Anne Heche in Critical Condition After Fiery Car Crash

UPDATED: TV and film star, and Another World alum, Anne Heche (Ex-Vicky/Marley) is in critical condition following a harrowing and fiery car crash in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon.
“Anne is in the ICU, she’s lucky to be alive. She has severe burns and has a long recovery ahead. Her team and her family are still trying to process what led up to the crash,” a source close to the actress revealed to CNN on Saturday morning.
According to reports and video obtained by TMZ, Heche was driving at lighting speed and crashed twice in a residential area of Mar Vista. In the initial crash, Anne, who was driving a Mini Cooper slammed into the garage of an apartment complex. Residents attempted to get Anne out of the vehicle but she put her car in reverse and then sped away. Next, she crashed into a home, which ignited a fire, and the fire engulfed the entire home. However, Anne was severely burned in the fire and taken out by ambulance in a stretcher.
According to Los Angeles Fire Department Capt Erik Scott: “We had a significant traffic collision, we had entrapment of a woman inside that, we had car that erupted into fire, and then we had a home that had significant fire that is red tagged. It’s at this point destroyed.”
Heche is currently in a Los Angeles hospital, and had to be intubated following being severely burned.
Soaps fans know that Anne won a Daytime Emmy for her dual roles on Another World and played Vicky and Marley Hudson from 1987-2001. She has also appeared in the films, Donnie Brasco, Six Days Seven Nights, Wag the Dog. and more. On television, Heche has appeared in the last few years on: Dancing with the Stars, Quantico and Chicago P.D.
We will continue to monitor this developing story.
So, what do you think of the fiery crash involving Anne? Send your thoughts and prayers her way via the comment section below. But first, watch this news report from KTLA channel 5 in Los Angeles who were on the scene of the crash.
All indications seem to point her being very drunk & very stupid as a result. Hope she recovers from her injuries and deals with whatever issues led to this reckless behavior.
Thank all that’s unholy that she apparently didn’t hurt anybody else in the process…. but she’s probably looking at one Hell of a price tag, between property damage and her own medical bills. On top of whatever charges she might be looking at.
Anne’s portrayals of Vicki and Marley are my favorite moments on daytime. I can’t believe this happened!
This is very sad news, update from TMZ are saying they found a big bottle of alcohol in Anne car. She has really bad burns and is in bad shape. They say she is lucky to be alive. Wishing her well a wonderful actress.
This is very sad.
I’m always sorry to hear these kind of stories, and hope Anne recovers soon. But it’s not just Anne who is known by soap/movie fans who finds herself in this situation. But local stories like this all across the country, and in the news too frequently, many times with more persons hurt or worse. I’m sure there is a backstory that lead to Anne’s DUI. Hopefully she and others will get help here as well.
I am so very sorry for Anne. She’s been a favorite of mine since Another World, a beautiful and talented actress. Sending love and hope.
Terrible news. Prayers
Unfortunately a great actress but should have been in therapy so very sorry for her family. Issue after issue it has been with her. Prayers for her children
I pray she makes it and gets her life together
Anne is in a coma and not doing well, according to TMZ and people magazine. Prayers to Anne that she makes it.
If that doesn’t sober you up for life nothing will.
I’ve been a big fan of Anne Heche since DONNIE BRASCO and the sweet series MEN IN TREES. I hope she and the homeowners come out of this fully. Every year, Anne’s Christmas movies are staples. We watched them so often, we ended up purchasing ONE CHRISTMAS EVE, LOOKS LIKE CHRISTMAS, and SILVER BELLS. All the best to her and all affected.
I’ve been a fan since “Another World”, where she was fantastic. Childhood trauma affects people their whole life. That said, she needs a lot of help. I’m glad no one else was hurt. I feel bad for the homeowner. I hope she had insurance. A GoFundMe has been started for her, but if she has insurance, everything hopefully will be covered, plus coverage from Anne’s insurer since she caused the fire.
