Y&R's Michelle Stafford hosts ACME Saturday Night Photo Gallery!

Over the weekend, The Young and the Restless, Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) took her turn at hosting ACME Saturday Night, the SNL-type sketch comedy sketch show performed with the hilarious ACME comedy troupe.

On-Air On-Soaps was in attendance to see Michelle and we have to report that of all the soap stars that have taken their turn at the hosting chores and as special guest, it was Michelle’s performance that stood tall among all the rest. (And yes, Christian LeBlanc’s is right up there, too).

From her opening monologue where she supposed to be interrupted by an ACME comedy troupe member but isn’t (for awhile anyway), to her turn as an offbeat psychiatrist who while in session with her patient is prone to bursts of phrases like, “OMG”, to playing one-half of a deadbeat couple who are so bored with each other they try to come up with banal conversation, to a turn as “herself” on a Oprah-like talk show where the host tries to get her to name the biological father of her baby, Michelle played it all to the hilt with an infectious delivery, humor, and yet sparks of realism that made it completely relatable to the audience.

The ACME house was packed on Saturday night with many soap stars in attendance to cheer on Michelle including her castmates, Christian LeBlanc, Christel Khalil, Michael Muhney and Peter Bergman.  The Bay’s Lilly Melgar, and DAYS Arianne Zuker with husband, Kyle Lowder,  and Mark Hapka also were there.  The musical trio of Chalk FarM was the musical guest and performed two songs, one which we can’t get out of her head and loved called, Lie on Lie.

Eileen Davidson, Vince Van Patten & Caitlyn Jenner In Cast Of New Sitcom ‘Duke of the Valley’

A fictional apartment building featuring a set of very eccentric tenants in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California is the backdrop for a new indie comedy sitcom based on the memoirs of the late Dick Van Patten, best known for his role on the ABC series, Eight is Enough.

The show entitled, Duke of the Valley is co-created by Dick’s son, Vince Van Patten and his grandson, Duke Van Patten, who also wrote the series together. In addition, Vince is also directing and one of the producers of the series.

According to The Wrap, Caitlyn Jenner will star as Heather a transgender “white trash” woman who sells perfume at the counter of Macy’s.  Others in the cast include: Vince Van Patten’s wife and two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Eileen Davidson (Ashley, Y&R and Ex- DAYS and RHOBH), who plays Brenda, a washed-up actress who can’t accept that her career in showbiz is over.

Vince Van Patten takes on the role of a homeless killer named Skipy, who demands to camp outside the apartment building.  Meanwhile, Duke Van Patten plays himself as an actor in Hollywood living in a dingy apartment building in the San Fernando Valley that happens to be owned by his ‘crazy uncle Jimmy”, played by none other than James Van Patten.

Duke of the Valley is currently in production, but without a network or streaming service attached to it yet.  Thus, no release date has been set as this time either.

So, what do you think of the premise of Duke of the Valley featuring Caitlyn, Eileen and Vincent? Comment below!
