Brandon Barash Confirms His Return to Days of our Lives

Photo: JPI

Is Stabi love on its way back to NBC’s Days of our Lives, or is something else at play?  However it turns out, fans got a surprise music rendition from Brandon Barash on the DOOL app on Wednesday, where he announced and confirmed his return to the long-running daytime drama series.

While Barash sings a clever and original tune about Stefan O, he ends with some teases for DAYS viewers.

Brandon shared: “Will I be Stefan? Will I be somebody else? Will I be somebody else pretending

to be Stefan pretending to be somebody else pretending to be Stefan? Who knows? Tune in to find out!”  Look for April 23rd when you can see Brandon back in action on all-new episodes of Days of our Lives, and check out the DOOL app to see the whole video.

In story, the character of Stefan O. DiMera was originally brought on to the Salem canvas at the end of December 2017, when Vivian Alamain revealed Stefan O to be her son.The part was played then by Tyler Christopher.

Fast-forward to March of 2019, and Barash took over the reins of the pivotal role and quickly became a fan favorite, and later was part of the wildly popular pairing working opposite Camila Banus as Gabi Hernandez.  Unfortunately, Stefan was fatally shot by Lani Price (Sal Stowers), when she was aiming for his mother.  His heart eventually saved Julie’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) life.  Is Stefan back from the dead?  Wouldn’t be the first time in Salem.

So, excited to know Brandon will be back on DAYS? Who do you hope, and think, he will be playing? Share your theories via the comment section below.

I think he will play Stefan. They will explain history by revealing that Rolf did a switch, and that Julie really got the original Stefano DiMera’s heart.

Knowing Days. Julie’s heart is probably still her own in a bizarre twist…

Killing him off in the first place was a mistake..and killing off a character even when seen being killed and bring them back from the dead is redundant…it happens too much on soaps especially on Days..if they cant continue to write for a character simply send them away and bring them back later…killing them off because they want to focus on other characters then bring them back with the same predictable story-mind switch, mask, whatever is no wonder Days isnt the darling of the soap world it was back in the day and why daytime soaps are still frowned upon… Read more »

Kirsten Storms said that when he was cast as Stefan, they had already made the plan to kill him off, and once they saw the reception of him in the role, they immediately brought him back to the cast.

For the love of all that’s unholy, let’s hope he’s not the new host for his daddy’s brain chip.

When they do this sort of thing, I inevitably say I won’t watch “this nonsense ” , but with B.B, sexier than ever in his mechanics clothes, I will be front and center. Stefan was kind of a stuffed shirt, but our grease monkey will be the kind of thing to cheer us up. Who wouldn’t want to see HIM rolling out from under their car?

DAYS Billy Flynn, Greg Rikaart & Mary Beth Evans Talk On: Abigail’s Murderer Revealed, Orpheus’ Poisonous Plot & the Move to Peacock

September had been a pivotal month for Days of our Lives.  After nearly 57-years on broadcast television, the long-running soap opera shifted from NBC to exclusively streaming on Peacock.  While fans have been adjusting and wrapping their heads around the change, the stories of the characters you love to love, or love to hate, are continuing to play out in Salem.

This week, after months of a whodunit and who is to blame for the death of Chad’s wife, Abigail DiMera, DAYS fans finally learned that the actual killer was none other than Clyde Weston (James Read).  Meanwhile, Kayla has taken ill along with Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Kate (Lauren Koslow), all a part of Orpheus’ (George DelHoyo) longstanding feud with the women and the men in their lives.

Now on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, DAYS stars: Billy Flynn (Chad), Greg Rikaart (Leo) and Mary Beth Evans (Kayla) discuss their latest storylines, plus their thoughts on the soaps move on Peacock and its future.

As viewers witnessed on recent episodes, Chad figured out that it was Clyde who murdered Abigail, and went after him with a gun. Chad decided he wanted to hear the entire sordid story of how Clyde killed her.  This led to the showdown scenes at Abigail’s gravesite which included a visit by EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), who saved his brother from Clyde. During this interview, Billy weighs-in on taping the climatic scenes, what it was like to blame multiple characters for months for Abigail’s death, plus what the future holds in store for Chad as he moves on with his life post-Chabby.

Greg Rikaart shares his thoughts on if he ever thought Leo would turn out to be Abigail’s murderer since Leo had a revenge plot against those who wronged him. Rikaart also weighs-in on the story where Leo had a relationship with Craig Wesley, his enduring on-screen relationship with Emily O’Brien (Gwen, ex-Jana, Y&R) , plus working with Billy in the limited-series Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, where Chad goes in drag as “Belinda Chinashop” and more.

Mary Beth talks on Kayla’s latest plight; that  being kidnapped by Orpheus along with Marlena and Kate, the good doctor has become very sick while trying to maintain order at University Hospital.  Evans also shares her thoughts on the arrival of Abigail Klein as her on-screen daughter Stephanie, the departure of Marci Miller as Abigail, and more.

Check out our full interview with Billy, Greg and Mary Beth below, and make sure to ‘subscribe’ to the Michael Fairman Channel for more celebrity interviews, music videos, game shows and special event coverage.

Now let us know, what did you think of Clyde being revealed as Abigail’s true killer? What did you think of the confrontation scenes between Billy Flynn and James Read? What has been your favorite Leo moment since Greg came to DAYS?  Will Kayla figure out what Orpheus has done to her and others? Finally, are you enjoying DAYS on Peacock after its first few weeks of the series exclusively streaming? Share your thoughts in the comment section,

Roark Critchlow on His Return to DAYS and Working With Cady McClain

It’s been 12 years since Roark Critchlow appeared on Days of our Lives as Dr. Mike Horton, the brother of Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Cady McClain). However, fans have been excited to see him back on their screens when the series teased his appearance in the extended fall preview.

Now with Jennifer spiraling downward (now that her pill-popping addiction is back), it seems like a good time for Dr. Mike to return to Salem to help his sis. (And if the promo for this week’s DAYS is any indication, it certainly looks like Jennifer is going to be involved in a car crash and need medical assistance or at least some brotherly love.)

Photo: JPI

Roark initially appeared as Mike back in 1994 and left the soap back in 1999. He returned in 2010 for a few episodes honoring the late Frances Reid (Alice Horton) who was Mike’s grandmother.

In an interview about his return with Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Roark talks about working with McClain as Jennifer, when he previously worked with Missy Reeves in the part.

Critchlow expressed on sharing scenes with McClain: “Her character is going through a lot. She and I dropped in really easily, I felt. It was a very nice, natural care for each other. It wasn’t difficult, that’s for sure. Obviously, Missy is a super-duper person. But you don’t compare people. Cady and I chatted. We got on good. In terms of story, I thought we pulled it off nicely as being people who’ve known each other their whole lives.”

Look for Roark to make his DAYS re-emergence on the upcoming October 3rd episode of the Peacock streaming series.

So, looking forward to seeing Roark and Cady sharing scenes together? Share your thoughts in the comment section, but first check out this week’s promo for DAYS below.

‘NBC News Daily’ Hits Rock Bottom In Ratings Premiere Week

While networks have seen a collective erosion over the years of the soap opera viewing audience, they are still the most loyal and fierce of any entertainment genre.

With NBC’s decision to take Days of our Lives off of the network after nearly 57 years, and replace it with another daytime news program, they would surely have a rocky road ahead of them to capture viewers in that time slot; especially now that DAYS was moved exclusively to NBCUniversal’s streaming platform, Peacock.

Nothing was more proof positive of that, than the first week ratings and performance of NBC News Daily.

The news show which premiered on Monday, September 12th came in last for the ratings period of all daytime shows for the week.

According to SON: NBC News Daily averaged 935,000 viewers, was last among Total Viewers and last in the key demo ratings: Women 18-49 (tie) and Women 25-54.

In comparison to DAYS last week on NBC, and a year ago, NBC News Daily was down -744,000 and -762,000 viewers, respectively.

NBC News Daily features the latest national and international news, plus consumer, health, and personal finance segments and is hosted by Kate Snow, Aaron Gilchrist, Morgan Redford and Vicky Nguyen.

So, will ‘NBC News Daily’ find itself facing the same fate as ABC’s defunct ‘Revolution’, which replaced One Life to Live, and lasted only six months, or will the news program somehow turn a ratings corner? Does NBC really care one way or the other? Share your thoughts below.
