Love It!!!!!

I like that Y and R continually updates their opening yet keeps it classic while giving the actors credit. GH has done a disservice to actors and characters by having them whizz past in an abbreviated 12 second intro. And Days Of Our Lives totally needs a new opening. The opening sequence of a show should be somewhat indicative of the tone of the show and Days opening is dated, old fashioned and not relevant. They can keep the theme but jazz it up to be uptempo and contemporary. They can keep the hourglass…but as the sands begin to fall…that can zoom in on character/actor clips. Like As The World Turns used show clips as pieces of the world….the grains of sand could actually turn into shots of the actors. Tbe 50th year anniversary would have been the perfect time to unveil an exciting dynamic new opening as this show struggles to stay on the air. I get Ken Corday likes the traditional aspect of the show….but it needs a refresh and to give some homage to the actors.

Theme saves it but it reminds me of when i have been sedated and see all that cloudiness around things…i hate being sedated!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice update. Very classy.

It seems that only the women are given props in their opening credits: diamonds for Melody Thomas Scott, candles for Christel Khalil, champagne flutes for Eileen Davidson, roses for Melissa Ordway, and whatever that was for Mishal Morgan.

IKR?!

MM got a spotlight.

Oh, it’s fantastic ! Very modern, still within the great soap opera style -;))

Other than Michelle Stafford’s legs still in the opening, LOVE IT!!!

Perfect Love it #YR !!

Great–and it’s about time!

It’s about as boring as the recent storylines!

Always the best opening tittle sequence in daytime..OLTL was 2nd!!

Agggghhhhhh!!!!! Too similar to Bold and the Beautiful. And I don’t really like that they ended it with “the mystery woman”.

Is that Michelle Stafford in the dressing gown? The mystery woman you mention seems to have the same body type as Stafford and she walks like her too.

Love it. Can’t wait to see everyone else.

Beautiful!! Love that they still plan to keep the music

A few characters such as Daniel Goddard could be eliminated from the list. He is a lousy actor, just can’t see him in a romantic role with a woman.

He’s definitely grown on me. But like so many characters, he literally has no story or a story so tiny it’s meaningless. (Ashley did nothing these last three years, Abby is down to nothing, ditto Noah, Jill finally has a story after an Ashley-length time in the wilderness, anyone remember Kevin….)

kind of blah…same ol same ol….like the storylines right now…..i’m trying really hard to make it through an entire episode without fastforwarding, but find it so difficult. I know I told myself to give it six months to see what Sally could do with the show…but it is sooooo boring right now….not one sl keeps me interested….i’ve even started watching Days again, which has slowly improved and awaiting the head writing of Ron Carlivati…..do something soon, like bring Sheila Carter back and have her wipe out the entire town…..or even Daisy and Ryder…..something, please!!!!!!!!

you know maria arena bell was the best writer for that show , it had action with big story arcs that kept you entertained . viewers want these type of stories with that pace and rhythm nowadays . i loved when ashley was gaslighted by adam , when diane was killed , the ricky williams story , sharon skye the volcano and sharon on the run , harmony ( debbie morgan ) and genevieve ( genie francis ) , love the patty and emily identity thing especially when emily ended up in the psychiatric hospital instead of patty , fans complained about sharon and victor but bill bell did eric and brooke , jill and phillip , jill and stuart .

Lol. Um…sorry to say…you are definitely in the minority on loving Maria Arena’s work. I will give her some props though. I loved some of her early work! Bringing back Patty finally….with an amazing actress and imaginative writing was soap brilliance. Except for killing Colleen….I loved every part of the Patty saga. And she finally brought back Nina’s long ago son. Many of her plots started out promising but then devolved into crap! By the time she was gone, the show was a complete mess. And to all the viewers who complain the show is now “boring”….you need to keep quiet!! This IS the classic soap you have been clamoring for. This is CHARACTER DRIVEN storytelling….and that is a catch phrase everyone asks for on soaps. When Bill Bell wrote…the show was mind numbingly boring most days….until he was writing a climax of one of his notoriously drawn out storylines. Sally has been a breath of fresh air! Characters act like real people again! Not everything is life or death. Every scene is not played for constant misery. I love that characters have multiple story threads and relationships. I love random charaters meeting at the bar and catching up. I think Lily and Sharon should become besties….because Shaaron and Lily’s late mom were. I am a lifelong Sharon/Nick endgame believer…..but why not try Sharon with Neil while Nick diddles Chelsea? A mature redemption story would be bracing to watch. I love that Sally writes basic human life……without rape and murder and baby switches and children dying and couples constantly divorcing. I like watching a big budget sweeps disaster story….explosions, storms, trainwrecks, serial killers etc. They bring a sudden energy to a show. But soaps are not that….never have been that….and never could be that. When it is normal, beloved characters placed into occasional extraordinary circumstances…it is thrilling to watch.

Love! It’s great!

Love love love it! They should have it for there new opening

This is good. I always love it when a new opening sequence shows up on any of my soaps.

I like it.

I thought they were going to get rid of Michelle Stafford walking, but I guess not.

Very nice!! The credits needed a good updating!!

i m so many episodes behind i wont catch the new opening on tv so thanks for posting it online!
y n r has been a chore for months now…. nick/ chelsea is gross, dylan bailing on his family because some b level petty thug knows his identity is laughable, lily and cane is always horrible unless lilys catfighting with hilary.. get rid of devon and cane and get lily and hilary to fight over billy! jason thompson can make anything work..except co-parenting reed against victoria which was a dud from the beginning. speaking of billy , why hasnt chloe been sniffing around since he may be bellas real dad?!.. her and kevin were boring the 4th time around.. the eight time is too much. and lastly the contimued waste of the amazing eileen davidson now with some techie is just criminal…. eileen give it up and just return to days who always appreciates that you should be the star of the show!

I’m with you. Lose Devon (the least likely billionsire) and Cane. Love your idea of Lilly and Hillary fighting over Billy .

Nice!

ahaa! I had to share this..
I peeked in at work and Heather saw it and said;
They look like Vanity Fair Ad Models .. lol

((I asked- you read magazines? and she informed me the mags are in downtime lounge))
Now, when I see the opening I’m going to see a Vanity Fair ad….. hmm but for what? perfume? ahh Liquor (they drink, every day lol)

LOVE THIS! Great way to further the painted look of the iconic Y&R logo! Brava, design team!

I’m excited about it, and I don’t even watch Y&R! Props to Mal!

I can’t understand the ‘excitement’ over a new opening..
It’s just a different opening .

ahhh perhaps a newer opening will raise the ratings? lol ..

Anyways, it looks better ..

So glad they updated opening credits, FABULOUS❣

Like it overall, but yeah, it was way past time to get rid of the walking mystery woman (Michelle S). Puzzled as to why they kept that element, doesn’t really go with the new look.

Plus, she’s on another soap.

Like the glamor, respectful of hardworking, classy, diverse actors…kudos on the newly refreshed yet classic opening.

i’m watching the 2/14 episode on line and the opening is the old one. what happened?

Mark, I think the new opening started on 2/15

The new opening debuted on Valentine’s Day.
