Adam Huss Returns to General Hospital as Nikolas Suggests to Ava They Take Down Esme
Huss has been playing the role of the dark prince of the Cassadine clan on and off since 2021. Adam had temporary replaced Marcus Coloma in the part a few times during Coloma’s run.
However, following Coloma’s permanent departure in December of 2022, Huss returned to reprise the role. The character of Nikolas and his most recent portrayer, Huff, last resurfaced on-air back in August and September of 2023.
Now in 2024, and from the looks of it, Nikolas has a plan to payback Esme (Avery Pohl) and wants Ava to be a part of the revenge plot with him; after all Esme helped destroy their marriage.

In story, when Nikolas shocks Ava by turning up on New Year’s Eve, he tells his ex, that he is not back to hurt her, and that he feels terrible for what happened between them.
As they discuss their troubled relationship, and Austin’s death, Nikolas brings it back around to how they were both played by Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) and Esme. Since Ryan is dead, that leaves Esme still walking around. Ava and Nikolas are unaware that Esme’s memory has returned.

So, if Ava agrees to join forces with Nikolas for a common cause, it looks like Huss could be hanging around Port Charles for awhile.

I agree. I too, am happy that Adam Huss will resume the role of Nikolas. However, with the recent passing of Tyler Christoper, I was speculating that GH would retire the character forever.
Over the years it’s been a hit/miss for fans with the various actors playing Nik. I am not saying I wanted GH to permanently kill off Nikolas, but I was thinking of how the F.V. (EP) would carry onward with Nik after Tyler’s passing, no matter who continued to play the character.
I was trying to figure out who would be the nu-Nik. I thought the show would recast or kill off Nikolas for good out of respect for the diehard Tyler Christopher fans. But, surprise surprise, Adam Huss is back, I am happy that GH is going to continue telling the stories of Nikolas, Ava, Spencer, Ace, Laura & (LULU?)… But for how long…?
I am either team Nik & Ava or Nik & Elizabeth. I am not a fan of Finn & Elizabeth no matter how much GH tries to pair them up once again.

There are several reasons for Nikolas to stay around Port Charles, He has a lot to work out with Spencer, Laura, Esme, Ava, among others. Maura West is too good to not be involved in a major storyline. I hope Nik will stay for an extended time.
I love GH, but the time has come to trim the cast. There are too many characters who we are not seeing enough and some that seem to lose steam because we never see them on screen. I’d like to see more Joss and Dex, Valentin/Charlotte and Anna. Please put us out of our misery with Finn and Elizabeth.
So glad they didn’t use the Joss replacement during Carlys initial grief. It just wouldn’t seem right with a stranger sharing all those emotions. Bad enough with Nina horning in on all the sadness now.

It’s more of a tribute to Tyler Christopher to continue on with the character of Nikolas. I’m sure Christopher would be pleased Nik is back on canvas. And quit hating on Adam Suss
SO happy for Adam Huss to be continuing his duration as Nikolas Cassadine. In comparison to his predecesor, he is a breath of fresh air. And his chemistry with Maura West is out of this world!

Can’t stand this actor, every time he speaks, it’s with a snarl. Hope no one thinks this is sexy and haven’t they all done enough to Esme, starting with her own parents, then Nickolas and Prince Spencer and anyone else wanting a shot at her. Why can’t they give her a chance to make ammends?

Larry, I don’t disagree with you. I was commenting on his looks to me as a woman, not sexy at all, speaks like a hood, not refined , but the chemestry with Ava is there.
Have you watched recently? Esme doesn’t want to give amends. She’s keeping the recovery of her memory a secret.

I miss Tyler and his smile. He played Prince Cassadine better than anyone could. I think many were hoping Tyler would someday come back to be that Prince again. I don’t think he would want the character of Nikolas Cassadine killed off or “retired.

I remember rooting for Fizz, I think mainly because I like them both as their characters and portrayers but I’m afraid they are seriously boring… what brought this up is someone said Nik with Liz and there’s no way Adam Huss could ever be anything with Liz like Tyler, he was the best! And I fell in love Finn’s portrayer as John McBain (crap, do I have the last name right?)… Liz needs someone to bring excitement in her life and Finn needs to be with boring Alexis, no I can’t do that to him. Back to Nik… I watch Adam Huss on lifetimes movies and he’s not a bad actor but he’s not Nikolas. It’s going to take someone to take our breath away and change the character’s venue. He doesn’t even care about his children and that does Tyler Christopher an injustice, nobody could pull it off and us love him and his vulnerability. It’s pretty pathetic.
I really liked Marcus in the role, but if they’re not bring him back as Nikolas, I’m glad it’s Adam. I like his Nikolas, too.

Why would they want to take HER son away? She’s been a great mom to Ace, with Laura’s help and blessings. I’m surprised Ava can take care of her own kid, let alone someone else’s.
I wish this actor didn’t play “angry” all the time. Even when he tried to soften toward Ava, he came across as just nasty. Couldn’t GH find somebody who can play a range of emotions?

Does anyone else thinks Adam Huss looks like Stavros. When he come back for his first scene with Ava, thats when I noticed it.

Not a fan of Adam Huss as Nikolas. He is my least favorite actor to play the role. Tyler Christopher was the one & only Nikolas for me personally. Marcus Coloma was not perfect for the role either but waaaaaaaay better then Adam. I would prefer Marcus back in the Role or someone brand new that is closer acting ability wise to Tyler.
Really enjoying Adam Huss in the role. He was stellar today (Monday) in his reunion with Spencer (Nicholas Chavez was also stellar). If Huss is here for the long haul, the role seems to be in great hands. No, he won’t be the same as Tyler Christopher or Marcus Coloma. But he’s bringing real emotion to the part and holding his own with likes of Genie Francis, Maura West and Mr. Chavez, all powerhouse actors on the show.
CANNOT stand Adam Huss as Nikolas. Doesn’t suit the character at all. Missing Ty Christopher

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
