Photo: CBS

Not only is The Young and the Restless Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) an icon of daytime drama, but she is also a huge Lucille Ball enthusiast. So much so, that Melody is bringing her special show, Always Young & Restless:  An Evening with Melody Thomas Scott to the Lucille Ball Little Theatre in Jamestown, New York, for two fundraisers on Tuesday, August 15th at 7:30-9pm and 9:30-11pm.

In a statement on the event, Melody expressed: “I’ve admired Lucille Ball my entire life and am so looking forward to raising money for the Lucille Ball Little Theatre. It’s a great opportunity to both support the arts and honor Lucy, a legendary Jamestown native who’s kept the world laughing for more than 70 years. I always enjoy spending time with my fans who have been so loyal to me and ‘Nikki’ all these years.”

Always Young & Restless:  An Evening with Melody Thomas Scott will be held at the Theatre, 18 E. Second Street in Jamestown, New York. Scott will take the stage and reflect on her career as she shares personal photos and video clips of some of her most memorable Hollywood moments while interacting with the audience and taking their questions. Autographed copies of her memoir, Always Young and Restless: My Life On and Off America’s #1 Daytime Drama, will be available in the lobby before the event, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the theatre.

For a more personal touch, also available is The VIP Experience with Melody Thomas Scott which includes a ticket to the theatre event as well as one to a special gala reception in Melody’s honor from 9:30-11 p.m. Price for this package is $150 and is limited to just 65 tickets. After enjoying premium seating at the Lucille Ball Little Theatre, these 65 ticket holders will meet Scott one-on-one at the reception for photos and autographs. A silent auction featuring several pieces of unique memorabilia donated by Scott; including a Y&R script signed by several cast members and an iconic piece from Nikki’s wardrobe will also be part of the gala.

Holly Weston, board president of the Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown shared, “An opportunity like this has never happened before for Little Theatre. A veteran television actress who has been part of our daytime TV viewing lives for decades has reached out to us and offered to come to Jamestown and present a show and a reception – all at her own expense and with all proceeds benefitting the Lucille Ball Little Theatre. At a time when so many nonprofits are struggling with the financial aftereffects of the pandemic, we have Melody to help us through it, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

Tickets and more details on both events can be found here.

Whatever this woman is doing she looks absolutely wonderful she just turned 67 and she looks great! I just wish she had a Emmy she has been great all these years on this soap

She does look fabulous, but her photos are airbrushed. I think it’s a shame because she’s still got it, wrinkles and all. She’s beautiful just as is looks in real life; no need for the airbrushing.

Melody is always a joy whatever she does! I had no idea she was a Lucy fan how neat!

It’s just the second episode of the season, and Covid strikes again! On tonight’s all-new Dancing with the Stars (8 pm ET, ABC), The Bachelorette‘s Charity Lawson will team with substitute dance troupe partner, Ezra Sousa.

Lawson’s full-time dance pro, Artem Chigvintsev, is out this week due to Covid. Coming into tonight’s competition, Charity and Artem were at the top of the leaderboard after night one of the competition, scoring 22 out of 30.

On the show’s official Instagram account, they shared: “Artem will not be dancing tonight due to COVID. Wishing him a quick recovery! ❤️ Charity will perform with Ezra for #LatinNight. #DWTS”

Since the outbreaks of Covid-19, Dancing with the Stars had been hard hit with cases revealed both during the 2021 and 2022 season.

Former Dancing with the Stars pro standout, Cheryl Burke, and her then celebrity partner Cody Rigsby, had both tested positive and even had to perform one of their numbers via zoom and from separate locations to remain in the competition.

Artem is married to former WWE wrestler and diva, Nikki Bella. However, both Nikki and her sister Brie, are know going under the last name of Garcia.

The dance pro and Garcia first met when they were paired together during season 25 and the 2017 season of Dancing with the Stars.  They later went on to marry in 2022.

So, what do you think of Charity’s chances to remain atop of the leaderboard on tonight’s Dancing with the Stars with Artem out and Ezra standing in for him? Comment below.

Wowza! Now here’s a line-up of soap opera and primetime favorites all in one movie! Coming up for the holidays, Lifetime has revealed they have an 80s and soap-themed film starring: Donna Mills (ex-Knots Landing, General Hospital), Linda Gray (ex-Dallas), Nicollette Sheridan (ex-Knots Landing and Dynasty), Morgan Fairchild (ex-Falcon Crest, SFT, DAYS et al) and Loni Anderson (ex-WKRP in Cincinnati).

Filmed earlier in 2023, Ladies of the 80’s is said to follow five soap opera divas (how fun and perfect!), as they reunite to shoot the final Christmas episode of their long-running soap opera!

In story, the producer, Alex (Travis Burns) and director Nell (Taylor Ann Thompson), who happen to be old college friends, do their best to keep things on the rails but as the ladies come together, old rivalries resurface that threaten to tear the production apart. With the show nearly canceled before it even begins due to the ladies’ famous diva behavior, they reluctantly agree to set aside their differences and past secrets to “act” as if they all still love each other.  When old sparks reignite between Alex and Nell, the ladies become eager to play cupid and conspire to bring the couple together.

But wait, there’s more! In addition to the five leading ladies, the cast also includes: Days of our Lives favorite Patrika Darbo (ex-Nancy), Alec Mapa, and Donna Mills’ real-life daughter, Chloe Mills, plus 80s heartthrob, Christopher Atkins.

In a statement on the project, the movie’s EP Larry A. Thompson shared: “The opportunity to bring together Donna, Morgan, Loni, Linda and Nicollette, five powerhouse women into one holiday movie, has been like finding the perfect gift under the Christmas tree.”

The official airdate of the holiday movie will be revealed shortly in the networks’s A Wonderful Lifetime Holiday movie schedule. Deadline first shared the news.
