47th Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations To Be Unveiled Early to Mid-May

Photo: NATAS

With the postponement of the 47th annual Daytime Emmy ceremonies in June, due to the coronavirus pandemic, NATAS (National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) has been looking into alternative ways to present the awards and when.  But meanwhile, before that, originally the daytime community and fans were expecting the nominations to be revealed at the end of April.

However in a new interview with Soaps.com, NATAS CEO and President Adam Sharp announced that the nominations will actually be revealed a few weeks later than planned.

Sharp related:  “We are going to be announcing them early – to mid-May, because we extended our judging window somewhat to account for (the current health concerns). We’re still figuring out how it’ll be presented; obviously it’ll be virtual, so a mix of press release and social media.”

The executive also weighed-in on if the Daytime Emmys ceremony were fully cancelled or just postponed, since the Sports, News and Documentary Emmys were fully postponed, to which he shared: “For the Daytime Emmys, it’s a little more difficult. There were simply no other dates we could present in the usual form. There’ll be a mix of some online and virtual elements, but the hope is that things return to some form of normal in a time frame that allows us to do some live events as well, but however you slice it the ceremonies will take a different form than originally planned.”

The longest baby switch drama to unfold-the award goes to General Hospital….The shortest baby switch drama to unfold-the award goes to Days Of Our Lives!!!

Yeah… even if you account for the missing year because of the idiotic time jump, it’s still shorter than the GH mess was.

Though I’m still wondering if there’s not another shoe yet to drop in this one…. sure, the baby we see now obviously belongs to Kristen & Brady, but is Sarah & Eric’s kid actually dead? Remember in the flashbacks there was a third baby born that night. Why would that have even been mentioned if there wasn’t a reason that third baby would be needed later on down the road?

Ya..time jump was too confusing….its Days…Not Dr. Who
