BREAKING NEWS: Genie Francis OUT at The Young and the Restless!

Here we go! The pink-slips are coming over at The Young and the Restless and it looks like one of the first casualties is none other than daytime icon Genie Francis (Genevieve Atkinson)! According to CBS Soaps In Depth today, they have learned that Genie has been let-go and the Daytime Emmy winner was informed that budget cuts were the reason! Rumblings are also fast and furious that there will be more Y&R talent exiting the series soon!
Now as far as Francis, this could potentially pave the way, if Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati were interested, in bringing Genie back to GH as Laura. However in late July at the GH TCA Panel, when asked about a return for Francis to her original soap home, Valentini commented, “I would just say that there is rich history that General Hospital has and there are many wonderful characters on the show right now, and in addition some people we are interested in bringing back. At this point unfortunately contracts forbid us to talk about things like that, but all I will say is we are big fans of Genie, I wish her the best, but I think we are pretty solid right now.”

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric
General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)
At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)
Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES
One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

I LOVED Genie as Genevieve was she was a schemer, but MAB ruined that. If she went back to GH, I’d watch, but I much prefer her on Y&R.
Frank needs to bring Genie Francis back to GH ASAP! It’s where she belongs. It never felt right seeing her playing another character on Y/R. She’s always gonna be Laura. And imagine bringing Laura back now with all that’s gone on between Luke and Anna. Talk about some rich history, and a story that pretty much writes itself.
Make it happen, Frank!
I am disappointed for I thought Genie Francis added something to Y&R. Sadly, she was quickly saddled with all that is-he-or-isn’t-he Cane story and her ex-husband battling with Tristan Rogers was short lived. And then she was only another player in the endless and boring corporate takeover snooefest among Newman, J’abot and Beauty of Nature. Again for Y&R, star players, earthbound writing and plotting.
I expect more to fall, too, and new characters to come to town. I pray for a strong solid compelling reboot.
Now I could really go for Genie Francis’s return to GH as Laura, hopefully a stronger Laura. I liked the maternal nature of the character, something Lulu could use right now!
Ditto. I would like to see her return to GH for the 50th anniversary & the birth of Lulu’s baby. But, I want Laura back before the old regime turned her into a catotnic mess. Hated that storyline.
Well the rumors are true we all knew that was first Genie out wth JFP at the helm. We will soon see her fav Steve Burton and MB and LW over there cause they want the spotlight and FV wasnt going to give it to them thank god! I say let the trio of suck LW, MB, SB go to Y&R and tank it like they almost did GH. Bring back Genie and join a cast that wants to share te spotlight.
You do know that the actors don’t write the stories, right? How you could say that the actors want to be in the spotlight because of what a storyline dictates, tells me you have no clue how a show is written and run.
Yeah get back to me when you see SB over there with JFPs and MB leaves GH. Tells me you haven’t been watching the same GH as me. I have seen the same three characters/actors in all stories and most of the airtime.
It also tells me you have no clue how much pull an actor has to their story. Especially those three who were JFPs and Guzas favorites.

Susan I agree on AG. But MB SB and LW do suck. Im not saying all GH fans but apparently many do cause the rating of the past reflect that they were last in the runnings and still are although its getting better but when the trio were in every story and focused on the majority of the show and the “mob element” GH sucked. If you want to pull the emmy card that is only because of AG’s story of Jake’s death. SB’s departure is just a hissy fit. Believe me I have no doubt he is going to Y&R. Good Bye I say the longer they drag is exit out the longer he overshadows the rest of the cast great work turning this soap around Genie may not be a good fit for Y&R but JFP loved giving her the pink slip just like all the middle age talented women she is envious of. To make room for her fav SB.
A HUGE “yes!!!” Bring Genie (Laura) Bach to GH!! BUT, as Genie has said herself – bring her back as a stronger & stable woman. I’ve been waiting forever for Lulu to introduce her mom to the love of her life. And of course bringing Laura into the Luke, Anna, Tracy triangle would be awesome to watch. In my opinion, THIS is the most exciting news for GH ever!

I also think Genevieve had potential, but they wasted it.
Now that JFP and Frons are not ruining GH, “Laura” can be written as a strong woman. I can see so much potential now that Lulu is married and possibly having some sort of problem with being pregnant or fertility or whatever. SHE NEEDS HER MOM as most women do.
Hopefully the comments Carlivati made were being coy – maybe he KNEW this would happen and has plans to call her back (crossing fingers).

I agree. I’m not surprised that JFP did this. If she don’t like you, she will get rid of you. What I don’t understand is she did an interview with TVGuide saying how she and Genie had a talk and what a great actress she is, and now she is fired? I was looking forward to the storyline that Genie was going to be doing and now that is gone. I don’t want to see someone else plan Gen. She made the character her own. Her fans will support her no matter what she does. But, I hope she comes back to GH. Would love to see Luke and Laura back together where they belong.
She is not going to GH FV said so more or less in an interview with SOD. It was not her fault another miscast by MAB she was too young for Cane’s mother. Oh, JFP does not mess around I guess she does carry grudges trust me Genie knew this was coming she has a business her husband has work she will do fine. Trust me all the charaters MAB brought on will be gone.
This was a no brainer. For some reason Jill F Phelps does not like Genie Francis. She refused to bring Genie “home”, it was just a matter of time before she relieved her of her YnR duties. Seems like JFP has a bit of the jealousy bug eatting at her. I have felt this for years. There was ABSOLUTELY no reason NOT to be given a contract when she returned, AND WON AN EMMY. Go to YouTube and listen to her acceptance speech. Something like..I have been waiting for this for thirty years. But still no recognition from GH “bigwigs”. Genie Fancis is a class act and wherever she lands it will be once again be GH loss. What a great day it would be, if she does return. We can all dream. And JFP better be really careful. The way she focuses on one character and neglects others, she is under a different unbrella now…….would hate it if she backs herself into a corner. NOT. I am so relieved that she is no longer in charge of GH and look how much better OUR show is. Lets all say a little prayer that “Laura” comes home.

I think it would be Great if Genie Francis reprised her role as Laura on GH providing there is a really good storyline to go with her return. I would not want to see her come back just to be a background character like Kristina Wagner’s Felicia has been.

People do get fired of budget reasons. I know it’s apparently hard to believe that but it happens.
It would be wonderful to have Laura back and for the 50th year it would be very appropriate!!! She must come back as a strong loving mother and not what they have done to her in the past. She is a very talented lady and GH could benefit greatly from her return… and isn’t that what everyone… including TPTB should want? Agree with the comment that when they bring her back that she doesn’t get sidelined forever like Felicia and Mac. She needs to be in the ensemble like everyone else! If GH doesn’t bring her back when the contractural issues are non-issues… they are crazy!!!
GH has a full cast now, in fact, they can get rid of a few characters and still have enough cast to tell the story. Great way to save money so they can keep the major players happy.
Not a fan of Genevieve – I just started watching Y&R again after a year or two. The character won’t be missed. There was no chemistry with any of the actors she played with.
Frank and Ron would be fools not to capitalize on this opportunity to secure Genie even if they push out her start date until next year. Genie needs to be on our screens again for GH’s 50th celebration!
there needs to be the money to bring GF on, and GH is full up and oa tight regulated buddget..
Y&R cut her for budget reason, I do doubt GH will take on the debt of paying her, not at this point in time.
It is not always about what fans or FV/RC wants, it is about business and budgets.

I loved Genie as Genevieve and thought Genie did an amazing job in this role. Genevieve was such an interesting character and so multidimenional. I loved watching Genie in this role ! I can’t believe they would fire such a talented actress and keep some of the untalented ones. Maybe, that is why soaps are dying because they get rid of all the talented actors and keep the others. I will miss Genie in this role and I actually grew to love “Genevieve” more than “Laura” !!
genie francis will not come back to general hospital. i would love to see her back myself as laura spencer but i don’t think she wants to go back to general hospital. especially the way they wrote laura weak writing. they will do the same thing. maybe days of our lives will call genie again. i loved her as diana coville.

I love Genie and GenV. She’s one of the few layered,unpredictable and interesting people they have on the show so I have to say it makes me sick to hear they fired her. Their was so much potential for her character. Was looking forward to her and SN getting a storyline about their past and Jess Walton and Gen were great together. I’m at a lose for words and only started watching Y&R because of Genie being on it. When she goes,I’m leaving and won’t watch this loser of a show again!
I don’t think they were ever going to explore Tucker and Genevieve – just like we are still waiting to find out the big secret behind the breakup of Noah and Eden.
They moved Sharon into Tucker’s universe. So Genevieve is left twisting in the wind.
I am not a viewer of GH so I never had problem with Genie Francis playing a different character. The problem I had was the writers were all over the map with trying to figure out who this character was. First she was crazy trying to kill her ex husband, then she was a strong confident woman finding love with Jack, then she was a backstabbing, money hungry,power seeking mogul and now this lacky doing the dirty work for powerful men. If I was playing that role I think I would be relieved to be let go and pursue better roles. I wish her nothing but the best and if GH can use her talents better than YR than she should go for it.
Genie is hardly a diverse actress and her character on YR was boring. She will always be Laura, she might as well accept it.
I liked her Hallmark movies she made….It would be nice to see her on GH again..Would Luke choose Laura over Anna?????????????????? But it doesn’t look like that will happen…………………….
I really enjoyed Genie Francis on Y&R. It wasn’t Laura on that show and I was impressed. (sssh) I watched Laura find the gold in 1983, I never thought I could see her as someone else. She was good.
Now, JFP called her fat and wouldn’t let her back on GH past the reunion thing a few years back, so this is no surprise.
GH MUST MUST MUST bring her back to the new fabulous GH. Even for a short time. A Laura/Scotty/Heather story? YUP!
Y&R belongs to Jill and Catherine anyway. GH belongs to Laura. Too many icons jammed on one show. There’s gonna be room on B&B for a matriarch. Lucinda Walsh to B&B! That would be HOT! Viki to Days? Trevor St. John to B&B.
Genie Francis is amazing–but it seems that only soap fans TRULY appreciate her rather than the behind the scenes people. Oh well. I’d watch GH again if Laura came back.
I think FV and RC spoke the way they did because they couldn’t talk to Genie while she was part of Y&R. Let’s hope they bring Laura home where she belongs!

I agree. I loved her on Y&R. But, I do want her back on GH. She will always be Laura. I want to see Luke and Laura back together. But, I don’t want it to be easy. I don’t want to automatically. I want them to work their way back to each other. I want to see the Luke and Laura love on my screen again.

Would love to see Genie return as Diana Colville before going back to GH. Her chemistry with Drake Hogestyn was off the charts,their romance was so real and believeable. I hated when she left Days. She hated being a prop for TG on GH and he looks old enough to be her grandfather. Genie deserves so much better then this garbage treatment!
OMG, I would be so happy to see Genie on DOOL. She and Drake (as Diana and RoJohn) made a really great (can’t find the right word – let’s say – organic ) soap supercouple and were incredible funny as well. However, her comments on “her stay on Days” were contradictory. In 2001 she open expressed her disappointment about what she did on Days, but in an interview (from 2011) she told that only the first half of the year was rather complicated but then everything was going funny and said some nice words about Drake once again.
Recasting Laura would be soap opera suicide for General Hospital.
Ron and Frank need to be on the phone with Genie and Tristan agents..This is the perfect time to bring back Robert and Laura….As a couple!! Yea, that would have smoke pouring out of Luke’s ears. Ha, ha, ha! Now that would be funny indeed. The biggest ripoff was when TPTB made Ethan Luke’s son and not Robert’s! So unfair to one of the best supercouples ever…Robert & Holly. Luke is supposedly off looking for the three of them. Why can’t TPTB show that instead of this crap with Trey/Kristina/Joe and Kate? Bleah!
I have always loved Genie Frances and would love to see her return back home to Port Charles. It’s where she belongs.
So sad for Genie. Once again Y&R brought a talent on and then didn’t know what to do with her. This show will forever be about the same characters and all the rest are there to temporarily orbit them. As a veteran of daytime Genie deserved better treatment. I hope she doesn’t stay away from our screens for long.
As much as I like Genie Francis, I am hoping this means that “budget cuts” will be for keeping the likes of Y&R VETERANS – those faces we have seen for years and years (and you know who I am talking about). 🙂

First of all, Genie is a stunningly beautiful and talented woman/actress, who deserves so much better than the misfortune of portraying one of MAB’s misguided character creations. I hope that RC/FV Dream Team snatch this jewel of daytime quickly. I’m sure they can appreciate her and write for her story that she deserves.
Genie needs to go back to GH, seems everyone agrees.
And Jill knows how to clean up Y&R, she’s doing it one character at a time.
I don’t have an opinion about Genie Francis but didn’t care for Genevieve. The character was poorly written and, as the mother of another character with only a “slim” connection to the show, the loss of the character really means nothing to Y&R. I’d like to think this had nothing to do with a purported bad history between the new producer and Francis. The character was just extraneous.
Jeanne Cooper herself said in the video interview on this website that Y&R had too many extraneous characters and that the show needed to get back to the basics. Genevieve would have been one of my first choices to remove from the show. If the new crew knows what they are doing and are serious about improving Y&R, they would follow what Cooper correctly said and “clean house” of the unnecessary characters. Genevieve was a good start. Now, I hope they decide to jettison other “dead wood” — Cane, Sarge, Yo-Harmony, Murphy, Eden, Ronan, and Avery. Heck, I could even understand ditching Adam and Chelsea.
It made no sense to send Jill Foster (sorry, still can’t bring myself to call her Fenmore) packing and keep these people. The show needs to refocus on the its core: The Abbotts followed by the Newmans and Kay’s crew (very few of them, including Kay, are Chancellors). Give these people decent, original storylines and the show might stand a chance.
Nothing against Genie Francis but Y&R really wasn’t her “game.”

We were attacked at an American Embassy and our President was dancing in the streets with Beyonce. And please save your attacks this will be the last time I post I am disgusted beyond words..

Would love to see a her come back to GH as Laura and have a Luke and Laura reunion! Feeling very nostalgic lately, and I may be old school, but missing the old ‘ Golden Days’ of soaps when I was in high school and College. Would still love to see some of that romance, and intrigue return for a bit anyway…

THANK YOU Y&R! I am not a fan of Genie Francis, especially not of her portrayl and role on Y&R. I much rather have a new character like this let go as opposed to Y&R vets. I’m sure that despite what Frank said at the press panel, GH will snatch her up if budget permits, however, I much rather have Robert and a few others return before her.
I agree with you. GH is really missing a ratings bonanza by not showing Robert and Holly trying to rescue “their” son Ethan from the evil Helena Cassadine. They teased us a couple of weeks ago when Luke finally told Anna that Ethan is really his son with Holly. Robert & Holly were one of the best supercouples GH ever had…and not to use Emma and Tristan’s magic again is so foolish.
wow, JFP cant even hide her dislike for FRANCIS, this is so unfair overall, but hopefully Francis can return to GH, Laura has heart, and soul, and maybe to francis this is weak, but to me Laura doesn’t come across that way. Laura has a son whose a billionaire, she should come back helping him run his business, and more of a career women. either way, laura rocks.
I’d love to see Laura return to GH! GH could really use some more focus on GH characters. Maybe Lesley could return too? I know, that’s too much to ask.
This is a shockingly stupid decision on the part of Y&R, and any show that snatches up this supremely talented and telegenic actress will be lucky to have her!
I honestly didn’t care for the character at first, but she has really grown on me; especially in these last several weeks. Genie will be fine, everyone. It was a lot of fun to see her on my favorite show, though, and I will miss seeing her.
Though I would love to see Genie return to GH-IF she does, be afraid, be VERY afraid…

I know Genie must be sad–and frustrated at the timing of this “firing.” I really hope that TPTB will be smart enough to beg, if that have to, and bring Genie Francis back to GH. We loyal fans have hoped for her return for so long–and Genie has said repeatedly she would be willing to come back. For some reason, they have turned a deaf ear before, but what better time to bring “Laura” back? Lulu needs her now that she is pregnant–and Luke needs her–and loves her–now, even though he and Anna are involved. He can be friends with Anna–as can Laura–and Duke and Anna can have a big romance along with L and L. And watch the ratings soar! What a whopper of a story for the 50th anniversary celebration in April 2013.
I would be thrilled if Genie made a return to GH as Laura.
But as she said on the Oprah show -she didn’t want to play a victim role.
So if a possibility exits for Genie to return ….please don’t make her the perpetual vic again.
