Why is Beth Ehlers NOT doing this? Many miss her and she was my favorite on GL – please find her and put her on, she’s made GL shine, awesome actress and she is missed. WE WANT BETH EHLERS 🙂

Yessssss!!!!

Me too!! Would love to see her again. But as a longtime Beth Ehlers’ fan I think we’ll be out of luck. I’m sure she won’t want to do this..lol

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: It’s so weird how soap sites put “Ex-” before character names on shows that are cancelled. The show isn’t on the air, so we understand everybody is an ex-, lol. There’s just no reason to do it that way!

Also, to answer the above question, it seems these reunions for GL and ATWT are grouped by people who are friendly with each other, which makes sense to have a good and interesting conversation. Maybe Mr. Locher just hasn’t had time to assemble a group of folks friendly with Beth Ehlers yet… Ricky Paull Golden, Frank Dicopoulos, etc. Don’t give up hope, Denis Adam Pompa.

Interesting reply, so your stating that many were not friendly with Ehlers? If so how would you know this information, Ehlers was on the show for many years so apparently she was liked 🙂

I was on the crew of GL… Beth Ehlers was not liked at all.

You were not on the crew. Beth Ehlers was beloved by the crew. She never caused any problems like Zimmer and the other prima donnas in the cast did. I can list dozens of crew members she is still friends with to this day.

That’s not true! I worked very closely with Beth and she was well liked. She is a smart woman and holds her own. Unfortunately, a strong woman is treated differently than men. Every actor or actress on GL had challenging moments…some were good…some were bad. But its not fair for you to make this comment

Hmm…did she hurt your ego or something Me think Peter is lying. Or maybe the people who said they liked her are lying? But I guess it doesn’t really matter because she’s obviously very loved and missed by her fans and apparently her haters can’t stop caring either so that pretty much implies she’s still popular. Hey mister/ma’am, we may never see her again so let her fan have their lovefest. Thanks so kindly

I personally had no issue with hey but sadly many of her co-workers did not like her. You can say i am lying, i don’t really care (why would I) but it’s true. She was not liked.

Dear Peter, the truth is that if you didn’t have a personal issue with her and you actually knew her, you simply wouldn’t of written that comment. You obviously don’t like her (from a distance) so just speak for yourself in full view. If you actually were a coworker (very questionable), your negative comments would say more about you than her. What kind of grown person goes around bashing/gossiping about ex-coworkers (they don’t really know) from 10-15yrs ago? Obviously not a kind and well liked person. Just saying

Last post on this because i find it ridiculous that you say that i did not know her. I was on the crew. Sorry if that makes you mad or jealous. It was not a big deal for me. I did my job. That came with getting to know people, the actors, and yes, some of them would share their feelings. A lot of them did not like the woman. It’s a fact. It’s also an old fact. Who knows ho many bridges were repaired since. During my time, she was not liked and i am not surprised that we do not see her at any Guiding Light reunion events..

Well, I find it ridiculous of you to say that “Beth Ehlers was not liked at all”. That’s manipulating the truth. You obviously were not close to her. She worked there for 20 years. It would have been believable to say during the time I worked there she was gossiped about alot by some people who really disliked her. That’s sad because it’s petty when people try to make coworkers dislike the other for their own personal reasons. Maybe jealousy? As a fan, I’d rather believe flattering comments made in press by her old buddies like RPG, Gina T, Crystal, Laura W, Murray Barlett. I also remember Bonnie Dennison and even Mandy Bruno saying they missed her after she was gone…so go figure. I hope people like you don’t completely turn her off from coming to GL reunion events/interviews. She’s already been a shy and private one. It was awesome to see her at RPG’s event a few years back.

I didn’t mean to imply that she wasn’t liked… just that the host hadn’t put together the right group with her yet.

I’ll definitely be there ! I watch GL for 19 years!

I’ve been wearing my Guiding Light farewell sweatshirt this past week. I flew to Atlanta for the farewell gathering, so I’d love to join.

OH MY GOD, THIS IS FABULOUS… I MISS GUIDING LIGHT SO MUCH, I watched it from the 60’s until the final curtain And each time a face “ex” of mine came on a remaining soap, I jumped for joy!
I have the final month on vhs, and yes I watch it!!
#WeNeedAnAllSoapChannelAndStartEachShowOverAgainFromDay1

Beth Ehlers was the reason most viewers tuned in and the reason the show stayed on the air all of those years. She is the most popular soap star of the past 35 years. Beth Ehlers was beloved by cast and crew. She had no ego, was respected by everyone, and stayed away from backstage drama. It’s not a Guiding Light reunion without her.

Yes Yes Yes, thank Mike- that’s why I turned in she was the light of the show. Great actress, just like Gina Tognoni who was light on many soaps, awesome actress as well. Why Y&R and that Josh Griffith -idiot got rid of her, he is dump butt! Both are missed and should be on soaps now.

Any idea where is Beth?

I miss Guiding Light. It was one of my favorites along with ATWT. I wish they were still on.

I hope they can get Krista Tirseau (Mindy) to join the April 15th session. We need the Fourth Musketeer!

I’ve always been surprised no one has done a “what are they doing now” feature with Beth Ehlers. After her lackluster role on AMC she just fell off the acting scene. Just have to wonder why and where she is now.

The role wasn’t lackluster, Chuck Pratt was lackluster. Bad decision to hire him. He wasted Beth. She was supposed to play Liza. After they foolishly fired Brown and Esensten, they brought in career loser Pratt. He changed her role. His whole career was a disaster. Beth was smart in only signing for one year. What a mess she walked into.

She was a child actor so maybe she grew tired of acting for a living. I think she did it for 30yrs. I also don’t think she wanted to move her family to California. Ten years back she had gone back to college and was volunteering as an EMT and rape counselor. I remember reading she was learning to be an EMT while she was still working on GL. I’m guessing she’s either in healthcare or some kind of public service right now. I think the lack of information about her is not due to a lack of interest by the soap media/blogs. Even when she was acting she hardly was into the limelight and networking that most actors love.

Should be a blast lots of memories o was a guiding light fan miss all the actors. loraine sabol levittown pa

Thank you for bringing back the Light! I watched it for nearly 40 years and would love to catch up! Keep it coming and bring this soap back to CBS along with ATWT – 30 minutes each like Bold and Beautiful. Bold is No. 1 in my book. CBS can always replace The Talk.

Love the idea: half hour each for ATWT and GL. Many actors would return, plus they could add new ones. I’ve always liked only giving up 25 minutes of my life for B&B. But Procter and Gamble would have to give up the rights. Not likely. I had stopped buying their products when ATWT went off, but I’ve since forgotten and Dawn is sitting on my kitchen counter!

So greatful for these ATWT and GL reunions, enjoying them immensely! Not to be picky, but I would practically give my right arm for Maeve Kinkead/Kurt McKinney to be included in one of these shows. Anyone have any inside scoop if this is possible??

Great reunion of soap stars! Wish they spoke more about their time and memories on Guiding Light. They all know each other currently (except maybe Daniel) being on General Hospital. And to hear about their current COVID lifestyles would be a nice element too.

ABC Announces ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Texas Spin-Off Gets Straight-to-Series Order

Published

In a surprise move, coming a week after ABC unveiled its 2026-2027 fall television schedule, Grey’s Anatomy is getting a new spinoff co-created by the original series’ creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes.

The new untitled medical drama will be written and executive produced by Rhimes and Grey’s Anatomy showrunner/executive producer Meg Marinis under the Shondaland and 20th Television umbrella. In addition, long-running ‘Grey’s’ star Ellen Pompeo will also serve as an EP of the spinoff.

The upcoming new series will debut midseason in 2027. This will be the first of Grey’s franchise not set in urban city or West Coast locale. According to Deadline, the new “edgy drama is about a team at a rural West Texas medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere.”

In a statement, Marinis shared, “I am incredibly excited to expand the Grey’s Anatomy universe. This opportunity will bring new characters and stories to life that will embody the same heart, emotion and connection audiences have loved from Grey’s for more than two decades — all set in my home state of Texas. I am so grateful to Shonda Rhimes for creating this dynamic world and feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of it.”

A NEW GROUP OF DOCTORS IN RURAL TEXAS

The Texas spinoff will feature a a new group of doctors, but there will be some connection to the OG Grey’s Anatomy and possibly to Debbie Allen’s character of Catherine Fox. The amount of episodes in the series order has not yet been determined. Previous Grey’s Anatomy spinoffs were the defunct Station 19 and Private Practice.

Previously, Grey’s Anatomy was renewed for its upcoming 23rd season while the amount of episodes is unclear.  The last two seasons the series produced 18 episodes.

It should also be noted, Grey’s Anatomy and the Texas spinoff would likely share a time period, which requires limited-run orders for both with Grey’s premiering in the fall, followed by the spinoff on the midseason programming block.

So, what do you think about a Texas spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy coming in 2027? Who would you like to see from daytime or primetime as some of the featured roles as new doctors? Put on your casting directors hat and let us know via the comment section below.

Harmon, who also starred on the defunct NBC soap opera, How to Survive a Marriage, died in New York on May 9 at the age of 82. Harmon’s family made the announcement.

Jennifer was the fifth actress to play One Life to Live’s Cathy, following Catherine Burns, Amy Levitt, Jane Alice Brandon and Dorrie Kavanaugh.
