Y&R Shares Viewer Discretion Advised For Today’s Episode Due To Its Sensitive and Potentially Disturbing Content
Friday’s episode of The Young and the Restless will bring with it a heavy subject matter, and to alert viewers, the top-rated CBS daytime drama series took to Twitter to share an important message.
The Y&R Twitter account posted: “Today’s episode contains sensitive and potentially disturbing content for some audiences. Viewer discretion is advised. If you are in a crisis, or want to talk to someone, Call 988. Trained counselors are available 24/7.”
Fans have been responding to the tweet predicting it has something to do with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), but does it?
Stay tuned for today’s episode and come back here and let us know what you thought of it.
In the meantime, do you appreciate Y&R letting you know ahead of time of a topic contained within its show that can be potentially hard to watch? Let us know in the comment section below.
Certainly makes me want to watch even more. Hope it is presented accurately.
Mesmerizing for lack of a better term.
In total awe and admiration for how much M.C.E has been killing it these past couple of weeks but today was Emmy worthy. I didn’t even feel I was watching a soap it was so realistic and understated and layered. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves and everyone has a chance to witness this important subject matter.
Kudos to everyone interacting with MCE also today , Mark Grossman, Jason Thompson etc … also for no spoiler previews to truly suprise the viewer’s.
What a cliffhanger!
Truthfully, it seemed like any normal soap episode until the final minute. I’ll be curious to see how it plays out next week.
I’m sure I know where the story is going. But I won’t speculate and perhaps give a spoiler in case I’m right. I appreciate the disclaimer, but if it’s sensitive enough to require one just don’t write the story that way.
a home run so many times we like to escape with our soaps but when an issue such as mental health or depression is depicted as well as this has been it shows how meaningful our soaps can be when chelsea first started her depression after the death of rey it seemed like a bit of a head scratcher but little by little she began to lose everyone and everything she worked so hard for i’ve been impressed by the supporting acting of naomi matsuda and kimberlin brown on bold and tamara braun on days but melissa claire egan has delivered an emmy worthy performance beautifully nuanced to the point where you feel her pain! love that adam and billy have been so understanding and cannot stand the character of victoria she’s a disgusting ice princess cannot wait to see who will save the day if anyone while restless has been slow for a number of months this past month has seen a nice move of character development and good writing. kudos
I feel this is what makes Young and Restless a long lasting show. Because it used to deal with hard topics and helped us through seeing how making wrong choices had consequences I was a teenager and watching YR there was a teen girl who took Speed and what happened to her scared me from accepting any kind of pills also Alcoholism was really good at showing what happens when you cross that invisible line. And now at a time when life is really hard for so many this is so important to share there are a lot of women who walk around hiding their pain this may help someone see hope and reach out to someone or maybe someone might recognize someone who is hurting and will talk to them and help them with encouragement
Absolutely.!! Because sometimes I am at work and can’t see the show as it is airing EST.
Yes I do
While the warning was necessary I also think there should have been a statement after about depression and suicide!
Yes,I certainly do appreciate the warning, although I admit I saw it coming too!
Been there twice! I was badly abused by 1st husband and ended it after two years, 2nd one after being Gaslighted for along time, 18 yrs, finally saw the light! Now very happy, I also wrote in another on here too!Thank you,Jess
Audra always has a attitude and isn’t trustworthy !
She is too old looking to wear her hair that long & stringy. Cut it or wear it up plz.
!
Chelsea adds nothing to the show she needs to go! We are so tired of her whining about everything!
Nick is level headed and definitely adds to the show!
When will we learn if Adam is Sally’s baby’s father?

Finally, the promo comes to its conclusion, and Portia (Brooke Kerr) has suddenly gone into labor and she’s all alone!
