In an about face on the Tuesday, October 13 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, after Zende (Delon de Metz) agreed to stay at Forrester, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Eric (John McCook) came down hard on Dylan (Sydney Bullock) telling her she’s fired for trying to help Katie (Heather Tom) poach Zende (Delon de Metz) from the fashion house.

Zende steps up and comes to Dylan’s defense, and reminds Eric that he said he could have what he wants, and Zende tells him grandfather, “Dylan stays!” While this is playing out, over at Logan, Katie and company are mulling over Zende turning down their offer to join the company.

Back at the Forrester CEO office, Zende defiantly says Dylan is important to him, and she needs to stay and work here. However, R.J. (Brayan Nicoletti) chimes in that she should be fired. Then, Zende asks Eric just who is making the decisions around here? It seems to Zende, everything they just discussed was all smoke and mirrors.

REQUEST DENIED

Suddenly, after his request is denied, Zende gets angry. He realizes the common thread in ‘Hope for the Future’ being backburnered and Dylan getting fired is all about this being “R.J. and Electra (Laneya Grace) domain.” Zende announces, “My last name doesn’t matter.” With that, he quits.

Next, Zende thanks Eric and Ridge for being wonderful mentors and holds the door open for Dylan as they exit the office. Now in the design office, Dylan thanks Zende for his support, but she doesn’t want him to quit because of her.

“This has been building for a long time,” acknowledges Zende. He is over the nepotism, and the company BS.  As he and Dylan head for the elevator to make their exit, Eric shows up to stop his grandson. “We need you here. I need that. You’re the next generation of Forrester,” says Eric.

WALKING OUT THE DOOR

However, then came the piece de resistance in another compelling and Emmy noteworthy scene from Delon de Metz. Now standing his ground against his grandfather, Zende will not allow himself to be swayed and stands his ground, with tears in his eyes and all the back-history you can muster.

Zende in tears tells Eric, “This doesn’t feel like the place for me anymore. “I’m gonna miss you, Granddad.” Eric tells Zende he loves him, as Zende hugs Eric, that quickly switches to pulling it together and walking out of the family business.

Delon de Metz, who with last Friday’s episode, where Michael Fairman TV named his work the Power Performance of the Week, combined with this closing scene on today’s airshow, should give the actor plenty of material to compete in for the Emmy statuette in 2027.

When Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton, The Bold and the Beautiful) was announced to be nominated this year at the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards for not only Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Drama Series, but also as part of the nominated Writing Team from the CBS soap, it was a big moment in his life and his career.

As many know, Saint-Victor has been a veteran of soap opera since back in his early days as Remy on the now defunct Guiding Light. Fast-forward to some 17 years later since the conclusion of GL, and Lawrence is nominated in a year that is a breakthrough for Black performers and creatives behind the scenes in the soaps, which for decades was never the case in daytime television.

With the advent and launch in 2025 of the first Black-led hour-long daytime drama, Beyond the Gates locking down 15 nominations going into Emmy night on October 30 and a host of other writing and acting nominees, the tide seems to have shifted. It’s something Saint-Victor hopes will continue for years to come.

THE TIDE HAS TURNED

Speaking with Ebony, Lawrence shared on his dual nominations, “I’ve sat with those thoughts and feelings for some time, thinking about what these nominations mean to me, especially as the first Black man in daytime to be nominated for acting and writing in the same year.”

Saint-Victor is nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actor alongside: Sean Dominic (Nate, Y&R), Mike Manning (Smitty, BTG), Michael Graziadei (Daniel, Y&R), Roger Howarth (Matt, Y&R), Timon Kyle Durrett (Bill, BTG).

On his journey in soaps, Lawrence explained, “So many Black men and women, both in front of and behind the camera, pushed the door open and kept pushing so that I could walk through. They fought to be seen, heard, and given an opportunity. I don’t take for granted that I get to stand on the other side of those doors now. And I believe it’s my responsibility — as well as the responsibility of my brothers and sisters in this industry — to keep pushing. That feels especially important to me as a writer.”

MORE WORK TO DO FOR INCLUSIVENESS

Lawrence added, “Representation can’t exist only in front of the camera. Our perspective and our experiences need to be present in the work too. Our experiences are not one thing. Black people are not one thing. We are romantic. We are funny. We are angry. We are heroic. We are flawed. We are sexy. We are vulnerable. We are complicated. We still have a lot of work to do, but we have also come so far.”

Win or lose, Lawrence believes this will be a moment for inclusiveness, celebration, and to inspire: “The fruit of the fight to be heard is coming to harvest. I am a leading man in a leading story on my show, and I’m also a writer on that very show AND I stand on the shoulders of giants. Our voices are being heard. I want to make sure that continues.”

This week on all new episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful airing October 12-16, official spoilers and the video preview for the CBS soap opera indicate that this may be the turning point in several personal and business relationships that there is no coming back from!

First, as Daphne (Murielle Hiliare) seems to finally being settled in on how Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) went ahead and became the surrogate for her and Carter’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) child, she calls Carter ,”My loving, loyal husband.”

Carter, who concocted this plan as much as Steffy protested, assures his wife, “This is all going to work out. For all of us.” Of course, he is hiding the fact that Steffy is already pregnant with his child from their drunken one-night stand.

HOW TO LIE TO YOUR HUSBAND

In the meantime, Finn (Tanner Novlan) surprises Steffy when he returns home from his medical business trip earlier than expected. He tells her he wants to now everything he missed while he was away. He adds, “You can share anything.” For weeks, Steffy has been coming unglued between the deceit to her husband, and feeling forced into this surrogacy plan from Carter.

Steffy already knows Finn was completely against her being a surrogate for Carter and Daphne’s child. How will she even explain this to him that she went ahead and had the “procedure” to become pregnant? How can she even keep her marriage in tact with this entire lie?

DECISIONS DECISONS

At Forrester, Eric (John McCook) begged his grandson Zende (Delon de Metz) to reconsider jumping ship to Logan. However, Zende knows Electra (Laneya Grace) wants Dylan (Sydney Bullock) fired for coming to them with the news that he was going to work for the rival fashion house.

Zende tells Eric and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) that if he agrees to stay, Dylan stays too! But what will Eric and Ridge do with this demand? Do they value Zende enough to do what he asks? Stay tuned.

SISTERLY RIVALRY

Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) confronts her sister, Katie (Heather Tom) once again when she says, “I’m more certain now than ever that you are out for revenge.” Hope (Annika Noelle) is there and looks befuddled what to do as she is caught between her mother and her aunt, who is now her employer. Katie just shoots a look at Brooke that she is ready to take her sister, and the entire Forrester Creation dynasty on.
