Y&R Alum Sasha Calle Shares First-Look as “Supergirl”
The former Lola Rosales of The Young and the Restless will be headed to the big screen this summer. As previously reported, and had been announced, Sasha Calle landed the role of Supergirl in the upcoming motion picture, The Flash.
With the key art and just released trailer for the film, fans have their first preview of the story and of Calle in the role. The Flash drops on June 16th.
Sasha took to her Instagram to share two posts to her friends, fans, and colleagues with much excitement, in the first she wrote: “This is so so wild! It’s so beautiful and exciting to finally share this with you all! I have fallen deeply in love with Supergirl. Getting to know her and feel her has been one of my greatest honors. This moment is so so special. I love you all. SHIT. MY HEART! If there’s anything Supergirl has taught me, it’s HOPE. Anything is possible. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!! I will forever be screaming “WHAT DID YOU DOOOOO!!!” JUNE 16. We’ll watch it together like we did today. Congratulations to every human that has worked on this film. Again. I love you. Thank you. x WOOOOOOOO!!!!! #TheFlashMovie”
In the second post, Sasha shared: “I love you, Supergirl. Go get ‘em! x”
Y&R fans will recall that Calle came to the soap opera when the show was expanding the Rosales family in 2018. She later earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2020 before later exiting the series.
So, are you looking forward to seeing Sasha in “The Flash”? Comment below, and make sure to check out our interview with her on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmys a few years back, where we can all say, “We knew her when”. Congrats Sasha!

I’m so happy for her I hope it’s a HUGE success ! Y&R treated her and the rest of the Rosales family dreadful! The jealousy and the back biting on that show is exactly why I could care less about it when they finally showed who they were I just stopped caring one actress over there I still care about and they have her pouring coffee.
Kay…And “she who pours coffee” was married to Ray, another casualty for the Rosales family.
Isn’t it strange that Genoa city has no Hispanic families! Why were they so threatened with us starting another working class family like we use to have with the Williams family I was not crazy with every thing Mel Young did but I thought their was potential with the Rosales family plus I like Jordi I thought he was treated badly among the others so yes I hope she hits it out of the ball park . Pretty gal decent actress. The character of Nick has had 5 who is the Daddy storylines enough already
Yes!!! 100! Michael Mealor had those puppy dog eyes when he was with Lola, she often stood up to him. She also had great rivalry with Summer over Kyle. I loved when Summer gave her organs to Lola and blackmailed Kyle! There was a classic rivalry going there. Mia also was just in the middle of a hot who’s the daddy with the Rosales bros while hiding her crime over putting Lola in the hospital but about to blackmail Rey from putting her in jail. Now we got a stale Sally who’s the daddy story. But like everyone s posting backstage drama, jealousy and lack of skill when Griffith took over got them all fired and Lola was also sidelined.
Damien…Speaking of Sally Spectra…I have always liked her when writers allowed her to show her stuff. And then Diamond Bill ruins it in B&B so he can build a monument to his ego. And now Victoria and Victor in Y&R fire her when she was CEO of media (hope title is correct) because she and Adam were an item, and I think jealousy, even though she and Chloe were doing a great job. So for me two interesting, feisty characters…Lola and Sally are gone or under used so they can keep “stale” storylines going on with legacy families.
The only time I liked Kyle( as played by Michael Mealor) was when he was madly and hopelessly in love with Lola. How adorable was he when he met the feisty and beautiful Latina in her food truck? And something came alive in this actor which I have not seen since-a pure wash of adulation washed over his features when he looked at her. He never looked at Summer that way ( no matter what actress was playing her). And how ironic that Nick called Lola’s nemesis,” Supergirl.” Look who turned out to be the real Supergirl!
Oh Harry love it I was so sick of super girl I could throw up! And no offense but JM has only two moods mad or goofy when MY was still there you do realize JM threw a temper tantrum and got two enormous sets it’s childish behavior and I got totally sick of it! It’s ok just happy to know I’m not the only one tired of the silliness and it has nothing to do with Personal it’s just tiresome ! We watch a show to escape not to get dragged into politics opinions etc just want to watch a show
I might add Jordi was nothing but gracious and DD and EB attacked him for no reason why are you threatened by a new family to come into town widen the scope that part I loved about MY he was going outside the box ! You preach about diversity until it concerns your air time then you start back tracking . Anyway i just can’t watch anymore I hope enough complaints and they will totally get new everything until then I guess I will read recaps ! Take care
Thank you, Kay. You make excellent points. I miss The Rosales family. My one complaint is that the family was introduced too quickly before viewers’ emotional investment could be realized. And the arrival of officer Rey Rosales came on the heels of Paul William’s unexplained fade away so viewers unfairly blamed the actor who played Rey for Paul’s disappearance. And just as quickly as the Rosales family was introduced, they disappeared. Just as I had grown to appreciate and like them.
Harry…Yes, I don’t like the new Kyle. Even his BFF/wife forever is having trouble with him. Really liked his romance with Lola. And admired her entrepreneur spirit with her food truck and chef talents. But if truth be known, I would rather play Supergirl if I couldn’t get the role of Wonder Woman. :)))

I adore Calle. She’ll make a great Supergirl, a whole lot better than someone else with that nickname. I didn’t realize the personality and fysty nature of this gal until I saw her interview with Michael. Am not a fan of Kyle, he’s so wishy-washy. First he wants his mother back so bad and now he doesn’t seem to be able to trust her relationship with his father.
Never will watch anything with Erza Miller
Who is Erza Miller??
I dunno but as God is my witness, I will never watch anything with that Ezra Miller ( who has nothing to do with Y& R) ever again! As God is my witness!
I will never watch anything with Erza Miller, the pedo thief with no charges.
Nor will I! Not EVER!!!! Sing it loudly!!! But, ahem, is it okay if I cheat a little and I rewatch,The Perks of Being a Wallflower? Ezra was so good in that!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
