Heartbreaking news for General Hospital fans: multiple sources have confirmed that Daytime Emmy winner Tyler Christopher will not, in fact, be returning to the ABC daytime drama series in his beloved role as Nikolas Cassadine!

Soap Opera Digest broke the news who related that contract talks stalled and then fell apart between the actor and the show, citing, “Though both parties had hoped to strike a new contract deal and for Christopher to report back to work in September, negotiations fell apart last month.”

Christopher had played the dark prince of the Cassadine clan for over 20 years and debuted in the role back in 1996.  His win this year in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series was so touching given his long tenure in daytime.

Tyler left the show back in June citing “personal reasons”, and the role was temporarily played by Nick Stabile until GH “killed-off” Nikolas in hope’s of Christopher returning to the series in the near future.

Very sad news, but I said this 1 month ago. Tyler will not come back to GH. Rehire Nick Stabile he was terrific and had chemistry with Ava Jerome played by Maura West.

No there must be someone else he wasn’t Nic

Looks like the viewers really got jerked around once again, doesn’t it?

I dont think, this time. It seems like ABC tried to sign him and it just didnt work.

Perhaps that was to prevent letters to ABC so that FV would have to do what he could to accommodate the real GH fans…………..

I agree with Claudio. Really enjoyed watching Nick Stabile’s portrayal of Nicholas Cassadine. I think he did an awesome job and yes he had great chemistry with Maura West!

Raising my hand as another person who liked Stabile’s portrayal of Nicholas. Sounds like something else is going on with TC other than contract talks because they wouldn’t have gotten rid of Stabile unless they fully expected that TC would return. Maybe he’s just not interested in being one corner of yet another romantic triangle, & the other story possibilities being proposed are not enough to make him return. My main sadness if for Genie Francis & Nicholas Bechtel. Laura is finally back on the canvas & Lulu is the only family she has to interact with in Port Charles. And, NB & TC didn’t even have a great final scene together because they didn’t know that would be the end of their partnership. Bummer.

Agree! Bring Nick Stabile back as Nicholas if he is available!

Liked Nick Stabile better anyway.

Mike…me, too. Y-e-p.

A to the Men to That! Bring Nick Back!

Though sad to see him go and think he’s a fool to let a good gig go, BRING BACK NICK STABILE!

AGREE 100%………..

Sorry…im not going to loose any sleep over it because he can still always return or even his replacement nick Stabille…at the moment im not missing his character!!!

I agree with you Jim. Although I will miss the wonderful chemistry he had with the terrific actor who plays Spencer. They have so many actors on the canvas now its hard to keep track of who’s coming and going. I get headaches trying to keep up with it all. As the say goes , I guess we’ll have to tune in tomorrow to see what happens.

Go back to negotiation table. This will be a terrible loss especially after killing off Sabrina today. REALLY. Should have killed that Amy girl.

Amen, Jimh. Besides, when actors’ heads get that big, sometimes they don’t fit back on our screens.

Yeah…… I’m sure this was Tyler…… after all, FV tried to lowball pretty much every other vet that has been in contract discussion to make more money available for the likes of Michelle Stafford and Roger Howarth!

I’m done with this farce of a franchise. And everything else on ABC too. (Luckily that isn’t really much in my book to begin with.)

Really bummed out !
Thoughts though – I hate to say it but they could age Spencer (I know we hate SORAS).
But he could come back with Laura as the heir apparent to the Cassadine fortune – it could open up a lot of story lines.
Or leave things as is with Nik currently dead and see what happens with Valentin (I’m assuming that story isn’t finished).

I guess they can bring that other guy back then. Or recast Michael Muhney in the role. He has the acting chops to deliver a strong performance as Nicholas.

bravo ! this is it…

as much as it pains

yep … Tyler Christopher will forever be the man; I’ve lost some verve in the support for this show

Michael, love your Muhney suggestion! I had hoped Muhney would have played the role of Valentin!

Although I’m sad, it has been apparent for some time that Tyler’s heart was not with the show. I would love to see a recast, Cassadines add a lot of mystery and flair to the show. Let’s bring back the glamour of Cassadine Island!

yeah… nevertheless this is a stunner… it’s like killing off the DiMera of DAYS…

GH needs that mystique… letting go Tyler Christopher is certainly NOT the answer

GH fumbled on this

So happy that Tyler won the Emmy this year for his great performance. He has left before and come back so you never know. Hope to see Nick Stable back in the role as he did an excellent job and the chemistry with Maura West was fabulous.

Totally agree!! 🙂

Its very sad. That his not returning. We will miss you.

I’m so sad but it doesn’t surprise me. GH isn’t great at keeping veterans. They lure them back, then want them to take huge pay cuts. I’ll miss Tyler and I’ll miss Nikolas. This is a special character and needs a named/dynamic actor. Nick was adequate but he’s no Nikolas.

i’m quite surprised at the turn of events … with posts as well

how quickly it is to turn…

GH had the best opportunity to REEL a lot of emotion with Tyler and Maura West

w/ Spencer

this is a huge blow to the canvas… whats the deal

more Corinthos ????

Disagree. GH has one of the largest recurring casts in daytime – with Finola Hughes, Bradford Anderson, Kimberly McCullough, Leslie Charleson, Jacklyn Zeman, Wally Kurth & the actors who play Maxie’s parents, Lucy Coe, Lucas, Brad, lawyer Diane, etc. forever popping in at a moment’s notice. What they won’t do – and would be foolish to do – is put all these people on contract when there is no huge story for them to participate in. That would be throwing money down a hole.

I think a lot of people are reading the situation incorrectly. TC is currently filming an indie film out of state. It’s possible he may have wanted to be on recurring status and not on contract, even with a big paycheck, because he might want the chance to do other things (like Kimberly McCullough). That wouldn’t work well for a soap that wants to use him in yet another front-burning romantic triangle. After 20 years of doing daytime romance, TC might have found that proposal pretty boring & no longer challenging. Actors don’t always leave because they want more screen time & more pay. Sometimes, they just realize it’s time to do something else, like Jonathan Jackson did.

GH production blows

dang it ! i’m drawing blanks…

another character taken for granted… Tyler Christopher brought a mans man and made his character amenable to the whole cast

I want GH to fail … have to vent… stew for a bit

He had the whole enchilada… complete feast

GH has very little in the menfolk department to ROOT for

as I’ve posted… we had;

Paul
Joe
Nicholas

Cutis has lots of potential
Julian is always a mix

and of the younger mix… Morgan and Dillon are manning up

is Paul on his way out… w/Nicholas OUT

GH needs to bring back Valentin and Ned

Mr. Tyler Christopher… I WILL ALWAYS MISS Nicholas Cassadine

Godspeed

OK – Kevin , Lucas, Aaron, TJ, Brad… are very noteworthy

I’m over : Sonny, Michael, Dante, Spinelli, Jason… weary of taking forever for gold in Roger Howarth’ Franco

I will miss seeing him on GH. Hate it when you have followed an actor or actress for years and then they leave for other gigs. Good luck though.

This is disappointing news. I really like Tyler Christopher as Nikolas and was hoping he would return, and we’d get an exciting storyline for him. However, since it appears he won’t be back, I’m really hoping GH rehires Nick Stabile and puts him on contract, because Nikolas is an important character to the canvas, and Nick did a stellar job filling the void left by Tyler’s exit.

Sorry to see Tyler leave. Wish him the best. They need to recast with Nick Stabile. Huge GH Character must be recast.

So sad. I am really upset at this news. I love nickolas(Christopher). Please bring him back. He is pivotal character on GH

Bring back Nick Stabile!

I prefer Tyler but I must say he looked bored and or tired at the end of his run? Nick Stabile did a wonderful job. I dont know why he didnt stay on anyway until Tyler would have come back? Nickolas Cassidine is so important to the canvas. He touches Liz, Laura, Lulu, Alexis, ect and needs to be on the show. Nick Stabile should be hired permanently and let the good times roll! [Keep him away from that evil bitch Ava!] Nick and Nina? Valentin would LOVE that!

I agree with you up to… your first sentence … LOL

all of 2015 he was mesmerizing… and richly deserved that gold accolade

recognition of his work… and commitment ?

it all went downhill… when they went overboard and in to overkill with Hayden

I certainly think there were times in his performance that he just was not.. in to his material…. scripts

it pains me that his commitment of 20 plus years with the show… went nowhere

I wish him the best

PS: I love your wish list for the new Y&R headwriter

Yeah Patrick, I didnt think of that, Tyler walked away after 20 years with nothing. Sad!

I’m certain he’s amassed a fortune and secured his families welfare

this should comes back to haunt GH

He is rich and will go on and do other things. I dont see this as a huge blow to GH. The ONLY thing that would hurt not having Tyler there is if Emily were alive and back on the show. THEN I would feel cheated!

Bring Nick Stabile back! He’s Fantastic!

Maybe he can play Adam Newman on Y&R! And GH could rehire Stabile in the role!

I certainly think he has the stuff to be Adam

and / or perhaps as DAYS recast of Peter Blake

Tyler is too soft to play the role of Adam. Former GHer Jason Thompson is at Y&R ruining the role of Billy right now. Enough is enough!

I do not think he’s too soft… forever and day… fans wanted the knight and shining armor of a good guy…

he displayed so much energy in all of 2015… reason for his best actor win

which further exemplifies TC acting

I would never balk at hiring him for Adam or Peter Blake.

He can go over to Y&R and play Adam Newman and Nick Stabile or even Stephen Martines who played the character after he left the first time.

Can come and play Nikolas.

Really sad to hear he won’t be returning…he has always been one of my favorite actors on GH….

not surprised, i will miss tyler but ya know i loved when nick subbed for him, bring him back!!!! i vote for nick stabile

Who does everyone prefer as a recast? Nick Stabile or Stephen Martinez (ex-Nik #2)?

Leave it to GH to not sign a talent right after he took home an Emmy for his role. Hey GH – stop bringing on all the cheap newcomers and keep the talent and legacies of your show….you know, the ones who bring you awards. Shame on GH for turning on him.

How do you know they did? Sometimes actors leave for reasons other than money or screen time. Jonathan Jackson & Steve Burton left because they wanted LESS screen time, & more time with their families. There’s a burnout factor that fans refuse to recognize. Playing the same role & storylines for a decade is BORING for some actors. TC may have just reached his limit & decided that if GH could not be flexible & give him more down time, he’d walk. He’s filming a movie now. So, it’s not like he’s sitting around twiddling his thumbs.

Good point Kansas.

Get Stabile back, quick! I liked him way better than Tyler, anyway.

I am sorry to hear Tyler will not be returning. I really like the actor. I did however, think Nick Stabile did a great job filling in and agree that he has great chemistry with Maura West. I hope the powers that be decide to continue the character of Nik with Stabile playing the role. I wish all the best to Tyler Christopher and will miss seeing his sexy physique on the screen. I am happy for him winning the Emmy. Those scenes surrounding Spencer’s accident were incredible.

LOTS of viewers – and posters on other boards – are receiving this news as the final straw. I know I am. Why bother watching any more…. this isn’t GH anymore. Best of luck to Tyler, I hope he’s off to bigger and better pastures. But the show has now rid itself of almost everyone who made it GH. Poor Genie Francis, she finally is allowed to come back and then she has no one to act with. One thing though, FV has ruined the show enough that most long time fans probably don’t even care that much as to what happens from here. I know my interest is significantly down.

RIGHT ON and “thank you ” Elizabeth for hitting it … take the wind out of my sails GH

yeah, personally.. this bites… and the show will sail

J & S are not bringing anything worth quantifying… where’s the meat

Genie was fine without Tyler. They havent been on screen a lot so a recast wont matter much. Plus, Genie is in love now!

Although there would have been a lot of baggage, I’m sad that we never got to really see an Elizabeth / Nikolas pairing with Elizabeth and Tyler. It seemed to be one of the most obvious pairings to explore – whether it lasted or not – and yet none of the writers were ever willing to go there for whatever reason (and on a show that gave us a Luke/Laura and a Sonny/Emily – it isn’t like they aren’t willing to go there with other outrageous pairings with LOTS of baggage).

We did have Elizabeth and Nic. Or, are you not counting their affair???

LOL, no, I’m not counting the affair. It was a sordid mess but I always thought with time, they could revist that relationship in a more mature way. And the characters did circle one another the last few years without ever going there – although it was clear that both of them wanted to at one point or another during those years, just never quite at the same time. And it always felt like the writers wanted to tease that possibility, but never wanted to commit to it.

They were incredibly hot together…played by Rebecca and Tyler…really explosive, sexual onscreen chemistry! But I hated the pairing because of their betrayal of Lucky. Moving forward I agree…there was always the hint they’d get back together…the timing never right…almost as if they found other people to resist their “forbidden” love. I’m not sure how I’d feel about them finally getting together. Maybe they will eventually come to fruition if Nicolas is recast. Would be interesting…

awww too bad..
Tyler did a great job as Nikolas..
I assume Nick Stabile will be our new Nicolas..

anyways– I believe none of us are shocked- we saw it coming..

Things seemed to have really changed at GH. One day he’s back, next day he’s gone. That seems to be the common thread in a lot of GH news recently. Bringing in old worn out story lines, that make no sense, adding new story lines that go nowhere? Same with the actors. Killing off pivotal characters. I love Richard Burgi why get rid of him by making him a serial killer..Really, how many hospitals have serial killers? Bring Nick Stabile back he did a great job. Best of luck to Christopher Tyler in whatever he chooses to do. He will do well. As for me, after 50 years of GH it’s hard to watch anymore. sorry

Nick Stabile grew on me and I would love to see him back on GH. I also look forward to seeing Tyler Christopher in other projects.

PS: Could we get Trent Dawson back, only this time with a decent character?

Do not mind a recast. PLEASE do not use that actor that replaced him this past summer. Not a Cassadine, too weak and wimpy.

Bummed to hear this! Hope they don’t recast & that they can revisit the contract down the road. I do wish the character of Ethan would return, even though I know that would be a recast.

Really terrible news. Now that Tyler Christopher is out, Maurice Benard is the only remaining veteran male actor on contract at GH. The show gets more unrecognizable by the day. 🙁

Total BS!!!!!! A complete smack in the face to Tyler and his fans. It’s not as if he hasn’t earned the right to negotiate a decent contract. Beyond livid!!!!!!

It’s time for Frank and the writers to go. Frank can’t hold on to actors when contracts are up and wants to bore us with OLTL actors. Don’t get me started with the writers! At this point I’ll take back Guza.

I would have thought winning Best Actor meant contract negotiations often go your way. Oh well, best wishes to Tyler in all that he does. I hope we see him in some of his other projects soon. If GH brings back Nikolas, I hope it isn’t too late to offer the job to Nick Stabile (if he is available and if he wants it.)

Horrible! He was with GH for 20 years for them to not respect their vets like that is horrible. He just won the Emmy. They are fools. The history he had with the show, the chemistry he had with Rebecca Herbst. Devastating loss to the show. Too bad they don’t realize it and instead put their energy and focus on the characters and actors they brought on and want instead of the ones that the fans have spent decades invested in. Sad.

I like Tyler and was looking forward to his return. I read earlier that he wasn’t coming back and was disappointed. Not sure what they’ll do now…Laura’s out of town, Spencer’s away at private school and Nicolas is believed dead. In an effort to save money maybe ABC will let it stand. Could be the end of the Cassadine era. Hope not. Would like to find out what happened to lil Jake on the island, if Lulu is a Cassadine “mommy”, what did Helena hint at regarding Laura, more with Valentin. Sam’s curse…and I’m starting to believe Helena somehow messed with Julian’s mind which is why he went after Alexis with the same knife her mother was murdered with. I KNOW Julian loved Alexis and still does…

Back to Tyler. Will miss his familiar face and brooding prince ways. I liked Nick Stabile and would welcome him if they recast…but I was thinking David Fumero (Christian (OLTL) or David Gregory (Ford, OLTL) would both be fantastic. Both gorgeous, both very good actors.

Hey, it seems everyone is on board with Nick Stabile! They will recast the role and hopefully Nick S., is interested and available.

To me he’s just another strange face on a show I once loved and never missed. Now’s there’s no point to tuning in just to see a bunch of strangers in meaningless plot lines that don’t ever go anywhere. Might as well just set up a camera at a few points around town and take turns broadcasting the footage. Interspersed with mob and serial killings of course.

Everyone is not on board with Nick Stabile, trust me.

Although we will never know what happened behind close doors- most likely he overestimated his value after his Emmy win–the guy they hired slid into the role that he was hardly missed. Some roles cannot be recast or if they are there is an uproar with fans-obviously this was not the case with this role– the suits knew that and I suspect they wanted him take less money– I hope he gets another gig– but the truth is they ruin the character a while ago for me, so I’m not missing the character at all

This is why a lot of GH fans have tuned out and why they won’t be back and ratings will remain low.

There has been no regard for, no priority for GH actors and characters. Vet after Vet gone, not on and new actor after new actor after new actor. Easton and Howarth have been out in front and on literally every day for about three weeks. I hear people asking for Nick Stabile back. Well, I’m not surprised, they are current viewers and current viewers are watching a show that barely resembles GH, so they are less likely to care.

But this is a symptom of a larger problem that has been going on for years and we’ve just about arrived at the end game for Frank. A show that barely resembles GH, focuses on his two OLTL actors, (jumping through hoops to try and make them work) as well as other friends like Budig. GH is basically gone, has been for a while.

Great post AJQ and 1000 percent spot on!

I couldn’t agree with you more, AJQ. I’ve been a defender of Frank V. on this site, a lot more than most. But this one really soured me on him. He dropped the ball big time. They have all the budget in the world to saturate the show with all these useless new characters, but apparently none for a 20 year beloved fan favorite. It makes me sick, and honestly makes me not want to watch the show anymore after 21 years.

Dark prince? He was the good Cassadine until this year! :-/

I didn’t care for Nick Stabile, and only tolerated him because he was temporary.

I will miss Tyler Christopher. And I will miss Nikolas and Spencer together – a lot. :'(

Bring back Nick Stabile. He was great !!!

Nick Stabile or Michael Muhney

or

Michael Muhney or Nick Stabile

Thanks Tyler, I enjoyed your work through the years.

He is like the only reason to watch that mess. Too bad

We wish you well in your future endeavors.
Now, please get Nick Stabile back and like yesterday!!
Hope they kept Nick on standby.
What chemistry with Ava. He fit in so well for a temp. replacement like I haven’t seen before in quite sometime.

Im sorry but i say a BIG NO to anotjer recast. Unless they try really hard to find a better Nicholas, i will always miss Tyler. We were robbed of a magical connection with Maura West and Rebbeca Budig. Thank god for Micheal Easton, at least he is back and even better as Finn than Sîlas.
The only “maybe” Nick for me would be Paul Anthony Stewart. He played Danny Santos on Guiding Light.

I am enjoying Finn.

Heartbreaking news? Not even a little bit. Good riddance to this dude. Definitely bring back Mr. Stabile to play the role of this pivotal character. I thought he was fantastic during his short run as Nikolas and loved him opposite Maura West. Hopefully GH execs are listening.

Couldn’t agree more!!! Thought I’d be the only one to see Mr. Christopher go.

I sure wish none of this had happened. He won the big prize and no sooner did he do that then he’s off the show. I don’t get it.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

on

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
