Graham is Ashleys half brother…

Yes, Jimmy. I surmised that soon after Graham appeared, and I did mention it. But, I, actually, thought he was Dina’s. I also thought he would be a good match for Ashley until we all became uneasy with his calculating attitude.
Graham became aware of that fact when Dina told him who had fathered Ashley. Graham’s expression visibly changed.
Graham was a looker in his youth (by his High School yearbook photo), I must say!!

I think Graham is still a looker.

I didn’t see the pic of Graham in his youth, but I think he is still very hot. Did you see the scenes with He and Gloria in the steam room?

I only watch occasionally but i like to see Graham become ruthless…take away the company from the Abbots…like i told su…Jack needs a new feud with someone other than Snicker Newman-lol

Boy was he ever hot in his youth. Reminded me of Steve Bond, who was on GH in the 80s. But, Celia, do you think his acting chops are up to this part? I find him very weak and expressionless. I loved the showdown scene, special kudos to terrific Eileen Davidson, but I really hope Graham is soon to be a bad memory.

@Soaphound.
I did have great expectations of Graham, Soaphound. I really thought he’d be redeemed, somehow…..be part of the Abbott family.
Yet, after today’s episode, leaving Dina for dead, on the floor, makes him a fiend, with indefensible actions. I detest him. I know it’s a soap, but I wouldn’t do that to my worst enemy ( if I had one).
I find his acting lacking, as well. I do believe he will be a bad memory…..after today’s stunt, what can they possibly do with him?
It’s obvious Graham wants Dina dead…..can’t change the will that way. However, I’m assuming something will be done about that, as he “worked” under false pretenses.
I doubt Dina is dead, though.

hey Jimh..
of course Graham is family..
I like Graham, I wish they put a fire under him, fire him up !

Graham is a great CEO and he should have been hired at Brash & Sassy to take Ashely down, the Abbots down..
that would have made for some good stories. (but they put Lily in ahaaa!)

I believe Graham wants to take on Ashley but I think he has softened towards Dina.

I watch occasionally,,,but i too want him to take over the company…Jack needs a new feud with someone other than Snicker Newman!!!

Graham, it seems, su, has been brainwashed by his mother…rightly so, I guess, albeit I would never do that to a child of mine.
Dina was a bed-hopper? She stole Graham’s step-father from him and his mother. He grew up with rancor and rage towards the Abbotts, in general, and sought revenge.
I would have liked the story better if Graham had been Dina’s bio son, given away at birth and finally finding each other…..
……or, have him and Ashley be half-siblings. As Mary said, the plot would have had more merit and would have been more compelling.
I do feel that TPTB were going in that direction but swerved mid-way. Why? I think they want Ashley and Graham together….there is tension between them—perfect setting.

Take Ashley down? Why, su? She’s the best thing that ever happened to the Abbotts. She’s the glue that keeps them together–especially with the teo miscreant brothers with whom she had to deal for all these years.
No, sweet SuzieQ….take Jack down, but not Ashley.

I don’t want the secret to come out!

Graham sure has been biding his time. He’s been with Dina for at least a year. We still need to find out why Dina needs him.

You and stevie g are absolutely right. Graham still maintains his “hot” factor, Mo.

need to ask your opine: I liken Graham as a dastardly natural villain.. that every show needs.

JUST, like : Rob Scott Wilson’ Ben @Days : he’s blowing me away.

yeah, right ?

I read posts that “mentioned” the sauna scenes with Gloria

well whatayaknow… peaked my triggers

he’s hotted out! reminds me of Guiding Light Robert Newman. Yike

youtube spoiler – ” A devil among them ”

even Y&R needs some fresh doozy… Victor and Jack aren’t shooting

Max Shippee is driving

Wallah

I think the initial storyline was a rewrite-at first, it was a storyline based on Dina’s failing health (Alzheimer’s or Dementia) and then at some point a rewrite took place, making Graham Ashley’s half brother, I think…it doesn’t seem as though Dina needs Graham as much as she did in the beginning.

I agree. I think they changed Graham’s story to make him Ashley’s half-brother. When he first came to town he was all hot to trot to return to Paris. If he wanted the secret to come out, he wouldn’t have wanted to return to Paris so badly. So I do think the writers decided (after Graham was on the scene) to make him Ashley’s half-brother.

Could be adina was bamboozled. But, you’re right, Mo….some stuff just doesn’t add up.
Nonetheless, something does add up…Graham has designs on Abby. All that money is like a magnet. And, we know his hunger for money—-a very persuasive cad.

Dina.

Graham Cracker is Ashley’s half brother. I like it. The actor who plays Graham has loosened up and has gotten better on the show. I was thinking Ashley may be John’s after all but they decided to keep her a Davis. Great drama on its way!

Tim…’Graham Cracker’…LOVE IT…LOL!!!!!

Since Graham was Brent’s stepson, not real son, Graham is not related to Ashley in any way, shape or form. The yearbook said his name was Davis, Brent might have adopted him at some point– but Graham said Brent was his step father. it would have been more dramatic Graham was related to Ashley, but since he is now becoming a big A hole I am glad they are not.

Yes, Mary….as we found out today, Ashley and Graham are not siblings……which strengthens the fact that a potential relationship may blossom between them.
Now that there is a rift between him and Dina, what purpose would there be for Graham? TPTB need to think of something fast !!
There will be a love triangle—Ashley, Graham and Abby. That’s a story!!

Maybe, just maybe, Graham is John’s biological son.

I missed where Graham said Brent was his stepfather.

See, I thought Myrna and Brent had an affair and Graham was the result?

I always thought that John Abbott knew Ashley wasn’t his biological daughter.

So did I.

Hi, Judith,
I think many thought the same thing. I can’t remember when, but the subject was discussed a few times on the show since I’ve been watching.
I wasn’t born yet, but my grandmother told me that Ashley knew since the 80’s. I think Victor knows, as well.

I do like the idea of Ashley and Graham being half-siblings. It opens for Ashley to have some new story outside the holding-pattern Ravi romance. I wonder if the red herring (was it?) of Dina’s dementia is something that will develop or if she will be a grande dame for the future. (I like that.) And what of Graham’s chair-bound mother. I see no need to that character to be kept. That said, if Graham is staying around, then he needs something vital to do. Brash & Sassy is a perfect place for him and it give us some antagonism in this new dynamic.

With writing changes apparent soon, I am curious about the future of the sex trafficking ring which I had hoped would burn hotter as so many characters and relationship dynamics could be affected.

I miss Greg Rikaart. While Kevin was never always a favorite, I liked Mr. Rikaart’s charisma and interplay.Seeing him with Camryn Grimes again was a treat. They have great chemistry. Kevin was written into a corner with the Chole story line which did not seem romantic at all. To be honest, I think Chloe as a character is too flawed to return. I would have rather seen Kevin deal with his role as a single parent in light of his own upbringing with Gloria.

I completely agree with you about Greg and Camryn Grimes. They had terrific chemistry. It’s a shame Greg’s return wa a short one. He played his scenes for all they were worth. I would have loved him to stay on as a single parent as well. With him in town we would have hopefully have seen more of Esther as well as Gloria. I loved her bonding scenes with Kevin. I thought when they made such a fuss over Gloria’s return they were going to give her as wells the rest of the Baldwins a ax juicy story. I oobviously thought wrong. As I said in a preious post, Gloria is much to good to be wasted as Jack’s secretary. Although I am wondering how the story with to quote Timmm “Graham Cracker” is going to play out, I am getting tired of the Billy fiddling with the Jabot computer system. And of course Victor being Victor and Nick being a whiny pompous ass. I am hoping better things are around the corner

Sorry for the typos.. I have misplaced my glasses Tune in tomorrow and happy viewing

I must have missed the episode when Dina told Graham who Ashley’s father is!

She didn’t tell Graham who Ashley’s father is, but she did say John Abbott is not. Graham pressed who to tell him who her father is, but Dina refused. Of course, she already said too much.

classic y n r!!
love the slow build and big payoff climax!
So nice to see Tracey on screen and would ve been extra juicy if Graham seduced lonely Tracey. Ash would’ve flipped double time.
Vic was a big supporter of Ash s career and her secret about her paternity , it would ve been sweet to see him there for Ash and his daughter in wanting to protect both from not exposing the Abbott name inspite of his feelings for Jack.

Damien, I so agree, classic y n r for I also love the slow build and big payoff climax…I hope and pray that Mal Young continues with character driven stories and bring on some mystery and suspense…

All goods points, damien….but, Victor did not know what was about to go down; not to mention, good ole Vic was too busy playing havoc with his children’s lives.
The Ashley/Graham plot had all the ingredients a good, slow-cooking stew needs to savor the end result.
Your first sentence says it best…..almost describing the crescendo of a love scene. Bravi, writers.

More and more, I think that Graham TRULY R-O-C-K-S!!!!! AW, HELL TO THE YEAH!!!!!

Later.

I agree, Jaybird.
Today’s reveal was great, old fashioned soap opera.
Reminded me of the end of Tootsie.

I’ more excited about the party and Graham and what Nick said then I am about GH the Jason boring stuff ..

The whole Nick fiasco is just, to me, labeled “Fadam! [Fake Adam!]

I don’t see how Nick can give away money he doesn’t own currently. Is he supposed to force Victor’s hand so that Victor has to give it back to him or to charity on his behalf? I don’t get that part.

Yeah. This must be the worst storyline, T. Nick and Ckelsea are so out of sync, I want to puke.
It is so inconceivable for me to think a father ( Victor) would do that to his own child. But, we’re talking about Victor….everything goes. And, Nick…what the hey!!!! Is this a game? Stupid writing.
I love my Y&R—thank goodness the Ashley/Graham story added suspense. Looks like Y&R of old. Kudos.
Everythime I see Chelsea, my hair stands on end. I try not to grind my teeth…ADAM WHERE ARE YOU????!!!!

The Abbott’s are now beating the Newman’s on the excitement richter scale.
I love it! I barely got through Nicholas mumbling away on the Hillary Hour because I was too excited about the Abbott action.
I guess we all knew Grant was Ashley’s half brother. Loved it when Grant said to her,”You will find out I am not the bastard here.” I loved the clever word play.
I do like Graham and I adore Dina. That woman cracks me the hell up. She manages to be adorable and conniving at the same time.
And the Jack vs Billy war? Well, I am on Team Jack all the way. Billy, as played by Jason Thompson, is no longer a lovable, easily forgiven, screw up as he was when Billy Miller played him. Now, he’s a disloyal, elitist, generally un pleasant person who also still manages to be a screw up. Phyllis continues to make excuses for him and blames Victoria for his hacking into her personal computer as if he were some little boy who cannot be held accountable for his actions. I hate this couple and hope they implode.
Another bone of contention–Traci has always been the invisible Abbott. Her mother favored Jack and her father favored Ashely calling her “my beauty.” This always bothered the heck out of me.
Other than that, Y&R is providing great entertainment while paying fidelity to the core families.

The Newman interruption was boring and I didn’t pay much attention to it.

“Another bone of contention–Traci has always been the invisible Abbott. Her mother favored Jack and her father favored Ashely calling her “my beauty.” This always bothered the heck out of me.”

Me too! Not to mention they had to KILL OFF her only child. Yet, Traci just keeps picking herself up again and again especially for the insipid, Abby. I cannot WAIT until Abby turns her mother’s situation into a “poor me” one now that she is NOT Abbott blood. Besides, once the truth comes out about her sex ring boyfriend, she is going to have a whole world of new problems.

Yes, Chrystie. I like Abby, but she does have a knack of turning everything on herself.
You make me laugh, my friend…..she will have a breakdown….right about the time Melissa leaves ( maternity ).
Notice how “Abby” always carries something to hide her growing tummy?

Abby is so adept at making everything all about her. As she watches drama unfold you see her brows furrow as she ponders,”How do I make this all about me?”
I swear, Abby’s only purpose seems to be to bust into an interesting scene, suck the oxygen out of the room by boring everyone half to death.
Her mantra seems to be,”I am so sick of being stuck in the middle of the Abbott and Newman war.” I half expected her to make that redundant plaintive wail upon learning that her Grandpa is not John Abbott. But of course that would not make sense because now Abby is not an Abbott so she is going to have to come up with a new slogan.
I do not buy Abby as some brilliant business woman as she doesn’t seem very bright to me. She always looks and acts confused.

I was floored on how bad the acting was in the big scene today at the end of the show. Was this the crack that broke the head writers back, and got them fired?? It was a big letdown, especially from Max Shippee (Graham.) And even Beth Maitland (Traci) whom I always love seeing looked so bad with her mouth wide opened as she realized that Ashley is now only her half-sister. I have to hope that Friday’s show has a different director. To have such a big build up, only to have it as a big letdown, is disappointing for the number 1 soap.

I do not disagree with your summation but maybe that it why I liked it!
I could use some good old fashioned escapism right now.
The Northern California fires have gotten me really down—2017 has been a lousy year so yes, I could use a little campy, soapy, old fashioned fun.

I agree. I thought Beth Maitland’s acting was “off”-she appeared to be, well, (fake) acting. I think the storyline just turned out to be so stupid (IMO).

Yes, dmr. The storyline is nothing to gush about. But, I cannot deny the superlative acting by a select few, as I have mentioned.
I think that the fact we already knew Ashley was not an Abbott killed the climax at first breath.
Again, as Mary SF said….the plot would have been much more impactful had Graham and Ashley been siblings.

Agreed! I was very under-whelmed by the climax! Eileen and the others always rock it, but Shippee was pretty rough. Hopefully he’ll loosen up as time goes on?

I guess I’m a cheap date. I don’t know why I enjoyed it, but I did.

I though Ashley and Dina were spectacular, Joe. Max did disappoint, agreed….but, my attention was on Dina. I had almost forgotten how proudly, and impeccably she holds “court”. ….better than the Newman caca.

dag! right, ON.. Celia

marquee !

absolutely

fire this up

can never get enough… Dina and Gloria

will always tip my hat @ Elieen Davidson

@Patrick.
Hey Patrick,
I did get your other post in my inbox. You always make my day, my friend.
Yes, Dina and Gloria never disappoint. I would elaborate, but, I’m out the door.
Later.

I am very involved in this whole storyline. Even though I have watched Y and R since it began, I don’t recall how Dina proved to Ashley that Brent Davis was her real father.. was there a DNA test, or blood test? Can anyone help me out with this. All I remember was Ashley was involved with Marc Mergeron and that he turned out to be her half-brother, right?

Is there proof that Brent is really Ashley’s father?

Either way, I hate to see Graham leave the show. I really like the character.

I don’t know why everyone is so shocked because Ashley found out years ago that Brent was her father and that John wasn’t . No bit whoop

I thought the episode was sort of lackluster. As much as I love Eileen Davidson, I wish the TPTB would find a suitable love interest for her. I would love to see an old-fashioned love story for Ashley. I can’t stand Graham. He’s so creepy. The actor must be doing his job well because I find the way that he delivers his lines creepy and slimy. If I were Ashley and I saw a photo of Graham in a yearbook with my biological father’s last name, I would have automatically thought that he was my half brother. Not sure that thought crossed her mind? The scene just didn’t seem to be well-written or thought out well, IMO. I just thought, what a terrible celebration, ha! THEN, Abby, walking in and immediately being her annoying self. She walks in late to a celebration for her mother and greets Dina by telling her about Nick. Seriously, as much as I like the actress, the character is just so annoying-reminds me of insipid Lulu on GH.

DMR, there is a rumor out there that Michael E Knight is coming back as Doctor Neville. The rumor mill is saying that it will be Victor Newman who summons this miracle doctor to tend to his very sick daughter, Victoria Newman.
I really hope this turns out to be true.
I really like Ravi but he doesn’t quite fit with Ashley. I thought Simon and Ashley were a great pair and would like that to see that relationship realize its potential.
Moreover, I am a huge Michale E Knight fan.

‘Brilliant Minds’ Officially Canceled After 2 Seasons at NBC; DAYS Alum Al Calderon, OLTL Alum Teddy Sears and Zachary Quinto Among the Cast

Published

After languishing on the bubble for months, on Friday, NBC handed down the decision and canceled the medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons.

Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as neurology physician Oliver Wolf, who’s character and the series is inspired by the life and books of neurologist. Oliver Sacks. The series focuses on the medical mysteries of the mind, as Wolf a larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.

The final six episodes of what will now be the end of its second and final season were already set to air beginning on May 27, after being pulled off the network schedule in February as viewership saw a steep decline. Brilliant Minds second season became the lowest-rated drama on linear TV viewing, which didn’t bode well fo a network renewal, although it had its hard core fan base.

There are some exceptional notables in the cast along with the talented Quinto that includes Days of Our Lives alum, Al Calderon (ex-Javi Hernandez) who joined the series in its second season as Nurse Nico Silva, and One Life to Live alum, Teddy Sears (ex-Chad Bennett) who plays Wolf’s love interest and fellow physician, Dr. Josh Nichols.

The rest of the talented cast includes: Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus.

In an ironic twist of fate on Thursday, April 30, Days of Our Lives finally revealed the actor who was Al Calderon’s successor in the role of Javi, when they announced that actor Jacob Martinez had now stepped into the role. Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming new episode, Calderon left in the spring of 2025, but will be seen in the part for the final part this month, and then on June 20, Martinez debuts as Salem’s new Javi.

Taking to his Instagram with a sorrowful and heartfelt post on the Brilliant Minds cancellation was Teddy Sears who wrote, “Thank you, Brilliant Minds. I got the call today and I didn’t want to hear, but I knew that it would come, You have to be a particular vintage to quote Don Henley from memory, but that’s the line that came to mind earlier today after I got off the phone with our inimitable showrunner Michael Grassi who delivered the news that NBC has cancelled the series”.

Photo: NBC

Sears continued, “To say that I feel sad to be moving on from these stories, this character, and this cast and crew just doesn’t paint the entire picture. I’m sad, sure. But I’m also deeply grateful that I got hired to play this part, so proud of the stories we told, and the other actors I got to play alongside. I’m excited to see what comes next, what adventures await, and terrified to be without a professional home. A quick and heartfelt thank you to everyone, all over the globe, who found us and found themselves in us, in our characters and in our stories. We wouldn’t have been able to tell them without you. And we still have 6 fresh episodes yet to air, and I do hope you tune in enjoy the remainder of the series. They’re the best we’ve done.”

As he wrapped up his sentiments, Sears signed off with, “The more I know, the less I understand. All the things I figured out I have to learn again. I’ve been trying to get down to the heart of the matter. But everything changes…Thank you, Brilliant Minds.”

The medical drama was created and executive produced by Michael Grassi alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Jasmine Russ, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra.

‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?

Published

on

By

On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.

As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.

Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Courtesy/ABC

Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.

BROTHERLY LOVE?

Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”

With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”

BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE

Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”

So, who do you think will be the person to blow Cassius’ cover? Will it be Britt herself? Josslyn? Liesl? Brennan? Nina? Lulu? Rocco, Maxie, Cullum or someone else? Let us know your pick in the comment section.
