Y&R Producer Mal Young Posts Steamy 'Extra' Clip Package For Valentine's Week Featuring Three Hot Genoa City Lovebirds!
It’s Valentine’s Day 2016 on Sunday, but The Young and the Restless is going to carrying the Valentine’s Day theme throughout the week!
CBS Daytime previously released and posted their weekly promo for the sudser, which is entitled X’s and Oh’s. In that promo, Y&R fans see clips of the beginnings of some sexy romps featuring: Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil), Devon (Mishael Morgan) and Hilary (Mishael Morgan), Billy (Jason Thompson) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle), and Adam (Justin Hartley) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan).
However, Y&R producer Mal Young took to You Tube late last week and posted a short “extra” clip package utilizing romantic and sexy moments between Noah (Robert Adamson) and Marissa (Maria Pernas), Adam and Chelsea, and Devon and Hilary. The steamy package is cut to lines from the verse of the iconic, “My Funny Valentine”, while illustrating love between two people.
Watch the video after the jump. Then let us know, what do you think of the way Y&R is packaging their Valentine’s week with romantic and lusty moments for some of your favorite couples? Steve Kent Reportedly OUT as Sony Pictures Television VP in Charge of DAYS and Y&R
On Friday, reports surfaced that Steve Kent, Senior Executive Vice President of Programming at Sony Pictures Television, is no longer with the company and overseeing the Sony soap operas, Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless.
According to Soap Opera Digest, a set side source reported that Kent’s last day was last Friday, April 12th, which was one day after what would have been his final appearance in his Sony VP role at the Days of our Lives 15,000th episode on set celebration.
During that ceremony, Kent gave a brief speech giving kudos to DAYS for its incredible milestone. Days is a co-production of Sony Pictures Television and Corday Productions, while Y&R is produced by Bell Dramatic Serial Company in association with Sony Pictures Television.
Kent started his soap opera career as a producer for CBS’ defunct Capitol and then as the supervising producer of NBC’s Santa Barbara from1984 to 1993.
At Sony, before his role overseeing the soaps, Kent was Senior Executive Vice President of International Productions for Sony Pictures Television International department.
If reports are true, the question becomes who has taken over his position, and would oversee DAYS and Y&R from the Sony side? Share your thoughts on this developing story via the comment section below.

Y&R’s Hayley Erin Previews Her Role in Horror-Thriller ‘New Life’
Steamy! Lots of red lingerie..
Wishing Villy got a stripped down love scene like this.
I’m over those couples. Chelsea and Adam, Devon and Hilary, Billy and Victoria, Marisa and Noah….Zzzzz! The writers need to shake this cast up, and create new couples. Oh, and bring Courtney back because Noah and Marisa are horrible.
Me, too, for the most part. And it makes me kinda sad, especially because
Adam and Chelsea were my favorites for so long. I used to like Devon and Hilary
together, but they were kept apart so long and get so little screen time, that now
I am just not thrilled anymore. And I love Jason as new Billy, but he and Victoria
together already bore me. I would like to see Mariah with someone, and Ashley
with Neville. And Noah not with Marisa. Dont see the chemistry and she still seems
too worldly for innocent and sweet Noah.
Y & R Can bring all kinds of couples on but nobody can beat Chelsea & Adam (Melissa Claire Egan & Justin Hartley. I don’t give a rat about the rest of it. How about a cure for Ashley & her hooking up with the doctor, Someone give Victor a heart for his son Adam, enough of the computer spy problem, more of Mariah & Sharon and daily doses of Adam & Chelsea.
Adam and Marisa have amazing bodies BUT I dont think ANY of them = fire, passion, sensual heat and sex appeal!
Pratt is obviously trying to turn young and restless into Melrose place. #cheapthrills #nodepth
Hi Richard..
No! Melrose had much much better sex stuff..
Our soaps have robot sex …. lol
Not so steamy….same old, same old. The again, other that stepping over the taboo line, what else can be done? It was OK….just working with how much rope the actors are given.
Let’s also keep in mind that these ‘characters’ have significant others and they are not in ‘technicolor’ movies.
Best body? Lily’s!!!!
PS….forgot the guy’s body. I give my vote to Adam.
The way you have the “couples” framed above is a whole lot more interesting than actually watching them on my screen. It looks like that match game. I love seeing Noah in the red dress and Marisa with all those muscles and tattoos. Ha! Ha!
Watching Cane and Lily go for round 4999 again is like a quote from one of my kids’ books about Skippyjon Jones “snore, snore, snore some more.”
Chyrstie:
I love your posts and so often agree with them. Yes, Lily is forgiven for sleeping with Joe not once, but twice. Not only that, she treated Cane like utter crappolla–turning him into the police when she found the gym bag full of money instead of just asking him about it and forbidding him to see his own children during Halloween.
AND THEN! Cane catches her in Joe’s bed (again) and that clueless, spoiled and aging Valley Girl has the unmitigated gall to ask him in that sullen and bitchy tone of voice,”Cane, what are YOU doing here”?
I hated how the entire Winter’s family acted like Cane was being unreasonable when he was unable to forgive Lily 2 minutes after catching her in bed with Joe yet again.
Now, Lily is back to acting like the little coquette utilizing that fake, insipid, flirtatious tone of voice which pierces the core of my audio processing system–you know the voice of which I speak–don’t you?
Bleh!
I sure do, Harry 1. Here we go again. 🙁
Cane needs a new woman or I would even settle for a man. Poor guy has been through enough.
Yes, Harry! Amen to that! *Applause*
Hey Chrystie,
Cane go gay…LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! I mean…that would really stick in ‘Lily The Loony’s’ CRAW…LOL!!!!! Yep.
Later, Chrystie.
I am SOOO sick of all the sexual acts being protrayed constantly. The story line is rediculous. FIRE YOUR WRITERS!!
hi Dorothy Dillman..
Three cheers for Dorothy
HIP HIP HURRAY !! HIP HIP HURRAY !! HIP HIP HURRAY !!
you tell ’em! I’m with you!
Su00, you seem confused. I thought you liked the new Y&R writing team while detesting the new GH writing team.
Speaking of hips, the good news about robot soap sex is that no hips are broken or fractured while in the process.
The bad news?
Some feel feel that the sound of clacking or clanging is a bit of a turn off to some viewers. A little WD40 can go a long way with robot sex. I think there is a commercial for that.
Yup, su. The scenes are all the same…stupid music…mouths agape, eyes closed…touching a shapely thigh here and there. I get it, su. As I said, they can’t do much more. So, yes, just cut it out altogether, or at least cut it DOWN; as Dorothy says.
Also, hard to get all warm and fuzzy for half of these couples when they were busy doing the horizontal mambo with OTHER partners not too long ago. Yuck!
It’s a very old fashioned montage, with the boxes, like 24 did 10 years ago.
Oh my cable was out now I have to get ck out Devon and Hilary finally getting back together again! Yea!!!
I don’t want to be a prude or wet blanket, but daytime TV should not generate or promote soft core porn…
Hey James,
I get what you’re saying, Brother…AGREED!!!!! And as far as I’m concerned, Daytime TV (in general) pushes the ole ‘envelope’ enough already. Just saying……….
As always, have a good one, Brother.
P-e-a-c-e.
Thank you for the backup, Jay! I think it is dishonorable to appeal to the prurient interests of viewers. With the eroding ratings of soaps in recent years, the envelope pushing has been overwhelming, and these envelopes are sending out the wrong messages.
Peace to you, Brother, as well…
I agree, James. I guess that makes me a prude, as well. Golly Gee, i don’t care what a certain, lonesome poster says, actually. I’d rather keep my integrity. I don’t know what else these actors can do?? I suppose, as I already said here and on the GH site, some of these scenes should just be cut down and concentrate more on storylines. I am not really into any of the love scenes. I actually FF them. Later.
Thank you for the backup, CeeCee! I can always count on you…
I don’t like pandering in politics or in soap marketing. And these scenes are pandering to the lowest common denominator. As you know, Friend, I am old enough that I remember the “Love in the Afternoon” marketing campaign, which followed on the heels of the hit song, “Afternoon Delight.” It wasn’t really “love” they were promoting — it was sex. I think that, over time, daytime soaps have equated the two and, in the process, given viewers blurred lines of distinction regarding love and sex and a warped sense of reality on these very personal issues.
CeeCee, your idea of concentrating more on storylines is insightful, and the powers that be would be wise to accept your advice.
Best to you…
@Jamesj75.
….Words after my own heart, James. I am always in your corner because we seem to have the same ideals. In many instances I have been told I am 29 going on 59. I can appreciate what is good and just in this world, James. I have been to hell and back. I survived. Family is the core of everything that is.
I love the eloquent, and eye-opening way you accent the difference between love and sex. Some people are able to have sex without the love. I pity them.
Sadly, as you say, “Love in the Afternoon” when equated to “Afternoon Delight”, completely distorts, not just the meaning of ‘love’, but also its value. And, at the risk of sounding repetitious, TPTB feed the public with sensationalism….because that’s what it wants. Welcome to this world….I worry for my kids. Later, my friend.
CeeCee, thanks so much for your further reply! Yes, I guess we do have the same ideals. So I am in good company! 🙂
When you consider the bombardment in our society of sex to sell virtually everything, it’s beyond distasteful, and it’s overkill! It permeates so much of the TV, music, movies, and other outlets. And, as you say, the public wants sensationalism… well, even in daytime TV, they are getting it…
Yet I have hope that you and I (and others) can keep fighting the good fight! Best to you, Friend! Take care.
Played. All these couples are played out in my opinion, with the exception of maybe Hilary/Devon and Marisa/Noah.
