Days of our Lives Preview: Can the Return of Father Eric Take Down the MarDevil? Plus, Lucas’ Secret Could Be Exposed!

Photo: JPI

Friday’s Christmas Eve episode was just a prelude of what’s to come next week on DAYS.  When we left off, John (Drake Hogestyn) rescued Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes), Doug (Bill Hayes), Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Ben (Rob Scott Weston) from the MarDevil who was causing terror and destruction in the Horton home before the annual Ornament hanging.

With an assist from the medallion John received during a visit from Gabe, it is able to yield some power over Satan. John heads to the Hortons and in the nick of time, literally flings MarDevil into the wall to knock her out with the powers within in the medallion.  He then kidnaps her and ties her up.  When MarDevil wakes up, John is sitting beside her in a chair expressing: “I hope these accommodations are to your liking.”

That sets the stage for the final week of the year on DAYS, which in its latest promo, shows the return of Greg Vaughn as Marlena’s son, Father Eric.  Together with John, and the rest of Marlena’s family, can they exorcise the devil out of her once and for all?

Photo: JPI

That may be harder than you think this time, because this MarDevil is very, very clever, and she will tempt Father Eric over his former lust for Kristen in the form of Eileen Davidson, in another guest appearance.

And don’t think MarDevil doesn’t have more tricks up her sleeve! She has something major over Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) – that he is the one that kidnapped Sami – and Satan blackmails Lucas to untie her or she will divulge his secret! Juicy stuff.

Check out the promo below, and then let us know what you think will happen next week on DAYS? Will MarDevil go free? Will Marlena return? Is Lucas going to do MarDevil’s bidding? And what did you think of DAYS’ Christmas Eve episode? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

The xmas present I didnt know i needed…Kristen and Eric round 2!
Thank you Days and soap gods!!! Thank you Eileen Dsvidson and Greg Vaughan

If only Santa would also visit Genoa City and relieve of us from Josh Griffiths reign of sheer misery and boredom….

Y&R has never aired in Hell, so if I went there, I would be totally lost. I know Salem like the back of my hand, so I can fit in easy there. Probably could do just as well in Port Charles…. which might be my next stop, if somebody else doesn’t send Whiny Heiny back where he belongs.

Excellent ! SHEER – delights – Savor, too

you gotta know… these two , top shelfer’ Ms. Davidson, and SIR, Greg Vaughn are salivating…

Loves it!!!! Great promo!!!
Though, I will say that these guest spots for Eileen D. is in a way good for her portrayals in the past, to bring her into the possession storyline, however, I find it insulting and insensitive to Stacey H. who IS currently Kristen/Susan.
Days needs to figure which actress they want… to keep. I understand Eileen D has deep history with the characters and John and Marlena, Brady and Eric but they recasted the roles a few years ago. It was fun to see Eileen D. pop up into the movie special but my concern is with how Stacey is feeling with sharing the roles that she took over.
Bring on MarDevil.

Jeremy ‘ thank you for the love given Stacey Haiduk

I am so appreciative of her . I posted, that, Ms. Eileen Davidson, made Y&R , her home. @DAYs won her first emmy. because, as a recast, Ms. Haiduk, deserve accolade’ for bringing to LIFE… Lady gusto DiMera…. pinch her pile on Susan! this lady loaded !!!

once again, as is THEE cycle of life.. so goes DAYS Susan Haiduk for the Win

i will say i will not let… till i see a reunion of Ms. Rachel, Brady, Kristen

it is a love so rich

“PLEASE” – give me… “Zach Tinker” – “PLEASE”

How is Mardevil being held by those bonds? I thought she could escape anything.

Re-Ron’s plot point writing again. This is so they can set up the dramatic return of Eric in his priest collar. Also, so I can blackmail Lucas into untying the ropes.

Who knows? Maybe John used ropes that had been soaked in holy water? Or he got some new powers of his own from that medal Gabriel gave him.

Damn that Gabriel… he’s been getting up in my business ever since the “good old days” back in Heaven….

Though I appreciate writers attempting to give diehard DH fans a story, the acting & plot ridiculousness in the possession story is horrible.

Well Salem, it’s been fun! But I have to be back in Hell in time for my annual New Year’s Evil party, so bye bye for now!!

Satan,
Happy New Year to you. I’m sure we’ll all have a devil of a good time in 2022. Keep the home fires burning!

OMG, what a total let down after yesterday’s show. I couldn’t wait to see how Marlena was today, and the rest of the family, but they showed all the other stuff of no interest. At least Nicolle had the good grace to tell Eric that she probably ruined him for all other women. Thinking back of every thing she did years ago to get that collar off with success and finally losing him in the end due to her own infidelity, serves her right. What a slut!

“Daytime television invites viewers into the private lives of characters, often bringing important issues like cancer screenings into living rooms and around water coolers. Soaps debuted the first cancer storyline in 1962 – years before the topic was discussed in the mainstream, and it left an indelible impact: a whole generation of women who scheduled a potentially life-saving Pap smear for the first time,” said Daytime Stands Up host Alan Locher. “For so many viewers, this brought the issue front and center,” added co-host Michael Fairman. “Today, it’s become almost impossible to avoid; but there is hope with cancer research, thanks to organizations like Stand Up To Cancer.”

SU2C Co-Founder Sue Schwartz, SU2C President and CEO Julian Adams, Ph.D., and SU2C Health Equity Committee Member Elizabeth Jaffee, M.D., will also participate to speak to the importance of early detection, exciting scientific breakthroughs, and the ongoing work yet to be done to make screenings and treatment equitable for all.

“This year, an estimated 2 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer, presenting an opportunity for the public to stand with us and rise to the occasion,” said Adams. “We’re thankful to Alan Locher, Michael Fairman and our friends from the daytime television community, who will raise critical funding to honor those we’ve lost – and to propel new scientific breakthroughs for current and future patients. Everyone has a story, and we’re grateful to all of you for sharing yours.”

For over 15 years, SU2C has leveraged its relationship with the entertainment community – which includes more than 1,100 celebrity ambassadors – to generate public donations, increase awareness and fund cutting-edge cancer research. SU2C research has contributed to the development of more than 10 scientific breakthroughs that have significantly impacted the field and provided new treatment options for breast, colorectal, lung, melanoma, pancreatic, pediatric and prostate cancers.
