Winsor Harmon Bombshell: "I Just Spoke With Brad Bell And At This Time He’s Decided To Recast Thorne"

In the category of “What the hell is going on?,” in a shocking statement on Twitter Saturday, longtime B&B cast member, Winsor Harmon, has revealed that he has been informed that the role of Thorne Forrester is being recast from executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell.
Winsor tweeted: “Just spoke with Brad Bell and at this time he’s decided to RECAST THORNE. I wish the new actor and the show continued success.”
While there has been no official statement on the casting switch, or decision to look for a new Thorne from the CBS daytime series itself, this bit of news has come as a shock to longtime fans of the show who have watched Harmon’s Thorne on and off the canvas since 1996.
Thorne has been rarely seen on the canvas in recent years after Harmon was taken off-contract in 2010, and who last appeared in major story involving Thorne back in 2015 with the death of his on-screen daughter, Aly (Ashlyn Pearce).
Fans have been miffed at the tweet, not understanding why the show would recast if the character is rarely on the canvas, or if this move means the show plans on bringing the character back with a new actor to infuse certain upcoming story a different way.
So, what do you think about Winsor’s announcement of the recasting of Thorne on social media? What do you think of the decision to replace him? Comment below.
This news is a thorn in my side: pun intended. Also intended is my disgust at this decision…
Every time Winsor and Lesli Kay are featured in a story, this soap shines! The ratings go up, the maturity level increases, talent soars, and viewers are happy. Thorne and Felicia are two characters that should be in the thick of things always! They are dynamic, they have lived, they can drive story, and they aren’t part of a tired 30 year old yo yo love story. I don’t get why soap execsmore often than not do EXACTLY the opposite of what fans want. That type of arrogance is off putting and it comes across on camera.
Really??? Thorne and Felicia where completely boring. The Borrester kids, always complaining that daddy left their mommy, and the crazy antics they pulled to get their old horny father back into Stephanies bed. It was stupid seeing two 40years old acting like little children. I never saw any purpose in the character of Felicia. I do like WH as Thorne, but he didn’t age all too well and he was never really leading-man material.
Thanks for the backup, Jovin! Excellent points!
“I don’t get why soap execs more often than not do EXACTLY the opposite of what fans want. That type of arrogance is off putting and it comes across on camera.” — Sadly, what you describe is the modus operandi at GH.
Amen, Jovin!
This may have something to do with age. According to imdb, Winsor Harmon is 3 years older than Thorsten Kaye. In the storyline, Ridge is supposed to be the older brother. The producers may feel that in an extended storyline, the age difference will be noticeable.
The producers may also be trying to up the show’s ratings by bringing in a more popular actor to take over the role.
But they don’t have a problem with Thorsten being several years younger than KKL when Ron Moss is about 15 years older than Thorsten. There was absolutely no need for a recast no matter what the story.
On DOOL Kate is about 7year older than her daughter Billie. Oops! LOL
Exactly!
In soaps it doesn’t matter about age. They’ll age young characters into teens and keep others the same age. Plus you see people play parents of children and they aren’t that much older.
I should be surprised but sadly I’m not. Just another bad decision made at B&B.B&B is the worst soap on the air IMO. They bring on the horrid nuSpetctras while writing out the wonderful Avants & Caroline. They recently brought back Linsey Godfrey only to completely denigrate her character. Her dialogue was a complete WTF. Not a single word based on story we actually saw with our own eyes.
There is no real love on the show. Their idea of “love” is puddle deep. Characters literally fall in & out of love in a single episode. Nothing resonates because nothing matters.
The hyped up return of Sheila is straight up cartoon.
I agree with you Denise. What a waste of a wonderful talent. It’s the same song they have been singing for years. They did the same thing with Daisy and Marcus. Once they gave them a story they dumped them. They haven’t shown the Avants in ages. When Zende kissed Maya at the fashion show, I thought they were going to turn that into something. But instead cthey just swept it under the carpet. The same thing happened with Nicole bonding with her “niece”. Another good story possibility gone to waste so they can focus on Bill and his lies and his greed. I get tired of watching Shelia and Quinn fighting over Eric.
I totally agree with you, I don’t even watch when the Spectras are on.
Now Liam taking over for Bill what a joke, and you can see him and Sally on the future.
Bring Bill back more powerful than ever. If the show keeps going like it’s going that will be the end for me.
As for Thorne being replaced, to bad, he wasn’t in it much but he was Thorne.
When I read Winsor’s tweet, I was shocked. Even if Brad has plans to bring Thorne back into the story, why couldn’t he bring Winsor back for that? Winsor has a great rapport with everyone, from vets like McCook and KKL to newer actors like Thorsten Kaye. I just don’t get it.
why ??? how stupid !! thanks for the memories Bold and the beautiful . Time to watch another soap and dump Bold and the beautiful for good ! In protest and for those of you who have become sick and tired of Bold and beautiful i recommend watching Days Of Our Lives on Nbc instead ! this is what many friends of mine will be doing .
Makes no sense
Very disappointed! Such a talented actor too who should have gotten a big story years ago! Wow.
For heaven’s sake people, it’s about money. Soaps are dying (you just refuse to accept it), and they cannot afford to pay 20 year veterans when they can get somebody off the street for half the price.
AMEN!!!! WELL SAID….
I agree. These days what few soaps are left are being held together by safety pins and shoe strings. You are absolutely right me when you say soaps are a dying breed. These days, starting cheap and working your way up is the only way to go
Winsor Harmon himself was hired to replace another actor as Thorne.Back when Harmon was hired i think B&B said they wanted to take the character of Thorne in a new direction. So maybe that’s what they want to do again now.Plus i thought it was nice Brad Bell at least told Harmon that they were going to recast Thorne and not have him find out some other way.
Brad Bell really does need to be pushed from his position at The Bold and the Beautiful. Winsor Harmon is Thorne, and he is always up for going there to be Thorne. I think the decision to recast is dumb and it won’t go over well. When Ronn Moss left the role of Ridge, it should have been the perfect time to bring Harmon back as Thorne full-time, and it could’ve been a great storyline.
C’mon Bradley, stop making these dumb decisions. The Ridge recast worked, but recasting Thorne is dumb, especially since Harmon is willing and able to come into the role. Let us hope that Harmon can go to another soap, then!
Unacceptable!
Sounds like when Thorne returns, they needed someone more bold and beautiful!
Such a shame. nuRidge doesn’t work, so they think they’re going to fix it with nuThorne (well Thorne 4 I guess).
Focus on the next generation of characters rather than de-aging the first gen.
They should have characters of ALL ages doing exciting things and those things don’t have to be tied to romantic relationships. These people can start new businesses, stumble into mysteries, end up in a surprise legal battle, etc.
There’s more to life than having a wedding every week! Look to any UK soap to see how to do it.
Prolly a certain co star doesn’t like him…. Hes ok a recast might add some interest
This will be the 4th Thorne when WH came on I was a little hesitant because I was use to the previous who knows what is going on he has always been supportive of the show and I am pretty sure he was well liked. The new one will probably speak Scottish and not bathe be scruffy etc.
Well he is Ridge’s brother. Monkey see monkey do!
Well, you were pretty darn close on the mark with your prediction, k/kay….just a bit off with the accent…..seems it shall be “Aussie!” But seriously, Thorne must be the most cursed soap role know to man….the first actor was unceremoniously dumped for Jeff Trachta’s singing son of a Forrester, then he was later let go and supplanted with Harmon who has now just gotten the similar shaft! To say this current recast is a seriously odd one is an understatement indeed, but then it certainly cannot top that of Ron Moss’s Ridge being replaced with that shambolic Scotsman, er, Irishman, whatever….that was an epic fail to be sure!
Ingo is a handsome devil but let’s see if he can drop the Aussie accent? Hey he is a lovely person I adored TK on One Life I just think Brad has always been lazy and self entitled. I think he hurts people and I resent that I never picked up on WH accent I think he is from Louisiana but I do know that no one has been more loyal even when he has been off screen and only two years difference in ages and I think he looks younger. So Thorne picked up a accent in Paris lol
I know I bitch on here a lot of the time but I truly will mis the soaps when they are gone like losing a best friend hope they hold out no matter how crazy they get
@k/kay…Of course, Ingo cleans up well! His Jax always looks perfectly groomed and properly attired….I guess I was just envisioning him on B&B as “Surfer Dude Thorne!” Lol….But I meant no disrespect to the actor, although I do feel for Harmon despite my quitting this soap after Trachta’s exit….In fact, one of my friends still watches the show and she always liked Windsor in this role. so I don’t think she’ll be too jazzed with this recast…However, I don’t view it as an impending incredible disaster like TK’s Ridge was and is! As for this particular soap surviving, I’ve always felt as though it had the best chance to be the last one standing—for a variety of reasons—-but the others, particularly Days and GH, do seem to be hanging on for dear life. Having said that, I do remain rooting for Port Charles to stay in existence for the foreseeable future regardless of my oft-stated deep disappointment in its development in recent years….I’m waiting to see if Steve Burton can bring back a bit of the old magic that used to be a hallmark of this once great show…Lastly, sending my best wishes to you and your dear sister…it’s so nice that you can still share these soap ties that bind you, in addition to what must be your truly devoted relationship. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. And thanks for taking the time to comment and reply here…your remarks are always really priceless! Later….
Sick of all the recasting, cutting contracts, and just flat out firing the people we watch the shows to see act!!! Too much of this going on with our Soaps!!!
To be fair Thorne has been off a long time Jack Wagner /Nick was supposedly BB’s friend and where is that guy???
On Hallmark playing golf good man who has turned his life around good for him!
This soap is ridiculous! Where are Deacon, his son, Amber, Felicia…? Please, fired Liam, Wyatt, Steffy!!! They’re killing the show with same stories. Scott Clifton is a very bad actor! I would like more often Rick! Jacob Young is fabulous! He’s missing. Steffy’s show doesn’t work. What a shame!
They needed Rick, Amber, Deacon, Thomas (Pierson Fodé please… and Thorne!
No one over the age of 50 is valued anymore! I guess they need someone younger than TK to be Ridges little brother. And why does Ridge who was born and raised in California have an accent?
There goes senoirity right out the door! This show is ridiculous.. Storylines are a joke and the same repeated flashbacks weekly. Maybe the new Thorne will be on for 3 episodes and then sent back to the corporate office until they need him again.
What certain upcoming story is Michael Fairman referring to? Inquiring minds want to know!
Not surprised at all. I always hated Winsor’s hick accent, which would surface all over the place – Thorne is supposed to be a well-bred man who grew up in a Bel Air estate, but Winsor could never shake off his own dialect which sounded rural.
He also sucked when it came to keeping in contact with his fans on Facebook unlike other veterans such as Katherine Kelly Lang and Hunter Tylo who really made an effort to respond to fans on Facebook back when they had profiles there. Winsor just took everything for granted.
I agree that nuRidge is a far cry from Ronn Moss and his “Euro trash” accent really gets on my nerves as well – but I think Thorsten Kaye is a better PERSON than Winsor is at least.
wow…are we negative???? dont watch….
Well, the accents of both actors are just stupid.
TK is a complete miscast. WH was not back in the day. I never liked singing Trump Thorne. He was the most boring character is soap history.
WH was great during the Brooke-MAcy-Thorne-Kimberly era. But after that his performances lacked some depth.
Hick accent? Euro trash accent? What are you even talking about. Not that I am into trashing people by accent, but even I know enough to know that not every southern accent is a hick accent…the hick stereotype is someone an accent so thick speaking English badly due to poor education and no class. NOT Windsor Harmon. Euro Trash are skeevey continental European diletantes of means but no substance, Thorsten Kaye’s accent is solidly middle class and Irish. What the heck are you even on about, besides bigotry? Come on, now!
Kind of split down the middle on this one. The only thing is whatever they do: Please don’t do any stunt casting!!! I would rather see a relative newcomer or just completely write off the character.
LOL! So much for not stunt casting the role!
TRULY D-U-M-B, B&B!!!!!!!!!!
Well as my sister says why are you recasting a character who has not had a story since when? Ronn moss was 35 when he started on the show he is 65 now we can’t just wave a magic wand and de age folks! Let it go always liked Thorne but they have not used him in years and you know what it will be a bust Brad is not his father
KKL I respect her but she is what 55 let’s deal with it we get old move on
I wanted to love the show again but I can’t good night sweetheart it’s time to go!
Please don’t be upset ,, Thorne was only on the show maybe once or twice a year,, they will recast but he still won’t be on the show,, lol,
Would love to see Thorne back on B&B. Would also love to see Winsor as Thorne. Winsor himself was a recast Thorne. Don’t really understand this decision. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
I think long time cast members shouldn’t be recast. Why can’t he go back to the show as always. What is B&B doing
Nail. In. Coffin. Really miss the old B&B. Today’s spin is just nonsense. I feel no sense of true corporate intrigue in the fashion or media business. And the near-incestuous relationships that build and fall in the matter of days has become tiresome. I very much enjoyed Mr. Harmon as Thorne and his take on being a bit of an outsider in his own family. One would think he would be a player in the return of Spectra. Missed chance. Earlier post mentioned Lesli Kay. Another fine actor lost to us. I miss a complete Forrester family.
for this show to be of any interest. core characters from long term familial. would get that. I for one wouldn’t waste my time… the rich and deserving with fashion . i’ll take a step back.
just make Macy alive.. and in walks the new couple to bring this show some core value.
Bobbie Eakes and Windsor Harmon. and soon after that… Jon Hensley to dance.
Bobbie Eakes, I will never forget how much I took to her on AMC. what a surprise.
I’ve posted this so long ago.
how tired to continually feature Ridge , Brooke, and more of… oh and Bill and that other one Katie.
enough
the younger set continually to stink on shit
the only 3, I know I like : Quinn, Wyatt, and of course, Eric.
THIS SHOW should be – ( all about ) Rick and Maya – period
Another stupid casting decision by Brad Bell, he’s made many of those lately. The show is boring unless Sheila is on, B&B is the worst soap on right now.
Windsor is and always has been hot, I’ve always crushed on him. I wish him success beyond B&B, he deserves it!
Ingo Rademacher is the new Thorne.
I prefer Winsor, but we’ll see how it goes.
Oh gawd – as long as they Keep him out of the clutches of Brooke and Katie.
I see a definately with Quinn.
every ONE – up in arms – SOS
“the powers that be” here this !!!!!
DO NOT – DO NOT
pair him with the hag sisters – Brooke and Katie are not his type.
He has already been married to Brooke and
dated Katie. I liked him with Katie.
I like Winsor, but I also liked the actor who played Thorne before him.
Someone said ” As long as he does not get with Quinn or Katie”; Thorne
has already been wirh Katie, and I liked them together. I did not like her
with Bill or Ridge and I definitely do not like her with Wyatt.
Boo on Thron recast. Poor choose. Howard you going to explain his accent. Bring back aol old thron and give him more air time. It was bad enough when you poorly replaced Ridge.
I like the original cast of Thorne Forrester, played by Clayton Norcross; everyone since that point really hasn not portrayed him like the original cast. Why Clayton Norcross left, I don’t know; just as Ronn Moss, original cast portrayed Ridge left the show. There is no one like him. I think Ronn left due to he wanted more money and Brad Bell wasn’t willing to give it to him. A producer can always replace a character, but how well he replaces it really isn’t up to him, it’s up to the audience! I never really liked anyone after Norcross. Norcross and Moss portrayed the brother rivalry very well; compared to Thornton Kaye and Winsor Harmon. Now the only original cast members are Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and John McCook (Eric), since Stephaine (Susan Flannery – original cast ) was written off.

Tuc Watkins (ex-David Vickers, One Life to Live) continues to be booking role after role, and now comes word that the Llanview soap alum has joined the cast of Escorted, the upcoming comedy series from and starring Ted Lasso and Shrinking star, Brett Goldstein.
According to Deadline, Tuc has signed on for the production of the series, where he will play the role of Neil, who looks like a cowboy. However, here’s the catch! Neil is a trainer at a high-end gym and a male escort to wealthy woman on the side. Shades of Llanview’s David Vickers, for sure!
In the premise of Escorted, a divorced Manhattan dad, played by Goldstein, accidentally becomes a male escort in a romantic comedy about sexual dynamics, keeping secrets, and whether real intimacy can ever be bought.

Y&R’s Victoria and Kyle’s Love Affair to Kick-Off; Amelia Heinle Says EP Sally McDonald Shared Why; ‘You’ve Got Chemistry’ with Michael Mealor

A day many fans of The Young and the Restless have been dreading, and others are down for, is here. Beginning with the Thursday, August 27 episode of The Young and the Restless, Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) will have sex taking their growing attraction to each other to another level.
But why is Y&R heading down the path of an older woman/younger man, Newman/Abbott, former love interest of Victoria’s daughter Claire (Hayley Erin) and all the complications with longtime waring families? Because to the series, it will generate story to come.
Two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Amelia Heinle revealed to TV Insider, how she found out what she suspected that the powers-that-be were setting up a romance between Victoria and Kyle.

Photo: JPI
“At one point a while back, I noticed Kyle was always coming to talk to Victoria or we’d run into each other and I told Michael, ‘I don’t think they would ever put us together, but this is kind of funny because it feels like they’re trying to test our chemistry, which would be really, really odd,” recalled Heinle. ”
“But that memory passed quickly. And then I walked off set one day after finishing a scene with Michael and I got called up to our executive producer, Sally McDonald’s, office and she said, ‘We’re giving you a romance with him.’ And I’m like, ‘Who?’ And she said, ‘Him,’ and she pointed at the monitor because Michael was still on set. I was like, ‘Oh, OK. Are you sure?’ And she was like, ‘Uh-huh. Yup. You’ve got chemistry.’”
Once she learned the news, Heinle talks with Michael Mealor to make sure he was OK with the romantic story turn. “I walked up to him one day on set when I found out and said, ‘Do you know about this yet?’. Hw was like, ‘Yeah,’ and then I said, ‘So, are you OK?’ And he said, ‘Are you OK?’ And I said, ‘I’m good. I think we could make something out of this,’ and he said, ‘I do, too. I plan on leaning into it all.’ So, we were in agreement. Michael and I have always gotten along. We’ve always liked each other.”

The storyline was started by now former Y&R head writer Josh Griffith. So now that Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor are in place as the new co-head writers of the top-rated soap, things could change dramatically or go full steam ahead.
Heinle offered up, “It’s not going to be boring, that’s for sure. I feel like right now with the new writers coming in, it’s a work in progress. I feel like we’re seeing how it goes. They’re fully committed to it, but nothing is set in stone in terms of the story yet.”
So, where do you stand? Do you want to see Kyle and Victoria rip the clothes off of each other, have sex and have a torrid affair? Do you think it’s wrong for Victoria to be sleeping with her daughter’s former boyfriend? What side of the fence do you land on with this pairing? Let us know via the comment section below.

Dolly Parton Remembered: Y&R Alum Alyvia Alyn Lind Shares Heartfelt Tribute to the Legendary Singer and Songwriter

The world is in mourning on Tuesday, August 25 with the news of the passing of iconic and beloved country western singer/songwriter/actress Dolly Parton. The 11-time Grammy winner crafted and performed memorable hits such as “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” 9 to 5″, and “Here You Come Again, ” to name but a few.
Parton died in Nashville today. She was 80-years-old. Not only was Dolly an iconic name in the world of music, she was also an actor, producer, playwright, theme park founder (Dollywood), and a noted philanthropist.
One of the people lucky enough to know and experience the life of Dolly through a different lens was Alyvia Alyn Lind, the one time Faith Newman of The Young and the Restless. Lind played the role of Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) daughter on and off from 2011-2021.

ALVIA ALYN LIND PLAYED A YOUNG DOLLY
However, it was Lind, who portrayed a young Dolly in the television movie adaption of Parton’s song and book “A Coat of Many Colors” in 2015, and its sequel in 2016 Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.
Parton and Lind shared a close bond following the project, famously performing a touching, emotional duet of Parton’s song “Angel Hill” together on Hallmark’s Home & Family.
Taking to her Instagram just a short time ago, Alyvia paid tribute to the one and only Parton, expressing, “I am truly at a loss for words. There are some people who come into your life and leave a mark that can never be erased. Dolly was one of those people. will forever be grateful that I had the privilege of knowing her, learning from her, and carrying a piece of her with me through such an important and formative part of my childhood. Getting to play Dolly changed my life, but getting to know her changed my heart. Memories, lessons, laughter, and a light that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”
Alyvia added, “The world will never be the same without her, but that light will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to experience it. Thank you for believing in me, for teaching me, for letting me be a small part of your story, and for being such a meaningful part of mine. Rest peacefully, Dolly. You will be missed more than words can ever say. Thank you for everything. ❤️
FAMILY ANNOUNCES THE DEATH OF DOLLY PARTON
Parton also starred alongside Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dabney Coleman in the smash 1980 film 9 to 5, and later roles in films including: The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Rhinestone, Steel Magnolias, Straight Talk, and Joyful Noise.
Parton’s death was announced via her official Instagram post by her nephew, Bryan Seaver on behalf of the Parton family. He shared the news in a video statement. You can see that below.
