Billy asks Phyllis to find out who leaked the Inquisitor story. Phyllis accuses Ricky of leaking the story, and fires him. Later, Phyllis questions Bev, the reporter from the Inquisitor, who reveals Ricky wasn’t her source. Later, Phyllis apologizes to Ricky and re-hires him at the magazine. After she leaves, Ricky thanks Bev for lying and kisses her. Chelsea informs Billy that she’s going to stay out of his and the baby’s lives as promised. Billy reveals he has set up a room for her at the GCAC. Meanwhile, Victoria is preparing for baby Johnny’s welcome home party when Adam arrives. He informs her that Victor sent Chelsea to seduce Billy in Myanmar. After inadvertently learning about Victoria’s party from Nick, Victor invites Genevieve to join him. Meanwhile, Nikki and Jack return home and express their happy surprise at their new-found relationship. They decide to keep things private for now. At the party, everyone is surprised when Victor arrives with Genevieve. Victor announces that he has re-acquired Beauty of Nature and places his arm around Genevieve, indicating they are now a couple. Nikki reacts with shock and reveals that she and Jack are together as well. Kay informs Abby that she’s stepping down from the Arts Council and she wants them to team up to plan the upcoming gala. At baby John’s party, everyone reacts to the news that of the two new couples, Victor and Genevieve and Nikki and Jack. As the four exchange barbs, Jill and Abby fill in a surprised Tucker about the situation. Billy declares that the party is over and asks his guests to leave. Victoria informs Victor that she knows he hired Chelsea to seduce Billy in Myanmar. Jack, Nikki, Billy and Victoria lash out at Victor for trying to ruin Billy and Victoria’s marriage. Victoria orders her father to leave. Later, Abby arrives with Reed, which Billy has arranged as a surprise. Victoria is overjoyed as Reed meets his new little brother. Victor visits Adam and asks if he kept quiet about his heroism in order to play an angle. Adam reveals that he followed Victor’s advice to be the kind of man he can be proud of. Nick and Sharon are stunned and upset when Victor informs them that they will be reporting to Genevieve at Beauty of Nature. Later, Genevieve informs Nick and Sharon to restructure their entire campaign for Beauty of Nature. Tucker informs Sofia that they need to keep up the ruse a little longer, as he suspects the game for Beauty of Nature isn’t over.

Kevin shows Chloe and Delia around the house Kevin shared with Angelina. Chloe observes how much Delia likes the home and agrees to move in. Sofia becomes emotional as she explains to Tucker how much she hates lying to Neil. Neil enters and defends his wife to Tucker. After Tucker leaves, Neil offers his wife a job at Chancellor, but she confesses that she is secretly working for Tucker. At the coffeehouse, Harmony notices that Neil is upset and advises him to forgive the person he’s mad at. Kay is delighted when Tucker informs her that Devon’s hearing has returned. She reveals that she suspects the rift between Tucker and Sofia is fake. She states that although she doesn’t like that he deceived Neil, she applauds his business savvy. At Restless Style, Avery arrives and confronts Phyllis for giving away the copy of Black Beauty. Avery insists that George was a good father. Michael coaches Daniel before the hearing, advising him not to let Daisy provoke him. Daisy calls Daniel and states her desire for the two of them to raise Lucy together. Later, a furious Daisy informs Ricky to make sure she doesn’t lose custody.

At the Newman Stables, Victor and Nikki clash about their relationships with Jack and Genevieve. Later, as Victor tries to assist Nikki with a twisted ankle they feel their attraction for each other. At the studio, Cane, Lily, Harmony and Neil play Devon’s song. As Neil and Harmony dance, Lily notices the chemistry between them. When Cane and Lily leave, Neil and Harmony share a passionate kiss. Ricky promises Daisy that he’s about to put a plan in motion that will ensure she gets custody of Lucy. Meanwhile, Phyllis begs him to leave Lucy with her, but Daniel refuses because of the custody battle. At Crimson Lights, Ricky watches Daniel with Lucy. Suddenly, there is a loud distraction and Daniel realizes Lucy is missing. Daniel panics as he searches for his daughter. Meanwhile, Ricky sits in his parked car holding Lucy. Later, Ricky enters with Lucy, saying he found her in the parking lot. Daniel gratefully holds his daughter as Phyllis eyes Ricky suspiciously.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.

This week on General Hospital begins with the ABC soap opera’s 16,000th episode which brings Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) back to Port Charles after being released by the WSB; all thanks to the deal made between Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Z (John Oliver).

On the same episode, the upshot of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) coming face to face, and seeing each other for the first time in months plays itself out, and it may not be how you think. Josslyn hopes sending Valentin to the side of Anna, will break up his burgeoning relationship with her mother, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), but will it?

It appears Valentin has a warning for Anna. In the GH video preview for the episode, Anna is seen saying “How do you know that?” What does Valentin know, and will he be the person that will catch on that she is being haunted by the ghost of Peter August (Wes Ramsey)?
