41st Annual Daytime Emmys Shifts To Online Voting & Opens Submissions In All Categories!

Courtesy/FOX
The 41st Annual Daytime Emmys are getting into the groove by making it faster, easier. and more accessible for both entrants into the competition and judges by implementing a new online voting system! As well. NATAS announced today that Emmy submissions are now being accepted in all categories!
In the official press release, NATAS revealed that, “Entries for the 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards are now being accepted and that submissions are open in all 81 Daytime categories. In addition, registration is open for all qualified judges to evaluate entries.”
As far as the soaps, the press release related: “With six Daytime Dramas in contention this year, we are thrilled to open the gates for what we expect to be a record year in all Daytime Emmy Award genres,” said Malachy Wienges, Chairman, NATAS. “In addition to adding three new Spanish-language categories, we are implementing a brand new entry/judging system that will allow entrants quick and easy submissions and judges the ability to evaluate nominees at work, at home and just about everywhere else!”
“For the first time, the Daytime Emmy Awards contest will be completely online. Using the services of Yangaroo, Inc., an industry recognized awards-program provider to organizations such as the Grammys and MTV Video Awards, all entries will be uploaded right from the entrant’s desktop and all viewing and voting done online. “The industry has been asking for the convenience of online participation for some time,” said David Michaels, Senior Executive Director, Daytime Emmy Awards. “With the addition of this new program and new categories, I believe we will have an overflow of entrants and judges eager to participate.”
The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in Daytime programming broadcast between the hours of 2:00AM and 6:00PM, by conferring annual awards of merit in various categories. The presentation of these awards is intended to be an incentive for the continued pursuit of excellence. Eligible programs must have originally aired between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013. In addition, NATAS is offering two deadlines: the new “early deadline” provides entrants a lower fee if they submit by December 20, 2013. The final deadline for all submissions is January 17, 2014.
So, what do you think about the Daytime Emmy submissions and judging now moving online? Do you think it will help in the numbers of actors and shows that decide to participate? What do you think of the changes? Comment below!
Love it..We the fans watch everyday.
U misunderstood. The fans ARE NOT voting.
Too bad the fans cant vote
GH for best soap.
DITTO!
I would like if the soap fans could vote..
I do not like a chosen few making the wining decisions, they might not have ever even see a soap .
“Oh, No!”
All, I can say; right now….
1. I hope DAYS and GH clean up….
2. As riveting as Y&R Delia story was… I hope for #1 first. I say this cause… of the exit of Billy Miller.
3. doesnt time fly… it seems like just yesterday… it was horror abound… that GH was so dissed… think the women of GH.
4. i’m not so sure… as well… that AMC and OLTL should be contenders.. same reason… ie: the cancellations of… and what? 40-50 eppis? compared to DAYS & GH
“I LOVE Day of OUR Lives!” best serial…. repeat best show. Yes! Gods… Help Me!
I agree with #4. I don’t think any nominations should be wasted on shows that are gone after so few episodes. It’s just not fair to the shows that are on five days a week, year in-year out.
I disagree
Given that AMC are OLTL are most likely never coming back, it would be fair to at least give them a fair shot for this year’s emmy. After all, they did air this year even if it was for a brief time. Excluding them would be unfair. That doesn’t necessarily mean that AMC and OLTL should win the emmys if the other four soaps better deserve it. But AMC and OLTL should at least be given the opportunity to compete in this years’s event. This is probably the last year that they will ever have to participate.
GENERAL HOSPITAL IS ONE OF THE BEST
Love the idea!! Hopefully my #GH will be on top! Oh Maurice please please PLEASE!
Is All My Children eligible for nominations?
Yes they are, along with OLTL. There is also a new web-series category so shows like Venice, The Grove, etc are also eligible!
I HOPE LITTLE EMMA ON GH WINS FOR HER ROLE WHEN SHE SEEN HER MOM THAT WAS HEART TOUCHING AND SO GOOD
Y&R deserves nothing.
You can say that again. I am so disappointed in them. Just as you thought it could not get any worse it does. The same ole things that just doesn’t seem to go away. Victor and Jack are great grandfathers so to speak and they still won’t stop the madness. They both need to lose it all and just go away to an island just the two of them. I don’t know how much more fans can take of it. The Delia and Carmine storyline won’t go away. The show is dying and no one seems to care.
Has everyone missed the point, it is because of GH and Ron and Frank that there is a lawsuit and OLTL and AMC are cancelled, never to return. I won’t ever watch GH or support them, they are just as bad as ABC. IMO Debbi Morgan was great and should win. Her bowing out I think shows how the actors have come to view PP, which is because of GH.
You have made a very interesting point…but I like their “styling” of a show… and I am watching GH because, to me, it “feels” like OLTL…
and I haven’t ever considered Ron and Frank in the demise of OLTL before.
Brian Frons had a lot to do with the demise of OLTL & AMC…It’s all on him..
Ron and Frank did nothing, especially to AMC…the lawsuit blames ABC for hurting OLTL by having GH kill off several minor OLTL characters…a laughable lawsuit…all PP had to do was have the reboot written as if those character were still alive the same way GH wrote out the OLTL 3 as if they werent there…there were no AMC characters on GH and their storyline wasnt affected at all…PP took something that was too expensive for them to produce…it was all about the money!
GH best soap…the actresses who play Anna and Dr.O as best actress and best supporting actress…Eileen Davison ties with GH for supporting actress for DOOLs!!!
Eileen Davidson is NO supporting actress. She is a LEAD. If there is a God, Eileen will be nominated for Lead Actress and WIN.
You’re right…she is a lead…that was a typo error…i rush when typing! lol
Love the idea. Anything that helps the nominees submit their entries easier and quicker; along with easier viewing and voting for judges is a win!
WE SHOULD ALL VOTE WHERE EVER POSSIBLE FOR AMC & OLTL
We do need more than what we are getting lately. It was such a big mistake when they took these soaps off of the air. We have nowhere to turn now. Hoping doesn’t seem to be helping any.
I so hope that Kimberly McCullough, Jason Thompson and Brooklyn are ALL NOMINATED DIWORKE DAYTIME EMMYS…THEIR WORK HAS BEEN PHENOMENAL WITH THE REUNION ON GH !! GH for best show too ! 🙂
Since I don’t vote, it doesn’t affect me and I have no opinion.
SORRY..IT SHOULD SAY: I so hope that Kimberly,Jason and Brooklyn are ALL NOMINATED FOR A DAYTIME EMMY. THEIR WORK HAS BEEN PHENOMENAL FOR THE REUNION OF THE DRAKE FAMILY. also, GH deserves the nomination ….! Lynn Herring deserves nomination for best vet to return to daytime.
com’on Kimberly McCullough is not a great actress..
and she has just returned and done little of nothing lol ..
many on GH have given stellar performances throughout the 2013 year!!
Faison has been awesome!! as has Dr. O …
@SuOOOO
you make me laugh… with your “spoilers” if you will….
Com’on… I deserve to live in my bubble… every once in awhile
hey… you bring us down to earth… and it’s a grand time to share with… thank you MF! Cheers
I don’t dare spout on the actors as of yet… till we see the pre-noms… and who make the cut.
Kimberly…imo…always looks bored, even when she cracks a smile!
U have ur opinions and I have mind. So we can agree to disagree. Infact, Faison is a villain and Robin is not. TWO TOTAL DIFFERENT CHARACTERS AS WELL AS PERSONALITIES…!!!
AMC and Days for the win!
GH is on fire! SO many actors & actresses that are deserving of a nod! But right now Jason Thompson is standing out in my mind for best leading actor. Showing every emotion possible when dealing with an unimaginable situation and he’s nailing it every day!
all i can say is…..DAYS OF OUR LIVES and ONE LIFE TO LIVE…..DESERVE IT ALL !!!!!!!
I hope Days of our Lives wins because they tend to think outside the box, bringing us daring daytime drama.
I laughed so hard after… tuesdays epi: Nicole, and Jerry Penicoli, character… the entertainment reporter… who’s trying to get Nicole to do an expose on Father Eric…
Jerry Penicoli… telling Nicole… this stuff is HOT… not verbatim… but.. you know what I mean… after watching… “thee” scenes… with Father Eric and Kristen….
the funny part of all this… and yes it’s dark… but… Nicole… fought so hard… for Eric… and with Brady.
lo and behold… at the end of the show…she’s in the park… and/or Horton square… watching “IT” on the internet… and Eric comes upon her…
I have to hand it to DAYS… it’s so smart… how this has played out.. because.. try as they might… and I hope i’m right… they never find out he was drugged….
folks.. this is a story… and I say this because.. of how much I want the door left open for ED’s return… WITH child… what if she… managed to get a sperm sample.. and with her eggs… heck… even Brady’s … and has a surrogate mother… and returns to Salem… with: either or’s baby?
Good Lord! any one with a libido… intact… can’t not help but be sizzled by: THEE Kristen and Father Eric wanton…. I Loved it.
LOL… Victor so nonchalantly… must have enjoyed it! saves Brady from…. but let’s it be known to the world… as it were.. that he knew if was Kristen and Eric… I laughed when even Victor made it known to Maggie… who’s off her rocker… to misplace blame… to Victor… agreed that it all seemed consensual.
Days of OUR Lives… does in fact… think outside of the box… halo and all… for the law abiding citizens of Salem… and the fallout is my favorite family… “The DiMera’s”
do you think it’s possible to replace ED as Kristen… ? I wouldn’t like it… but… I like the idea of Kelly Sullivan, ex-Connie from GH… would work… and what about Trevor St. John, ex-Todd/Victor, OLTL… as Peter Blake? I would love this… built in fans of highly touted shows… to bring in more viewers… to further elevate DAYS and the DiMera’s.
wishful thinking…
DAYS is on all cylinders… I love this show.
Patrick, I agree with everything you say. I would stand in line(which I hate)for several hours to be able to buy your book about your love for DAYS.
I should also add I think you and Jim would make a great writing team for DAYS!
Btw, Michelle Stafford would be great. That would be fighting fire with fire! I do feel the need for Kristen to return earlier than ED would be able to.
Happy viewing, Patrick!

‘All My Children’ Movie Writers for Lifetime Revealed: Ron Carlivati, Jamey Giddens and Leo Richardson

This week began and as reported with a spotlight article on Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos and how their production entity, Milojo, has been teeing up the All My Children reboot with Lifetime.
The L.A. Times featured the married couple, co-hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark, and former All My Children cast members (where they met and fell in love) about their plans to bring two All My Children movies to Lifetime and how they are working with the Agnes Nixon estate to make it come to fruition,
On Wednesday, it was revealed by Daytime Confidential, that All My Children reboot producer, Andrew Stearn handpicked none other than Ron Carlivati (ex-head writer, One Life to Live, General Hospital and Days of our Lives) and Jamey Giddens (who is the new co-head writer of The Young and the Restless, following his tenures on the writing teams of Beyond the Gates and Days of Our Lives), as the two scribes who will bring the first of two of Kelly and Mark’s All My Children movies to the page.

RON CARLIVATI AND JAMEY GIDDENS CONFIRM THEIR BOARDING THE ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIE PROJECT
The second installment is said to be written by primetime writer Leo Richardson whose credits include: Star, Katy Keene and more recently the Penn Badgley (ex-Phillip Chancellor IV, The Young and the Restless) starring series, You.
Richardson also wrote for three years on the U.K.’s long-running soap, EastEnders. All My Children revival fans will recall Richardson’s name was attached as the writer for the first incarnation of the All My Children movies, entitled, Pine Valley.
Ron Carlivati took to X and confirmed he is indeed boarding the All My Children movie project. Carlivati shared, “So excited to share this news! Thanks to Andrew Stearn, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Albert Bianchini and the Agnes Nixon estate for entrusting Jamey Giddens and me with the first of two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime! Stay tuned!”

Jamey Giddens confirmed DC’s announcement by taking to his account on X and expressing, “I’ve been booked and busy in 2026. Thanks to Andrew Stearn, the Agnes Nixon estate, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos for entrusting Ron Carlivati, and me with the first of two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime!”
Some fans seemed to question how Giddens could be writing for the first All My Children movie at Lifetime, when he is the new co-head writer at The Young and the Restless with Dan O’Connor. Jamey answered that head on via X and explained, “We turned in our All My Children script months ago. My sole focus as of this past Monday, is Genoa City, Wisconsin! #YR”
ERICA KANE, MARIA SANTOS AND HAYLEY AND MATEO SANTOS TO APPEAR IN THE ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIE REVIVAL?
In the planned stories, Susan Lucci’s Erica Kane and Eva LaRue’s Maria Santos will be two characters whose lives we will get to see for the first time since the series was canceled by ABC back in 2011 after 41 years on the air. As well, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos confirmed they will make brief appearances on-screen; one could assume as Hayley and Mateo Santos.
“It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years,” shared Mark Consuelos to the LA Times. “All My Children gave me my family. I met my wife there. It gave me my start in the business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”
So, what do you think of Ron Carlivati and Jamey Giddens getting nod to write the All My Children movie #1 script and Leo Richardson #2? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

‘All My Children’ Revival Updates: Lifetime EVP Speaks on Why Proposed Movies are Great Fit, Mark Consuelos Wants To ‘Give Back’ to Fans

The All My Children revival via movies at Lifetime is still in the works from former series stars and marrieds, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, through their production company, Milojo.
The co-hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark were featured this week in a Los Angeles Times article which detailed their efforts to bring some of the citizens of Pine Valley back to your screens.
As previously reported, and reaffirmed by the L.A. Times, the All My Children movies will be set in the present day and focus on what beloved characters such as Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Maria Santos Gray (Eva LaRue) are doing now. In addition, Kelly Ripa confirmed that she and Mark Consuelos will also appear on screen briefly most likely appearing in their signature soap roles as Hayley and Mateo Santos.

ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIES BRING NOSTALGIA THAT CAN BE MADE TO FEEL NEW AGAIN
Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive vice president and head of programming for A&E, Lifetime, and Lifetime Movie Network said of the All My Children reboot, “Lifetime is always interested in shows that kind of tap into a powerful nostalgia that can be made fresh for today’s audience. There’s a whole generation of women that have missed these stories and these characters.”
As for working with Kelly and Mark on the Lifetime movie versions of the soap, “They’re exactly the kind of partners you want at a brand,” expressed Bryant. “They’re trusted voices because every day they’re talking to their audience, which, a lot of times, is our audience. They bring a real credibility and have an authentic point of view. You meet Kelly and Mark and kind of what you see is what you get, and I think they bring that same authenticity to their development standards.”
Albert Bianchini, executive producer for Milojo, says he knows All My Children is so wildly popular with the fans of daytime. That was punctuated when seeing it in person, and how the energy was off the charts back in January of 2025 when Kelly participated along with Susan Lucci, former head writer, Lorraine Broderick and casting director, Judy Blye Wilson in a conversation with Andy Cohen at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.

“I’ve never seen a crowd like that in my life. People were lined up around the block, recalled the Bianchini. “Everyone wanted to know, ‘When is (All My Children) coming back? We want more.’ We got to see that in real life and Kelly got to feel it in real life, and it made so much sense. I just know that the minute it gets out in the world, people will want more and more and more. There’s just a love there.”
Kelly Ripa added that they are, “working closely with Bob and Sarah Nixon, who are also serving as producers.” She recalled, “She (Agnes Nixon) was so far ahead of her time. She covered topics that weren’t being covered. It was extraordinary the audiences that the show drew, and she served them real stories that were affecting Americans across the country but weren’t necessarily being represented anywhere.”
“It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years,” shared Mark Consuelos. “All My Children gave me my family. I met my wife there. It gave me my start in the business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”
THE CANCELLATION AND STOPS AND STARTS OF ALL MY CHILDREN REBOOTS
All My Children aired on ABC from 1970 to 2011. It got a second chance at life when Prospect Park resurrected the show and brought it to The OnLine Network and Hulu for one season in 2013.
Recently, the series made a return through the estate of Agnes Nixon and is streaming internationally on BEONDTV and through their partnership with PlutoTV Canada with episodes starting in 1995. Fans hope original episodes will some day soon be available in the U.S. as well, but that could prove more difficult since ABC owns the rights to the episodes stateside.
Now 13 years later, while there is no word yet on a definitive production start date to the two movies at Lifetime, all the people involved seemed determined to make it come to life.
So, what do you think of the executive vice-president of Lifetime and LMN being enthusiastic about Kelly and Mark’s All My Children movie revivals? Are you wanting to see this come to fruition? Kelly and Mark seem to have made this a very high priority. Do you hope that by 2027 we might be able to get this to the finish the line and into production? Weigh-in via the comment section.
