On Wednesday, CBS Daytime and The Young and the Restless is re-airing the classic 2005 episode of Cassie’s Death in an encore presentation being seeing around the country.  For those who miss the airing, they can see on CBS All-Access under Season 33.

Widely-known as the episode that will “get you every time’, it’s hard not to break down and reach for the hankies for this one, as time after time it still has the emotional pull and heart that has made it one of Y&R’s and soap’s best episodes of all-time.

In a very special interview to revisit taping those highly emotional and unforgettable moments, Michael Fairman chatted with the three stars of Y&R who made it so heartbreaking for fans of the series:  Joshua Morrow(Nick), Sharon Case (Sharon) and Camryn Grimes (Mariah) talk about … the unbreakable bond between them, taping those ‘death’ scenes, and Camryn also talks about coming back to Y&R years later as another character, Mariah Copeland, and much more.

The talented trio also share how great it is to finally be back at work since the production shutdown of COVID-19 forced new episodes of the series to be halted. But now they are back at CBS Television City, and share how that feels with all of the viewers.

The interview with Joshua, Sharon and Camryn was posted today on The Michael Fairman Channel on You Tube, but you can also check it out below.

Then let us know, did you watch the airing of “Cassie’s Death” today? If so, does it still hold up for you as one of the classic soap moments of all-time? Share your thoughts via the comment section.

What have the ratings been like for these repeats? Is anyone tracking that? Also, can someone remind me why Mariah looks like Cassie. I’m only a sporadic viewer of Y&R. But I have enjoyed these old episodes very much.

The typical long lost twin storyline courtesy of the hack JFP

I’m glad Camryn is back on Y&R.

Probably indeed one of SC & JM best acting I still cry my eyes out I have it taped I guess I will watch this was before LL came in and the destruction of Y&R started. I will never forgive the character of Nick his affair at the time his wife needed him most . You will never convince me that his true love was Phyllis it has and always will be Sharon no matter how the actors try to spin it. I adore Camryn Grimes but no I think the long list twin was not needed! When writers make a decision you need to just live with it and move on .

I watched the episode but it was the first time I’ve seen it. Very good episode. I cried.

Yes it was a tear jerker then & now love camryn grimes at such a young age she was holding her own watching her n her sister faith grow up has been cool to watch

When is Y n r showcasing ‘Nick and Sharon’ week? These two are the supercouple that never gets old!
I’ d love to see the kiss on the bridge in Paris again, Matt Clark/ Sharon/ Nick, Sharon/ Nick/ Phyliss, Nick and Sharon make love in the cabin which Sharon ends up pregnant with Faith, Nick/ Sharon/ Adam, Adam steals faith for Ashley etc..
These two deserve a week!

This episode was on my recorder but I chose not to watch it again, once was enough and C.G did an outstanding job which she still does every time she’s on. I also could not watch Sharon and Nicki in the sewer with the rats, ugh! I wonder what happened to the actor that played Larry. After coming to Nick’s rescue in prison he continued to be there for the Newman’s and had a fling with Jill, if I remember right. I thought he was a great talent.

The Young and the Restless Previews: Jordan Still Has a Trick Up Her Sleeve, Ashley’s Troubling Alter, Connor’s OCD

Teasers for The Young and the Restless for the week of March 18-22nd have been revealed, and it should be noted, it will be a shortened week of episodes, because on Thursday, March 21st and Friday, March 22nd, Y&R will be preempted for CBS’ coverage of the 2024 March Madness College Basketball tournament.

That being said, a few stories will bring the drama for a fresh new set of episodes airing early next week.

In the “what to look for”, while Victor (Eric Braeden) with the help of Nick (Joshua Morrow), have Jordan (Colleen Zenk) held captive in a warehouse, things look to go awry, when Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Claire (Hayley Erin) help convince Victor that they need to confront Jordan, in part, to help Nikki move on from the trauma she has received from Jordan including getting her back on the bottle.

Photo: JPI

According to Amelia Heinle, who spoke to Soap Opera Digest of the upcoming ‘meeting’: “The last people that Jordan was expecting to see while in captivity were Nikki, Victoria, and Claire, but Jordan cannot resist the urge to take on her rivals with one trick up her sleeve that no one will see coming.”

Meanwhile, Billy (Jason Thompson) is taken aback by his talk with Ashley (Eileen Davidson). Will he figure out, as Tucker (Trevor St. John) has beginning to do, that something is off and concerning about Ashley’s behavior? How long do you think it will take for someone to figure out she has had a personality break and now has an alter controlling her life, or trying to?

Photo: JPI

Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) son, Connor (Judah Mackey) had been diagnosed with OCD and now Chelsea feels very guilty. Will Connor’s OCD bring about continued thoughts as he presented to his parents, that he is hating himself? Stay tuned.

Below are the official Y&R teasers for next week:

Monday, March 18

Victor receives a shocking request from Nikki , Billy has a troubling encounter with Ashley, and Summer challenges Claire.

Tuesday, March 19

Victor tests Nick and Summer’s loyalty, Chelsea blames herself for Connor’s issues, and Nikki’s plan for revenge against Jordan backfires.

Wednesday, March 20

The Newmans support Claire as she struggles to connect with her new family.

Are you ready for Jordan to be caught once and for all and pay for her crimes against the Newman family, or do you want her to escape from her captivity so she can continue to torment the clan? What do you think of Ashley’s alter? Do you hope Y&R tells Connor’s OCD story with depth and humanity? Comment below.

Shemar Moore Teases “Anything is Possible with Numbers” and ‘S.W.A.T.’s’ Current 7th and Final Season May Not Be Its Last

S.W.A.T is now in what is supposed to be its seventh and final season on CBS. The crime drama starring former The Young and the Restless, Daytime Emmy winner, Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm Winters), has aired its sixth of its thirteen final season order from the network.

As viewers know, CBS canceled S.W.A.T. only for it to be resurrected after public outcry for the fan favorite series with Moore.  Recently, an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Shemar teased that although it looks like this is the end of the line for Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson and squad, it may not be. Perhaps, there could still be another season.

Taking that one step further in a post on Instagram this week, Shemar responded to a fan on Instagram on if season 7 is indeed the last. Moore expressed, “It might be the end and that would and will make me quite sad … it’s out of my hands .. it’s up to CBS and SONY … not me… I am doing the best I can to rally the remaining troops and crew to keep the show alive. But just REMEMBER, numbers matter!! And … nobody DIED!!! They can always come back!! Doesn’t mean they will.. but ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH NUMBERS! Think about it!”

Meanwhile, on the Friday, March 15th episode, Luca is shot, leaving many to wonder if actor, Kenny Johnson, is exiting the series before its current finale. Viewers won’t find out the result of the shooting until S.W.A.T. returns following several weeks off for the March Madness College Basketball Tournament on April 5th.

Photo: CBS

Back in February, S.W.A.T showrunner, Andrew Dettman, told TV Line: “Looking at (Season 7) being the final 13 (episodes), we wanted to give everybody their proper curtain call.” Johnson is recurring this season.

Currently, S.W.A.T. airs on Firdays on CBS at 8/7c and streams on Paramount+

So, do you think Shemar can rally the troops one more time and still get S.W.A.T. picked up for an eighth season? D you think it should just go out on a high note at season seven? Comment below.
