longer moving forward.

Gellar‘s appearance on the ABC morning talk show was devoid of any mention of Hulu cancelling its planned Buffy: New Sunnydale, in which Sarah was set to appear along with Ryan Kiera Armstrong. However, Gellar did discuss her new movie Ready or Not 2: Here I Come from Searchlight Pictures.

It should be noted that both Hulu and Searchlight Pictures are owned by The Walt Disney Company, while The View is produced by ABC News, which is also owned by The Walt Disney Company.

During the awkward interview, when it became clear the ‘Buffy’ reboot topic was off the table, The View co-host Sunny Hostin, talked about the “intense fight scenes” that have become a staple of her TV and film career starting with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scream 2, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

The ladies of The View also brought up Sarah’s beginnings on All My Children as Kendall Hart (1993-1995), showing a scene with her and her on-screen mother, the iconic Erica Kane, played by Susan Lucci. The discussion sprung out of another All My Children alum, Michael B. Jordan (ex-Reggie Montgomery) winning the Oscar this past Sunday for Best Actor for his role in Sinners. The View’s Joy Behar was quick to point out with Gellar, the All My Children alums that have gone on to great fame.

Previously on Monday, Gellar opened up to PEOPLE about being blindsided before while at the SXSW Film & TV Festival premiere for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. “I got the call as we were stepping onto stage for the premiere of their own movie. And it’s also the weekend of Chloé going to the Oscars as a best director nominee for Hamnet. For them to call us on the Friday of what should have been Chloé’s victory lap for an incredible film, and my world premiere of something that I worked very hard for is… that says something.”

She went to say, “We had an executive on our show who was not only not a fan of the original, but was proud to constantly remind us that he had never seen the entirety of the series and how it wasn’t for him.” Deadline reports that “multiple sources” identified the executive as Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich.

“I loved the duality that we had with this new, younger slayer who was where Buffy was when the show started, and then we would pick up with where Buffy was now,” Gellar told People about the setup.  However, according also to Deadline “After the pilot was completed and delivered, according to multiple sources, Hulu’s main note was that it played too young, with some indicating that the streamer also felt the show was too “small.”’

In the rewrite, sources also told the outlet that the writers did not take big enough swings, so they set out to do a rewrite it again. The last revision was more adult, featuring a lot more of Gellar’s Buffy, and was described as a more of a streaming show than a network one. When all is said and done there is hope that another Buffy IP will be up and running within the next couple of years.

You can check out Sarah Michelle Gellar’s full segment on The View below. Now let us know, bummed there is no Buffy reboot?
