On Monday, the now former co-hosts of ABC’s beleaguered afternoon news/talk program GMA3: What You Need to Know have exited the company in two different ways.

First, Eva Pilgrim has taken over Deborah Norville’s old spot as the anchor of the syndicated newsmagazine series, Inside Edition. Pilgrim will begin her new gig in the fall.

In a statement, Inside Edition’s executive producer, Charles Lachman shared, “I feel like we won the jackpot to have Eva join our team as the next anchor of Inside Edition. She has solid news chops from her years as a reporter and anchor in national and local news, plus a warm relatability that resonates with audiences. We look forward to having a journalist of her caliber take Inside Edition into its next chapter.”

Pilgrim will only be the fourth anchor of the program. In a statement, she shared, (Anchoring) “Inside Edition is truly a dream job. I have been an avid viewer and fan of the show for many years. I’m pinching myself that I get to work with this amazing team. It’s truly an honor to join a show with such a long, rich history.”

Meanwhile, her former GMA3 co-host, DeMarco Morgan is exiting ABC all together. According to a memo to his staff at ABC News, the department president, Almin Karamehmedovic noted, “Demarco has decided to begin a new journey and will be departing ABC News.”

Morgan and Pilgrim have hosted GMA3: What You Need to Know since 2023, when they, along with Jennifer Ashton, succeeded Amy Robach and TJ Holmes who left under scrutiny after their affair became public.

Now GMA3’s immediately plans call for Good Morning America “extended family” of personalities to share hosting duties including: Lara Spencer, Will Reeve, Gio Benitez, Sam Champion, Rachel Scott and James Longman.

So, what do you think of GMA3 trying to figure out their hosting issues? Are you glad Eva and DeMarco are out? Do you want to see the GMA team switching up as co-hosts? Should this show just once and for all be canceled? Comment below.

Cancel it and give us a new ABC soap like a Dark Shadows reboot.

Your right to much news I
Watch Hallmarkc

GMA is awful and pointless TV. I agree, cancel it and do a Dark Shadows reboot. Great idea!!

I liked Eva and DeMarco and sorry to see them go. I think GMA needs to realize they aren’t the Today Show. Their format seems to work. Maybe they should just cut their losses. I don’t think the new lineup for GMA3 will change anything.

I like them both a will miss seeing them on ABC news. As for what their doing at ABC news, for them to let go of two talent like that is on them, News is a cutthroat business so who knows what their going to do, but from what i’m seeing them do now its basically a repeat on whats done on the second hour of the show, so nothing original about the 3rd hour whatsoever.

Get rid of it altogether. The rotating crew of hosts is tiresome. The show has never found its niche, and it has never really been able to define who its target audience is.

Originally, it was on during covid. The show is no longer needed

ABC should cancel the show and follow CBS by adding a daytime drama to their line up. They would gain a lot of viewers in that hour by creating a Llanview/Pine Valley based series. Something new with enough of the qualities that made OLTL and AMC so loved. It’s time ABC to do the right thing.

Agree 100%

yup

They should get rid of it all together a revive All My Children and One Life to Live! ABC made a huge mistake when they cancelled those two shows to go to the news/talk show format. Television is saturated with that already 24 hours a day.

Demarco was pushed out by underlying circumstances. It’s sad that ABC is only looking for perfect people in the midst of imperfect people. Going downhill fast.

Very sad to see Eva and DeMarco leave. Loved them on the saw. Think the change is a big mistake!

Just take G M A 3 Off.

Cancel it , it’s already on for too many hours. Please put All My Children back where it belongs and its loyal viewers will be tuning in every day.

yup

Cancel the show

They should cancel it. ABC airs GMA for hours in the morning and all GMA3 does is repeat what aired earlier that day. Between ABC and local news, which is on from 3pm to 7pm in my area, I think ABC features way too much news coverage. I wish they would bring back a new soap. Bring back Port Charles, GH Night Shift, AMC reboot.

Brian Frons is the ABC exec who cancelled OLTL and AMC in favor of the crap that’s on ABC now, which is more tired, old video and same stories you saw the night before. Someone, please find Mr. Frons and slap him!

This wins the post of the week!

agree

agreed

bring back all my childrren and one life to live. we will watch them\

DeMarco Morgan was the best thing about GMA3. I will not be watching anymore.

Two many different replacements! They were good together!
