Y&R’s Tracey E. Bregman Sues Her Insurance Company After Loss Of Her Home In California Woolsey Fires

PhotoL CBS

We all remember learning in November of 2018, that Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren, Y&R) lost her newly constructed home when it was destroyed by the horrific Woolsey Fires that hit Southern California and in particular Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

Well now Bregman is s suing her insurance company, Lloyd’s of London, accusing them of underpaying insurance policy benefits after her Malibu, California was destroyed.  After the fire, Tracey was said to file a claim for benefits under the homeowners’ policy issued to her by Lloyds so she could rebuild her home.  Despite having enough coverage to completely repair her home, the insurance company refused to pay her the benefits she was entitled to.

The upshot of this for Bregman is she has been unable to properly rebuild her property and has been living for quite some time in temporary housing.

In the allegations of the lawsuit, Bregman says that Lloyd’s hired an unqualified and biased consultant to prepare an estimate for the cost to repair the home. Then, Lloyd’s refused to pay her any amounts beyond the unreliable estimate.  In turn, Ms. Bregman submitted several estimates from her own licensed contractors, who estimated the actual costs to repair would be millions of dollars more than Lloyd’s paid, and that is only part of the suit.

The lawsuit seeks an award of contractual, general and punitive damages against Lloyd’s.  This appears to be another example of insurers not fulfilling their obligations to policyholders.   Bregman is repped by the Merlin Law Group in this case.

So, what do you think of the accusations and claims by Bregman against Lloyd’s of London? Do you hope that Tracey can finally build the home she wants to live in? Comment below.

In addition, recently Tracey chatted virtually with Kimberlin Brown for the Michael Fairman Channel in this exclusive interview as the Lauren and Sheila feud has been remembered in encore episodes on both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. See it below.

It’s a shame she is still dealing with this and doesn’t have a house. I wish her well and hope she wins.

Marcus Coloma On His GH Exit: “I Don’t Know Why That Decision Was Made, But I Don’t Feel Any ill Will and I Didn’t Feel I Got Fired”

This week, GH fans saw Adam Huss returning to the ABC soap opera as Nikolas Cassadine to finish out the rest of the scenes originally intended to be played by Marcus Coloma who ended his three-year run on the show a tad early.

As has been previously reported, Coloma came down with Covid-19 as his final tape days neared, and a decision was made for him to not return to finish off his last run of episodes.

With all the rumors and stances taken by everyone involved, Coloma was the special guest on this week’s episode of the That’s Awesome Podcast hosted by Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson and discussed his departure from the long-running daytime drama series.

Marcus expressed that when he took the role on GH, he was excited to be in that kind of environment (working on a soap opera), and only signed on for three years.  However, as time went by it became more difficult to reconcile leaving when his contract was up, sharing: “You fall in love with the crew and everybody along with it. So, two and a half years in, this decision that was so clear in the beginning is getting complicated.”

The actor added that while, “I knew the end was coming, it wasn’t like GH was saying, ‘Hey, Marcus, we want you to stay.’  There was no negotiation … and all I can say to that is I don’t know why that decision was made, but I don’t feel any ill will and I didn’t feel like I got fired. It just felt like … there was maybe an understanding that I was going to be there for three years. The big surprise is how much it hurt. Even though I knew I was going to leave.”

In the end, Coloma reflected that this may have concluded as it should, adding, “I really do have some big goals and those goals would have never been realized if I would have stayed. That’s not to take anything away from GH because I admire everything about it.”

Watch the episode of That’s Awesome featuring Coloma below.

Then weigh-in, what do you think of Marcus’ thoughts on his exit as GH’s Nikolas Cassadine? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
