General Hospital
Alley Mills is General Hospital’s Heather Webber
In a shocker that was kept under wraps, Friday’s episode of General Hospital brought with it the debut of ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ favorite, Alley Mills (ex-Pam).
While there was plenty of online conjecture of just what role Mills would play (especially once it was revealed that Denise Crosby was cast as Carolyn Webber), when Mills appeared on-screen for the first time in an orange prison jumpsuit, for a moment viewers may have been a bit perplexed.
However, having Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) witness the prisoner at GH was the key. When Liv lets out a scream in front of Finn (Michael Easton) and shares who exactly it is that has her so terrified, she admits it’s Heather Webber!
Mills has taken over playing the role of the iconic Heather from Robin Mattson, who was actually the third actress to play the role. Mattson played the part from 1980 to 2016.
Friday’s script even mentioned a nod to Heather’s days of drugging people with LSD, including Olivia (which kicked off her psychic visions), Diana Taylor, et al.
We have to say, it was quite fun seeing Alley playing the unhinged crazy Heather, which is a departure from her role as B&B’s Pam Douglas and as the mom on ABC’s The Wonder Years.
So, what are your first impressions and thoughts of Alley Mills as the recast Heather Webber?
Heather gave Olivia LSD. I think the nod was in reference to that.
Nobody had guessed this was coming. A (rare) good surprise from the writers and Frank.
Especially with a recast, you don’t bring a character like Heather back without a major storyline planned.
Expect interactions with Scott, Bobbie, Jeff and Elizabeth.
Will she be, as rumors are circulating, Esme’s birth mom (granted a late in life baby). Has she been escaping and hooking Ava, Brando, Diane and Axe?
Had Robin Mattson been the only Heather, it might have been impossible to recast. Let’s give Mills a little time to see what she’s got.
And, for clarification, Heather never successfully drugged Diana with LSD. Thanks to PJ (Steven Lars) and a lazy susan, Heather ingested the spiked iced tea that sent her off to the asylum. Not long after, Mattson assumed the role and the Diana murder story began.
With Heather, Jeff and Holly all returning within 10 days time it’s a good time for long term viewers.
Actually, “OG”Steve, I did mention Heather a few sites ago——I said she could be the “Hook”—-she managed to sneak out before—-sooo…I guess you missed it—LOL.
Too much of a coincidence—-does Victor have his dirty hand in this, too.
Also, I don’t trust Holly—something’s up.
Good call Celia.
I do agree Holly may be in cahoots with Victor. He’s too smart to get mixed up with Heather though.
November sweeps appears to hold many reveals plus Laura’s return (and possibly Tracy by month’s end).
Holly is definitely in cahoots with Victor but I”m thinking not by choice, so I think he’s threatening Ethan possibly.
Celia! OMG, forget Heather…who’s that hot guy in the blue shirts keeping hold of her in the photo? He’s also wearing blue pants…which I’d love to change places with. Cute face, great hair and physique. I want to know more.
Sorry, Soaphound—I was so intensely studying nuHeather, my eyes did not shift to the “hunk” of which you speak. But, I trust your description. LOL…I’ll have to rewind and see.
NuHeather has my attention. She’s not Robin, but she looks pretty wild and nuts.
She looks so much like Camilla ( the homewrecker-ROYALLY!!).—except that the actress is better looking. How does anyone go from Beauty to the Beast? Oh, brother—she must have a few bedroom tricks up her sleeve?? I wonder if the “Royal” covers her face.
Why all the pandemonium and hoopla? We fought a war to get away from the entitlement and oppression..
Aside—I was under the impression that when a British royal married a divorcée, he could never be king. Insn’t that the reason why Edward VIII ( Duke of Windsor) was forced to abdicate? That is the only reason, Elizabeth’s father, George, became king.
Tidbits of memories from my World History class are coming back to me……LOL
Agreed!
The Heather Grant Webber stories of the late 70s and 90s were awesome… The Taylors and the baby, Susan’s murder, Anne and Jeff… Top soap storytelling!
What happened to Robin Mattson? Was she not able to come back or was this storyline dictated? I liked Mattson in the role. No offense to the amazing Alley Mills. PS, I haven’t seen Friday yet.
No insider knowledge here, but there’s been scuttlebutt for a few years of Robin having health issues (likely why it’s been 6 years since we’ve seen Heather).
Frank is definitely a fan on her work and would have her back if she was available.
Please excuse all my typos—
That’s too bad. OG Steve. I hope Ronin is well—I really like her acting skills—-she’s something else—in a great way, that is!!
I only know Ally Mills’ work from The Wonder Years, where she played a sweet and docile mother. I had no idea she had such range. Her smile was eerie, and yet, realistic of someone who suffers from psychosis. It was a delightful surprise and right on time for Halloween!
In between The Wonder Years and GH, Alley played Pam Douglas on B&B. Pam was docile at the beginning and when she last aired. But there was a period Pam was mentally ill, and was very aggressive and violent. It does not compare to Heather Webber’s violent history however.
Uh okay… was Robin Mattson not interested or not available to come back?
I read that she has health issues & retired from acting.
I love it!!! Could she be the “hook” killer?
The only way that would make any sense at all is if Heather were Esme’s mother, and was doing all the “hookings” on her behalf.
I suppose it’s always possible Heather & Ryan might have met in a mental hospital somewhere & hooked up.
OMG, what a hookup that would have been, no pun intended. Any spawn from those two never had a chance of being normal. This idea isn’t any worse than any others floating around.
Yup—I mentioned that, as well, Satan—Great minds…..
Heather could be both Esme’s mother and the hook. Makes sense, yes? But, I wish it were Robin. No one else is able to portray the abominable Heather as she.
Yes, of course—Ryan and Heather met in “a” looney bin. Great guess, Satan!! Perhaps that’s the reason Esme was reared by a governess?
Today’s additional information about Heather’s “illness” that landed her in the hospital certainly seems to point in the direction of her being the Hooker. She has some sort of “flesh eating bacteria” which is native to the Amazon rainforest. Remember that the hooks have been dipped in a reptile venom which was also said to be from a South American source. Now I obviously don’t think Heather’s been taking weekend trips from the looney bin to Brazil, but whatever shady sources she’s buying her snake venom from, apparently they don’t take a lot of precautions to see that their buyers get poisoned in other ways that they didn’t pay for. Obviously Heather would have no reason to be the Hooker & attack all the people on Esme’s “enemies list”… unless Esme is her kid, and she’s showing her “motherly love” in the way that only Heather Webber can do!
I’m going to the dragon stables to tell Frodd he has a little sister.
HaHaHaHaHa!!!! And, yes, yes, yes—I told you, Satan, our great minds think alike. Plus, you can get “anything” at the border these days—-why not venom?
Soon after it was established that it was, indeed, a woman under that hood ( albeit I said Rory could pass as a woman since he’s so tiny —also, he’s shifty with a purpose), if I remember correctly, I did. mention Heather as both the “Hook” and Esme’s mother. Now that you said, it sounds so much more convincing because you know Heather’s history. I only “met” her in 2014?—or later, I think—as Franco’s mother.
Say Hi to Frodd for me—hope he’s not feeling the heat too much!!
If Heather is “mother hen” all of a sudden for Esme, why wouldn’t she also go after those who wronged Steven Lars or Franco in her opinion? Olivia, Elizabeth or Sam? Heather is definitely one to hold long-term grudges.
Good one, OG Steve. Heather’s rage is visible—if vendetta is on her unhinged mind, she owes it to her “loved ones” to vindicate them.
The timeline of when the letter to Alexis was written and the date is was mailed doesn’t mesh—could Heather have written the letter, saved it and bided her time to escape and then mail it?. Just one thing—-she’s not so small.
Satan
Apparently, Heather has not been on any weekend trips as you say, but what about someone visiting HER or someone she’s been in contact with that’s been hiding out at the funny farm, until they are ready to be the happy hooker again.
This fits with what they’ve been doing lately, recasting past characters with bigger name actors, such as Charles Shaughnessy taking over the role of Victor Cassadine. He’s still Maxwell Sheffield from The Nanny to me. Although he’s done a good job making the character his own, I still prefer Thaao Penghlis as Victor.
Robin Mattson is Heather Webber to me, so I would assume she wasn’t able to return for whatever reason. Her most recent Instagram post was in July and it mentions something about an upcoming knee surgery, so it may just be that she wasn’t available to return to GH at this time, and they made the decision to move on. Hopefully someone will be able to uncover the truth.
I know Alley Mills as the mom from The Wonder Years, didn’t see her on B&B. She’s an accomplished actress, so I’ll be interested to see what she brings to the role.
Well said, Dan——Agreed!
Robin Mattson is Heather. Why the recast!!?
I’m told she (RM) retired.
I know I just commented on this but it is just such an odd and inappropriate age wise casting decision. What is going on in FV”s mind?
Well she certainly looks the part!
The actress is age appropriate. She is the same age as Georganne La Pierre who originated the role of Heater Webber.FV found the best recast he could find. Give Alley Mills a chance.
I was put off by the way the actress used her voice. Her smile was spot on.
Loved Hailey Mills in the movie PARENT TRAP and it’s sequel. Just can’t picture her playing this kind of role after seeing her in kid movies ❤️
This is Alley Mills not Hayley Mills…
Hailey Mills is a different actress. Reread the article. The actress playing Heather is Alley Mills. No relation to the Parent Trap actress.
Just not Robin. Wish she was back.
I think she did an amazing job capturing the “spirit” of Heather.
Except for that ridiculous attempt at a “New Yawk” accent, which Heather never had!
Glad GH snagged her. B&B needs new writers. I hope HW is Esme’s Mom & that the serial killer is Trina’s new bf in disguise.
Why wasn’t she carrying a plate of Lemon Bars?
I love robin mattson as heather webber on GH it’s too bad she could not return she played that role perfectly.
Wow, that was at par with Mattison. Esme baby daddy is Spencer.. she did say..”lets go meet your grand-pa referring to Nicholas’. Making Heather the hook killer is too simple…Its the ADA
She wasn’t referring to Nikolas as “grandpa”. She was talking about Ryan, as she was intending to visit him in prison before Nikolas locked her up in the tower.
That God that wonderful actress left that dog of a show Bold and Beautiful. As usual they underuse the best actors and actresses for revolving all storyline around KKL, aka, Brooke!
General Hospital is the one of the best soap’s left on the air along with Y & R and Days of Our Lives
I don’t like the recast and I heard that Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos) is leaving and will be recast as well. Too many changes and bad/over acting. Trina was a recast, Nicholas was a recast…. Dr. Finn was on the show as 3 different people and Dr. Austin has been on the show as 3 different people…. Too many changes!!
Agreed on the multiple characters played by Michael Easton and Roger Howarth. Finn is barely palatable and Austin has been a total dud.
Chad had some health issues (why we had an off/on recast for a few months) but he’s not leaving – despite how boring he and Willow are.
The original Trina chose to concentrate on her studies, so a recast was needed for a character in a front burner storyline.
Nikolas’ original portrayer had personal issues to work through. Still not feeling Marcus Coloma, but the character is needed on the canvas.
Why didn’t Robin Mattson come back as Heather?
Keith K
I know it may be hard for some people to comprehend, but sometimes stuff happens that prevent people from doing things we would like them to do, as in this case of Robin Mattson returning to the role of Heather, illness being one or any number of reasons we know nothing about. I think Alley will do a good job playing Heather, if today’s show was any indication.
Another stoopid move by GH writers. Who needs another hard core fried up hag? Heather’s fan appeal was undeniable even back to janet from another planet. GH never gets it right except reviving Emma Sams. That was probably dumb luck.
I like alley a lot but why didnt they bring Robin back I love robin
Who is the hunky security guard in the brown shirt! Yum!
Yes, Contessa, he’s hot and so is the guy in blue…sweet face, great hair. Too bad we can’t have them onscreen daily instead of Drippy Drew and Dense Dante. We need someone besides Chase and Nikolas to feed our eye candy appetites!
Look, I loved Robin Mattson’s portrayal of Heather over the years BUT, this lady Alley Mills, her and Finn’s scenes were the best of the year! Finn is a stiff board. The way the new Heather berated him and Elizabeth was freakin awesome! Michael and Alley, hats off!
Did I inject some LSD? I was watching the latest episode oF GH and Jeff Webber was on, so was Heather Webber and Anna was being set up for murder of Lucy by victor Cassadine. Robert was reunited with Holly Sutton, Scotts gonna represent Anna, Laura save Valentine. Felicia was being supportive of Mac, it’s like its the 80’s. Wow thanks GH. Did I forget anyone?
Alley doing great job
I’ve only ever seen Heather Weber played by Robin. She’s perfect for the role, why the recast? Mills doesn’t seem to have that crazy persona necessary to pull off being Heather Webber. I’m sure she’s a great actress but in my honest opinion she’s been cast in the wrong role. Robin leaves some big shoes to fill, and I personally loved her is Heather.
Robin Mattson is the only Heather Webber, where is she?
She is an excellent actress. The think she is better than Robin Mattsen

‘General Hospital’ Ethan Lovett Recast: Christian Howard Replaces Nathan Dean

General Hospital fans knew something was up when in the closing credits of the July 24 episode of the ABC soap opera, Nathan Dean’s name was removed. Fast-forward to the Monday, July 27 episode and Christian Howard has replaced Dean as the recast Ethan Lovett.
When Howard made his first on-screen appearance, the soap opera made no bones about the fact that this was not a temporary fill-in when in a voice-over announce they shared ‘The role of Ethan Lovett is now being played by Christian Howard.”
This marks a quick ending to Dean’s return to GH after six-years away as Luke (Anthony Geary) and Holly’s (Emma Samms) wayward son. In the spring, Nathan shared to TV Insider, that he settled on a short term four-month run in the part for 2026. Nathan debuted in the role of Ethan Lovett back in 2009 and played the part until his exit in 2012. He then made brief comebacks in 2013, 2015 and 2020.

WHERE DOES ETHAN LOVETT’S STORY GO FROM HERE?
Dean’s recent GH comeback began on the April 17, 2026 episode, where viewers eventually learned that Ethan had a connection to the mysterious Delilah Wilson (Lily Cardone), who died giving birth to a daughter.
That said daughter, wound up as Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) foster child who they are hoping to adopt. Initially, Ethan claimed to be the baby’s father, but later changed his tune when trapped with Ava Jerome (Maura West) after being shot. He admitted he is not baby Phoebe’s father.
On today’s July 27 episode, Christian Howard’s first scenes were at the Metro Court Pool with Maura West. In the scenes, Ethan continues to flirt and fight with Ava. His goal was to make sure she never told Brook Lynn and Chase, he is not Phoebe’s bio-dad so that their adoption can go off without a hitch.
This is not the first time, Dean has been recast as Ethan. Back in 2023, Ethan suddenly had blonde hair as played by James Ryan for a couple of episodes.
As for Howard, he has a very large background as an action-adventure actor and stuntman, Christian was born in the United Kingdom, and can be seen in episodes of Street Fighter: Resurrection, and Lucifer, among others.
It should be noted there is no word yet if Christian Howard is just finishing up scenes of Ethan Lovett, but will also exit shortly, or if his casting is for any substantial length of time.
So, what do you think about the sudden replacement of Nathan Dean as Ethan Lovett? If you caught GH today, how did Christian Howard do as his successor in the part? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section below.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Reveals His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy-Nominated Reel Did Not Contain Monica’s Funeral

It’s always tricky deciding what scenes to represent your performances to include on your Daytime Emmy Reel. In the case of two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Steve Burton (Jason Morgan, General Hospital), he knows a thing or two, or three, of what gives an actor the best shot at taking home the gold.
This year, Steve became one of the five nominees for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category for the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards when his name was announced two weeks ago on Extra.
GH viewers know 2025 was a banner year for Burton who delivered very emotional and powerful scenes, which often revolved around the death of Jason’s mother who raised him, Monica Quartermaine (Susan Moore was his bio-mom) in tribute to her portrayer, the late Leslie Charleson.

Photo: ABC
Some of Steve’s most highly-regarded work came when Jason has to give a eulogy and share his remembrances of Monica at her funeral in front of the Quartermaine family and Monica’s friends and loved ones. It was a particularly emotional day for the cast and crew, where reality and acting blurred the lines.
On the latest episode of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli, GH), the duo welcomed to the show, a very special guest, Giovanni Mazza (Gio, GH), who himself landed a nomination for the first time in his career in the Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series category.
As the three men discussed pouring their hearts and souls into their work and scenes, Giovanni Mazza, said to Burton, “What you did, particularly with Monica’s funeral, I know that whatever prep you did and with everything that you put into it, I know that it was a culmination of everything that you have ever done and experienced, and you put it into your work and everyone saw it.”

STEVE BURTON SHOCKS GIOVANNI MAZZA
Suddenly, Steve had to correct Giovanni, with what might be to some, startling news. However, when you think about it, as Burton explains it made sense. Steve responds to Mazza, “I appreciate that. But what’s crazy was that wasn’t in my reel.”
Burton continued, “I’ve been on the show for so long. I’ve been through so many storylines and there’s times where you do scenes where you’re going, ‘This is good’ And then, when you’re getting feedback from your coworkers and the crew going, ‘Hey, man, that was really incredible,’ you go, “Yeah, that’s probably pretty good. I’m going to take a look at it for my Emmy reel.’ So, that’s all I was focused on for my Emmy reel. I go, “Man, this is so good. I can’t wait to see it. This is it.’ No. It was one of those things where there was a million cutaways.”
“There were no true closeups, really, because they had to include everybody in the scene, which is totally fine,” explained the two-time Emmy winner. “But that was an interesting process for me, because I thought that was it. I thought that was going to be the anchor to the scenes that I submitted, and it wasn’t.”
DID STEVE BURTON USE ANY OF THE SCENES FOR HIS EMMY REEL SURROUNDING MONICA’S DEATH?
As to what scenes were on Burton’s reel, all he would say is, “I had to find other material, which is great. It made me really go through the process. It’s just one of those things. I did use some of that stuff from Monica’s death, for sure.”
However, speaking of the experience to say goodbye collectively to Monica and Leslie Charleson during the funeral shows was something he will never forget. Steve explained, “(The funeral scenes) were definitely a culmination of my experience there, my time with Leslie Charleson, my relationship with Leslie, my relationship with people who were in the scenes with me. The feeling of the crew mourning her also. It was emotionally a lot. I was grateful for that opportunity. It was amazing (to be able to do).”
Watch the full conversation with Steve, Bradford and Giovanni below.
Now, weigh-in: were you shocked that Steve Burton did not include Monica’s funeral? While he has not revealed all of the scenes on his reel, Steve has to be one of the frontrunners, given the other material he did get to play surrounding losing Monica. Let us know your thoughts via the comment section.
