All My Children and One Life to Live Online Premiere Dates: Monday April 29th!

The news that soap fans have been waiting for has finally arrived and been confirmed this morning by The Online Network! Prospect Park’s reboot of the iconic All My Children and One Life to Live has an online premiere date for the first new episodes and that is … Monday, April 29th!

TOLN also revealed details how to use Hulu.com to view the new free daily episodes of your favorite soaps, and confirmed that One Life to Live begins its production next week on March 18th!

In an official press release this morning, here is what was stated:   “Prospect Park’s The Online Network (TOLN) announced today the highly-anticipated online debuts of the beloved long-running serial dramas All My Children and One Life to Live for Monday, April 29. With the date confirmed, millions of the shows’ fans and new viewers alike can plan to watch broadcast-quality versions of two of the most beloved franchises in history with easy access and for free.

“We thank the fans whose tenaciousness to see these shows return made this historical moment possible.  We are determined to repay their support by delivering new and creatively groundbreaking episodes that both the fans, as well as legions of new viewers, will love.   These viewers will absolutely embrace the flexibility HULU and iTunes provide to watch their shows anywhere, anytime,” said Jeff Kwatinetz and Rich Frank, Prospect Park’s Partners. “The response and camaraderie of our cast and crew has been inspiring as we have all banded together to succeed in our mission; unencumbered by the creative constraints of traditional broadcast television, to deliver storylines, style and characters that are stronger, with more dimension than ever.  Now with our launch date set in stone, we are ready to lead this historic return.  To the fans we proclaim, your support counts now more than ever.”

Emmy Award winner Agnes Nixon, creative consultant for both programs and a soap opera pioneer, added: “I am so pleased that our dream of bringing these two series back to life is coming to fruition. I am grateful to Prospect Park for their unwavering commitment to this project and to the amazingly talented casts of All My Children and One Life to Live – their devotion to these franchises has made this moment possible.  And to the fans – well, we wouldn’t be here without you.”

Brand new, 30-minute episodes of All My Children and One Life to Live will be available to stream online weekdays in HD (when available) via the free Hulu (www.hulu.com) service and to the millions of Hulu Plus subscribers watching on connected TVs, mobile phones, tables and PCs. In addition, the iTunes Store will offer both series via iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV and Mac and PC, making these venerable dramas available in a new format that suits the viewing habits of the digital generation.  Production began on All My Children February 25, and shooting will begin on One Life to Live March 18th. Both series are filmed in Stamford, Conn.

Breathing new life into the storied franchises, Prospect Park and TOLN will blend updated themes and fresh faces with the fan-favorite, Emmy-winning actors and writers who made these series must-watch viewing for legions of loyal fans.

Hulu is easy to use. Viewers can go to www.hulu.com on a PC and click on a video to watch right away. Videos are available for unlimited streaming, for free (users only need a Flash-enabled computer and an Internet connection to enjoy). Viewers can watch their favorite One Life to Live and All My Children episodes and clips over and over again for free. Hulu Plus is an ad-supported subscription service that offers exclusive streaming access to full current and past seasons of shows to connected devices for $7.99 monthly. Hulu is available on devices including smart TVs, gaming consoles, mobile phones and tablets and more.”

Thanks, but unless they clear a distrubtion deal for Canada… I’m sure we will see the “not in the US border” blocks. We need a deal with a Canadian provider.

So excited to see OLTL coming back. May even tune in to see AMC as well. Still a little confused on how to watch the new episodes. I thought they were also going to be on Netflix, but maybe I dreamed that up. I am hopeful that The Online Network does a promotional push for the re-boot of these two series and has a complete website up soon, explaining in detail how and where to watch the shows. I would also love to see a new message board to coincide with the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the message board that… Read more »

That is great news for those that can watch. Since Hulu isn’t available up here in Canada, I will get a bit more excited when it’s announced how we here in Canada can watch it for free.

My question is when I click on hulu.com it goes automatically to one week free then 7.99 so y’all keep saying it’s free but I don’t see that. I don’t wont to miss when they start on April 29. So please tell us what we need to do because that’s what we are seeing when we go there. Thanks Susanna

I believe in second chances and will take a look. I just hope when the say groundbreaking they dont just mean r rated stuff like some fans feared otherwise most of them wont give it a chance. Im no prude and can pass a few things so ill wait and see b4 i get judgemental. Also i hope they mean they dont have network interference like ABC did with Ryans Hope where they ruined that show by tinkering with its format. Now these two soaps have established fan base to help get it off the ground and that should be… Read more »

Viki turns into Niki Smith and gets a job at a topless bar called ‘Anything Goes’ were two of her alters hang out. Nora confesses to Bo she didnt really give birth to Rachel and Mathew because shes really a man. Bo tells Nora the only thing he ever noticed is that shes really not… Read more »

It shouldnt make a difference but after the part where i say ‘and save her from banckruptcy ‘ it shouldve included but Addie finds the jar and cooks its contents on the Kramer outdoor grill after mistaking it for Johnsville sausage. And none of this was meant to offend or be funny but i understand how some will think either way. My intentions was to get my point across.

Oh happy day, so glad everything was able to workout and am still a little shocked that we the fans were able to make our voices heard and actually have a company listen to us! All of us must turn in everyday to show ABC what a major F up they did by cancelling two proven shows by replacing them with crap that noboday watches or wanted!

The thing is, Firefox had a plugin that would mask your ip address to make it appear that you were within the US…. well, that doesn’t work anymore. I have used “proxy servers” before, and they too work for awhile, then get “found out” and are blocked….and with internet laws changing here in Canada, I for one am getting concerned about using “tricks” and “torrents” to circumvent these blocks. I hope that Prospect Park will be able to offer us Canadian a way to view, free of charge. It could become very pricey if I have to purchase the shows… Read more »

Wow !

I truly hope that Prospect Park can be the first online network to be able to provide world wide viewership. From the comments posted, these two shows have fans all across the world. I am sure many others are so very tired of the ‘not within the proper country‘ messages when trying to view online video content. If this could be achieved I think it could reap great rewards for the first online network that does.

‘can watch shows anytime, anywhere..’ that’s good cuz I don’t have any device to watch it on. need to find a cheap tablet for free wifi connection (any suggestions?), or pay for high speed at home…. either way it’s not going to be ‘free’ for me.

Well aren’t you paying for internet now?

Christy

not the kind you need to watch Hulu! according to their site, for free Hulu you need: “broadband internet connection. We recommend a downstream bandwidth of at least 1.5 Mbps for a smooth playback experience.” I’m still on dialup at $9.95. We’ve got faster internet at work, but we haven’t got the newest software/browser/flash versions because our main systems don’t work with anything but older stuff… but we have free wi-fi if you have a device you want to connect, so I’d have to buy something to watch on my lunch hour…. or spend a lot more than that to… Read more »

I love the big Ol Middle Finger we as fans are able to give ABC. They thought that we are just stupid housewives that could do nothing against the Mighty ABC! Well ABC Here is a big Ol F.U. To you and your stupidity for cancelling these 2 iconic shows and for underestimating the power of a bunch of “Housewives” and PP!!!

The soaps were never available to watch over here in the UK. I grew up on these soaps and I watched them every day till I moved in 2001. I sure do miss them!! It would be great if they became available on youtube. I just hope they won’t be expensive on iTunes!

Mark Consuelos Exits ‘Riverdale’

Last night, All My Children alum, Mark Consuelos (Ex-Mateo Santos) made what appears to be his final appearance for now on CW’s soapy drama, Riverdale.

Consuelos departed Riverdale as a series regular on the season 5 finale, after coming on to the show in its second season in the role of villain, Hiram Lodge.

Riverdale executive producer and showrunner, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, shared with Deadline a statement on Consuelos contribution and run on the series: “From the moment Mark joined us, he was up for literally anything, a hundred percent committed to making Archie’s life a living hell. And what’s funny is, Mark couldn’t be more different from Hiram. A classy pro and the sweetest guy, always looking out for everyone. We wish Mark the best and hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Hiram Lodge.

Consuelos offered up these sentiments in a statement on his Riverdale exit: “First and foremost, I would like to thank Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa for this incredible opportunity. Never before has playing a character that was so bad, felt so good. Huge thanks to the Riverdale fandom, to the brilliant crew and amazing cast, whom I consider dear friends and family.”

So, will you miss seeing Mark on Riverdale? Elsewhere, still no word on the “Pine Valley” reboot in which Mark and wife, Kelly Ripa, are two of the executive producers of that many All My Children fans were hoping would come to fruition. Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Beloved Soap Stars Left Out of 2021 Primetime Emmy Broadcast In-Memoriam Tribute

Last night, during the presentation of the 73rd annual Primetime Emmys broadcast on CBS, the annual In-Memoriam segment brought with it so many households names in a year that saw so many legacy talents and more pass away.

The tribute was performed by Leon Bridges and Jon Batiste to Bridge’s song, “River”, and as the images of the departed played across the screens from Cloris Leachman to Cicely Tyson, to Ed Asner to Michael K. Williams, and more, it was clear that several of the major late daytime soap stars were not included in the on-air tribute as well as other omissions.

Now granted, we know they will all be a part of next year’s 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards in-memoriam segment, but still these actors were a part of this community and not only appeared on the soaps, but other shows as well.

Those that daytime fans noticed were not included were: Michael Nader (Ex-Dex Dexter and Dimitri Marick, Dynasty and All My Children) Stuart Damon (Ex-Alan Quartermaine, General Hospital), Ray MacDonnell (Ex-Joe Martin, All My Children) and Jay Pickett (Ex-Frank Scanlon, Port Charles).

From primetime MIA action were: Michael Constantine (Ex-Room 222), Tanya Roberts (Ex-Charlie’s Angeles), Director, Richard Donner, writer Larry McMurty, and DMX, to name but a few.

However, the Television Academy did list all of its members who died on their website in the In-Memoriam section, because due to time constraints, they could not possibly showcase everyone.

What do you feel about the omissions of Nader, Damon, MacDonnell, Pickett, and more from the In-Memoriam tribute? Let us know in the comment section, but first watch the segment.
