All My Children has part of fan favorite couple ‘Zendall’ slated to appear on the upcoming Prospect Park revival of the series when heartthrob Thorsten Kaye signed on to reprise his role of Zach Slater.  However, one of the top hold-outs thus far has been his on-screen lady love played by Alicia Minshew (Kendall).   However, according to an update today exclusively at TV Line.com, Minshew related her status with the online reboot!

“I’m really excited for the fans to have their shows back,” said Minshew. “I am currently in discussions with Prospect Park to work out scheduling around other projects I have already committed to, We’re keeping the lines of communication open, and hopefully it can work out for me to join later on.”

Alicia has been one busy bee since AMC concluded on ABC, shooting two independent films with another one in which she will co-star up next titled …  Here And Now!

So soapers, can you be patient for the return of Kendall as played by Alicia Minshew?  Do you hope things can work out to accomadate her schedule? Let us know!

Rebecca Budig has gone onto the record stating that she has been asked, however, has some other projects she’s involved in at the moment, but is open to suggestions of how they could make it work for her to return.

I hope they do manage to get AM back on board at some point. But I hope they do it WITHOUT Rebecca Budig. Her and Kendall together were a toxic and unenjoyable friendship I could never believe in. And the bitter Valley Girl Greenlee has been a played out character for longer than I can remember.
I wish she and Cam Matt well – far, far away from Pine Valley.

I would be happy if it was just Erica and Miranda and Maybe Bianca on periodic visits. I think it would great for it skip a generation and Erica having to deal with her Teen Granddaughter, like the old Mona/Erica moments.

I am totally thrilled about AMC coming home to Pine Valley. I am hoping for as many cast members as they can get. I will be satisfied if the rest make in and out visits to Pine Valley. Keep their door open. Who knows, they may finish up the projects that they have started and then be able to move back to Pine Valley. Father Clarence has been with me on this long journey. He tells me it is all going to work out. My trust is in his hands. He whispered this to me the first day AMC went… Read more »

I would be very happy for a new actress to take over the role of Kendall. I would rather have the original Bianca back . I will be happy to just get something going that I can watch. I can wait for actors to join in later.

I could personally live with Alicia Minshew as Kendall. I say re-cast the character or try and bring Sarah Michelle Gellar back to the fold. Moving AMC back to the east coast is what’s driving the show to not get its core actors/actresses back. A lot of them located back to Los Angeles for the series, and that’s why it worked. You’ve got to get people invested in re-locating their whole lives again to make it work. My only hope is that Christina Bennett Lind (Bianca), Sarah Glendening (Marissa), Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) and Natalie Hall (Colby) sign on for the… Read more »

Never cared for the role of Bianca or the story line.

I’m hopeful that Alicia Minshew can return as soon as possible because (a) she’s the definitive Kendall, a character that I love, and (b) she and Thorsten Kaye’s Zach have dynamite chemistry together. Greenlee (RB) would be a welcome addition too, but somehow I’ve always preferred Kendall. Kendall’s the daughter of Erica Kane, the daughter most like Erica, and a mighty Kane Woman. But what about Bianca—shouldn’t she be back too, for the same reason? Both of Erica’s daughters need to be on the scene for the reboot!

My dream would be to have Kendall, Greenlee, Erica, Bianca, Zach, Erica and Jack back. No, truth is my dream would be to have all of AMC characters back; they never should have been cancelled. I still refuse to watch ABC Daytime and as for the CHEW, I still say ABC was crazy!

Katie I so agree with you I still won’t watch abc daytime and the Chew should be on all the other cooking channels. Do they think they don’t have enough of them yet. Kendall played by Alica has got to come back. What will Zack do without her?? Not that he cant’ play any role they give him but the show is about them to together for ever.No one else will ever fit into her role with Zack. So I hope they don’t try that one.

How about it for Alica to return as Kendall???

If Alicia isn’t back as Kendall, Zandall won’t work. It shocked me to see TK signed on for sure, but without AM it isn’t Zandall. So PLEASE find a way to work with her schedule and bring her back as Kendall.

Beloved Soap Stars Left Out of 2021 Primetime Emmy Broadcast In-Memoriam Tribute

Last night, during the presentation of the 73rd annual Primetime Emmys broadcast on CBS, the annual In-Memoriam segment brought with it so many households names in a year that saw so many legacy talents and more pass away.

The tribute was performed by Leon Bridges and Jon Batiste to Bridge’s song, “River”, and as the images of the departed played across the screens from Cloris Leachman to Cicely Tyson, to Ed Asner to Michael K. Williams, and more, it was clear that several of the major late daytime soap stars were not included in the on-air tribute as well as other omissions.

Now granted, we know they will all be a part of next year’s 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards in-memoriam segment, but still these actors were a part of this community and not only appeared on the soaps, but other shows as well.

Those that daytime fans noticed were not included were: Michael Nader (Ex-Dex Dexter and Dimitri Marick, Dynasty and All My Children) Stuart Damon (Ex-Alan Quartermaine, General Hospital), Ray MacDonnell (Ex-Joe Martin, All My Children) and Jay Pickett (Ex-Frank Scanlon, Port Charles).

From primetime MIA action were: Michael Constantine (Ex-Room 222), Tanya Roberts (Ex-Charlie’s Angeles), Director, Richard Donner, writer Larry McMurty, and DMX, to name but a few.

However, the Television Academy did list all of its members who died on their website in the In-Memoriam section, because due to time constraints, they could not possibly showcase everyone.

What do you feel about the omissions of Nader, Damon, MacDonnell, Pickett, and more from the In-Memoriam tribute? Let us know in the comment section, but first watch the segment.

AMC Alum Sarah Michelle Gellar Reflecting on Her Time on Soaps: “Anything I Can Do to Continue the Legacy I’m Very Proud Of”

Daytime fans knew of Sarah Michelle Gellar her way before her Buffy the Vampire Slayer days, when she stepped on to the small screen as Erica’s (Susan Lucci) troubled daughter Kendall Hart on ABC’s All My Children.

Gellar played the role from 1993 to 1995, and made a brief return in 2011 as the show came to its conclusion on ABC. Additionally, Sarah won a Daytime Emmy for her performance in the Outstanding Younger Actress category in 1995.

Sarah has partnered with Lysol for their brand’s Disinfecting Wipes “Buy One, Donate One” program. where now through September 26, whenever a pack of Lysol Disinfecting Wipes is purchased, another pack will automatically be donated to an under-resourced school through the Kids In Need Foundation.

The program is aimed to help curb the spread of illness-causing germs in schools this back-to-school season, a total of up to 16 million packs of Lysol Disinfecting Wipes will be donated to Title I schools across the country.

The program is the latest component of Lysol’s HERE for Healthy Schools initiative. Started in 2019 with the mission to help curb the spread of preventable illness and to help kids miss less school so they are able to learn, grow and thrive, HERE for Healthy Schools has provided educational materials for students and Lysol disinfecting supplies for educators and administrators to more than 49,000 schools across the country. This year, HERE for Healthy Schools is focused on helping to protect children, educators and parents as they make their big return to in-person learning in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking with TV Insider on the partnership, Gellar recalled her time on the soaps and how it changed her career and outlook, noting: “it was the training ground for the rest of my career.”

She went on to say: “I made incredible friends at that time and I learned incredible work habits, and soap operas are an intense amount of work, and I’m incredibly grateful for that time and the people that I met.  We live in a world now where my kids don’t even really know what a soap opera is, so anything I can do to continue the legacy I’m very proud of.”

So, do you remember Sarah’s time on AMC? What do you think of her thoughts on her time on the soaps? Comment below.
