Over the weekend, the country has been trying to get straight answers as to the true medical condition and the chronology of events that transpired that led to President Donald Trump to be taken from the White House to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for treatment after coming down with COVID-19.

On Saturday, President Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Conley, addressed the media for an update on Trump’s condition.   Conley has been called out for his avoidance to answer questions properly and for his lack of transparency in being truthful to the American people of how the president is doing.

Then on Sunday, Conley addressed the media again after getting much heat for his non-remarks on Saturday, with a follow-up press conference noting he had tried to conceal the fact that the president had received oxygen at the White House on Friday.

General Hospital alum, and film and TV actress, writer and director, Amber Tamblyn (Ex-Emily Quartermaine from 1995-2001), took to Twitter after the video of Saturday’s press conference featuring Conley was posted by Maya Contreras which noted:  “That was a very disturbing press conference. It completely lacked transparency. Trump’s personal doctor, Dr. Sean Conley, ducked and avoided questions, spoke in generalities, and mostly obfuscated his answers about Trump’s condition. Very “Dear Leader” presser. #SuperSpreader”

Photo: ABC

Tamblyn shared: “And the Daytime Emmy for Best Actor in a Soap Opera does not go to this guy for his portrayal of a doctor telling the truth. Signed, A former long time cast member of General Hospital who knows bad acting when she sees it”

Amber then qualified what she meant so there was no misinterpretation: “I should specify that I can spot bad doctor acting because I had the great honor of working with the best of the best soap actors while on General Hospital. Don’t even dare @ me with another soap name lest you wanna fight.”

Longtime General Hospital fans remember Ambir fondly in her scenes with: Jonathan Jackson (Ex-Lucky), Rebecca Herbst (Liz) and Tyler Christopher (Ex-Nikolas) to name a few.

You can check out Conley’s remarks below from Saturday.

So , do you agree with Amber about Conley’s bad acting when she knows, and we know, great acting by the the cast of GH and those who plays doctors on the soap? Comment below.

I called it the #TrumpHoax as soon as it was announced! Btw, who sits in their suit at the hospital?! Pleeease!!

Thank you, Amber Tamblyn!

It’s sad and demoralizing to think that even a physician who works for the current president feels compelled to spin, be evasive, and lie, but he follows in the horrific footsteps of fellow Kool-Aid drinker Ronny Jackson. The ones who tell the truth (Anthony Fauci, Deborah Birx, Robert Redfield) are relegated to backburner status at the White House, while the other sycophantic physicians, including herd immunity-promoter and spinmeister-extraordinaire, Scott Atlas, take center stage.

And I suppose the “esteemed” Dr. Conley had to approve the president’s joy ride to wave to his supporters outside Walter Reed Medical Center. A feel-good moment for the president who, even while afflicted with this virus, continues to jeopardize lives, today being the Secret Service men who drove/rode with him for this self-indulgent jaunt.

The current president’s terrible management of, avoidance of, and denial of the pandemic has resulted in (at this writing) 209,000+ deaths in the United States. He has singlehandedly jeopardized the lives of White House staff, Secret Service personnel, rally-goers, attendees to his recent White House celebration to present his Supreme Court nominee, attendees to the White House celebration on the last night of the Republican convention, and others.

And he has the gall to repeatedly mock the wearing of masks, even as late as the recent presidential debate.

Again, I appreciate the efforts of Amber Tamblyn. Actors and actresses are citizens like the rest of us. We should all rise up, call out the hypocrisy, speak truth to power, vote out this reckless wannabe dictator, and put an end to this long national nightmare. It would be better for the health and welfare of the citizens and the country as a whole.

Yeah, the way this whole thing is being handled in the press is giving me 1980s Soviet Union flashbacks. All those guys between Brezhnev & Gorby, all between 70 – 80 years of age whose terms in office were months rather than years, and who issued a lot of nebulous press released after suddenly disappearing from public view.

His Orangeness went from “asymptomatic” to “mild symptoms” to “moderate symptoms” to “on oxygen and throwing Hail Mary passes at him with experimental treatments” all within about 36 hours. That’s really not a good sign that all is going well with his treatment.

And believe me, a Devil takes no joy in any of this. I don’t want Cheeto down here one 666th of a second earlier than he absolutely has to be!

Hi Satan-
the Doctors take orders from trump-
they will say what WH wants out there..
And the poor doctor is a terrible liar ..
and Trump is trying way too hard to portray
himself (acting) as he is OK/doing well.
He is not doing well, nope.
hey! did you see his Walter Reed picture without his spray-on tan junk..
He’s albino looking, even eyebrows.. frightening LOL!!

That would be,unethical, would it not, SusieQ? You have heard of the Hippocratic Oath? —especially for military doctors. No such doctor would jeopardize his/her profession. And, no being has that much power over another unless you live in China, N Korea and/or any Socialist/Communist country. They are not our pals. It’s all out there—and, I don’t mean Google—-try the library. I know of which I speak. More importantly read and examine the Democratic Party from its American roots. Quelle surprise!! A democrat killed Lincoln for freeing the slaves.—-Dems fought tooth and nail against Civil Rights—and, it tacitly still goes on—-it’s there between the lines, if you care to search!! —–therefore, unless someone is prepared with all the facts on the table, and be able to defend one’s argument, then said someonebshould not assume or comment on subjects that are beyond his/her ken.
What you are inferring is criminal. And, su? Trump is an older gentleman—if you knew him, you would not consider him frightening. We all lose our looks as we age. As a young man, Trump was a hot hunk everywhichway. Do his looks really matter?
Let us hope The President, The First Lady and anyone afflicted with this feral virus ( which I consider an act of terrorism) recover sooner than soon. God bless America—-home of the FREE!!

While you’re ranting about “socialism”… here’s something to consider.

Walter Reed Hospital, a military facility, is a government owned hospital, where every doctor, nurse, and other employee works for the government.

It is, in fact, SOCIALIZED MEDICINE. As opposed to private insurance companies helping you pay for care at corporate owned hospitals, which is what most mortals in the US have to deal with. “Obamacare” (which in reality was created by the right wing Heritage Foundation in the early 70s and first implemented by republican governor Willard Mittens Romney in Massachusetts) was a slight tweak to that system. Medicare For All – as proposed by Bernie Sanders – would take the corporate insurance companies out of the equation, but would not change anything about the doctors or hospitals. Most of the other nations on your side of the Earth’s crust use a model similar to this one, with the exception of the UK, whose entire system is government owned and operated.

Boris Johnson, the right wing UK prime minister, used to be opposed to their national health system. Then he got COVID and it saved his life, and now he openly credits them for doing so. If Trump recovers, maybe we could hope for him to have a similar reality check… but that’s expecting too much from him.

Satan, Satan, Satan—-you know I do not rant—-not my style–not an attractive trait…
Let’s all take a good look at socialism. I did not spend five years of graduate school ( concentrating on PoliSci) without learning something.
Therefore, if you are extolling the benefits of an Orwellian society, I beg off. ❤️

Satan–you’re so very cool.

Eh? I’m with Su000!

Why do we care what she thinks?

Exactly! She is an actress that has no medical knowledge and clearly has an opinion about something she knows nothing about. I am a healthcare provider and her thoughts are just that, thoughts. I have no respect for the non-medical persons who present as though they know anything about medicine. It is disappointing how people behave in the name of a political stance.

Well, she’s referring to his acting skills, which is certainly her area of expertise. And there have been plenty of medical professionals (with impeccable credentials) who have expressed the same concerns about the treatment regimen, the mixed messaging, the apparent lack of transparency, so it’s not as though she’s going out on a limb in regard to that part of what she says, either.

I’m neither an actor nor a medical professional, but I am very comfortable saying I feel I’ve been deceived (medically speaking) and that it hasn’t been done all that convincingly (in regard to acting skills). I don’t feel my lack of medical training or my lack of acting training makes me unqualified to offer an opinion on those two things. It’s not as though I’m saying I know better than the doctors what they ought to be doing, after all, or suggesting a different course of treatment–both of which would indeed be out of line. I’m simply pointing out that it doesn’t take an MD to know when you’re not being given the whole truth and to point that out.

Amen!

Dr. Sean Conley is not a ”bad” doctor-
He is a Naval doctor.
Walter Reed is a Naval hospital.
The doctors are military.
trump is their Commander and Chief.
If trumps orders to say this or that that is what they will say
what their Commander and Chief tell/orders them to say.

SuOOO
You are so right, which many of us forget. I think they have to take their orders and shut up. It’s probably very hard for those doctors to just take their orders and speak only when asked for their input.

Most especially, Violet, if they lack a backbone.

So right, Su000!

Has she worked since GH?

A simple check of IMDb would show her full credits. She’s appeared in numerous feature films and series. Emmy and Golden Globe nominated for lead actress in Joan of Arcadia.

Plenty of work.

She’s actually an acclaimed poet and writer.

Yes, she is–I’ve read one of her books and heard her read her poetry.

Long time no see, DMRR–Good question. Burisma?

Amen, Mark Y…

This was a sweet girl and a good actress. She married that goof ball comedian and he brain washed her!

Facts: NFL NBA Hollywood ratings have tanked we all want to be left alone live our lives love our families just get thru life for four years every bloody day non stop bashing of the president !! Enough before the virus a great economy I know I have a small business just leave us alone stop
The endless bashing gosh find a hobby ! People are dying every day Cancer alzheimers heart disease on and on and now we have out of work actors tweeting bullshit because they need to be noticed. It’s a virus nobody wanted this to happen and the frustrating thing is no one has a true answer every day it’s a new story so take precautions use common sense and stop blaming everybody !

Kay, I’ve said for years, these actors, sport stars and comedians, SHUT UP, entertain us, here is our money for a ticket to your event, quit telling us how to live, vote and question our loyalty to this great country!

That argument has gone out the window when a reality TV show host was elected “president”.

In a “free” country, everyone can speak her mind. 🙂

I don’t blame anybody for the virus itself (subject to revision if we find out otherwise; I’m not big into conspiracy theories, but if somebody can find some solid evidence to back up the notion that this virus was deliberately released, we can talk about it). I do blame people for (1) giving me incomplete, misleading, or just plain bad information, (2) not following the simple precautions that have been recommended to try to stop it (such as wearing a mask), and (3) mismanaging the pandemic by ignoring the medical expertise (imperfect though it may be, given that the medical community learns something new all the time). I feel no compunction whatsoever about pointing any of that out when it happens, and I don’t think that’s “blaming everybody” or “bashing.”

Timm my mom met my dad years ago in a cotton patch ! Yep that’s right and yes we are white this was America in the old days I was raised in a large family that we never thought we were to good to get our hands dirty or work hard she ended up my mother having her own business that was very successful and she had only a high school education it’s possible I just wish generations would realize we all can do whatever we want if you have a dream and a will you can make anything possible don’t ever sell America short we can do it all of us no matter what color your skin is you can do it . I don’t want the government telling me I can’t . So until you stop Hollywood Washington etc from spreading hate and calling people losers because they have a opinion that’s different the n yours yes I say we are indeed lost .

Very true, Kay—-the bashing is endless—-big difference between having a voice with facts and simply spewing. Give well-founded opinions—-no one on the other side seems to take the time to see what this president did for this country. For one: Isis is dead. What an accomplishment!! Two—manufacturing is no longer controlled by China—-what he did is endless. With a Harris/Biden administration, we can kiss our money, possessions and freedom goodbye. Medicare will languish because our taxes will be so high to distribute among illegals, who, may I add have already caused so many citizens to lose their jobs to accomidate them. Biden speaks from bith sides if his mouth. First he says he will be the most progressive president ever—now, he changed his tune and calls himself moderate. Which is it? Also, there are those who do not understand that a Democracy represents a government and not a party. This is a Republic with a Democracy-based government—-no matter what one calls himself/herself. It’s a matter of education—we either understand the idiosyncrasies and intricacies of this government, or we don’t.
Trump put a travel ban in place and was called a racist and a xenophobe—-imagine how many more lives we would have lost if he had not done that—-now, Trump is criticized for not having moved fast enough while the Dems were too busy impeaching him instead of doing their part. He followed orotocol—Fauci himself was taken aback by this new strand if Covid—-the more we kearned the more the president tried—What did Pelosi do? On Feb 25th ( in the midst of the pandemic) she told the people of San Fran to come down to China Town and mingle—have fun. Then, there’s Cuomo and The Nursing Homes, while the ship Trump had sent just sat there.
There is a whole list of Trump’s accomplishments —-let’s compare those to previous administrations—-I will be that bold as to say : no other president other than Lincoln can compare.

I agree…no one even asks why Immigrants flee the countries that they now want to turn ours into and come here for our Freedoms\they want to take away…a lot you said i posted myself…plus they go on about him leaving the hospital and bein driven around with two in the front forget that he also had to be driven that way to the hospital-smh!!!….

Hi, Jimmy—I did answer you the other day, but my comment did not print. You are right, my friend—-I have never heard or seen such maltreatment and childish chatter in all my life—-to think that the biggest headline today, was the fly on Pence’s head—as hilarious as it is, someone said it symbolized sin—that Satan was living within the VP. This person was serious. How low can anyone go? With all the chaos and diseases and deaths and hunger going on in this country and globally, this idiocy makes the news??
Freedom has lost its meaning, Jimmy. This is America, I think? A new definition will soon appear in dictionaries.
Stay safe❤️

Just for the record….

I am not now, nor have I ever been living within Mike Pence!

LOL—You crack me up!! Good to know, Satan. Whose body have you invaded? LOL.
I must admit that fly drove me to hysterics. It wouldn’t move. Just sat there. Very distracting. I thought maybe Pence had sprayed his hair and the fly was stuck? HaHa..
It is a moment which will stick in perpetual time…pardon the play-on-words.
I am glad to know you did not send that fly—Pence is a good guy!!

Hi Calia 🙂
ISIS is not going to disappear. It will morph into something else, just as Osama bin Laden’s Arab mujahideen morphed into al Qaeda, which gave birth to al Qaeda in Iraq, which transformed into ISIS.
And until the dictator’s template is smashed, new Abu Bakr al-Baghdadis will emerge.
Others will come forward to claim his mantle of leadership and perhaps learn from his demise.
Evile lives on, and on and on.
ISIS can evolve into something eviler than what was.
Give them a few years..
I personally hate those F***ers!
I looked 3 in the eyes.

Celia, “Making this site great Again!” With less than a month left, I tell people on the fence this, if you dont like DJT, look at the election as if you are picking a VICE President. Kamala will open the borders, defund the police, raise taxes through the roof, keep Obama care which was a bust, defund fracking and will get revenge on the Republicans for the appointment of Amy Coney Barrett! Kamala was weak, nervous and constantly reading notes at the VP debate. Mike Pence was “Cool Hand Luke”, honored to be Mr. Trump’s VP and 100 percent on board, helping the President rid Covid and reboot the greatest economy ever before the Kung Flu hit!

Since when is racist language permitted on this site? Regardless of what you call it, the point is the current holder of the office and his VP – head of the coronavirus task force have blatantly failed the American people.

And no, we are picking a president. The VP doesn’t set policy, BTW, none of the “predictions” you make about Harris are accurate.

Steve, normally I wouldnt waste my time answering a silly accusation. Dont use an experience that you have no right to play. Racism is a serious problem in the United States. If people like you conveniently use this term for every damn comment that hurts your feelings, it gets diluted. Is Kung Fu offend you? Do we have to say martial arts instead? Will that coddle your feelings? Kung Flu is a slang word that is in reference to the China Virus. It came from China and it has turned the whole world upside down! Be thankful to be alive. Be thankful that you can watch soaps and be on this site. Be thankful to your fellow citizens. Steve, be thankful.

Go, Steve!

Hey, T—-As I said to Jimh, I did answer you—-but, I was censured. I am with you all the way–don’t want to cause anyone apoplexy but—TRUMP2020—- .Giddy-up–

For the life of me, I cannot remotely fathom why Trump’s followers still worship him. He’s been an unmitigated disaster. I knew he’d be bad but the depths of my dark imagination was unable to grasp just how horrific he’d be. I could go on and on but there’s no reading with Trump cultists. Suffice to say, his contracting COVID despite being in the company of top infectious disease experts, is an example of his abject failure as a leader. His not taking care of himself is a microcosm for his inability to take care of the country. Four more years? Our country cannot handle four more of this disastrous presidency. Get him out!

Preach Harry!! GO Harry!! Bravo!

Oh. My. God.

Celia, I guess you drank the Trump Kool-Aid? UH-oh!

Nancy, its better than Harris’s hocus pocus socialistic steamed latte’s! She is worse than Bernie Sanders!

❤️

Yup. Love it. Going back for more—

As did I, CeeCeeGirl…and will again in 2024, if necessary!!! Just wanted to say hello, and wish my fellow December “Calendar Girl” a Happy Birthday!!! (Kool aid toast!) I know it’s been too long, but I’ve stayed very busy over the last few months, and quite candidly, avoided this website out of pure disgust with the nature of too many posts, as especially evidenced on this particular thread. I did finally say my heartfelt piece down the page to a few of our mutual detractors, and I hope it makes it online, as I’ve held my tongue for too long, yet chose to wait until I had considered my thoughts. Obviously, there is much I would love to discuss with you, although I’m sure given our history, you can already divine much of what I would share!!! At any rate, best wishes to you and yours for a healthy and blessed holiday season! Stay safe, mia amica! Later….

I am watching and waiting for Trump to leave the hospital He simply can’t wait to get out of there to infect more people, starting with the agents and others on the helicopter.
This man has no consideration of other lives. Now , he claims to know this desease that has already killed so many people, and we aren’t supposed to fear it just because he says so. I hope the sheep who have been following this idiot will finally get a clue as to the lengths he will go to to win the election.

Violet…Agree!

Well it didn’t start with the agents on the helicopter…. before that there was the limo joy ride around Walter Reed. That limo is hermetically sealed which means the agents inside had no choice but to breathe in the virus leaving Cheeto’s body. That’s a fairly high concentration in a small space even if both parties are wearing masks.

Before that, of course, you had the New Jersey campaign event that Cheeto went to before revealing he was positive for the virus, yet after he KNEW he had been exposed. And it’s not clear whether or not he knew he had the disease before appearing at that horrible excuse for a “debate” on Tuesday evilning. (Joe Biden & Chris Wallace have both tested clean, so far. Along with others present at that debate. Hopefully that will remain the case)

It’s all another manifestation of his sociopathy & malignant narcissism taking precedent over all else, even the lives of other mortals.

YEs, Satan!

Agree also, Violet!

Celebs and hate-driven, uninformed know-it-alls should keep their comments to themselves. What a concept, eh?
Perhaps The Obama Administration should not have opened the door so wide to allow China to cross an ocean. Billions were regaled to this evil communist country. Let us keep that in mind. Take a trip down memory, History lane……
Thank you, China, for purposely infecting the world with your lethal experiments. I pity the doctors, who many suspect, you have eliminated for telling the truth .
We need to stop speculating and pray for our wellbeing. Isn’t that what matters most?……if only….sigh!!
Pardon me for having a voice. It is still a democracy. May socialism rot in hell.

But Celia, you are contradicting yourself. It is still a democracy and you get to have a voice? Well, so does Amber Tamblyn. You want to call out people who are uninformed, but then say that China purposefully infected the world, something that hasn’t been proven or even supported by credible sources. If you truly believe in a democracy, everyone is going to have the right to express their thoughts whether you agree or not. And that includes celebrities, know-it-alls and, yes, sadly the uniformed too. It’s part of the price (and one of the conundrums) of freedom.

Sonniorsolita…You made very good points in a nice, respectful way. It’s very much appreciated.

What I said, EVERYONE get to voice her opinion.

You criticize “uninformed know-it-alls”, yet you reply? That about says it all.

Everyone has a right to his/her opinion and social media is an outlet for that.

What does it say? To be called a sheep because I am a Trump supporter? To hear uneducated falsehoods from people and I have to keep it to myself? Those are not opinions. Those are insults.—-reminds me of being called deplorable. Are you one of those, ” do as I say and not as I do?”—
Tell me again, sir—-what does it say? What is all? Keep in mind I am not a republican, but an Independent/Libertarian with a brain!!
Then again, not worth it!! Ciao, baby.

“Pardon me for having a voice”? No need to ask for a pardon. You have the right to free speech just like anyone else But you say you want celebrities to stifle themselves. If I follow your reasoning you are saying that actors should not be afforded first amendment rights enjoyed by private citizens such as you snd me. Do you understand how erroneous your line of logic is?

Harry…I remember you have an ear for interesting music so I thought I would follow up with a comment about another “celebrity” that really got to me. I heard “Ohio” by Neil Young the other day on my radio. It brought me to tears, a few short verses that described what had happened in my state of Ohio during a peaceful protest. I thought reason would prevail and things like that could or would never happen again. This may be 2020. But too much has happened in the last four years…innocent people killed, Michigan’s governor threatened, armed guys with weapons hanging around to intimidate, etc…remind me of where an incident like what happened in Ohio has gone with no positive leadership or will to shut them down. And seem instead to give them oxygen. Keep well.

Rose, I love Neil Young. And yes, the theme of his “Ohio” has come full circle and resonates even more. I Hope you and your family are well. 2020 has been one hell of a bad year. I’m so ready to say goodbye to it, and a certain orange autocratic, whose name I shall not say!

#Compatriots Over Comrades

#Choose Freedom Over Freebies

For all those who think that celebrities should shut up: As I said earlier, celebrities are citizens, too, with a right to speak, just as we all have the right to speak up on these message boards. Being a celebrity, Democratic, Republican, Independent, does not negate that citizenship and the rights thereto appertaining.

Further, at least one poster tried to bring up alleged mistakes made by President Obama. Whataboutism is a signal that one is losing the argument, particularly when such argument has no merit on its own. Policy differences are plentiful at all times, and that will always be so.

A poster noted: “It is still a democracy.” The current president is taking steps everyday to destroy that democracy. When a disastrous response to COVID-19 is compounded by the superspreader-in-chief and that White House itself becomes a hotspot, with stylings of a dictator on full display, the failure is clear, that is, for anyone willing to open his or her eyes…

Well, James. I still have not gotten over the tan suit! A crime against nature, I tell ya!

That’s a good one, Harry! Great to read your recent commentary within this minefield of a thread. To add to what you’ve stated, I would think that even the supporters of the current president would be tired of the constant chaos, to say nothing of all the lies, corruption, bullying, embarrassments, divisiveness, ineptitude, 215,000 COVID-19-related deaths, rampant unemployment, a tanking economy…. It just cannot go on!

Irony about the whole “tan suit” thing…..

Showtime recently just aired a four part docu-series about The Reagans. Turns out old Ronnie (who the current right wingers consider some kind of Messiah) actually wore tan suits quite often. I’d say in the archival footage shown in this series, he’s wearing tan suits as often as he is a darker color.

Guess the Republicans forgot about that, just like they did about Ronnie’s ACTUAL record as President.

I don’t depend on the media or anyone else in forming my opinion of the current person in the White House. Since he loves the camera and his own voice so much there have been plenty of his own words, deeds and actions (and non-actions) to fill in the blanks since The Apprentice, the first campaign (which hasn’t seemed to stop), up to the last few days where you think he can’t outdo himself…until he does the next day, in plain sight for everyone to see if they just look. And this does not include his own twitters which I don’t read.

As I watched the V.P debate, all I could think of was poor Pense. what vile and disgusting words would he hear from “the great one” on his performance. First the “monster and communist” took him down with only a look when he wouldn’t shut up and darn it, I didn’t see the fly land on his snow white hair, like a miniature helicopter. I do give him credit though, he did not insult or bully as his egotistical, maniac of a boss.
I think Pence has a little more class and polish than that.
I can’t believe I have lived this long , which could very well be my last election, to possibly see our country be put in the hands, yet again of this lunitic! A man so unfit to run our country , a country my grt.grandchildren are growing up in . I pray every night that we are strong enough, at least those of us who have refused to drink the cool-ade, will be able to hold on to what’s left after those who think they are informed have helped him destroy US. I may not have a college education but I do know the difference between right and wrong, good and evil and we are being tested now as never before. Hopefully we are cramming for the next big one in only a few weeks. Good luck to us all, having the right answers and with God’s help we will pass with flying colors!

Great post, Violet. I hope you’re doing well. Hey. We have to give Trump and Pence credit for bringing back the literary classics. Trump is The Great Gaspy and Pence is The Lord of the Flies!

Harry
Thanks. I’ve missed your comments and posts. I read a book a long time ago by Sinclair Lewis, It Can’t Happen Here. Ha. Ha,Ha,Ha!

Love those literary allusions, Harry! And so spot-on!

Bravo, Violet, Bravo!

Let’s hope for happier days ahead! And cheers to many more of them!

Violet…I have been meaning to respond to one of your comments. You don’t need a college education or lists of all the courses you’ve taken to be informed or have an understanding of whats happening in our world. You show this with your comments, combined with your common sense and the difference between right and wrong. Look forward to hearing from you in future elections.

Another opportunity to bash Trump. This is not a political forum and I could care less about celebrity opinions!

It’s couldn’t care less, not care less. And every American citizen is entitled to free speech.

Harry and all others…and have all American citizen’s legal ballots count without some of the interference (a nicer word than cheating) we are now seeing some states and the feds trying to do.

Harry and All…Not just entitled to free speech but to have all of their ballots counted without all the shenanigans we have seen at the local, state, fed, and court levels to stop some votes.

Not to worry, clb—-“Couldn’t care less” has been grammatically incorrect for decades now. Why? —because the expression denotes a double negative, which is a grammatical no-no. Every Educator knows that!! Nonetheless, due to the fact that “could care less” is constantly misused, both expressions are now acceptable, albeit I always use the original form, “could care less”—-you and I must have attended the same institution for higher efucation.
The same applies to subject/verb/pronoun agreement. Since everyone makes that grammar mistake, it has become acceptable for the verb or pronoun not to agree with the subject. Sad.

English lesson, now? Instead of “history” and “political science”?

Yes, madame—I have what one would call—oh, gee, je ne sais quoi—let’s see–Academia Whizdom.
I do not put a bunch of words together and call it poetry.
Ciao.

“It ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings!” How’s that for putting a bunch of words together and calling it “the gospel”? Bye, Y,ALL!

And the fat lady just sang!

I thought it was physics??? Ugh!

Awwww, Sunny? What an uplifting name—-I don’t recall ever seeing you here? Perhaps I missed you. However, I so appreciate your following. What a memory!! Kudos. I can barely remember what was said yesterday—-at only 33.
Yes, my major was Physics—- it’s a science . A subject which covers a lot of ground: physical, astral, political, social etcetera.
However, there are majors and minors. I assume you know what a PhD entails?
Many people choose to hone a field or more in graduate school.
Also, those who choose Education as their future “job”, they need to be, generally, well informed/educated in just about every field of study. No Ugh about it.
I hope I have explained myself to your ken??
Again, thank you for remembering my major.
Bye.

Oops-education.

Hello, Ladies 🙂

Go, Amber!

First, I want to thank Michael for giving us space to rant our likes and dislikes about what is happening in our country. Too bad it has pushed so many of us apart here as well as it has in our own lives, tearing some families and friends apart just as it has our country the past four years. Of course that was done with a purpose. I have never in all my days seen the U.S torn apart like it is now, while pleasuring one person so much seeing it happen. He couldn’t even take his defeat with decency and integrity. I don’t know what I would have done years ago without Obamacare. He and his wealthy co-horts think that only those with money should have medical care while the rest of us can just literally drop dead! God forbid that our country and state should give those in need a helping hand. I have a couple of family members that think Trump has saved our country, and helped them keep their money, businesses, etc, They may never agree or come to believe what they’ve really lost in order to prosper, while the rest of us hang our heads in shame.

‘General Hospital’s’ Amanda Setton Talks Her Reaction, Scenes, and Co-Stars After Becoming a Daytime Emmy Nominee for the First Time (Exclusive)

When the nominations were announced for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards earlier this week, General Hospital fans were thrilled to see Amanda Setton’s name as one of this year’s Outstanding Supporting Actress nominees.

It marks the first time in her career that she has ever been nominated. Setton has played Brook Lynn Quartermaine since 2019. Soap viewers first saw her in the role of Kimberly Andrews on One Life to Live during her run from 2009-2011.

Amanda received her Daytime Emmy nomination for her emotional turn as Brook Lynn learned she had been lied to by her mother, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) for years, after giving up her baby for adoption as a teen. Little did she know she had a secret son living with her this whole time at the Quartermaine mansion in Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza).

During an exclusive conversation live on Tuesday night, July 14, during the Michael Fairman Channel’s annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Special, she discussed her reaction to the news, her nominated reel and her GH co-stars.

GOING FOR EMMY GOLD

Setton explained how she found out she was a Emmy nominee! “Frank Valentini called me, our boss. It was such a beautiful moving moment. I’ve known Frank for 20 years and to share this with him, I’m indebted to him on a lot of levels. I was in the car with my husband. We were going for a hike. We got away for just a couple days, just the two of us. It was early in the morning and to share that moment with Frank, to share that moment with my husband, it was the best. We cried and I’m just so grateful.”

The Supporting Actress nominee shared what scenes she submitted: “My reel was obviously about the Gio storyline. It started with the scenes with Lulu (Alexa Havins) and shout out to Alexa! She’s the best. It’s when I first find out that she knows and that I had boy. Then, begging her not to tell Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and just to leave it alone, then into the scenes with Rena Sofer, shout out to her! She is the best. I love her. I spoke to her today. She deserved to also be nominated. They are the scenes right after I find out at the Nurses’ Ball, and right after Brooklyn finds out that Gio is her son, not her cousin. Then my reel ended with the scene with Gio in the kitchen when Brook Lynn’s first sees him after the Nurses’ Ball and she says, ‘We can work this out,’ and he’s like, ‘No, we can’t,” and he walks away. It was an amazing story and kudos to the writers.”

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SCENES

It is always important in the Emmy game to put together a submission, so that someone who doesn’t watch the show day to day, can grasp the story of what’s happening to your character. Setton explained how she went about assembling the choices for her scenes. “Between Michelle Henry (producer, GH) and Frank, they said, ‘You need to tell the story. Find the scenes that tell the story.” Once I did it was clear to all of us, the story has been told,” shared Amanda.

“Anyone who’s watching this reel can get a feel for the intensity of the story. I think after even the first scene where you’re just like, ‘Wait a minute! This girl had a baby? She didn’t know if it was a boy or girl?’ Now this nemesis of her wants to … ‘What’s happening? What’s going on? And then the mom knew the story? ‘ So by the end, your heart’s just broken for this girl.”

Initially, Amanda like the viewers were trying to figure out how GH would make sense of the story, where suddenly years later we find out Brook Lynn got pregnant at summer camp by Dante! Setton said, “Once they (the writers) started building it out and you saw all the different relationships playing out between her and her mother, her and Dante, her and Lulu, her and Gio, her and her husband Chase (Josh Swickard), even Tracy (Jane Elliot), and then the fallout of all of it, it just touched so many characters on the canvas. I think it was like a huge juicy burger for the fans to just take a big bite.”

AMANDA SETTON TALKS ON HER TV SON GIOVANNI MAZZA

In addition to Amanda, both Giovanni Mazza and Braedyn Bruner (Emma) landed their first ever nominations in the Emerging Talent category. Setton shared how she and Mazza have developed such a close bond.

“Gio and I are super close. Right from the start, we just hit it off.  He is such a delight. He’s so hardworking. He’s such an eager learner. He’s always looking to be better. He always wants to grow. That’s a huge testament to his work ethic,” explains Amanda. “He’s an amazing person, and over the last couple of years, we’ve had many deep conversations about work, about life, perspective, gratitude, values, a lot of different deep things. I could not be more thrilled for Gio and this moment for him. It is well deserved. He has worked so hard for it.  I really hope he wins. Although, I also love Braedyn!”

One of the most unforgettable moments of 2025 in the soaps is when Gio takes to the Nurses’ Ball stage after overhearing Lulu and Lois talk that he is the biological son of Brook Lynn and Dante. Ready to begin to play his violin, he smashes it pieces and storms off. Setton was in the scene and recalls, “That was wild. He did such a great job with that. That is not an easy moment to hit, pun intended. He nailed it.”

THE CONNECTION WITH JANE ELLIOT

On General Hospital, Brook Lynn is close with her ‘Granny,” the one and only Tracy Quartermaine, and in real life Amanda is very close with Jane Elliot, with whom she was able to share the news of her nomination. “First of all, this woman has become one of my closest friends.”

Amanda adds, I’m not exaggerating. I am confident to say she would say the same. We’ve become really close friends outside of work. We speak, almost every day.  We just went out to lunch last week. She’s become such a close person in my life over these last few years.  She’s such a leader. Jane’s a really special person in my life after my family. I wanted to share the news of this nomination with her and she was over the moon.”

HARD WORK PAID OFF

Getting a pat on the back from her peers is one of the more touching moments in Amanda’s career, as she explains: “I have to say we’re in the daytime world, so for us it feels so wonderful and so rich. But in the landscape of the entertainment industry, in daytime, we’re in the trenches. We work really hard. We have a ton of pages. We have a ton of really high stakes, dramatic work to try to do in a grounded, authentic way, continuously every day on television. Not that it’s thankless, because thank God we are employed actors on a network TV show, and we are also grateful. But, I’m not going to lie, and say it doesn’t feel good to just get a little ‘thank you’ or like a little, ‘I see your work.’ It feels fulfilling.”

You can check out the full live interview with Amanda Setton at the 2:24:26 mark during the Daytime Emmy Nominations Special Live below, which featured 13 newly-nominated actors sharing their reactions and what they submitted for their reels the landed them a nomination at the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

So, are you happy for Amanda that she finally secured her first ever Daytime Emmy nomination? Do you think she is one of the frontrunners for the gold for Outstanding Supporting Actress based on the emotional tale of Brook Lynn’s journey to learning she had a son and it was Gio Palmieri? GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Tells Danny: ‘The Place They Were Holding Me Was Bad, Really Bad’

What happened to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) when he was captivity by the WSB? That is the question on many minds of General Hospital viewers, especially following the airing of the Tuesday, July 14 episode of the ABC daytime drama series, which also received a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards yesterday.

In story and in the pick-up of Monday’s episode, Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) comes face to face with his father at the Quartermaine boathouse. Jason assures his son that he is home for good. However, Jason is confused why the WSB suddenly released him from Jakarta in the last 48 hours.

Danny goes in on his father for taking the fall for Cullum’s shooting when it was Rocco who shot the now deceased WSB director. Jason tried to explain he had to make a last minute decision and didn’t want Rocco’s life to be ruined by shooting another man.

JASON WANTS TO TAKE A SHORT TRIP WITH DANNY

Jason promised Danny that from now on, he is his top priority, and that time away has given him a new perspective. When Danny tries to get more intel from his dad on what he went through, all Jason would say is, “The place they were holding me was bad, really bad.”

Danny admits that the person he told that Rocco shot Cullum was Port Charles bureau chief, Jack Brennan, but he told him that WSB would want Danny to drop the whole thing, and just leave it be now that Cullum is dead.

TRACY SEES JASON

Suddenly, Tracy (Jane Elliot) shows up and is happy to see that Jason has resurfaced saying she knew he would be back. As she welcomed him home, Jason has a favor to ask her.

Next, he proposes much to Danny’s happiness, that he and his son are going to away together for a few days to catch up on things. So, that there is no issue, Jason asks if Tracy can please tell Alexis that he has returned to Port Charles and anyone else that would need to know, so they are not concerned for Danny’s welfare and that they know he is with his dad. Tracy agrees, and she and Jason share a hug.

Now the question is, what happened to Jason? We know his face is beaten up. We saw in flashbacks he was held in a cell and we can see he had been experiencing what seems like PTSD from being in captivity.

Previously, GH co-head writer, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten previewed to Soap Opera Digest on Jason’s return, “His imprisonment has had a profound effect on his outlook and how he intends to conduct the rest of his life. His decision will have big implications for Danny, Britt, the Quartermaines, Anna and especially Sonny.”

So, what do you think happened to Jason while being held by the WSB? Did something horrific occur? Will Jason tell Sonny he can no longer work for him so he no longer puts himself or his family in any kind of danger? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
