Ashley Jones, one of the busiest actresses in we know, is headed back to The Bold and the Beautiful to reprise the role of Bridget Forrester. When fans of the series last saw Bridget, she left town last year after giving birth to her father-in-law’s baby! Yup, the baby Bridget had with Owen (Brandon Beemer).

According to TV Guide, Jones begins shooting  the week of September 12 and first hits the air October 18. The actress informed TVG,  “It’s been so weird turning on the TV and seeing my B&B family and not being a part of it. “I’m really excited to go back because there’s so much history to play.”

And when you take into account Bridget’s one true love has been Nick Marone (Jack Wagner) and Wagner has had no ladies recently in his life, could the timing be right to reunite that pairing? Or, could Bridget finally becoming a family unit with Owen? Jones related,  “I think the sky’s the limit as far as story potential with Bridget and those guys.  The fans have been so fabulous about keeping the Nick and Bridget relationship alive by making YouTube movies with footage from the show They send me Twitter updates every day. It’s been really incredible.

Meanwhile Jones states she is coming back to B&B  in a non-contract capacity, so she can continue to do her primetime and film career, which of course includes :  her role as Daphne on True Blood, a Lifetime movie debuting on September 25th, Secrets of her Past, and an upcoming movie with Y&R’s Christian LeBlanc, Grave Secrets: Deadtime Stories.

A busy gal just got busier, but it will be great to have Ashley stirring the pot on B&B very soon!

Miss Jones is a fine actress but I must say the B&B powers-that-be really have messed up Dr. Bridget Forrester, the character. It is too much to hope for, but when Bridget (the smart and creative Forrester) does return, I hope she is a genuine force to be reckoned with, the time away and realization of her dream to have this baby giving her focus and drive to leave her past in the dust. It would be exciting to give the Bridget an independent streak and not have her give regard to Nick (That ship has sailed!) or Owen (Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.)… Read more »

Ashley Jones is a wonderful actress who turns to gold whatever crap story the writers have given her. Bridget has alot of fans but TPTB only care about the same Hope/Steffy war like the old Taylor/Brooke. Boring. Been there done that for twenty years!

Daytime Emmys To Remain Virtual For Upcoming 2021 Ceremony

With an uncertain situation of when live events can get back to normal, or as they have been in the past prior to the coronavirus pandemic, The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced today that it plans on keeping next year’s Daytime Emmys award show virtual, to allow for the 2022 awards cycle to stay on track.

In fact, all of NATAS’s award ceremonies including: the News and Documentary Emmys, Technology & Engineering Emmys and the Sports Emmys will also remain virtual next year.

The Daytime Emmys became the first major award show to air a virtual presentation that others followed back in late June of this year and aired on CBS.

In a statement, NATAS chairman and CEO Adam Sharp expressed on the organization’s decision:“The current timetables articulated by manufacturers project mass availability of vaccinations for the entire U.S. population by mid-summer 2021, potentially permitting a return to more traditional in-person ceremonies later in the fall. However, we have determined that delaying our 2021 events to possibly allow for a compressed calendar of in-person Emmy ceremonies late in the year would result in unacceptable delays to our awards cycle for 2022. Instead, we have decided to remain “virtual” in the format of our ceremonies for 2021 while relying on a substantially pre-COVID awards calendar. In so doing, we believe we will be best-positioned to return to a full, on-time, traditional schedule of in-person ceremonies in 2022.

The dates currently under consideration for the 48th annual Daytime Emmys which would be via two or three nights of presentations are: a combination of dates from Friday, June 25, Saturday, July 17 and/or Sunday, July 18.

For those entering the competition, the entry deadline is February, 17, 2021 with  the nominations not to come till May or June.

So, what do you think about the Daytime Emmys going virtual again for 2021? Comment below.
