Who ever says people who work in the soap opera biz are not Hollywood elite or movers and shakers, please take note! The Hollywood Reporter revealed that The Bold and the Beautiful’s executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell, and his wife, the Director of Special Projects for the soap, Colleen Bell, will be hosting two different fundraisers in support of President Barack Obama’s re-election.  The events are said to be a good gauge of how Hollywood support is stacking up for Obama.

First up, is a 35,000-per-person dinners for the president at the Holmby Hills estate of the soap power couple! Actor Will Ferrell and his wife Viveca Paulin are among the co-sponsors of the dinner.  Event organizers are also working on a line-up of musical acts to perform on the lawn of the Bells’ house for earlier in the day. Those tickets start at $250 per person.

Those willing to pony up $71,600 will receive two tickets to the Democrats’ five- event local 2012 speaker series, entry to a Jan. 31 reception for First Lady Michelle Obama with a photo opportunity and dinner with the president at the Bells’ estate on February 15.”

B&B is kicking butt right now! It is much improved, and it would be the best daytime soap if it were up to its full potential. Right now the best “soapy” moments in daytime are on B&B! It’s my “guilty pleasure” soap.

Soaps are fading away… we have to support our last remaining soaps. Only 4 soaps left. Soon it’ll be reruns, talk/game shows and all-day news broadcasts littering daytime TV. I’ll no longer watch network daytime TV when that happens.

I could afford the $250 ticket but they would have let me sleep there…couldn’t afford a ticket and hotel. 🙂
I knew there was a reason why I enjoy their soaps so much.
