Y&R's Sharon Case Chats On Campy Sharon Newman, Shiktor & Eric Braeden's Comments on Twitter Drama!

Fans of The Young and the Restless are seeing another side of Sharon Newman these days, a sort of take-no-prisoners town pariah Sharon, who is out for money, power, and control and stumbling her way through it all at the same time! Sharon may soon learn she should never take on the Newman family dynasty and expect it to turn out well!
Daytime Emmy winner Sharon Case (Sharon) spoke with Soap Opera Uncensored’s Nelson Branco for an intriguing interview, where Case admits the difficulties and balancing act playing Crazy Sharon, Campy Sharon, or Doormat Sharon! She also addresses her concern for all the different men that Sharon has had in her life recently, and where things stand for the future of a reconciliation for Shadam or Shick. And she takes this opportunity to address Eric Braeden’s (Victor Newman) recent comments to On-Air On-Soaps when asked what happened to the Sharon and Victor romance in which he mentioned his displeasure over a colleagues tweets on Twitter, which to many seem to implicate that he was directing that comment to his co-star Case, although Braeden never mentioned her by name.
Here are some interesting excerpts from the interview below!
Case on if she wants to integrate the different sides of Sharon Newman: “I definitely want to integrate Crazy Sharon and All-Mighty Powerful Sharon; and I think that’s easily done. There were a few moments when Sharon was married to Jack where I got away with some campy stuff but never on a regular basis. As for my performance, I couldn’t do it without the writing. They both have to be there. The writing really backed me up. I couldn’t have gotten away with this without those lines.
Case on how she rationalized the Victor and Sharon pairing and what would motivate her character to be with a man who is the father of two of the most important men in her life and former lovers to boot!: “When I first had a meeting about this story, I didn’t understand how I was going to sell a love story between Sharon and Victor for obvious reasons. What motivated Sharon to fall in love with Victor when she’s in love with Adam and Nick? As an actor, I couldn’t seem to get there. What I did see right away was that I could play the fact that Sharon began enjoying the power and wealth she inherited from the marriage. As long as it’s about power and revenge, it makes sense because, as an actor, I have to get from point A to point B rather reasonably in order for it to make sense! I really hope Sharon doesn’t lose everything because Victor comes back home again. We’ve all seen that happen so many times before. I’d like to see all the aggressive changes Sharon made at Newman, in terms of expanding the cosmetic company, be successful ones resulting in stock prices skyrocketing and culminating with the stockholders making her CEO. What if Sharon did take over Newman? Or has to work alongside Victor as Co-CEO? Wouldn’t that be fascinating? For once, I’d like to see Sharon not fail.”
Case addressing comments made by Eric Braeden regarding Twitter and a colleague: “I think what Eric misunderstood and misinterpreted a tweet that someone told him about because he’s not on Twitter. My guess is that it was a misunderstanding because I would never say anything bad about Eric on Twitter. I mean, why would I? Or about anybody. I rarely voice any opinions about storyline on Twitter. What I tend to do is re-tweet one or two opinions about anything from a storyline, current events, or politics which everyone agrees on massively — whether they are negative or positive. That doesn’t mean I agree with them. I like hearing the discourse between the fans. That’s why I like Twitter. So I can’t imagine what tweet he’s referring to. You know, it’s so easy to misinterpret people’s tweets when you can only use 140 characters. Look at Michael Muhney — people are always misunderstanding his tweets! Even just last night that happened and he had to clarify his tweets. Things can be easily taken out of context, especially when you’re not reading someone’s entire timeline, etc. Twitter needs to be a bit more positive but I’m fine with people airing out their feelings. Listen, what are you going to do? It’s Twitter. It’s all just sound bytes in the end.”
Case on too many men in Sharon’s life! ” Over the year, I have expressed my concern over Sharon being paired with too many men. It waters her down. It waters everything down. But what can I do except say, “I told you so?” (Laughs)

I stopped watching y&r…. a couple of years ago… for GH. I really liked Sharon with Adam…. so he’s a bad guy… you love to hate. I liked the relationship… prior to this marriage… she had with Victor… he was taken with Sharon…. he liked his daughter-in-law… then it got sordid…. we shouldn’t have to question… what’s going on… no one.. in their right mind.. “in this day and age”… marry their “grandfather”. at least her kids… going to miss Noah and Sharons realtime bond… they so shared that.
it’s like victor and nikki… Sharon and Nick… quite frankly… Sharon’s right to step outside… being the appeasing wife… not to usurp authority… she’s got her own money… it would be timely.. if she… had a predilection… she wants to not be complacent… like she doesn’t know her place. imbibe. come hither for the heck of it… she doesn’t need to revere the “newmans” any more.
She needs to “toy” with the Newmans… the menfolk… Show Nikki, what she’s missing.
it would be fun… to see sharon… daliance’ with, say… Phyllis… she’s never really sparred.. with her nemisis… like giving Nick his past due… let them both know… she’s ticking…
She’s behaved… for years… men have sought her… and she’s never really gone past that… and… hopefully… as she states… this is her time to nuance.. and deliver… her coming out… like… “graduating” and giving us more intricate layers to Sharon… that she’s managed to intrigue us nevertheless.
Let me tell you Sharon Case is such a nice kind fantastic person in real life!!! She is very talented !!! It is so gross how just because she was given horrific Maria Bell writing garbage she has been massacred! Sharon has been the only real talent on this show in the past few months! Sharon Case has been a really good sport with Eric B and maria Bell together thinking up this storyline crap that everyone knew was not going to be cool with the fans! Well Maria Bell is gone and Eric B too bad RETIRE!!!! The show has this Phyllis person who should of been gone a long time ago 1 Chelsea and Adam OMG the WORST couple in daytime!!! Sharon Case is one of the nicest actors I know on daytime! She has done a fantastic job in spite of all the hate speech on that horrific facebook toxic Y&R board comments and else where! Sharon knew the fans would NOT go for this and she was RIGHT! She should get a Emmy again for this role! Bravo Sharon! YO Eric B RETIRE BUDDY!!!

Sharon Newman was best with Adam Newman. Their pairing was all kinds of wrong, but on screen they were all kinds of perfect! I will be back as a faithful Y&R watcher if this new writing team will fix what they have done to the characters of Sharon & Adam.
EB did misinterpret her tweets….the pairing of Shictor was disgusting because of the fatherly bond the 2 characters shared & the fact that he is the grandfather of her 2 children. If EB doesn’t understand that than he has bigger issues to deal with.

I LOVE Sharon Case and think she has taken a very difficult storyline and sold it in a major way! For all of the twists and turns in her character over the years, she has become a legacy character in her own right and the show would not be the same without her. I was really disappointed she wasn’t on the panel at the Paley Center for the 10,000th episode!
Personally I think the character has always had Daddy issues let’s explore that and see a good shrink and no men for awhile. I would also suggest calling Mr. Braeden for lunch that is what grownups do and apologize and get off twitter. And stay away from Nelson Branco do your interviews with a class act like Michael Fairman.

I don’t think this “interview” did anything to help Sharon Case and the Twitter situation. It seems too vague. She is entitled to do and say whatever she wants on her account, but the retweeting of posts seems unnecessary especially if someone can misinterpret them as she supporting what they say.
Further, she did not help the situation at all by her recent comment about “I can think of a long list of things one shouldn’t do to colleagues.” What is that supposed to mean? We can only draw conclusions to what she is hinting at. It just does not help. Why can’t they just keep their lips shut and talk about something else. It is so high school and it is sad.
As for what has happened to Sharon the character. I can’t stand her and her snarkiness at every turn. We had a few moments of the old Sharon when Faith was sick, but that smirk on her face, I just can’t stand it. I can’t wait to see how the new writing team are going to explain this one.
I would really really like to see Sharon without a man for more than an episode. She needs to hit rock bottom and climb her way out. A story like Nikki with her drinking or Harmony with her substance abuse could be good because you are not supposed to date anyone during recovery. Something like that could help.
Her relationship with Sam was good, but they messed that up. He was good for her and a good person. There was potential. Her relationship with Adam was good and then of all things she has forgiven him she can’t forgive his association with Patty. Come on? He took her baby, but she can’t forgive the Patty mess. And this WAS the time that all should have been forgiven with Adam because he is a changed man. Now whenever she interacts with him it borders on desperation or sheer snarkiness.
Right now I really could care less what happens to the character of Sharon she has become so distasteful to me. What I WANT TO SEE is Nick and Victoria finally warm up to Adam. I would love to see all the Newman children stand strong together. Adam doesn’t have to be the black sheep anymore. There are plenty of other men on the canvas that can do that.
Christine totally agree you know the character of Sam as played by the brilliant Sean Patrick Flannery would have worked if their had been better writing, he is a great actor just watched the movie Powder from the 90’s we have it on DVD he is so good in it I cry every time I watch it. But supposed fans of the show made fun of his looks etc it was the one casting decision they got right she was the Sharon I knew when she was with him. Phyllis should “hook up” with the detective (sorry- I don’t know his name). Then Nick should walk in on them when he tries to surprise Phyllis at home. All the while, Sharon is drowning in her mistakes. Her lust for power has blinded her to the ways she “digging her own grave”. So before she gains too much control, she is over-thrown. Then Nick and Sharon get close again, because they both comfort eachother. Then Nick helps Sharon realize that she should find what made her so passionate at Newman Industries and focus on that. She could maybe someday run a new facet to the company. I really loved Nick and Phyllis together at first, but they aren’t as close anymore. Maybe, if Sharon and Nick get back together, they can work out all of their past issues. The Victor and Sharon thing has been run into the ground (sorry-don’t mean to be harsh <3).

I think it was tactless,and in a medium that is rapid and immeadiate, retweeting tweets without reading it, makes her seem rapid and dumb. I think Ms. Case should swallow the bitter pill, and when your fans are tweeting something dispicalble about your co-stars, truth or not then maybe common sense would prevail and not encourage such behaviour.
All i know about Sharon lately on twitter is she hawks her costume jewellery and her friends lap it up by sending in their pictures. I wish her financial sucess, i hope she learns from this and not throw any of her costars under the bus.

Maybe you don’t get that the jewelry comes from a manufacturer. It’s not like Sharon has it sitting around her home. She has said numerous times that many items went very quickly and will be restocked when they become available.
Why should Sharon be contrite and regretful? She did nothing wrong except sympathize with her fans. Is that a crime? The story line which Eric has admitted was his idea was wrong and distasteful. Would it set better with you if she has been a huge cheerleader for it? Why do actors have to suck everything up and pretend to like things they know will do harm to their characters or upset their fans? Should she have just been appeasing to the almighty Eric Braeden who clearly has been dictating story for years now. This is just another form of bullying and harrassment on his part and it sounds like she wasn’t having it, and did her best to work with the writers in a way that would make the story more palatable but instead they threw HER and her character under the bus in favor of catering to Eric and his character. Sharon Case did her part, by showing up and selling this story line and doing it with class and grace. The only person crying now because it didn’t work out the way he wanted it to, is Eric Braeden.

Sharon Case seems like an articulate, classy woman. I haven’t read much about her, but I’ve always thought her to be a stunningly beautiful and talented actress.
As for Sharon Newman, I didn’t care much at first for her marriage to Victor. It seemed like Y&R was changing to the bed hopping incestuous superficial ways of B&B. HOWEVER, now I’m loving it, because Victor’s “true” wife Nikki is on the outside, while the woman she’s belittled over the years, Sharon, is Victor’s legal wife, who has the keys to the kingdom. Though I’m not confident the writers will do so, I’d like to see Sharon become a confident independent woman who doesn’t need a man (for the intermediate future), and I’d like to see Sharon stick it to everyone. It’s time to see the fortunes of Genoa City’s residents be switched up a little. Maybe it’s time for bullying Victor and uppity Nikki to return to their humble roots, and maybe learn something about themselves this time…….

I think the whole YnR show just stinks these days. Too many non skilled actors..too many actors period to do good solid S/Ls. People on twitter need to get a life, so much can go wrong or be misunderstood on it, and one needs to be smart enough to get that.
That said I haven’t enjoyed SC since her early days….or with Sam or with Adam.
Sorry but Sharon Case’s action’s were unprofessional and wrong. If they decided to go back to Shick and JM retweeted and responded the way she did he would get blasted. SC and NB have been in full attack of Shicktor and EB and for them to feign innocence now makes them look worse.
Come on..JM has expressed more than once that he prefers the Nick/Phylis pairing and has great fun working with Michelle Stafford (and the Shick fans did not like it one bit and in a way i also understand their frustration..but it is part of the soap opera games imo) ! And i get it a quite ‘good guy’ like Nick being with an hellreaser like Phylis make for much more fun tv drama and good tv, there is more conflicts and challenge and for actors it is more exiting to play, the same with Sharon and Adam and yep Sharon Case loves to work with Michael Muhney for the same type of reasons, it is such obvious and understandable.

JM never ever said he likes Nick with Phyllis at all, In fact he did say many of his favorite scenes have been with Sharon and as hard as it was he loved the scenes with him Cassie and Sharon when Cassie died he said they had the best stories. I saw his interviews
Jenni, JM has said that he likes Nick with Phyllis. I have seen his interviews too and he admitted his prefence for Phick over Shick in one of them. I remember that interview clearly (I just can’t remember the website I read the it on) because it changed my opinion about him.

Sounds like fancy footwork trying to get out of taking responsibility for the tweet the EB had a right to be angry about. Bringing up MM tweets is just deflection from her own problems. Not impressed. She’s not writing the show, she’s playing a part – that’s her job.
I want to see Sharon and Nick reunite. I want a the new team of writers to show how Shick’s life fell apart after Cassie died by having them both admit that they moved on to liars and people that attempted to murder people. They were both running away from their pain and got with the wrong people thinking it would help but in the end it comes full circle that both relationships were about Cassie’s death.
If Eric didn’t read it firsthand, he should disregard or go to Sharon and ask her about it. They supposedly are close. Enough said about Twitter. There was life before it.

She made us fall in love. cry. scared when she was being attacked, hurt for her what she has gone through she is so beautiful and if you follow twitter she always answers her fans more than any other cast member. She is a beautiful person but be from that she is from the mid west. Very down to earth.
Kelly, I think Sharon Case is talented but winning an Emmy means nothing, it’s a popularity contest. If it was based on talent, General Hospital’s Natalia Livingston wouldn’t have because at the time, she began her lines with UM, smiled when her character was supposed to be upset and blinked her eyes rapidly.
Grow up people, Twitter is a brainless exercise in commentary, based on gut reactions, and do not include the entire scope of a person’s perspective, my advice to actors, stop doing these things, or responding to the small two bit, writers, who are simply trying to get a reaction. Why don’t these actors have publicist, to filter these “so called news worthy messages” that the fan’s are supposedly dying to know. News flash, Twitter, is nothing but gossip, half truths, opinions of a few who do not know the real story, and the fans have become embroiled into this utter gossip, not based on fact, or truth…….advice to actors, shut up, or at least talk to a legitimate reporter, and there are fewer of them today. Any real actor would speak to Michael Fairman to discuss their role,etc. first or go to Soap Opera Digest. they are the only two reliable press that is fair and accurate.

i dont get it, shes getting a real storyline in a long time because she paired with victor, if she could be with a man who stole her child tormented a pregnant woman, was willing to let her go to jail she can be with victor, why would u retweet a post if its negative about a fellow actor whom you know u are in a storyline with its stupid, i dont see her re tweeting the negative stuff about the writers that her followers tweet, she talked about to many men for sharon its been that way for years deigo cameron nick, she tried to get with victor all that was in less than 1 year, being paired with victor is giving her a great stroyline with endless possiblilties
I was undoubtedly disgusted by the story line of Sharon Case and Eric Braeden it made my stomach turn. I wondered what in the world Sharon Case had done wrong to get this very bad storyline. I think Sharon can be a power woman without being hated by everyone. I hope that the new writers make her strong and likeable in the future. I have always like her, but do no like her in this storyline. Eric Braeden has had his day as a handsome man desireable man, but those days have passed and he is not attractive any longer and he looks old. Nothing wrong with old but come on he needs to be put out to pasture along with his over paid partner Melody Scott. But the one person who believes she is a woman show is Michelle Stafford. With all the talented actors on young and the restless why is she the only one with all the air time. I can’t stand her to see her face anymore. She appears to be condescending and narcissistic in real life and she keeps repeating her lines. Its like she hijacked the show and no one can do anything about it. P l e e e s e.
i love sharon case! i really don’t like wat they have done with sharon newman. what they need to do is bring her back up 2 the top. n i no they can cuz its soap. make her spend more time with her kids n let her b single 4 a while. when she catch her self den they n pair her back with her soulmate nick.
I love and support Sharon I am not happy what these characters have been doing and treating her. It is such a form of harassment and bulling.
The damage has been done by pandering to one actor for far too long. The low ratings the lack of balance on this program has been directly a consequence of the Victor Victorious hour. Its wrong, its tiresome, its terribly repetitive and it goes on every year, every week without a break.
They abuse superb actors like Stephen Nichols to pander to and pretend one character alone is a god figure. To be honest, if the new regime continues this and uses super actors merely to prop one, I am so outta here and cancellation seems natural. After all, it truely means no growth, no character development unless the surname is Newman and frankly that is NOT NEW AT ALL.
JT after sitting down and forcing myself to watch this weeks shows I agree. You know that saying it is like a bad train wreck but you can’t stop watching. By the way Sharon Case in her black bra and green panties as my husband would say hot no wonder EB wanted to do this storyline. LOL! My girlfriend in California who does follow her on Twitter says she seems to have shut it down is he EB finally happy have we kissed everyone’s tail enough.

I have always liked the charactor of Sharon, but what they’ve done to her is messed up. Why can’t she be successful and hapily married to Adam,yes Adam, because Nick is a lost cause,and a dog PERIOD.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

Monday on Entertainment Tonight, the second set of nominations for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced which included the highly-coveted Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actress and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.
ET followed suit after Extra announced the nominees, as previously reported, in the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actor and Outstanding Daytime Talk Host.
Now, five leading ladies of the soaps are vying for the gold for Lead Actress and the category marked the first-ever nominations for CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates when two actresses made the final cut. Only General Hospital is not represented among the actresses this year after Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took home the trophy last year.

THE FIVE LEADING LADIES OF THE SOAPS ARE …
The 2026 Lead Actress nominees are: Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera), Days of Our Lives, Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree), Beyond the Gates, Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers), The Young and the Restless, Heather Tom (Katie Logan), The Bold and the Beautiful, and Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), Beyond the Gates.
This marks the first Daytime Emmy nominations for Karla Mosley and Tamara Tunie. In addition, this marks the first-time in her career that Stacy Haiduk had received a Lead Actress nod after two Supporting Actress nominations.
Meanwhile, Michelle Stafford had previously won 3 Emmys – 2 for Lead Actress and 1 for Supporting, but this recognition makes it her 11th overall nomination.
Heather Tom currently is tied for the most all-time Daytime Emmy wins with One Life to Live alum and General Hospital guest star, Erika Slezak. The B&B star has 19 nominations throughout her career.

DAYTIME TALK SERIES
In the Outstanding Daytime Talk Series category, the nominees are: 3rd Hour of Today, The Drew Barrymore Show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Live with Kelly and Mark, Today with Jenna and Friends and The View.
“We’re proud to honor the extraordinary talent and creative teams whose work continues to define and elevate daytime television,” NATAS president and CEO Adam Sharp said in a statement on the nominations. “As the Daytime landscape evolves and new forms of storytelling emerge, we remain committed to recognizing the innovation happening across the industry.”
The rest of the nominations will be revealed tomorrow on Tuesday July 14 starting on The View and then the full list of nominees in both the main and creative arts will be released by NATAS. The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards are slated for October 30th in Hollywood, California.

‘General Hospital’ Marks Unprecedented 16,000th Episode Milestone with New Cast Photo
Today’s Monday, July 13 episode of General Hospital marks it 16,000 episode to air on the ABC television network. It is a remarkable milestone. The previous television record was held by Guiding Light which clocked in at 15,762 episodes before it went off the air on CBS in 2009.
To mark the occasion, the cast, crew and creative team of General Hospital celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony on the Prospect Studios lot in Los Angeles back on Monday, June 1, 2026.
In addition, GH has released a new cast photo taken the day of the on set celebration. Pictured in the photo are front row: Rory Gibson, Finn Carr, Kayden Brenna Tokarski, Asher Antonyzyn, Giovanni Mazza, Braedyn Bruner, Dean Geyer and Nathan Dean.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE 16,000th Episode?
The 16,000th episode will feature Jason Morgan returning to the town of Port Charles, Anna and Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) reuniting, and a new surgeon, Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) joining the staff of ‘General Hospital.’
GENERAL HOSPITAL HOLDS SEVERAL RECORDS
Now in its 64th year, Emmy Award-winning daytime drama General Hospital is currently both the longest-running scripted American drama and the longest-running American soap opera currently in production.
General Hospital holds the record for the most Outstanding Daytime Drama award wins, taking home the prestigious Daytime Emmy Award a record 18 times. Will they do it again and make it 19 in 2026?
