Y&R's Sharon Case Talks The Twists And Turns Of "Sully" Baby Drama & Her Leading Men!

Photo Credit: Edward McGowan/Plain Joe Studios

How long can you hold on to a secret?  Well, if you’re The Young and the Restless Sharon (Sharon Case), you certainly have plenty of experience in it.  For more than a year, the CBS daytime drama’s executive producer and head writer, Chuck Pratt Jr. has been weaving a tale where at first an unassuming Sharon falls victim to a vindictive doctor with a grudge against Sharon’s long time love, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).  However, there was already a flag on the play before that! Sharon had miscarried Dylan’s (Steve Burton) baby and never told him.  Shortly thereafter. she entered the psychiatrist facility Fairview, and that’s when life-changing events, deceptions, and a baby seemingly out of nowhere came into Sharon’s orbit.

Thanks to Dr, Anderson’s (Elizabeth Bogush) machinations, Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) newborn son with Nick is kidnapped, and given to Sharon (who doesn’t even remember giving birth). Meanwhile, Nick and Sage grieve the loss of their son who they think has “died”, while Adam (Justin Hartley) is revealed to be the true baby daddy only that is being kept under wraps.  Later, Sage figures out that her baby Christian is now Sharon’s baby named “Sully”, and confronts Sharon who now also has figured out the truth.   Next, poor Sage perishes in a terrible car crash on her way to tell Nick his “son” is alive.  Leaving, Sharon as the one person who knows the explosive truth that can destroy her happiness with Dylan!  What will she do next?

On-Air On-Soaps sat down with Y&R’s enduring star, Sharon Case to get all her insights on the twisty road of her current storyline, and being smack dab in the middle of another arc where Sharon’s house of cards can come tumbling down at any given moment.  In our entertaining and candid chat, Sharon reveals if she thinks her on-screen alter ego can survive if the truth about baby Sully comes to light.  Plus, she weighs-in on her leading men: Steve Burton, Joshua Morrow, and potentially Justin Hartley, if the show were to visit the Shadam romance.

One thing is clear, no matter how dramatic, outlandish, or complex, Sharon Case is always present to give 110% commitment to the material she is given, which has continued to translate into garnering her legions of fans worldwide, who are always concerned about just what mess Sharon is going to find herself next!  Here’s what this Daytime Emmy winner had to say about all the developments of Genoa City’s Sharon’s current plight.

When you first got into this story, and Sharon lost her baby, and then she went to Fairview and was being drugged … when were you enlightened into what this story was actually going to turn out to be, and what was going on?

SHARON:  I didn’t understand what was going on, originally.  It didn’t dawn on me until months later.  No one sits down with me and tells me anything, nor do I ask.  I like to just see what happens, and be surprised.   It made me realize that this is one large storyline, probably around January of this year.  I thought, “Wow, we have been playing this storyline for a long time, and I can see where it is going now.”   Last summer when they put Sharon in Fairview that is all I knew.  I was going to Fairview, and then all of a sudden it turned into her getting a baby at Fairview.   I just remember when I heard my character was going back to Fairview.  I thought, “Oh, no.  Not Fairview.”  And, the only reason I don’t like going to Fairview is that I don’t get to wear any cute outfits! (Laughs)

You can’t be sexy Sharon all glammed up in Fairview.  I can see that could pose a major problem! (Laughs)

SHARON:   What can you wear at Fairview?  I said, “How long will I be actually in Fairview?”  The powers-that-be said, “Three months.”  I went, “No!  Not the whole summer!  What about all my cute summer dresses? (Laughs)  It’s my favorite time of year.”

When Dr. Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush) was drugging  Sharon it was so cruel.  Was that at all hard for you to play?  Usually you are up for anything the show throws at you.

SHARON:   I was up for anything.  When they do roll the storyline out, and I see the scripts I am always ready to go.  I always say, “It sounds like fun to me!”

What did you think about the performances of Elizabeth Bogush, who played evil Dr. Anderson?  She played the character so creepy!

SHARON:  She was great.  Elizabeth was so creepy in a “Stepford Wives” kind of way.  I had no idea when I went into the scenes in the hospital setting what the character would be, other than here is the doctor.  I honestly did not know I would end up having this long storyline, and the character of Sharon would have this relationship with her.  Every day for several months it was me and Elizabeth in the make-up chair getting ready for our scenes, and that was my life with her during her run on the show.  It would be just me and her at Fairview, and sometimes Sharon would have a visitor, but then Dr. Anderson didn’t allow any visitors after awhile … well, just Patty (Stacy Haiduk)! (Laughs)  It’s fun how your on-screen life can change here at Y&R.  Last summer it was Sharon, Patty, and Elizabeth.  It was hilarious!

Let’s recap for a moment:  Sharon miscarried Dylan’s (Steve Burton) baby, and she did not tell him.  That was her first “oops” in all of this.   She keeps repeating this ‘hiding a secret’ pattern, and it usually involves a baby!

SHARON:  Sharon is not good at being honest with her man.  There are people like that, and more out there than you think.  Sometimes you see a character on a soap opera doing something wrong.  The fans will then say, “She has got to stop that!  She is doing something wrong.”  Like it’s unheard of?   Actually, I think it’s the norm, although maybe it’s just the people I hang around with! (Laughs)

Would you then say, ‘always being afraid to lose her man’ is definitely a common theme for Sharon?

SHARON:  All the relationships Sharon has been in have fallen apart, and all the people around her relationships have also fallen apart.  Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) have, and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor‘s (Eric Braeden), so it’s a worry for her.

When you found out the next part of the story, where Sharon thinks she gave birth and would get baby Christian, and it was really Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) newborn baby, what was your initial reaction to that major plot point?

SHARON:  I look back on the part in the story where Sage got pregnant, and who knew all of this would come out of that?  When you look at a long and intricate storyline like this, it’s interesting to look back on it.  There was a whole bible of a storyline written here that involved many people.

Y&R executive producer and head writer, Chuck Pratt Jr. has laid out a long term story here that has many far-reaching tentacles.  It seems reminiscent of the type of story Y&R creator, the late Bill Bell, would develop and tell.  Would you agree?

SHARON:  It has the long storyline with many twists and turns that involves many people, and it is slowly told over a year.  That is the Bill Bell style of soap writing.  I am always surprised to read a script and find out what happens next.  The actors on set are always excited going, “Do you know what happens after this?  I’m dying to know!” The storylines shock us, and surprise us, and we like that.

The last time Sharon kept a massive deception was during the whole Summer (Hunter King) paternity DNA results, and here she goes again!  Did you at some point go, “Oh, my God?  I am doing another baby deception?”

SHARON:  I guess people repeat their behavior.

Recently, Sharon had a freak out after a nightmare about Sage, and then when she woke up she reached for her pills in her nightstand.  Were those her meds?

SHARON:  Those were Sharon’s every day bipolar meds.  She took them out to take one, but then decided to not take them, and to actually stop taking them all together. Maybe she thought that she wanted to stay in control, thus she decided against taking them at that point.

What did you think of the car crash that ultimately killed off Sage, and saw Kelly Sullivan’s exit from Y&R?  What did you think of your final scenes with her?

SHARON:  Kelly Sullivan was great as Sage.  I worked with her for a long time, and I was sad to see her go.  She had become part of the family.  The car crash scenes came out really great.  It was a car crash scene where someone dies, and you have a baby there on top of it, and I’m wearing high heels out in the street!  For as much as we had to do it went really well, and turned out very good.  I am glad that in the last scenes I did with Kelly that there was something very special like that for us.  They were really serious and emotional series of scenes.

When you have to play Sharon having haunting visions of Sage, how do you perform and tape those scenes?

SHARON:  We do two passes it at.  We do a normal master of the scene, and then the camera resets in my position, or hers, and then we run the scene again where one of us is acting straight to the camera.  I don’t prefer doing that.  Some performers, such as singers play right to the camera.  A lot of performers in all genres play right to the camera, so you think it shouldn’t be that weird for me to play to the camera.  I’m a performer, but I am just used to doing it a different way.  Playing the role of Sharon I am never looking at the camera.  So when I have to do that it’s weird.

Does Sharon’s nightmares, regarding Sage taunting her, make Sharon want to shut the truth down some more  … or purge herself and finally come clean?

SHARON:   She’s back and forth on that.  Some days she talks to Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and feels she has to say the truth.  But then she has always stopped from doing that, because she thinks: “How?  How am I going to say the truth?  What will be the fallout?”  She feels she must do it, and it’s got to be done, but then when she goes to do it she thinks that there is no way that she can.

What do you think about the relationship dynamic between Mariah and her mother Sharon is in all of this?  Mariah seems to be acting like the mother in the relationship extolling advice, et al! (Laughs)

SHARON:  I love it, and Camryn and I were just talking about that.  We were saying to each other how these characters have this relationship now where they keep each others secrets, and they are each others confidantes, and they have each others back.  Sometimes there is even a little bit of comedy in that.  It reminds me kind of Sharon and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) at times.  Although Sharon and Nikki are adversaries, they do love each other.  Sharon and Mariah are clearly a little different of a relationship, but I will say they kind of remind me of Lucy and Ethel from “I Love Lucy”.  A lot of this storyline has allowed for Sharon and Mariah to be on-screen together a lot, and supporting each other through the story.  I love building the mother/daughter relationship up, and showing all of these dramatic incidents, and the secrets that we share.  It really builds the relationship that Sharon and Mariah have between them.  I am very glad about that.

Camryn Grimes has been terrific in the role of Mariah.  After playing your little girl Cassie so many years ago, what do you think of her as this all grown-up actress?

SHARON:  She is unbelievable in this role!  She played Cassie, who was this very sweet simple little girl to now this complex, funny, interesting, and kind of dark, but real woman Mariah, who also happens to be Sharon’s other daughter.

Is Sharon partly afraid that Mariah could crumble and reveal the truth about baby Sully, or even betray her, and thus screw up Sharon’s plans?

SHARON:  Yes.  I think Sharon thinks that Mariah could do that.

Is there a certain manipulation Sharon might do to Mariah to keep her from spilling the beans?

SHARON:   No.  I think Sharon just keeps bringing it up all the time … constantly. (Laughs)   She will go, “You can’t tell anyone, you know.” (Laughs)  She does this every day. (Laughs)

Does Sharon think right now she has this perfect life with Dylan and Sully, therefore she does not want to endanger that happiness?

SHARON:  Sharon does think this is the perfect life for her, for now.  If she went back to how she felt having the perfect family with Nick and Cassie, was that better or worse? She wouldn’t have changed that for anything in the world, but things change, and life moves on.  She is just happy to land in a similar place in her life again.  Sharon feels lucky to have Dylan, family, and children … all good things.

Sharon is very concerned that if Dylan knew she lost the baby originally, and that Sully is not his biological child, that it would crush him.  After all, he went through this whole similar scenario once before!

SHARON:  Of course, and it would break up Sharon’s family.  Losing Cassie broke up her family before.  Losing this child could do the same thing.  What if Dylan reacted the same way as Nick and loses it, and it breaks up their marriage?  And also, Sharon doesn’t want Dylan to go through what he went through before.  That loss of a child made him and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) break up, and this could do the same.  Sharon just doesn’t want to mess around with her relationship and her marriage.  I don’t blame her.

Meanwhile, here we have Nick (Joshua Morrow) who is grieving the loss of Sage, and he’s lost.    It’s clear to all that Sharon loves Nick.  We see that in their scenes together now.

SHARON:  She really does love Nick.  But, I love how in the story with Sharon being in love with Dylan we found a way for her to love Nick, and be really open about that, and how she does feel, which is:  “Love ya.  Will always love ya.  But, circumstances are that we are not together.  Doesn’t mean I don’t love ya.”  Sharon obviously knows Nick is in pain, but he married Sage, and Sharon married Dylan.  I guess you get to the point in your life where Sharon is and a lot has happened.  You have been married a few times, and you are not just in love with one person.  There is enough real estate for a couple of people in her heart.

She must think that if Nick found out that she once again hid the truth from him about another paternity situation, he would hate her yet again!

SHARON:  Yes, he would!  Remember, they almost got married.  They were at the altar and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) came back and blew the whole thing out of the water, and they never got back together since then.  I think it’s a long road, but part of the road if Sharon and Nick were ever getting back together are coming out of these casual everyday family scenes.  These are where Sharon and Dylan are hanging out with the kids, and Nick’s over there too, and there’s interaction.  These are little seeds where things grow from every time you have more experience with someone.

Could you see Sharon wanting to be with the baby and Nick, should the truth come out at the expense of Dylan in her life?

SHARON:  No, not just suddenly up and leaving Dylan, and wanting to be with Nick.  I think that would be weird.  I could see a slow progression of something like that happening though.

Have you thought about what would happen if Sharon found out that Adam (Justin Hartley) is actually Sully, AKA Christian’s baby’s daddy?

SHARON:  Sharon and Adam haven’t been together for a long time.  I always thought they were a great couple.  Maybe this would be the thing that brings them together.

Photo Credit: Edward McGowan/Plain oe Studios

I was thinking this the entire time, and going over in my head how Chuck Pratt might be constructing the story long term.  At one point I thought they were playing the attraction between Adam and Sharon, when he was holding the baby and she was in the scene with him.  That’s when I thought, “Oh, my God.  They are finally going to get Shadam back together at some point!”  I thought that would be the greatest twist in the whole story arc.

SHARON:   The story is brilliant.  I think Chuck has done a great job with this.  I also though that Adam and Sharon getting back together would be the greatest twist through all of this.  Their love story happened a long time ago, and we are still in the middle of many twists in the story.  It hasn’t landed there yet, and we will see if it even does.  But what a great way for Sharon and Adam to get back together, and there is this baby!  What an interesting way to tell the story.  But, I don’t know if it ends there, or even happens!  But yes, it certainly had crossed my mind, and everyone else’s mind.  Shadam is a fun couple.

And one of your favorites!

SHARON: Yes, along with Nick and Sharon, Brad (Don Diamont) and Sharon, and Jack (Peter Bergman) and Sharon … (Laughs)

What’s the deal, Sharon Case?  You get to work with all the hot guys on the show!   Do you make a request like, “I must work with all the hot guys on the set?” (Laughs)

SHARON:  I never ask for the hot guys.  They just force them on me! (Laughs)  By the way, I don’t mind.  I am a professional actress, so I don’t want to complain. (Laughs)

What are the fans on social media saying to you about Sharon’s current story plight?  Are they supportive of her, or are they fed up with her shenanigans at this point?

SHARON:   I get a lot of positive things about Sharon and Dylan.  I also get positive things of people wanting Sharon and Nick back together.  And then the third thing I always hear is that they are tired of Sharon getting the short end of the stick in a storyline, and being not so well liked.  But, I do think that is starting to change, and that Sharon is not so hated anymore, either.  There was a time where I think she was hated all over town.  However, now there are characters in Genoa City who are becoming friendlier to Sharon, like Abby, and maybe possibly Victoria (Amelia Heinle). People who were really down on her, and had nothing nice to say about her.  I think it’s finally turning around.

I always come back to the heroine Sharon, and how she has gotten far away from that over time and years on the show, and from different writing regimes.  She has done some pretty horrible things, where you still feel kind of bad for her, though.

SHARON:  Bad things have to happen, because someone has to do it on a soap.  Back in the old days Sharon was always the damsel the distress, and Phyllis was the bad person perpetrating all of the crimes.  But at that point, I did feel there were a lot of complaints that Sharon was truly was a damsel in distress.  She wasn’t very colorful.  So now over the years we have made her do bad things.  Maybe they took that too far over the years of her just being bad without justification, but I think we really cleaned all that up when we discovered Sharon was bipolar.  It gave motive, and reason for all of that.  I really like where Sharon is now, and how she has ended up, where she is still a heroine and a romantic lead.  But you know, all romantic leads are supposed to be a little crazy.  That’s in the text book of writing these kinds of characters.

Look at Erika Slezak (Ex-Viki)!  She was the leading heroine and lady of One Life to Live, and the character of Viki suffered from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and mental illness, too!

SHARON: Yes! Everybody is flawed.

But let’s be real … Sharon definitely has had an ongoing issue of baby switches!

SHARON:  Yes, but this one is not her fault!  I think lately they have been writing that when she does something wrong she didn’t mean to, and it’s not her fault.  Sharon hasn’t done anything bad that is her fault.  For those fans who are saying: “I don’t want her to get the short end of the stick, anymore,” things have been slowly, but surely turning around over the last few years with Sharon not getting the short end of the stick.  Sharon was handed a baby, and now she has to make a hard decision.  What wouldn’t have been the short end of the stick?  Sage died in a car crash!  I think lately, Sharon has had a lot of great story and exposure with many characters on the show, which I love.

Let’s talk about your leading men!

SHARON: Yes, I love talking about them!

So let’s start with Steve Burton.  What did you think of him when you first met him?  And, what do you think of him now?

SHARON:  When I first met Steve we weren’t working together at all.  I didn’t know that we ever would.  He was involved in another storyline, and what tends to happen sometimes is we don’t see the person ever, so we don’t get to know them.  As an example:  Justin Hartley.  I have probably seen him 4 or 5 times, ever.  We were not in the same storyline.  If I see Justin, it’s like less than 60 seconds at a time.  That is how it was for me and Steve for a long time.  Then, they put us together in a storyline.  I went, “Oh, my God.  I can’t believe it!”  Joshua always makes fun of me all the time for this, but I was excited, because I was going to be in a storyline with Jason! (Laughs)  I watched Steve as Jason on GH for so long, and he was so amazing in the role.  He was this dark assassin dude, and I didn’t watch the show that closely.  So, I saw him as a hit man, and that is what I gleaned from his character, and I love hit men! (Laughs)   So, this was very exciting for me to work with him.  Then I start working with Steve, and the character he is now playing (Dylan) and he is nothing like Jason.  Steve is really nice!  He wasn’t a hit man.  I am going to have to ask Steve to make an adjustment. (Laughs)

Next up, give me your thoughts on Joshua Morrow.  He is still one of my favorite people, ever.  When I come to visit the set this guy steps up.  He’s funny, and he’s always here for Team Y&R!

SHARON:   Yes, I feel the same, and in many ways.  Joshua is one of my favorite people on the show.  He’s one of my favorite actors that I have ever worked with.  Also, he is one of the most brilliant, charming, connected, funny, grounded people that I have ever met.  Joshua is so colorful, great, and easy, and open.   I couldn’t have asked for a better co-star, and I couldn’t have dreamt it any better to have someone like that to work with, and to have such a long term relationship with.  We know each other so well now.  We can just look at each other onstage and know what we are thinking, and start laughing.

And then we come to Mr. Justin Hartley.  What are your thoughts on this talented gent?

SHARON:  As I said, I have barely met him, and still to this day!  When he came on to the show, he had really big shoes to fill.  He had a lot of nuances of how Michael Muhney played the character, and that is really unusual to be able to do that.  I thought Justin was a very smart, and clever actor.  Justin is a really handsome guy, too!

In closing, I am sure Sharon fans will want to know: Do you think Sharon can come through this latest ordeal OK?  Heaven forbid … we don’t want to see her back at Fairview.

SHARON:  I think there will be a great ending as great as this whole story has been.   I don’t think there will ultimately be a sad ending for Sharon, but again, I don’t know what is going to happen.  I can say that I am not concerned that something terrible is going to happen in the end to her.  Something has to happen where everyone figures out the truth, and the truth hurts, but beyond that I think she will survive it.  I mean, how many truths have we all come back from in our own lives?  We all have to survive and solider on with our lives.  It happens all of the time, and we are still here.

So, how do you think the true identity of baby Sully will be revealed to all?  Would you like to see a Shadam romance revisited?  Are you rooting for Dylan and Sharon to make it through this whole ordeal, or can you see a Sharon and Nick finding their way back to each other in the near future? What have you thoughts about all the twists and turns of Y&R’s latest baby tale?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

I Hate this story and I hate the fact that Y&R killed off Sage. We fans feel robbed from waiting for Nick and Sage to find out Christian is alive. I’m sick of Sharon always getting away with her lies and crimes, same as Victor. Sharon cannot be that dumb,to come home with a baby, and she has no breast milk, no stitches, no soreness, and it never dawned on her that she couldn’t have had a baby. Dylan is just as dumb. Anyone knows you cannot make love for 5-6 weeks after delivering a baby.Yet Sharon and Dylan take the baby home and that night they make love.. I have been watching since 1973 but I’m about fed up with the way Y&R or should I say “PRATT” caters to EB,the Victor Character. They give him all the winning stories and coming out on top, without any concern for Fans who love other Characters. What is the point of watching Y&R if any story they come out with, its always going to end with Victor coming out on top. A Judge sentenced him to TEN YEARS,there is No Way he should get out early, yet soap opera digest talks about Victor’s revenge. Revenge?? He is pathetic when he keeps saying his family put him in there, when it was his crimes that did.I get so sick of hearing him say that.Y&R is ridiculous with pairing up couples, Billy is Jack’s Wayyyyy younger brother and Phyllis is a grandmother. Daniel has to be in upper twentys if Summer is 21. Most of all. We Fans are so tired of Victor turning on Adam all the time. He abandoned Adam, the same way his father did to him. Victor needs to be written off, and make Adam front and center with the Newman family. Its suppose to be the Young and restless show, not the Victor show. If Y&R ever had one employee that tunes in to all the Y&R fan groups, they would see how Lots of people are getting sick of Victor and threatening to stop watching.

Sometimes thats life! Eric wins all the time as does the Road Runner versus Wiley Coyote! BUT, we still watch those cartoons even though we know how they will end.

Everything you said, Joan. “They” did kill off Sage….bad move. Now, Chloe is coming back ( whom, I suspect is the mystery woman helping Victor frame Adam) to add more stupid drama.
But, what makes me want to scream is the fact that Sharon’s persona was killed off. This poor woman has been thrown around so much…..weathered so many useless storms for lack of writing imagination and foresight.

        Hi, Lucia.
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to reply.
I think I may have given you the wrong impression. I have written the hopping from bed to bed, including Sharon, ad nauseam. As a matter of fact, when Sharon married Victor, I remember stating that they may as well indulge in orgies….have a sex-fest and get it all out of their systems.
I was not comparing Sharon with Chelsea. I just never took to the character.
I would have never given my child up regardless of the circumstances. It’s a soap. I am glad you like Chelsea…..that’s your opinion.
I cannot remember exactly why she gave her son up….she was no child. Chelsea could have found a way. Are we sure Billy didn’t blackmail her? I cannot remember. Afterall, Chelsea was a manipulative sewer rat who was brought to GC under dubious conditions by Victor the Great.
If you are, at all, familiar with my writing, you may conclude that I can be quite brutal when it comes to some characters, including Sharon. I call ’em as I see ’em. It’s a personal perspective of people and situations.
As far as Victor and Meredith? I have made my feeling and concept of their ‘coupling’ farce well known on another site. Shame on her ( she’s no babe in the woods) for making herself so accommodating to Victor….stupid woman can’t see two feet in front of her. She’s just beginning to see he has actually used her.
These writers are driving me as nuts as Sharon. Who are they kidding??

I totally agree with you. I have been watching the show on and off since the mid eighties, and no way is the show the same caliber now as it was then. As I said in previous posts, Victor isi prison and he is still doing whatever the hell he wants. Not to me to mention how ignorant they are making Jack with the whole Billy situation. When he wwwas talking to Billy about the trial, and his refusal was similar to what Phyllis said, don’t you think h he woud be smart enough to put the pieces together. He did catch her at the a couple times, not to mention one of those times in just Billy’s shirt. And how could Sharon not know she was pregnant? I still say bring back Jess Walton on a more permanent basis. She is connected to the Abbotts as well as the Winters family for two reasons: Collin, and ever since Devon got Katherine’s money she has always worried about its use. And remember she is Lauren’s sister. They need to bring back the much talented “vets” they have in “storage” out, and bring the show back to its glory days. Jill had a wonderful cat fight with Hilary, not to mention her run ins with Esther and Nikki, and her wonderful performance about te remodeling of the Chancellor estate. She made excellent use of her to brief stay. If they send Sharon to Fairview yet again, I think I will take a break, not to mention Victor getting a slap on the wrist.

Lol, we all said this when this complete fiasco first started. The breast milk could be explained away by taking meds to stop lactation. But, what about bleeding after birth….sometimes for days on end.
I am sorry, but, I am having a hard time with the Hilary situation; the indomitable Jack turned pussy-cat ( in more ways than one. EEK!!), Billy and Phyllis….whom I want to punch out.
“Oh, we gotta stop this”, but she goes back for more; the circus in the courtroom…..same, same, and more same. Puppets.
But, hey; listen to Timmm. He always makes sense to me. The roadrunner must be so tired of running by now, my Timmmy. LOL.

No more ghosts call Ghostbusters and get rid of that ratchet little which herb Sage and let Sharon an Adam get close like they used to be and talk about this and I’m sure he will want her to keep Sully , Chelsea’s never going to want the herb plants baby to remind her that Adam had sex with sage besides Chelsea didn’t even want her firstborn she doesn’t even think about him.

What show you watching. Chelsea never let Adam and Sage’s ONS bother her considering she was about bout marry Billy at the time. She was always friendly to Sage when I never thought she should have. To say Chelsea wouldn’t raise that kid with Adam is a big reach.

Chelsea wasn’t in a good place to give Johnny a good life so she gave him up for adoption. It wasn’t that she didn’t want him

Trying to erase Chelsea from Adam’s life cause Sharon has a child that doesn’t belong to her is a damn joke.

And Sharon fan, nice to see you leave the same comment today under MCE’s facebook chat video, only used actual name there. You are the same person that trolls MCE with hate on twitter as well and makes stuff up about her all because you don’t have Shadam as a couple. It’s a shame a fictional couple makes you throw hate to a real person you don’t even know.

The Sully/Christian dilemma has nothing to do with Chelsea. It’s all on Sharon. But, I do not condemn her only because she is not in her right mind. Sharon is sinking lower and lower and I wish it would stop already. I want Sharon to stay…..alive and well.
I care not what happens to Chelsea except that I would not want Connor to be motherless. Other than that; well……
Chelsea tried to pass Connor off as Dylan’s. This guy is so easy to fool. Pathetic.
The difference is Chelsea knew exactly what she was doing; whereas Sharon is sick….not her fault. Mariah tried helping her mother, but, mental patients do not reason the same way as a mentally healthy person. Any advice is futile.

The baby story is just one big mess that the show has no clue how to end.

As far as the different pairings, I guess I must have missed the so called attraction played up with Adam and Sharon cause I have not seen such with JH in the role. Those two have barely interacted in 2 years. And there has never been a point where this Adam acted interested in or attracted to Sharon, but whatever.

Though I do notice one theme you do keep, you will pimp Adam with every other woman on the show but the one he is paired with, Chelsea. Guess your biased is showing Michael, and how you feel about the super talented and beautfiul Melissa Claire Egan.

I never want to seeAdam agin with Sharon. Chelsea is the love of his life, and Sharon is to flaky to deserve Adam. Plus she turned on Adam just because Nick wanted her to. Now Nick and Adam has kinda gotten better at being brothers,Nick choose to believe Adam on his father,so he’s come a long ways. We don’t need Sharon messing with his life again.Sharon has gone through all the men in GC theres no one left accept Kevin or Luca,ha-ha

        July 1, 2016 at 9:08 am

Lol, Joan. We could say the same about Nikki, and every other woman on all soaps. They all play musical beds.
Chelsea is not such a good girl in my book either. She manipulated both Billy and Dylan. And, a worse mother. Yes, she gave Johnny up( which is beyond my comprehension), but, she completely forgot about him. She gave him life. She is the bio Mom. She has no pull towards Johnny. This is another reason I rebel at the writers. It is not realistic. A mother never forgets her child, whether she gives him up for adoption or not. There’s no pull….we never hear her talk about him; or what could have been. Not normal.

      • Lucia

        July 1, 2016 at 3:37 pm

Joan, I agree, Chelsea belongs with Adam.
Celia, I have thought at length about Chelsea and Johnny as well and I think it’s one of those “only in the soaps” things that you just have to accept. At the time, perhaps the writers didn’t think that the Chelsea character would stay on the canvas for very long. And when she gave up Johnny, she did agree to cut all ties and never give them problems. And if we think that she should be following the natural order of things, then by the same token we should question how Nick could possibly be with Sharon after she had been with his father (gross). Or how Victor could blackmail Adam and pit his children against each other only to claim that he loves them more than anything in the world.

Unlike you, I like Chelsea. I can’t really explain it though because her character has become boring like all the other female characters on the show. They are all playing second fiddle to their men. Ashley is brilliant but not as brilliant as Neville; Chelsea is perfecting the art of hand-wringing while worrying about her husband; Victoria is shirking her duties as CEO – a job she has craved – so that she can bed Travis at all hours of the day; and Summer….oh dear sweet Summer can’t get through a sentence without whining about “poor Grampa” and while she’s set on being a nouveau Newman, she hasn’t stepped a toenail in a college classroom and takes all her cues from her new boyfriend. Maybe I need to take my own advice and accept that it’s a common trope of the soap opera to make the men the strong figures…but with Catherine gone and Hilary hell-bent on being a player in Genoa City by being a manipulative bitch, I’m just yearning for some good female characters to be written. Yay, we have a female doctor. Oh, whoops, she’s a crazy bitch who is going to give away Sage’s baby to Sharon. Oh, yay, the prison doctor is a woman. Oh, whoops, she’s 30 years younger than Victor and not hesitant to have sex with him in her office. Give. Me. A . Break.

        July 1, 2016 at 4:52 pm

Chelsea has changed since she manipulated Billy and Dylan as you say. She is not like that anymore. And she is not a bad mother. At the time she gave Johnny up, she was in a different place, she couldn’t give him the life he deserved so she gave him to a loving home. That doesn’t make her a bad mother, she’s a great mother to Connor. And the few times she’s been around Johnny, she’s shown to care. Just like when Chadam got married and were going to Paris before he ‘died’. She went and told Johnny bye. She said he’d always be her first born.

Wow! Kudos to Ms. Case for being so gracious and forthright on what has to have been one of the longest, slowest character assassinations on soaps ever!!! They took a beautiful Emmy winning actress….who was the show’s central heroine….and turned her into a complete whack job for NO reason! Saddled her with ridiculous baby storylines LONG after the character could even viably conceive…..Mariah is 37 years old. And she soldiers on! I am waiting for the regime on this show who will get Sharon back to the heroine she was during the first 14 years of her tenurs on Y and R!

I hope not. I think Sharon and Victor have long overstayed there welcome with fans on the show.after so many years and so many stories, people outgrow a character and the writers need to stop with it.Adam can Easily step in the spotlight and be the next hotshot Newman and Victor would not be missed.People are thriilled he’s finally in prison, and Sharon, well not many would miss her either,if you check out the fan groups.

I’ll take Sharon paired with Nick, Adam, or any other character that are able to do love scenes.

Seriously Y&R, if you must have a Dylan he should transition into being a priest, or the Genoa City Police Chaplain.

Love scenes are an important part of being a romantic male lead, if an actor cannot fill that aspect of the role, he shouldn’t be given a partner. I’d like to see Sharon back with a love interest who can deliver in all aspects of life including the bedroom…. it’s a soap after all!

    • Joan

      July 1, 2016 at 4:14 am

Dylan needs Avery back and not become any priest.SMH. Adam and Chelsea are Awesome together and we waited forever for them to be reunited.Put Sharon with that guy Sam Gibson, she was with once, actor is Sean Patrick lanery, But plrase,Not Nick or Adam. enough is enough with them two. I hate the same ol rebounds, bring on some new characters.

I see my last comment was deleted.
    I’ll try again.

The baby story is a hot mess, they have no idea how to end it.

Yeah you have to ask multiple questions, but you could have asked that one so much better. Adam and Sharon with JH in role have not even shared 5 scenes. And at no point was Adam shown attracted to Sharon while holding “Sully” Those scenes were about Adam holding his son.

And sorry to say it, but fact is every interview you’ve done with JH and now this one, you pimp Adam with anyone but Chelsea. And it does show you’re biased. It’s not cool to treat Melissa Claire Egan that way either. She’s a great actress and deserves some respect. When was the last time you sat down to do an interview with her?

      Hey, Lawson,
In response to your comment above…..I am a mother. Even if I would be so selfless to hive up my child to a better home, I would want to see him, especially if he were under my nose. I would talk about him. But, it is a soap, NOT REAL.
This is my opinion. Why must I like Chelsea? I do not. II love Melissa, though.
I mist admit I love her wardrobe….girl has style. We are very much alike in that department. I think she must have taken a peek in my closet……including my shoe closet. LOL.

If all of that interesting dialog, etc. has been there before, I just didn’t read it. I didn’t tonight either; perhaps tomorrow. It must be extremely difficult to write for five days a week. Guessing that in the new age, people enjoy their soaps for very different reasons, in different ways.

The writing has deserved much blame, but probably not as much as it gets. What hasn’t been carefully reviewed in connection with the writing has been the casting and timing of the new entries.

For me, I think I can see a good or great actor in a misplaced setting in a Soap. However, sometimes, as a viewer, if one waits long enough and the writing properly develops the actor, the writers had better keep them or be very careful about the timing and method of their departure.

Forgot the question. I think others have suggested that Dylan has not found his fit in this soap. Of course Sharon and Nick should be together.

I will stop here. Most of us love the actors, probably recognize how difficult it is for our favorites to project what they and the writers profess. Soaps are an Art Form, and a very complicated, fast moving, and difficult one.

    This site is intriguing!

This dragged out too long, and I no longer care.
Big bore. And the constant, sudden panic-stricken
expressions on Sharon’s face are so beyond old!

      • Celia

        July 1, 2016 at 9:35 am

I know, Nanci. It’s been years. Years of Sharon constantly battling the same old demons. End it!!

Aside….please forgive me for ‘sticking’ this in…..Could it be that Ian Ward has put this entire imbroglio in motion? Did he set all this Constance murder scenario up just as a venue to his escape? Pretty arrogant of him to think he could pull it off. But, it’s a soap!!! LOL.
Is Victor telling the truth? Did he suspect what Ian was up to and Victor went to court to derail Ian’s plan?
If so who is the redhead? And, who put the vial in the storage unit?

      • Nanci

        July 1, 2016 at 4:06 pm

        Interesting thought about Ian, Cee!
        Made me go Hmmm…

I had thought it is Chloe who planted that vial.

On a different note, I am loving Chelsea’s shorter hair, and most
recently, Christine’s too, wow! Have been wishing for Sharon to
finally do a different cut, but maybe she will soon follow suit!
        Although I kinda doubt it…

      • Celia

        July 1, 2016 at 7:50 pm

Yes, I like Melissa’s new do. She has always had gorgeous hair. Cricket’s looks good too.
Sharon? I don’t think she’ll ever cut her hair. Some women (and men…lol) love long hair. It’s her crowning glory?
My hair is long. But, it is easier for me to maintain since it’s pin-straight, so, it flows naturally. If I had short hair, I would spend hours curling it; styling it etc. I refuse to do that. Melissa and the rest go to their dressing rooms having the hair and make-up people done do the work.
All I do is wash it and leave it to dry, minimally using a blower.
I do not think, Nanci, that this had been the plan for TPTB, as far as Ian is concerned. I think this possible new plot was devised recently, as I do believe that Victor was written as we are perceiving him. I wish I knew the reason for the change of plans, if, indeed, there is a change of plans in the offing.
It could be that TPTB don’t want Adam spending any time in jail; so, Victor’s testimony is powerful… is Nick’s.
But, this turn of events with Ian overpowering the guard, thus taking his gun; and, then taking Nikki hostage was so hysterically ridiculous, I was tearing with laughter.
Poor Nikki/Melody could barely keep her balance. I thought she was going to topple over.

As for Adam she and MM had chemistry off the charts I think they missed the boat with not drawing her into Adams life but JH is a different Adam and CP doe not do character development well but I will always have a soft spot for her and Nick ! God speed my sweet lady you deserve it!

Sharon didn’t need to be drawn into Adam’s life again. Adam has a wife, Chelsea and their son Connor together. And that went back to before JH was in the role. Adam had the family he built with Chelsea.

      • Celia

I agree, Lawson. Adam should stay put, albeit i do not like Chelsea.
But, to be fair, Chelsea does love Adam. It is tangible. I just wish she’d fight to get Johnny back.
Considering Billy’s screwed up life, she would have a good chance.

To give credit where credit is due – Sharon Case has handled all plot lines given to her with class and finesse. She has supported the regimes that come and go and seems to avoid all the back stage drama. She gave praise to Michael Muhney and still honored Justin Hartley. She works well with just about everyone it appears. I am ready for Sharon to let all the secrets out and gain control of her life again. Her scenes with Mariah are always fun. I just want them to hash out the mother daughter team a little more because they are magic together. Sharon does deserve to find happiness. She has had children so she needs to focus on developing a relationship with a good man. Dylan is not the guy for her. I would be happy to see her with Nick again. Adam is a possibility too but I love Chelsea too much to see her cast aside. Even though the production team and writing teams are taking hits and I feel that Pratt will be receiving walking papers soon, I hope they manage to give some semblance of happiness and dignity to Sharon. She has definitely suffered enough.

Comparing Chuck Pratt’s lame storytelling to that of the great Bill Bell is, IMO, an insult, Mr. Fairman – I’ve been a viewer since January 1981 and this garbage is NOWHERE in any league with Bell’s storytelling.

Bell’s stories were character-driven, which added to the textured plotlines that developed thru that character; Pratt’s so-called “tale weaving” is nothing but a hackneyed patchwork of plot-driven garbage – he couldn’t sell this inane story (or any of the other garbage he’s currently shoveling on “Y & R”) in prime-time, so he’s dumping it into this once must-see-TV drama with horrible results not only for the show, but for the viewers!

That the actors are able to perform any of Pratt’s drivel with a straight face is amazing, to say the least.

      Hi Bart:

Thanks for your comments and opinions.

But before this thread goes off on a different direction, let’s be clear on what I said in the interview line of questioning to Sharon on the baby story only, which was: “It seems reminiscent of the TYPE of story Y&R creator, the late Bill Bell, would develop and tell.”

In no way was I making an overrall comparison between Bill Bell, and Chuck Pratt’s style of storytelling. I was speaking only of the baby switch story and it’s tentacles. Hope that clarifies to you the intent.

      Best always,

      • Tammy

        July 1, 2016 at 11:00 am

Bob bell would never had continued this kind of story line. I have been watching y&r since I was 13 and I am 50+ years old & every time I should happen to turn over the channel to see what is going on, it makes me sick to see how hideous this once great soap opera has gone to h*** in a handbasket!! The only thing I saw that was in anyway real, was when they told Niki had MS!! Give me a break & put Sharon & Nick back together let someone be happy! The world is full of enough crap as it is, they worked hard to even be together, let someone be happy!! And by the, reason I am even home during the day, is because I have MS!! Get some new writers

    • Timmm

      July 1, 2016 at 8:23 am

Bart, I’m not taking either side, just saying, Y&R is still twice as successful today as the other three soaps on TV. Something still works and a lot of us are still tuning in. Bill Bell, great talent, but maybe if he were here today he couldnt keep up with the times? Who knows. Maybe what Pratt does is what HAS to be done today? Think about this, can you imagine writing a story that is on most of the week for 52 straight weeks and make it work? You have to write dialogue with twists that include new characters and old ones that are leaving. It isnt easy. One thing I remember about Bell is his stories would often drag out for long periods of time and some of his stories were out there. Not GH, out there, but different! Bell is a legend but Pratt isnt doing a bad job and lets see what Mal will do?

Timm, you’re spot on right here. I remember it took maybe a decade before the truth of Lily’s paternity came out (Lily’s father is really Malcolm, Neal’s brother).
I recall Bill Bell complaining in a TV Guide interview with Michael Logan that viewers seem to be think he has lost his memory and he assured readers that he would eventually let the truth come out. He did take his good sweet time sometimes.

I absolutely adore Sharon Case. Kudos & Respect to her for always being such a professional & such a team player, irrespective of the storylines given to her.

Perhaps being a long, slow SL with many twists & turns involving many people is reminiscent of Bill Bell’s style of story telling, but Chuck Pratt’s grasp & execution of a SL & the characters involved fails miserably & horribly by comparison. Characters are written to suit his twisted & convoluted plot drivel stunt antics, instead of from a meaningful & emotional character perspective where the audience can relate or sympathize with, irrespective of how far-fetched a SL arc may be. This SL feels like nothing but an endless serious of tedious, non-nonsensical plot points stuck together on screen with the hopes that they’ll somehow fit together; being played out by unrecognizable characters with familiar faces.

Sharon has always been & will always be my all time favorite YR character, but this SL is neither interesting nor entertaining. The manner in which bipolar, a very sensitive & already highly misunderstood & stigmatized mental illness, is being abused & contorted to suit this plot-driven pointless mess, is utterly tasteless & disgusting. Sharon sacrificing everything all to keep a man happy or to hold onto a man, & being portrayed as some un-derserving subservient to this man – this is all more pathetically insulting as a woman IMO, than Sharon playing the Damsel in Distress could ever be.

At least before, I understood Sharon’s intentions/actions in relation to her history as a character, even if I didn’t always like or agree with them. For Sharon to lose her entire sense of moral compass, sacrifice herself, her mental well-being, her kids, her 22 year relationship with Nick ALL for the sake & fear of losing this pathetic Retcon-Wimp-of-a-Man-turned-quicky-husband, Dylan (with a side-dish of Pratt’s warped interpretation of Bipolar of course) -Spare me, I dont buy this Pratt version of Sharon for a second and especially not with the whole “I’m doing it for Dylan” justification. Dylan, who Sharon has to constantly lie too because she cant compete with his Sainthood. Dylan, who treats Sharon like a child, who never lets Sharon express herself because he is too self-absorbed in his own baby-rabies, HIS feelings, HIS career to even notice Sharon in trouble/troubled. Dylan, who orders Sharon back home to take care of his mother like a “good little wifey” while he’s out playing the clueless supercop hero. No Thanks! In fact, I’d rather take the old “Damsel in Distress” Sharon any day over this “Sacrifice Sharon all just to elevate Dylan & his Sainthood” mysoginist BS. At least Sharon still had a voice of her own back then and existed outside the realms of a man, irrespective of the relationship she was in.

I will say that SC’s performance along with equally fabulous CG, is the only thing remotely worth watching in this SL. I am also happy with Mal Young’s appointment as ExP & am eager to see what he can offer. Unfortunately with Chuck Pratt still there, I dont expect to see much of improvement in the writing until he vacates the premises so until then, I guess my YR viewership will probably sadly remain at the current 10-15 minutes a week if I’m lucky.

The baby drama needs to end.Long&boring.So when they get that figured out then it will be all about Adam really being the father&that will probably be dragged out also.On to new things please.

I can’t wait for this to be over! So I’ll never have to hear the name “Sully”
Who picked that name? It reminds me of a dirty diaper. This is the meaning of sully “- to soil, stain, or tarnish. 2. to mar the purity or luster of; defile: to sully a reputation. verb (used without object), sullied, sullying.”

    • Nanci

      July 1, 2016 at 8:06 am

I agree! Even though it is short for Sullivan, Sully is a horrible name, in my
opinion! Dylan chose the name to honor a late friend of his, and Sharon went
      along, if I remember correctly.

      • Celia

        July 3, 2016 at 11:19 am

Yes, it’a a stupid, thoughtless name. It means ‘to defile’. Golly Gee!! Might as well call him ‘blemish’. Just call him Sullivan ….the moniker ‘sullies’ the infant.

Sharon Case is a true class act. Her ability to take her character into these horrific storylines without complaint shows that she’s a true team player. What I truly miss is her pairing with Michael Muhney, who she had amazing on-screen chemistry with. Shadam was simply magic. Too bad she’s paired with Deputy Deadwood now.

    • Timmm

      July 1, 2016 at 8:25 am

Her and MM were THE next Victor and Nikki! Loved them together.

Lexie…’Deputy Deadwood’…LOVE IT…LOL!!!!! N-o-w, speaking of ‘Deputy Deadwood’ (lol), the fact that that dunderhead can’t (or won’t) see/realize that Sharon has gone crazy (again and again and again)…oh, gimme a break already!!!!! Beyond dumb.

      Take care, Lexie.

      • Celia

        July 1, 2016 at 7:59 pm

Jay, OMG!!!!! I thought the only person who ever said ” dunderhead” was my Granda. I never heard anyone else say it. I love it.
I don’t know what you and Lexie are talking about…Deputy Deadwood?, but You got a chuckle out of me.

Good for her for being professional and for always turning lemons into lemonade

If Bill Bell was telling this tale neither Sharon or Sage would of have discover the truth until Christian was older. He had a long term view to all his stories, how the plot would affect characters not just in the short term, but over years. He had a destination in mind and he would know in advance how each action of his characters would affect others and how each consequence would propel the plot in the future.

In my opinion Pratt is simply stringing along this story because once it is over he has to think up a new one and it is easier to just keep one story going on and on, without any real reason to.

I do not object to the story, but to all the false notes within it. For instance Sharon is bipolar which is a mood disorder. Even if she went off her meds, all she should be doing is making poor choices, engage in risky behaviors or be in a corner crying her eyes out. If she is seeing and interacting with dead people that is whole other level of mental illness. So did she have a mental break? Or is Pratt like many soaps writers are doing of late, using the ghost of a dead person to represent a character’s inner turmoil. If so, that ploy is been over done, has lost it’s effectiveness and is a lazy way of writing.

Personally, if I was writing the story I would have skipped the whole off her meds part. I would of had her confide not in Mariah, but Adam. Since Adam had stolen Faith from her he would had a perspective on how she might deal with her conflicting emotions of knowing what is right and what is best for some but not others and playing God with some lives. Of course Adam knowing he was Christian father, would know the baby was alive and sharing that secret with Sharon would have drawn them back into each other lives in a way that made sense. Adam could have told her truth that he was Christian father and convince her to keep the baby and get rid of all her guilt. And the secret could remain a secret until such a time, in a few years, when the truth could come out in a dramatic and unexpected way– and the affect would be far reaching and the pay off exciting because we all been waiting for the reveal.

Also, sorry, but that’s what Nikki gets for insisting on being at that trial. Stupid woman. Oh…at this point, Nikki is nothing but a broken-down L-U-S-H!!!!! TOTAL B-L-A-H!!!!!!

        Later, my friend.

I met Sharon Case once and she is such a sweet, kind and beautiful women. She took so much time with us fans. She laughed about all her silly decisions on the show and played along with some of the rude comments people made about how Sharon Newman acts! But, just like in this interview, she brushes off the negative stuff and embraces the positive stuff. She never bashes anyone, you never see her playing hardball with her contracts and she seems like an ideal employee. One other thing, Sharon Case made a good point, we may think Sharon on the show is wacky but look at TV, the news, things you read on the internet, people in REAL life are JUST as crazy!

    • Harry

      July 2, 2016 at 12:41 pm

That is good to hear, Timmm. A few months ago in a scene with Sage and Chelsea, Sharon made a joke about having gone crazy and marrying Victor Newman. I think her words were,”Or you can go crazy and marry Victor Newman like I did.” It seemed to me that Case was ad libbing a bit and that wasn’t in the script. I think it was Sage who gasped and said,”I cannot believe you said that.” Then the three women all burst out laughing–it was a good little moment.
To me, it seemed like a little bit of Sharon Case was coming through and it was a real and naturally humorous moment.

  22. Lisa

    July 1, 2016 at 9:04 am

First off I like Sharon Case – but I loathe Sharon the character.
    She’s become a cartoon !
How is she ever going to be redeemed now ?
Lying, lying and more lying and going off her meds.
If she had to submit to a pee test or blood work they’d know she’s off the drugs.
    This story bites !

    • Celia

      July 1, 2016 at 12:40 pm

Yup, Lisa. I said exactly that months ago. How to redeem Sharon? Same old thing. The looney bin, therapy or just lock her up….which would be a shame, since it would mean the actress is off the show. Sharon Case is a classy lady. She is as much a part of this show as the scenery….actually, so much more beautiful to look at. I adore and admire her. So, the disappointment if she were to leave would break my heart.
Sharon, the character, has really crossed over, now. Off her meds, lying, manipulating, hallucinating, turning violent…..
I hope Sharon can be saved somehow. A crazy twin?

  23. Letemeatc8ke

    July 1, 2016 at 11:28 am

I think Justin has done a grand job at stepping into Michael’s shoes, but the only critique I would give is that his Adam lacks an inner vulnerability that Michael was great at projecting. He could do something down right evil, but something about his facial expression would leave you seeing things from Adam’s point of view, thus eliciting some type of compassion for him. I don’t do that with HIS Adam. I think Sharon and Michael Muhney HAD great chemistry as a couple that would be difficult to repeat as a couple. I just wish they would make Sharon more relatable in a common sense sort of way. Oh well.

    • Celia

      July 1, 2016 at 12:49 pm

Oh, my gosh! I never thought about it, Letemeatc8ke, but yes, you are so astute.
MM was so skilled at making us feel his inner self…his elation; his desolation; his turmoil.
I always said he and Sharon clicked; but, in my opinion, MM was a Nick substitute where Sharon is concerned.
I would love to see her and Nick back together, somehow.
Has anyone else noticed how much Connor looks like Michael Muhney? The resemblance is uncanny to me.

      • Lala

        July 2, 2016 at 2:24 pm

Oh yes! How I miss the great Muhney! He was a prime actor ! He owns that role& if Justin has to go prime , I pray he will return to save this Sinking ship! Maybe As a twin brother , that Hope never told Victor about?! One can dream !

      • Celia

        July 2, 2016 at 4:43 pm

        Hey, Lala,
I can’t dispute that. I love Hartley, and he is doing more than I expected. But, Muhney WAS Adam from head to toe; inside and out.
Needless to say, his return doesn’t seem likely. Too much went down behind the scenes. True or not, we will never know…..So unfortunate if Muhney’s career is suffering from this.

Sharon Case is a talented professional and i don’t expect her to admit that these storylines completely limit her abilities as an actor. How many times can a woman have a newborn taken from her OR be responsible for taking someone’s child from them? Pratt has a limited perspective on the female character and that’s a shame. i don’t care for what Sharon has become, but watching Case is always a pleasure. Too bad this storyline is ridiculous and makes me cringe.

Gosh miss the days of Victor saying my sweetheart and showing his soft side Eric Braeden can show that soft side the different writing teams have destroyed homes s character among others u hope some day they will bring them back

  27. Belle

    July 1, 2016 at 8:00 pm

Don’t get rid of Victor because the show wouldn’t be the same without him. Just remember that Catherine’s presence is missing ; however, there’s nothing that we can do about it. Therefore, while Eric/Victor is still on the show, I don’t want him to leave by being written off by the writers ; let him leave when the main writer takes him off as He took off Catherine.

    • Celia

      July 3, 2016 at 8:43 am

      Hi, Belle.
Catherine was written off because Jeanne died. No other actress would have done the character justice. I think all of us, including the co-stars, producers etc. would rather have it this way than see a substitute to that majestic thespian.
The show would not be the same without Victor. But, he is approaching 80. It depends on whether Eric wants to continue or retire.
Nonetheless, the same still applies. Hiring another “Victor Newman” would not be the thing.

        July 3, 2016 at 9:51 am

From what I’ve heard, Celia, a Catherine recast would’ve wiped out a lot of injustices several costars endured at the “hands” of the original actress. Sometimes a “hands on” approach is the wrong way to go.

    • Celia

      July 2, 2016 at 4:50 pm

I may be wrong, but, I do not think there ever was a second baby, judy. It was all a convoluted, fabricated story. Remember the nurse who took Christian? She and Dr. “Killjoy” concocted the whole thing .

  30. Nikki

    July 2, 2016 at 6:33 pm

Hi Judy! I don’t think any baby died. Sharon was never pregnant at all but because her doctor filled her with drugs and kept telling her she was , Sharon actually believed it. The only child that died was Billy & Chloe’s daughter Delia. It was a car accident and fans still don’t believe Adam did it. They think he was framed. Now if your talking about long ago Cassie died driving a car but that was long ago and Cassie/Mariah are played by the same wonderful actress Camryn Grimes. Hope this helped?

    • Celia

      July 3, 2016 at 3:32 am

All this baby drama keeps repeating itself, Nikki.
A baby did die years ago…..a lot happens in that psyche ward. LOL. It’s not funny, I know. It’s actually pathetic. I get turned off when babies are used as a means of convenience this way.
Remember when Adam accidentally caused Ashley to fall and lose her baby? Adam made her believe she was still pregnant. Sharon was pregnant with Faith, at the time, as well.
I cannot recall the details of how both Ashley and Sharon ended up at the psyche ward at the same time, but a similar situation happened. When Sharon gave birth, Adam took Faith and gave her to Ashley. Sharon thought her baby died. Same story as Sage in reverse. Ashley believed Faith to be her own for quite a while.
Adam went as far as stealing another baby’s ashes from the mortuary? Or was it the funeral home?
So, it’s a repetition of stolen babies, dead babies or switched at birth babies. Morbid.

Oh my gosh CeeCee your right. Once I recalled it all it maid me sick. I have to wonder if Abby & Stitch’s child is going to make it with the head surgery? Although I don’t think anybody wants to see anyone die in the show (except for Summer) I think using babies is a way to draw in the fans heartstrings? I didn’t watch it Friday but I heard Victor got shot. We all know everyone will be at the hospital kissing his feet and Nikki will stop the divorce so Monday will be my garden work day. I’ll tune in Tuesday. The only two parts I like lately are 1. I want to see Adam go free & 2. I want to see Adam’s face when he finds out his & Sage’s child didn’t die & what will he do? I also really like the connection with Kevin/Natalie & Mariah but it’s hard to go through every day of that Summer to get where you want to be.

      • Nikki

        July 3, 2016 at 1:55 pm

Sorry meant to say made me sick not maid.

        July 3, 2016 at 2:58 pm

Nikki Newman is in the clutches of Ian Ward. Nikki was waddling all over the place. I couldn’t control my laughter. A small woman she is NOT!! The entire scene was hilarious.
The courtroom ‘drama’, Victor getting shot, Ian gaining the upper hand…..second verse, same as the first. Where have ai seen this before?? LOL.
As far as pulling our heartstrings by using babies? I’m sure that’s the writers’s intent. But, these babies-dying stories are painfully close to my heart….and, I am sure I am not the only one.
Nonetheless, it is a reality. My problem. This happens …it’s part of life. I just think ‘they’ overdo it.

Over the years watching this show I have always thought that Sharon & Nick were the Junior Victor & Nikki and would always find their way back to each other. Nothing has changed my mind, but I don’t mind Dylan for now. I for one was not a Sage fan so it did not hurt one bit that she is no longer with Nick.

I feel Sharon has gotten some really bad and lazy writing over the past few years and she just keeps on ticking. Just once I would like to see her happy without something hanging over her head that could ruin it at anytime.

GH’s Mark Lawson Fuels At-Home Workout With Soap Opera Competition: “Dante, Dante, Dante, Dominic, Dominic, Dominic … But What About Dustin?”

As fans and colleagues of General Hospital and former One Life to Live star, Mark Lawson (Dustin, GH) know, he often posts on his Instagram account at-home workouts from his garage including: exercises with: kettlebells and free weights. In real-life, Lawson is a fitness guru, as well.

In one of his most recent posts over the holiday weekend, Mark used the constant chatter of a potential return of Dominic Zamprogna to GH to reprise his role of Dante Falconeri (which would pit Mark’s school teacher alter-ego Dustin at-odds with Dante, for the love of Lulu (Emme Rylan)) to charge up his workout routine! So what’s a guy to do?  Bicep curls!

Next, fueling his workout in a hilarious send-up, Lawson, as he is curling dumbbells remarks: “You want Dante back? Dante, Dante, Dante … Dominic,Dominic,Dominic … It’s all you talk about.  It’s all you care about, but what about Dustin?  What’s up with Dustin?  Where’s good guy Dustin? School teacher Dustin, who never shot nobody.  Never hurt anybody and all he wanted was a girlfriend.   All everybody talks about is Dante, Dante, Dante. Dominic, Dominic, Dominic.”

You can watch Mark’s IG post below!

Then let us know, if you hope there will be some healthy soap opera competition for the love of Lulu down the line between Dustin and Dante, if Dominic returns to the show.  If he does return, would you be Team Dustin or Team Dante? Share your thoughts via the comment section.

OLTL Alum Renee Elise Goldsberry On Performing Her Showstopper “Satisfied” In ‘Hamilton’ Premiering On Disney+ Today

We loved her as Evangeline Williamson on One Life to Live, and the Broadway world loved her in her Tony Award-winning role as Angelica Schuyler in the musical Hamilton, which today bows on the filmed version on Disney+.  Of course, we are talking about the fabulous Renee Elise Goldsberry who has talent abounds.

In Hamilton, Goldsberry performs a showstopper “Satisfied” as Angelica makes the ultimate sacrifice giving up the man she loves Hamilton played by Lin-Manuel Miranda) to her sister for her sister, Eliza’s (Phillipa Soo) happiness.

Now taking the version of this memorable moment in the theatre and bringing it to life on film also makes for an exciting performance and piece of creative work.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times out today, Renee talks about executing this number in the show just right: “There are things that are technically challenging about that number: on top of the words, there’s the movement and the fact that we’re doing the previous number in reverse the whole time. It was a lot of things to juggle, but that was never hard, that was all intellectual. Even the rap was relatively easy. The most challenging part to sing is that final toast. This is an extremely well-written song. Every word is crafted to analytically take this woman on an emotional, life-altering decision for these three lives. That decision was such a monumentally painful and beautiful thing to do that by the time I’d get to that moment in which she makes that decision, I was so devastated that it was hard to sing that toast. She’s conflicted because, clearly, she wants to stay around this guy, she recognizes his brilliance, but she gets that Eliza is the one. So I imagine this woman having to give this toast to this community, in spite of the pain she felt.I was always worried that somehow or another, I wouldn’t be able to live up to the brilliance of the end of that song because emotionally, I was just trying to manage it. It took me maybe until Broadway to feel OK about it.”

When asked how she felt about seeing “Satisfied” in the movie version of Hamilton available everywhere Friday on Disney+, Goldsberry added: :Seeing it from the audience’s point of view for the first time, I realized there was a whole ‘nother level of storytelling that was going on, separate from me. I mean, Howell Binkley’s lighting design!  And Andy Blankenbuehler’s brilliant choreography, which I could always only see in my peripheral vision. It’s a huge number with the entire company onstage just killing it and basically turning back time with their bodies, and I’m standing in the middle, talking out like a deer in the headlights to the audience about a burst of things that I have to grapple with immediately. I’m very grateful that he made my job much easier.”

Watch a clip of Renee’s performance in the film version of Hamilton below.

Now, let us know if you are planning to watch the highly-anticipated Hamilton over the fourth of July weekend via the comment section and if you are excited to see Renee in her award-winning winning in it?

B&B’s Supervising Producer, Casey Kasprzyk Shares: “Just Finished Viewing Our First Produced Episode Since Starting Production Back Up!”

In a tweet late on Thursday, the supervising producer of The Bold and the Beautiful, Casey Kasprzyk, shared his enthusiasm at completing the first major hurdle for the soap going back into production during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Showing a viewing copy on disc of the first new episode produced for B&B in months, Casey said: “Just finished viewing our first produced episode since starting production back up! So proud of Team Bold & Beautiful. Great shows airing soon”

Now soap fans will have to wait and see if General Hospital and The Young and the Restless begin their productions in the middle of July; as last projected by both series, or if there will be further delays due to the ongoing crisis for the safety of everyone involved at the shows.

So, excited to learn Casey’s news that there is a new episode of B&B on the horizon for viewers to see? Comment below.
