52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards: ‘General Hospital’ Scores Most Wins and Drama Series; Nancy Lee Grahn and Paul Telfer Take Top Acting Honors, Lisa Yamada Makes History
On Friday, the 52nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out in a just under a three-hour ceremony, this time with the main awards and creative arts combined in one ceremony, and it was ABC’s General Hospital that came away as the night’s big winner.
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced the winners from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena California and streaming live on their website watch.theemmys.tv and via The Emmys app, hosted by Mario Lopez.
In the end, General Hospital took home 7 awards including for Drama Series, Lead Actress, Supporting Actor, Guest Performer, Writing, Directing and Costume Design. GH won the Drama Series award last year as well.

GH’s Jonathan Jackson picked up his sixth all-time Daytime Emmy, in his shortened return as Lucky Spencer. Jackson is just under his mentor and former TV father, Anthony Geary for the most-winning actor in Daytime Emmy history. Geary holds the record at 8. In addition, GH’s Nancy Lee Grahn now has a Lead Actress Emmy to go with her two Supporting Actress Emmy wins.
B&B’s Lisa Yamada became the first winner in the new NATAS category of Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series for her work as Luna Nozawa on the CBS soap. Yamada’s win is also historic in nature becoming the first Asian-American acting winner from a network soap opera in Daytime Emmy history.

Days of our Lives star Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) presented Deborah Norville with the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for the news anchor/host whose career that spanned local news in Atlanta and New York, followed by the Today show, CBS News and Inside Edition, the latter where she has been anchor for 30 years (she has announced this current season is her last, having started a new gig hosting the syndicated game show The Perfect Line).
In the talk show categories, soap alums, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) and Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo, AMC) took home the gold (they were not present), winning in the Outstanding Talk Show category for Live with Kelly and Mark, and Drew Barrymore took the gold for Outstanding Talk Series host for The Drew Barrymore Show.

Sir David Attenborough became the oldest Daytime Emmy winner ever at 99 for Outstanding Daytime Personality – Non-Daily – for Secret Lives of Orangutans; plus the ceremony honored this year’s Gold and Silver Circle Inductees for their dedication and longevity in daytime television, which included: Gold Circle winner, Jane Elliot (Tracy, General Hospital), Silver Circle winners James Reynolds (Abe, DAYS), Kate Linder (Esther, Y&R) and noted casting director, Judy Blye Wilson (All My Children, The Young and the Restless, One Life to Live), and others.

So, what did you think of the night’s big winners at the 52nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
This should have been televised. Viewers watch their shows everyday and we can’t even enjoy watching the Daytime Emmys for one evening. Sports dominate television but we don’t get to celebrate seeing the nominees on their special day!
Congratulations to Nancy-well deserved. By why JJ? He slept walked through his last stint as Lucky. I always loved his acting but suddenly found myself fast forwarding through his scenes. Both the nomination and win seems to be a knee jerk reaction to his legacy. His win was not well deserved.
Agree on Jonathan Jackson, big fan.. but not a Emmy worthy this past year.
Nancy had the best speech of the night!
How were you able to view it?
Harry
You can watch the entire ceremony either online or download the Emmy app on a smart tv
Thank you. I wish they had televised it. I’m sure it would have garnered great ratings.
They would have had to put a lot more $ into the production. It came across as rather amateurish.
Love Alexis Davis. Speech was NOT needed. Politics is entertainment.
The daily clown show by this administration is certainly not entertaining.
Congratulations on all the Winners, especially Paul Telfer from DAYS!.I am a big Jonathan Jackson fan, but with his shortened run on GH, I don’t think he was worthy of a Emmy nod. I hope with having another soap (BTG), next year it will be on Network TV and split it into two nights again. In my opinion, the format last night was awful. Very boring to a long time viewer of the Emmys. Not a lot of Daytime Soap Presenters. Some of the people I had never heard of….I will check on the Secret Life of Animals and Orangutans, as they were BIG winners last night! Will look forward to hearing about other opinions of the night
So happy for Lisa Yamada!
Nancy is yesterday’s mashed potatoes.
Happy for Jane Elliott!
And for Xander on Days so hot!!!
Well, of course Dottie, who is known for constantly attacking Beyond the Gates for obvious reasons, doesn’t like Nancy Lee Grahn. Who’s going to tell Dottie that Jane shares the same political views as Nancy and that they’re close friends?
No one mentioned anyone’s politics or BETG
Harry,
Are you being a fortune teller? The woman is entitled to her opinion even if it doesn’t match with yours.
Michael
Harry rightly alludes to the numerous times that poster has made racial digs at BTG. She doesn’t deserve a free pass.
I don’t read every post on here so I stand corrected. My bad.
A shout out to Lisa Yamada and of course my man Paul Telfer It’s a shame the show wasn’t televised but what network wants to run a GH infomercial! Winning show direction and writing again is undeserved as is the even worse win for ms mills as guest and the poorly written return of Lucky yes let’s win writing and supporting actor as we write a sleep walking return that makes sense
Well deserved wins for Nancy Grahn, Lisa Yamada and Alley Mills. The Y&R shut out represents the state of the show. The Paris storyline was a dud and Cane as the new power player in town is going nowhere. Now, we have the LA story, which I think Griffith is trying to do a version of To Live and Die in LA. Please stop with the gimmicks and give us interesting characters and compelling stories. What is it going to take for CBS to wake up!
Y&R wasn’t shut out. Susan Walters won for supporting actress.
That says it all.
For those who were offended by Nancy Lee Grahn’s acceptance speech, she stood up for democracy and asked the audience (in person and the viewers) to do the same. At this time, there is clearly a need to sound the alarm about the threat the current president poses to democracy as well as to the rule of law, checks and balances in our government, and decency itself. If you don’t see the damage and dictatorial moves this guy is perpetrating, you are not paying attention! I stand with Nancy Lee Grahn. I, too, stand up!
Great post!
Amen!
I’m glad that GH won the most awards, and I’m happy for Drew Barrymore winning Best Talk Show Host.
Lisa’s win is so deserved. I don’t like Luna right now, but Lisa is doing a great job.
Congratulations to Susan and Paul.
I think an actor should only be allowed to be nominated once per character as a guest performer. Alley should submit in Supporting Actress. You aren’t still a guest two years on.
Was very disappointed. Went to the web couldn’t complete.
Looking at webs Jane Elliot deserved her win.
It has been told that her look was in memory of Diane Keaton.
Just saw a Emmy recap on entertainment tonight Disgusting only mentioned gh wins and Kelly and mark ABC sided much they didn’t even mention Nancy Lee gran but mentioned the joke wins of ally mills and Johnathan Jackson and of course there own Emmy win Bad news
Congratulations to Paul Telfer, Susan Walters, Lisa Yamada & DAYS for Casting. Hopefully next year, it won’t be the GH show! BTG will HOPEFULLY shake things up!

As The World Turns
Scott Bryce, ‘As the World Turns’ Craig Montgomery, Passes Away at 68

UPDATED: Heartbreaking news to report this Sunday evening, July 13. Two-time Daytime Emmy nominee and beloved soap veteran and television actor Scott Bryce (ex-Craig Montgomery, As the World Turns) has died at the age of 68.
Lucie Arnaz Luckinbill, Bryce’s longtime friend and former co-star announced his death via her Facebook under an hour ago (in a post that has now been deleted, but see below). Arnaz expressed, “a wonderful actor, a beautiful man and a terrific husband and father, Scott Bryce, passed tonight. I am going to miss his eyes, his smile, his wit, his brain, his intelligence, his talent, his bravery, his laugh and his hugs. Dearest Jodi, dear Jackson, he’s watching over you now from a place of pure joy and will always be your guide. But, I hate these goodbyes. Rest in peace you marvelous, magnificent man”.
Previously, Bryce was diagnosed with Stage 3 esophageal and stomach cancer back in October of 2024. He had credited early detection as a vital part of his journey. He had underwent medical treatment and had since reported being “on the mend.”

SCOTT BRYCE’S RUN AS CRAIG MONTGOMERY WAS MEMORABLE
However, Lucie Arnaz shared on her Facebook post in the comment thread section when asked, that Scott’s cancer had returned. She has appeared in two projects with Bryce, the Indie film, The Pack and the TV series, Sons and Daughters.
Jackson Bryce, Scott’s beloved son, shared a beautiful tribute to his father after his passing on his Instagram where he shared that, “What began as stage three esophageal cancer eventually spread and became brain tumors that took his life away from him.”
Scott was the son of actor Ed Bryce, who was best-known for his role on the soaps as Bill Bauer on Guiding Light from 1959 to 1983. On As the World Turns, Scott had a significant run as Craig Montgomery, and at one point was initially paired on-screen with Meg Ryan (ex-Betsy Stewart). Bryce had appeared on the CBS soap opera from 1982–1991, 1993–1994, and 2007–2008.
AS THE WORLD TURNS CO-STAR PAYS TRIBUTE
On As the Word Turns, Scott’s on-screen romance was with Finn Carter, who played Sierra Esteban was a fan favorite for longtime viewers.
Carter expressed her grief on Instagram following the news of Bryce’s passing sharing, “My sadness knows no bounds. My gratitude for Scott knows even fewer. Scott was the best husband a woman could ask for. As an actor he was fearless, kind, generous and forever looking for ways to grow. And what a sense of humor! It is so difficult to write this as I can not stop crying . Scott , you were a gift that I did not deserve and one the world was freely given . All of my love to you – ah, just can’t stop crying. See you soon ( not too soon) and look forward to recalling our days on As The World Turns . You patiently taught me so much . XO”
It was during his initial run that Scott received two Daytime Emmy nominations for his performances as the manipulative Craig Montgomery. Bryce was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in both 1986 and 1987.
Bryce exited ATWT in February of 2008 and by December of that year, Jon Lindstrom, (Beyond the Gates, General Hospital) was brought in as the final Craig from 2008-2010 as the soap went off the air. Over the years, Hunt Block and Jeffrey Meek also played the role of Craig.
FROM OAKDALE TO PRIMETIME
In addition, Scott appeared in numerous episodic comedy and drama series throughout his career with roles in: Murphy Brown, The Facts of Life, ER, Law & Order, Reba and Sex and the City and Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, Homeland, 30 Rock to name but a few. On the soaps, Bryce also appeared on One Life to Live in the role of a psychiatrist, Dr. Ed Crosby, from 2006-2007.
Scott is survived by his wife Jodi Stevens and their son, Jackson.
Michael Fairman TV will bring you further updates on this developing story.
Share your remembrances and condolences for Scott Bryce via the comment section below. But first check out these scenes featuring Scott in moments from As the World Turns with Cady McClain and Marie Wilson.
