Y&R's Lachlan Buchanan and GH's Hayley Erin Make Their Debuts: What Were Your First Impressions?

Last week, saw the debuts of two recasts on two of your favorite daytime drama series. First, Lachlan Buchanan came on to the scene as the recast Kyle Abbott on The Young and the Restless. The role of Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane’s son was last played by Hartley Sawyer.
Lachlan’s Kyle is already coming in to the mix in Genoa City in a whole heap of hot water as one of the prime suspects in the “murder” of Austin (Matthew Atkinson), especially if you check out the latest CBS Daytime promo for Y&R this week!
Over in Port Charles, Hayley Erin, who once played Abby Newman on Y&R, has taken over the role of Kiki Jerome from longtime soap opera fan favorite, Kristen Alderson.

As viewers know, it was Alderson’s decision to leave to purse other career opportunities and personal interests. Erin made her General Hospital debut in scenes with Bryan Craig (Morgan) and William deVry (Julian), centering on conversations on having a wake for her believed-to-be-dead mother, Ava (Maura West).
So, while viewers are just seeing these two recast actors getting their feet wet in their new roles, what were your first impressions? Y&Rs L.B. was o.k. and gets an A…GHs H.E. gets a D but ill give her a chance to improve…K.A. was so good in her final scene with R.H. she gets an A+ for her final moment and that hard to beat…jmo!!!

I agree that H.E. gets a D, and I also agree that she needs time. I remember that I did not like new Morgan at first, but BC is excellent in the role. I can’t imagine anyone playing his role except him. I also didn’t warm up to the new Lulu, but I love her character now. I thought Nina was a bit much her first few weeks, but I never hit fast-forward when she’s on. I’ve learned to wait – the casting director knows what she/he’s doing.

As a long term soap fan I understand and accept the recast especially with a key/legacy character. But the new Kyle has me scratching his head. Kyle has SORASd before my eyes and I”m ok with that too. But this guy is so much younger looking than the last Kyle …. I hope has good material to play and is a good actor. I can forgive the rest.
I think they hit a homer run with this kid. If you forget about the last actor playing Kyle, he is about the right age. He came in and seamlessly ran with the baton. He’s got good looks, charisma and talent.
I see a young Kevin Bacon merging with a young Billy Miller (don’t kill me Billy Miller fans).
I think they found themselves a winner. Moreover, he really looks and acts like the son of ole smiling Jack.
I haven’t caught GH in a few weeks so I can’t comment on the Kiki recast. I loved KA so much and her scene with last scene with RH still makes my heart ache just thinking of it.

I had mentioned nuKyle looking very much like Jack on the previous site. I noticed that immediately ,(personally, I do not like that look….but, hey, that’s just how see him). Let’s just hope his outlook on life is not to ‘screw’ (pardon the word, but it is fitting in many ways…LOL) people over as his sire is wont to do.
As far as I’m concerned, Jack’s reputation is besmirched with good reason…..he is blacklisted in my book. I dislike the character as much as Victor.
Nonetheless, I will give this nuKyle the benefit of the doubt.
I have said this previously also…..Hayley Erin went below my expectations. But, I cannot blame her for that….I blame myself. I should not exalt someone’s acting based on any personally preconceived notion. She, too, will get the benefit of the doubt. It is only fair.
They are both two young actors trying to make it in a dog-eat-dog-world.

I hear you, k/kay!!!! TL’s “Jack Abbott” was one of the first soap bad boys I watched, and he inhabited the role with a lethal combination of finesse and charm! To me, he shall always be the one and only Jack! ( Although I also thought he did a credible job as “Mason Capwell” in Lane Davies absence….and those were HUGE shoes to fill!!!!)
@shay do not forget his incredible performance as Royce Keller on ATWt he was our friend not a fan I do not do the fan crap met him at a social event non soaps and became friends he was a wonderful man and a true gentleman. Love and miss him!
@k/kay….That is so cool!!!!! I have read a bit about Mr. Lester, and was surprised to discover that he was quite the talented composer and that music was his real love and forte’. Such a shame that facet wasn’t incorporated into his soap roles on Y&R or SB. I never caught his performance as Royce, but have no doubt that it was as superb as his other ones. No disrespect intended to PB, but as far as I’m concerned, TL was and remains the only true Jack Abbott….due to his departure and then that awful Ashley recast, I quit watching the show long ago and never looked back. You are indeed fortunate to have known the man, and I can understand why he is so missed…..he left us all too soon!
Kay, that is so wonderful that you knew Terry Lester. He died way too young.
I loved his Jack Abbott–he looked so handsome in those three piece suits. I recall he was so sweet to his secretary who had a physical disability, and who had a a huge crush on her boss. I loved the Abbots back in those days. That was when soaps had core families and the stories revolved around them.
You had the Abbots, The Newmans and The Chancellors. Representing the working class was the Williams family. Remember that Holy roller Mary? What a great character she was. I knew many women just like her. Fascinating character study of a devout Catholic mother who was way too attached to her son and who treated his girl friends like romantic rivals. Oh man, those were the days.
Kyle, he wasn’t seen for a year. While I’m not saying Kyle is not important, he hasn’t had a major storyline in a year. As for Kiki, Kristen Alderson took the role after her character Starr was illegal on GH. Its actually going to take more time to accept this girl as Kiki, cause even as Kiki, I only saw Starr with new hair. Maybe I can see her a a character who is Starr pretending to be another person.
I like nuKyle- he is more in keeping with the look and age of the character than the last guy. He is fitting in nicely with the “younger” set and I can see the beginnings of a new Abbott-Newman feud between him and Noah. I think he is working and it helped that they had his character off screen for a while. It is always more jarring to see one actor in the role one day and new person the next– it makes accepting the recast a bit more difficult. This is part of the problem I am having with nuKiki. If it were me I would had Kiki leave town to look for Ava for a bit before bring on the recast. I’m not impressed with her so far, but perhaps she will grow on me.

Summer is not even 21 …..
Well I don’t know where you get your information, but the character Kyle was born in 2001, which means he should only be fourteen, but they SORAS him to be in 2012, 22, which means he should be 25ish, Abby was born in 2000 so she should be fifteen, but they SORAS her in 2010 to be 21, so she would be 26 — so when I said the younger set I meant any of the characters in their twenties, which was my POINT– this actor is in keeping with the character TRUE AGE and the not the guy who played him before who WAY TOO OLD for the role. You just love to throw a wet blanket on anything anyone might have to say remotely positive about this show– but in this case you just plain wrong.
When was it said how old Abby and Kyle were?
Actually Summer Newman was born on December 19th, 2006 so she should be 9 years old.
@mary yes you are right on all fronts concerning the characters ages this is why as much as I love Camryn Grimes/ Mariah it does not work since Summer was a product of wimpy Nick not being able to face reality of losing a child then having Summer with Phyliss Not knowing for sure for eighteen years if it was actually his wicked spawn. But wait a minute it is all Sharon’s fault! The actress who plays Abby needs to stay off The Price Is Right as my sister says if she wants to be taken seriously! The previous Kyle was gosh awful they should have stayed with Blake Hood I think that was his name. Trust me you have no idea how much damage Chuck Pratt will do to this show. In two weeks no one even resembles a shadow of their selves. Sad but not my problem Y&R wants to stay on the air they will have to do it without this long time viewer. Hey I just keep watching Justified and all is right with the world!!!
What I was trying to say is Mariah should be 18 years older then that wicked spawn Summer. The most useless young character ever created!
And this is why SORAS should be illegal in American daytime soaps. Just look at Eastenders, they’ve let a pair of twins age naturally with only frequent recasts to worry about. Once they hit their 20’s, they finally were given major storylines that ended with one of the twins murdered and a year later, the reveal of the murderer pushed the other twin to leave town in an emotional goodbye to a place he called home for all his life.
This also tells a lot about audiences becoming increasingly impatient waiting for newly born kids in soaps to grow up in a matter of a few short months if not years into adulthood.

And now he has been aged to 34 according to a couple of sites/accounts..

(so he should have been 10 then but was aged to his 25ish… and through college and he was an Executive at Newman Enterprises and Executive at Jabot (wow lol

Abby was born on November 13-2000 which makes her 15. No news on Kevin Fisher but his real birthday is Feb. 26/1977 so in real life he’s 38. So if we go by the Newman Abbott family tree Kevin & Mariah are hanging around with teenagers and Summer should be at a play-date or in school.
Are you sure Kyle is 35,Su? I’m not sure about that. If he is supposed to be 35, then TPTB made a big boo-boo. Lachlan is actually 24. He ‘fits in’ with the rest of the young crowd.
Abby (yuck) is a lanky, no-taste-in-clothes overgrown fake teenager. Same goes for Kevin…except that I love Kevin. I hope Austin is gone for good. His face looks like a question mark.

I know you are not a fan of Y&R (I do wonder why you watch, though….LOL), but I am starting to get into the Kelly/Phyllis/Jack storyline, albeit I would love to see Kelly and her innocent, childish act take a flight to the moon. And, Jack? What can I say….find someone your own age. How about you? Do you find a little interest in this storyline. I’d love your feedback.

It is way too early to truly judge, as everyone deserves a chance, but on first impression, Lachlan as Kyle seems okay, but as for Hayley playing Kiki, she is an adorable, young girl, but I am just not feeling her in that role “yet”. Wishing them both good luck !
I don’t watch Y&R but LOVE Haley Erin on GH. She did a fantastic job and I really like her father/daughter chemistry w/ Michael Easton. I think she’s going to fit in just beautifully. 🙂

Personally, once I heard Kristen Alderson was leaving, I was hoping she’d take the role of Kiki with her. I do not like this new lame actress and I won’t be investing in this character anymore than I invested in Kristen’s version of her. Like the character of Christina, they need to put this one to pasture too!

Aden, If you go to Newman/Abbott family tree it will tell you the age of most of them when they we’re born on the show. Kyle was born on January 8th, 2001 which makes him 14. Go figure.

Su, Kyle is not in his mid thirties–he’s just not. About 7 or 8 years ago he was played by a very annoying kid of about 12.
As you tell us all the time, you must utilize your ability to suspend disbelief.
You cannot get all hung up with age when viewing any soap opera. It will drive you insane.
On another note, has Abby changed out of that absurd Valentine’s Day get up yet? She looks like a private school girl trying to jazz up her school uniform. She also looks more ridiculous in that get up than she did trotting around in the nude as The Naked Heiress.

None of the characters remotely act their ages anyhow– old and young alike: complete immaturity in their antics…. they never seem to have outgrown “high school behavior.” I am the broken record: Writers, please have these characters grow up! I ranted on another post about having an audience TRUST the stories and the characters but that is impossible with all that is going on. When the audience doesn’t trust your craft anymore, they slowly (or maybe quickly) drift away. Writers– are you out there reading these posts?

I cannot see how Frank would hire her if she couldnt act. Give her some time. Recasts are tough. Look at Billy Abbott. That guy has a year under his belt and he has not gotten any better. He needs to go. Let this girl make Kiki her own before we throw her off a cliff!

I like the new KiKi , she has a sexy innocence about her but at the same time you get the feeling she is nobody’s fool. The new Kyle looks like a young versions of his father, let’s hope he do not become a womanizer like his father use to be and Summer become the new Patti,lol.

As for NuKiki, she looked pretty skanky, which I totally blame on hair and makeup folks (completely wrong colors on her; hated her dark roots and dirty looking hair; yes, I know it was product but she looked awful), not on the actress. When I saw picture of her, I had high hopes, that’s why I think it’s hair and makeup. Hope they’ll improve her look and that I’ll get used to her.

Mariah can not be 25. Cassie died at age 15…..Summer was born as a product of the grief of that death about a year later. Summer is 19 so As Cassie’s twin, Mariah also has to be 16 years older than Summer which would put her at 35. That would make Sharon 51 or 52. Do you see where I am going? This show has completely beyond repair botched the ages of their characters. Its best to pretend these shows happen in a strange vortex where ages are interchangeable. Logic has no bearing. But that said…Kyle under any circumstance is closer to 21 than to 35 as Su keeps insisting. I dont care if the person is 19 or 25 or whatever as long as they can play the part believably. Andrea Z. from 90210 was played by 33 year old Gabrielle Carteris. But all that gang played their parts well and were backed up by good writing.

Su, we must separate the character from the actor, right? But, if Kyle is, indeed, playing the role of a 35-year old, then TPTB must be idiots. “They” must do some rewriting and re-tracking for nuKyle’s role to be accepted. As it is, this age thing is becoming an obstacle for me because every time Kyle comes on, I fixate on his age, trying to discern if he looks 35. NOPE! He looks his age…24.
Why would Kyle or abby be 34 or 35? If we’re going with their birth dates they’d both most likely be teens at most; let’s not forget that on one life to live Blair was originally asian..then wasnt, so shaving a few years off a previous actor is no biggie. .be nice to see Kyle with Mariah

In the end the years dont matter. Its a soap and we are supposed to imagine certain things. I say just group them together as close to age as possible or before you know it Faith will be running HR at Newman Enterprises!

Vince I. is correct. Kyle & Abby were conceived by Diane & Ashley, respectively, around the same time during the heist of Victor’s stolen sperm. They really should be around the same age.

One More Time Kyle was born on December 8th, 2001 he is 14 years old. Abby was born November 13th. 2000 she is 15 years old. The oldest are Mariah & Kevin.
Ridiculous how they’ve made Kyle so much younger. Best Kyle was Blake Hood, who JFP should have kept but replaced with one of her own, and that guy failed. Now this new, much younger Kyle. Nothing personal but his acting just isnt there. Another Y&R character replacement fail. Another funny thing is that new Kiki on GH was Summer on Y&R and JFP replaced her as well and brought in the whiney Summer we have now. New Kiki is okay so far. I do think her hair should be a little darker…after all they made Kristen Alderson darken her hair for the role.
Blake was the BEST! He had that Michael J. Fox thing going and him and Jack clicked.
Love Lachlan Buchanan. He looks like Kyle and fits in really well. He is also good looking. Hayley Erin was bad on Y&R. Not a big GH watcher,but her acting ability is weak. GH has a weak younger set right now that has no spark. I do like how Y&R is really starting to play up it’s younger set.
KYLE: Horrible, just horrible. The kid can act but the key word here is kid. He was an older dude when he last appeared on the show and went off to work out of town on Jabot business. Now you recast him and he is a young kid again in a Scooby Doo story line. VERY dumb! If they have him work at Jabot again as a businessman, it will be a huge joke!
Kiki: The girl isnt bad. I remember her as Abby on Y&R and she had skills. The Abby now on Y&R is head and shoulders above this new Kiki BUT this is about GH. Kristen wanted to leave and thats that. I was surprised the character was recasted so quickly. I will give her some time. I want to see her with Ava or Franco and then I will have a better answer as to if she is a bust or not

Kyle was never aged to be thirty-four Sue, and you know it. I think you’re just trying to drive us all crazy and doing a damn fine job of it I might add.
Kyle was born in 2001 then they SORAS him to 22 in 2012, so the character would be 25ish– this actor is 24– totally right for the character. In my mind they are just correcting a mistake they made when they cast the last guy who was looked and acted way too old for the role. As for his job qualifications Victoria was running a division for Newman when she was barely 20 and had no experience– when daddy runs the company I guess age doesn’t matter- but most of these issues are related to SORASing characters– it really messes with the time line and you get these silly paradoxes like 20 somethings being at the top of profession overnight.

Timm, I think he Kyle looks more like a kid who would work at In n Out or Chick Filet. Those kids are so earnest and aggressively friendly that I cannot help but think they moonlight as Children of the Corn.
That said, I think this new Kyle is going to be a hit.

Kyle acceptable, but could have gotten someone close to kiki looks, don’t think this girl can act, gonna be hard to replace Kiki that fast, maybe should have left her part disappear for awhile, then come back looking completely different!
She is a very bland actress, he is a pretty boy actor, wish the casting directors had tried a little harder. Pratt should have gotten Christian Alexander from his Lying Game to play Kyle. He’s a much more interesting actor.

No it does not ! Kevin was brought on ten years ago and has been involved with Billy, Daniel group. Now we have him with this generation! Yuck big disappointment the biggest problem was when MAB aged Summer in two weeks that character has thrown everything off. Doing the long lost twin Mariah who should be 18years older then Summer has made this story never work. As for the character of Kyle yes I agree with people hard to believe he would be a big shot in NY. Chuck Pratt will make a train wreck out of this show and the actors need to stay off Twitter praising him you just will have egg on your face. Susan Lucci never has a harsh word to say about anybody and she said he hurt AMC I would take her word any day over these other rats over at Y&R.
I agree with everything you said k/kay except the Susan Lucci part. She lost a job which gave her a bitter pill. That’s not to say I like C.Pratt but there is nothing we can do about who writers or produces the show. I doubt they care what fans think. Think about it we wanted Billy Miller/ Michael Muhney/Michel Stafford to stay. Did they listen? When there was talk about bringing Kyle back we the fans asked for Blake Hood back. Did they listen? They asked for a new/younger Summer. Did they listen? There was some petition going around to get rid of J.F.P. is she gone? IMO They don’t care. That is why they can’t get as many people watching the awards as they use too because they know that we know it’s not who the fans want it’s who the writers/producers want.
Nikki, no it doesn’t matter. That said, we’ve watched Kevin Kevin for so long it’s hard not to recognize that he’s a lot older than Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica.
And I swore I would not get sucked into the age vortex, but Mariah being born in 91 makes her twenty-four. Kevin is a good fifteen years older than her–a whole generation. I think Kevin is too old for Mariah but I do like them as friends.

Yes, Betty, Veronica, Archie and Jughead would be senior citizens if they were real people. However, the beauty of being a comic book character is you don’t age.
I’m impressed with the new Kiki and thought it was nice that they said the role of Kiki Jerome is now being played by, which I haven’t heard in a long time. Some of the best actors in Daytime were recasts including Erika Slezak, Kassie Depriva, etc.
Sorry…but I am N-O-T impressed with the new Kyle (Y&R) or with the new Kiki (GH). To me, they both look like kids in high school. To me, EPIC FAIL TIMES 2!!!!! No thanks. Next…

Lachlan Buchanan was very good especially given the material. I think he benefits that this role has never been written with much depth — something I don’t expect to change with Pratt — plus the last actor in the role didn’t make much of an impression.
As for Hayley Erin, her acting style doesn’t seem to have changed much from her time on Y&R. I suspect the role will be recast again very soon.

It will definitely take some getting used to. I prefer the other Kyle he had a nice demeanor whereas this new Kyle looks like a bad guy. Certainly prefer old Kiki but I am sure I will get used to the new one.

Don’t watch GH, but hope Hayley’s acting has improved from when she was on Y&R. Was super surprised with the casting choice as I didn’t think Hayley was that good on Y&R.

I say too long because it’s uber boring.
The new Kyle seems like he has one it takes, the new Kiki, not so much.
The casting of these young female roles are always a hit or miss. This new Kiki is a half pint. They needed a young Gina Tognoni type, an actress with a little hardness, a NY edge. She’s a mobster’s daughter from Manhattan. I actually thought KA did a better job as Kiki as they darkened her hair and made her more ballsy and outspoken. There was a good balance of tenderness with the edges. I feel the same about Emmy Ryan in the Lulu role; total miscast. I liked ER as Lizzy and she even worked for a while as Abby on YR but not as Lulu. GH also needed an actress with very strong acting chops to stand up against BC as Morgan; he’s a true find and should be a leading player; not sure why he’s on once a week and Chad Duell (who I never thought could act) is front and center. Morgan is a much more intriguing character.
I finally liked Kristen Alderson as Kiki (always loved her as Starr Manning) when they moved her story away from Chad Duell. They may be great offscreen, but their pairing put me to sleep. She really got a chance to spread her wings when she had more interaction with veterans, Maura West and Michael Easton.
I was sad to see her go after finally being in a good place on screen.
I like Hayley Erin, I think she’s cute and will bring good chemistry to the show. I do miss Kristen Alderson, she can understand why she’s want to do something new. I saw Kristen in the audience of the Bachelor show tonight.
Well I guess it really doesn’t matter all the soaps screw up with ages have for years. Look at Days Sammi and EJ Dimera when EJ was born two years on screen after her son Will! Crazy!
It’s too soon to judge either of them. My first impression of nuKyle, though is that he seems younger and less mature than Sawyer Hartley portrayed him. This Kyle seems like a teeny bopper.
I have to say, however, I really cannot stand how CHEESY this storyline has become. It was bad enough with the cabin mystery, but now we have to endure all these “flashbacks” that happened off camera between Abby, Austin and Kyle?
Give me a break. That is THE cheapest and laziest way to tell a story. Wrap this up soon … please!
Oh and I guess Christine must have a magnet to her butt or something because she is getting hit by a car again. Of all the people in Genoa City. Is this like the guy in the movie, The Great Outdoors that keeps getting hit by lightning? Wasn’t the whole “flirting with disaster” enough? Now we have to have an expectant mother run down with a car.

I actually do no like either actor in these roles. They are not very good.
It’s been awhile since Hayley Erin started her role as Kiki. I’ve tried to be patient with her growth but haven’t seen any. The scenes with her shrieking over her father and at Franco were over played and not genuine. I’m really upset about Michael Easton leaving the show too. I’d love to see someone else given a shot as Kiki.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sonny Tells Dante, “I Don’t Want a Son Like You,” While Michael Tells Brook Lynn to Bide Her Time Till Chase and Willow Have an Affair
On the Thursday, October 1 episode of General Hospital, both Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) had some things to say and what they had to say didn’t go over well with whom they were talking to!
Sonny had a confrontation with his son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), while Michael leveled with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) over Chase (Josh Swickard).
GH is setting up a scenario where everyone is going to make it look like Sonny was responsible for having Sidwell (Carlo Rota) beat up in Pentonville; while viewers already know Ava (Maura West) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) were behind it.

A VISIT WITH DAD
Now, Dante comes to Sonny’s house. He wants to know straight up from his dad if he ordered the attack at Pentonville. Sonny flatly denies any culpability or responsibility, but Dante refuses to believe him.
Dante informs Sonny he has video footage of Sully and Vito at the prison. Sonny explains to Dante he doesn’t know why Sully beat up both Curtis and Dante. Things escalated when Sonny was deeply hurt that Dante refused to believe him. Dante says he was disappointed that his father didn’t respect him enough to be truthful with him!
Sonny asks Dante to consider that he was being set up. He says all he did was to tell Vito to instruct Sully to keep a watchful eye on Sidwell, not to harm him. No matter what Sonny said, Dante continued hammering him with how he knew deep down, even though he said he left the mob, he had to finish off Sidwell for himself.
Next, Sonny explains everything he has ever done was to provide for and to protect his family. Dante fired back that he doesn’t want to deal anymore with Sonny’s half-baked truths. As the two men argue, Gio (Giovanni Mazza) shows up at Sonny’s front door and overhears Sonny losing his temper and shouting at Dante, “Get out of my house! I don’t want a son like you!” The scenes featured an excellent performance by Maurice Benard.

MICHAEL THE MANIPULATOR
While this is going down, outside the Quartermaine boathouse, Brook Lynn opens up to Michael about living at the Q’s with Chase being there, since he only came back due to legal advice from his lawyer, Monet Mitchell (Blythe Howard).
Brook Lynn questioned whether they should get legally separate. Michael insisted that would be a big mistake. When she asks why, Michael tells Brook Lynn to bide her time until Chase and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) have an affair; then she’d have full custody of Phoebe.
An angered Brook Lynn pushed Michael into the water and accuses him of moving Willow back into the gatehouse with intent on putting Chase and Willow in closer proximity and sacrificing Brook Lynn’s family in the process. As the two cousins bicker, Chase shows up asking Brook Lynn if she is OK. Michael punctuates their talk with “You know, I’m right.”
CURTIS FIGURES OUT A WAY TO GET OUT OF THE SLAMMER
At GH, Willow visits Curtis (Donnell Turner) in his hospital room. Curtis wants Willow to get him pardoned and keep him out of jail, and in return, he will help her nail Sonny.
Next, Willow tells Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) she wants Curtis held for observation for three more days. He agrees to do so under one condition, that she understands that he may need to call in a favor from a congresswoman.

GH Alum Tajh Bellow and Y&R Alum Loren Lott Star in New Tiktok and Microdrama ‘Love Island’ Spoof
Two soap opera alums very familiar to fans of General Hospital and The Young and the Restless are paired together in a new short-form digital series from none other than Issa Rae’s production entity HOORAE Digital.
Look for Tajh Bellow (ex-TJ Ashford, GH)) and Loren Lott (ex-Ana Hamilton, Y&R) as part of the cast of The Compatibility Experiment, premiering on October 14, 2026, exclusively on TikTok and its companion microdrama platform, PineDrama.
In the video teaser, it appears that Bellow and Lott play a couple, Kelvin and Camila, set in a Love Island reality show-esque environment trying to win the one million dollar cash prize, only what could go wrong?

The Compatibility Experiment loglines share that it brings a fast-paced, relationship-focused reality check—much like Love Island with a twist. The show takes a participant’s current relationship, introduces them to a potentially more compatible partner, and forces them to navigate the differences with life-changing money on the line.
The new series is part of a groundbreaking content deal between HOORAE Digital and TikTok to develop premium short-form storytelling. The ensemble cast also features; Ayona, Reggie Luck, JaNa Craig, Tosin Morohunfola, Jessica Jacoby, Georgia Warner, and Nick Cassidy.
General Hospital fans know Tajh Bellow for his performances as TJ Ashford, and who earned two Daytime Emmy nominations along the way during his run. Bellow took over the role in 2018 and last appeared on the ABC daytime drama series in December of 2024.
Loren Lott first appeared as Devon’s (Bryton James) sister Ana Hamilton on The Young and the Restless from 2018 to 2019; making a brief return in 2024. She has continued to perform on the stage and screen with recent credits including: Bel-Air, Cherish the Day, and All American: Homecoming.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ava and Drew Revealed to be Behind Framing Sonny for Sidwell’s Prison Beatdown
If you thought that the person responsible for the Pentonville brawl that saw Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Curtis (Donnell Turner) taken to General Hospital was Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) or even Sidwell himself, you were dead wrong! On the Wednesday, September 30 episode of GH, it turned out that the culprits were actually Ava (Maura West) and Drew (Cameron Mathison).
In story, Drew apparently bankrolled the attack on Sidwell and framing Sonny. He told Ava their planned worked (she came up with it!) but was horrified when Drew informed her that Curtis got caught in the crosshairs. Ava is visibly upset because of her longtime friendship with Curtis’ daughter, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali). Drew tried to make Ava see the bright side. Curtis was witness to it and his presence will cast doubt on Sonny’s claims to that he had gotten out of the mob and gone legit.
Later, Vito shows up at Drew’s. They informed him that his guy on the inside of the slammer made a big mistake by hurting their friend and ordered him to leave town.

BOATHOUSE BRAWL
In other major developments, Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Rocco (Finn Carr) have a blow out fight as Danny blames his “brother” for the reason Charlotte was sent off to boarding school.
Rocco told off Danny for Charlotte’s (Bluesy Burke) reckless behavior and he explains he had to protect his sister. He went in on Danny saying that his mother Lulu (Alexa Havins) has been right to send Charlotte to boarding school and far away from Danny.
However, Rocco went a bit too far when he shouted, “And if your mom was alive, she would send you away too!” Next, Danny punched out Rocco, leading to a terrible brawl. An angered Danny yells at Rocco to, “Stay away from me and everyone in my family. And don’t you ever mention my mom again!” Danny storms off.

Now alone outside the boathouse, Rocco flashes back to his first kiss with Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarksi), hoping that his fight with Danny will not escalate and ruin their budding romance. Meanwhile, a bloodied-mouth Danny heads over to Sonny’s and Jason (Steve Burton) is there at the same time. He then admits that he has a bad fight with Rocco and they are both beaten up.
WILL SCOUT WISE UP?
At the end of the episode, Scout, who had a fight with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) over Drew, and who keeps telling everyone how good a man her dad truly is, comes upon a suspicious scene.
Scout hides behind the wall outside Drew’s. She sees her dad, Ava and Vito talking. Next, Scout seems to overhear Vito assuring Drew and Ava that their business dealings are done, and he’ll be leaving Port Charles for good.
