Well, it’s time to be whistlin’ Dixie! Cady McClain posted a very special message today on her website confirming that she has plans to be part of Prospect Park’s All My Children reboot! Therefore, it looks like Dixie Martin will be back in action!

Cady stated: “Since word got out that AMC/PP contacted me, I thought it was best to wait a bit until I confirmed it out of respect for the fact I am still sorting out the details of the situation. However, I feel confident in telling you that I will be a part of the AMC Internet Re-boot. I am very excited about the possibilities for the show in this medium and want to help give it every chance at success.

As you probably know by now, I am fascinated with all the many possibilities for creative expression that the Internet has to offer. I have a feeling the show will find many new opportunities for connecting with fans and I look forward to being a part of that as well.

I am also thrilled that Ginger Smith, who has worked on AMC for as long as I can remember, is finally getting the chance to helm the show. There are few people that know and love AMC as much as Ginger. I know for a fact she is doing everything in her power to make the show as wonderful for the long time fans as she possibly can.   Thank you all so much for your well wishes and support.”

So after hearing directly from Cady, are you more excited about the AMC reboot? What story do you think the writers should put in place for Dixie?  Let us know!

Now we need Tad!

… Tad and Cara !!!! …

She is already on board though. So excited, this is really happening!!!

We need Tad, Erica, Ryan, Greenlee, and Jackson – without them its not AMC and Erica’s girls Kendall and Bianca need to sign as well

Actually, having the 3 time back from the dead, Dixie back is repulsive to me YUCK.

She is very hard to tolerate and without Tad to hold up the always way too needy uneducated no career Dixie, she is rather useless..
Just what will she do? Work at the car wash LOL 🙂
Maybe she will die and come back from the dead for the 4th time LOL the Dixie character does that very well LOL ..

Anyways, I am not pleased, but what can ya do ..

You are just an unhappy person. Sing You Are My Sunshine they Dixie would sing it to JR when he was young and maybe you will be a happier person! 🙂

How ridiculous Tad floundered around with out her.She NEVER should have been killed off with those stupid pancakes after all the trouble to return her to the series.I’ll watch Dixie run the car wash or the chicken shack perhaps.
Tad will probably be back too.

Tad fell in love with Cara without Dixie around lol
And he gathered friends and family to tell them all he had fallen in love with Cara and he gave a great speech good’bye to Dixie :)..
Tad was reborn and alive again and happy with Cara 🙂

Since Cara is back I do hope they rekindle the heat/love of Tad and Cara 🙂

Looking forward to Tad and Cara!!

Yes because he believed that she was dead.If you had the chance to have someone back that you lost to death,it would be UBELIEVABLE, to think you wouldn’t take it.

I had forgotten about her Breakfast of Champions, the Poisonous Pumpkin
Pancake Caper – that was an all time low in stupidity LoL – but she’s
wonderful in the role of Dixie, just keep her away from the Breakfast table.

I’m sorry, I can’t remember, were they Pumpkin Pancakes (yuck) or were they Peanut Butter Pancakes (double yuck) – at any rate, I know they were intended for Babe but Dixie ate ’em instead. What a way to go – but she came back…again…and again…and again….

Since the casting seems so sketchy thus far I am happy to see that Dixie will be back as portrayed by Cady. True, her character has come and gone a few times too many to count, but I am glad that more familiar faces are beginning to emerge. There will be a new J.R., and that’s all right since there’s really no choice considering the actor (Jacob Young) most known for playing him is contracted to another show – so I hope that having the characters of Dixie, Angie, Jesse, the evil Dr. Hayward and Opal as played by the actors most associated with them with help maintain a semblence of the original show.

A Cara/David/Dix tri, without any Martin men around, works for me! 🙂 If Cara thought Tad’s bond with Dix was unbreakable, her dealing with David’s obsession for Dix and coming out on the other side with him and their child will finally cure him of it!

I’ll be happy to see Dr. David and Cara back too! As for Dixie, I’m having a hard time figuring out how Cady comes back again as Dixie. 🙂

If MEK isn’t returning, I’d be just as happy with a new Tad finding a new love, who just looks like Dixie. 😉

I read that Micheal Knight was busy with other things and didnt want to return to his role as Tad. im still happy to at least get Cady back as Dixie. like her or not you still need some of these vets tied to the shows history otherwise with too many newbies what would be the point of bringing AMC back if its going to look like a totally different show. You might as well rename it All My Different Children. If they did get Tad back, having him eventually reunite with Dixie would be just fine with me.

Having Dixie back is GREAT news! Now if we can only hear that MEK is also on board we are good to go!

Now we’re talkin’. Things are shaping up nicely for the revival of All My Children. Can’t wait to see Cady playing Dixie again.

Cool beans! If she’s gonna be on AMC, then I might just start watching again.
Now for Adam, get him back too!

Mark Consuelos Celebrates One-Year Anniversary as Co-Host of ‘Live’ Alongside Kelly Ripa

Today, April 17th marks a full-year since Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo, All My Children) took over the co-hosting duties of ‘Live” alongside his wife, and longtime co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, All My Children).

Consuelos replaced Ryan Seacrest who are six seasons decided to be back on the west coast full-time. For Consuelos, now having the opportunity to work off of Ripa as co-hosts has been something of adjustment for him, but viewers have been eating it up.

Live with Kelly and Mark has remained the No. 1 entertainment talk show on television over the past year, growing 3% in average total viewers to 2.23M per episode.  It is also the most-watched daytime talk show in the last year in key demos of women 18-49 and women 25-54. All of this, since the real-life marrieds teamed-up.

Speaking with Deadline, Kelly Ripa shared why the two are gelling on-screen, “I do think that there is something very possibly relatable about our relationship. We have disagreements like a normal couple, and we’re not afraid to let them unfold on the air and in front of America, and I think people find a lot of themselves in that.”

Mark weighed in how he has progressed as a host, and what he could improve at, sharing, “I’d like to get better at my interviewing skills. I’d like to get better at reading a teleprompter…I think I’m getting better at throwing to commercial. The other day in the middle of the show as we go to commercial, my sign off was ‘See you guys around.’ I mean, the show wasn’t over. The most obvious thing to say would be, ‘We’ll be back right after this.’ But I just said, ‘See you around.’ So we went to commercial and one of the producers (goes) ‘What was that?’ I don’t know… So for the next few sign offs, as a joke, I’d say ‘See you around.’ We got a kick out of it.”

Meanwhile, Kelly has given huge props to Mark, “I find Mark utterly compelling, really interesting, super funny, and he’s bold in a way like nobody else. He says what’s on his mind. If he’s thinking it, he says it.  I’ve done this a long time and oftentimes people will adjust their natural personalities to pander to what they think the audience wants to hear, and Mark will tell people what he thinks, and he doesn’t care if it’s not a popular opinion. It gives him an edginess that I think is really missing in the landscape today. Everybody’s so afraid to say anything, and Mark is unafraid to say exactly what he’s thinking.”

In a statement, Debra O’Connell, President News Group and Networks, Disney Entertainment shared, We could not be more thrilled with how Mark has seamlessly joined the show family as permanent co-host. His undeniable charisma and his and Kelly’s natural chemistry are evident as they deliver the laughs and smiles to our viewers each morning. We are incredibly proud of how Live has continued to evolve and that the audience is responding so enthusiastically.”

So, do you think Mark Consuelos is the best co-host his wife Kelly Ripa has ever had on ‘Live’? How would you say he is doing as co-host after one full year on the job? Comment below.
