WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW: John Cena Gets a Little Helps from His Friends in His Final ‘Raw’ Appearance

Last night, on one of the best WWE Monday Night Raw episodes since its debut on Netflix at the beginning of the year, John Cena made his final New York City, and final ‘Raw’ appearance in the GOAT’s incredible career as his farewell tour would only have two more stops before he says and means it,  “You Can’t See Me … anymore in a wrestling ring.”

Cena kicked off his last ever ‘Raw’ from the greatest arena of them all, Madison Square Garden, to a red-hot crowd, chanting “Thank You Cena!” in yet another emotional moment in this incredible final run. City after city takes your breath away and just how beloved the 17-time champ truly is.

As for what would go down? Cena did would not disappoint the audience, when he was interrupted by Dirty Dom Mysterio, who wanted a rematch to win back the Intercontinental Championship he lost to Cena, just a few weeks back. Mysterio brought Judgment Day back-up, and in the end the two made their rematch for WWE Survivor Series on November 29th. However, when Cena was attacked by Finn Balor, JD McDonagh and Dirty Dom, out from the back came help in the form of Sheamus and Hall of Famer, Rey Mysterio!

Immediately a six-man tag team match began, and there was nothing better than watching a triple “You Can’t See Me” and their combined 15-Knuckle Shuffle, from Cena, Sheamus and Rey Mysterio and the absolute delight watching the trio deliver Cena’s signature moves in unison.

The celebrities were also out in full force including sitting at ringside including; Andrew Schulz, Eric André, Brandon Marshall, Gabriel Iglesias, Sam Jay, AZ, Lin-Manuel Miranda, The Kid Mero, Chris Bauer, New York Giants players (Cam Skattebo and Abdul Carter) and Philadelphia Eagles players (Cooper Dejean and Dom Disandro) .

In a “What were they thinking?” moment, Dirty Dom, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh got into a ringside scuffle with Schulz  shoved Mysterio which prompted Skattebo to get involved and start a brawl. NFL fans know that Skattebo just had season-ending ankle surgery. So, we are not sure how kindly the NY Giants GM will feel about one of his star players getting into a pro wrestling ringside brawl?!

WWE ‘Raw’ also featured the return of Dolph Ziggler in the John Cena Tournament to earn the right to face “The Greatest of All-Time” on December 13th on Saturday Night’s Main Event streaming on Peacock. Ziggler was a crowd favorite. but ultimately lost his bid to Solo Sikoa. Later in another tourney match, it was the return of Gunther who faced the upstart Je’Von Evans. And it was the latter, who showed what an incredible in-ring performer he is, who had the crowd rooting for him to defeat the ‘Ring General’. In the end, Gunther choked out Evans and will move on.

There was even a title change at MSG’s ‘Raw’ when with a distraction from the returning AJ Lee, Maxxine Dupri was finally able to defeat Becky Lynch and win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Much to Becky’s chagrin! Next up, are we getting AJ Lee and The Man at Survivor Series?

As ‘Raw’ came to a close, it ended with an epic face off between two former Heyman men, Brock Lesnar (although Lesnar is back for the moment with the Wiseman) and Roman Reigns. That moment rounded out 5 on 5 WarGames teams, which is now a star-studded affair. The heels featuring: The Vision (Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed), Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre and now Lesnar against the babyface team of CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and The OTC.

What did you think of John Cena’s final ‘Monday Night Raw’ match and in New York City? Excited to see that Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns have joined the WarGames line-up for the main event at Survivor Series? Do you think Dominik Mysterio will win back the IC title from Cena, in Dirty Dom’s hometown of San Diego, California at Survivor Series as well ? Share your thoughts via the comment section. But first take a look at some of the highlights from not-to-be-missed edition of RAW below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.

This week on General Hospital begins with the ABC soap opera’s 16,000th episode which brings Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) back to Port Charles after being released by the WSB; all thanks to the deal made between Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Z (John Oliver).

On the same episode, the upshot of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) coming face to face, and seeing each other for the first time in months plays itself out, and it may not be how you think. Josslyn hopes sending Valentin to the side of Anna, will break up his burgeoning relationship with her mother, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), but will it?
