Cameron Mathison to Star Opposite Candace Cameron Bure in Holiday Movie for Great American Family
General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison (Drew Quartermaine) can be seen on multiple shows and formats these days. Mathison has a front-burner storyline on the ABC soap opera as well as hosting Game Show Network’s summer series, Beat The Bridge.
According to Deadline, now comes word that Mathison will also star opposite Candace Cameron Bure in an upcoming Great American Family holiday movie, Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells. Look for it this November as part of Great American Christmas 2024. The holiday programming event is in its fourth season. In addition, Bure serves as one of the project’s executive producers.
In story, Gracie (Bure) is Peachtree Inn’s perfect wedding planner whose mantra “No problems, only solutions waiting to be discovered” makes blushing brides’ dreams come true. When Charlie (Mathison) brings his sister and future brother-in-law to their former hometown of Butler, South Carolina, expecting to create a magical Christmas Eve wedding at the Inn for Lindsay and Josh, the trio is stunned when Gracie stubbornly declines the job, saying it is not possible to pull off the perfect wedding two weeks before Christmas. Eventually, Gracie relents and agrees to plan the wedding, only to discover there are more hurdles to overcome than expected.”

This isn’t the first film Great American Family already has set for its Great American Christmas 2024. Others include A Vintage Christmas, Love at the Kettle (working title) and A Christmas Less Traveled (which also stars Bure).
Back at the end of 2023, Mathison signed a multi-picture deal with Great American Media. He has previously starred in Merry Christmas Wish and A Kindhearted Christmas for the company.

Bure came under fire in 2022 after becoming the Chief Content officer for Great America Media for her stance that Great American Family will keep “traditional marriage at the core,” after responding negatively, if same-sex couples would appear as leads in GAF’s upcoming TV film projects. Bill Abbott, CEO of the company, said of Bure comments in an interview with Variety during the backlash, “When she speaks on that, she’s not speaking on behalf of Great American Media.”

They can keep it, and keep Cameron Mathison, too. Hoping this leads to an eventual exit from General Hospital and he can go to that “family” (a.k.a. all-White, heterosexual) network.
Two terrible actors with homophobic views. Maybe Cameron Mathison will finally have chemistry with a co-star? May these movies be a full time gig so this turkey will leave GH.

CCB’s views have been out there a long time; I didn’t know about Mr. Mathison. That’s disappointing, but if that’s his viewpoint, the Candy Cam Channel is the perfect place for him.
Wish he’d go back to these movies full time and exit GH.!
This really is terrible. A lot of fans didn’t like C.M when he first came to G.H. I’d only known him from A.M.C and thought he was o.k. I really have no idea how many of the not liking fans he’s won over. I was not crazy about him and Carly and hated his sexual encounters with Nina even more, because of my dislike for her character, so I guess you could say, my feelings were, take him or leave him, now I’d rather leave him, so my question is , can an actor’s popularity or??, be ruined by the subject matter or charactor they are portraying? Right now I don’t want to watch him in a Dog Food commercial, but welcome other opinions and views.
They ruined the character of Drew when they recast with Cameron; it wasn’t really his fault because nothing about the writing was “Drew.” Drew would never have dated Carly, he would have never have been so harsh, mean, insensitive, obnoxious to Nina, he never would have punched Ned out or gone behind his back with Michael, and he never would have sacrificed his daughter for Carly. I hated everything about “nuDrew,” and it was escalated by him being with Carly whom I detest.
When he and Nina started their hate/attraction, his character got interesting to me. Once they got him out of Carly’s orbit he went up a notch. And I thought that pairing him with Nina would be great; they had chemistry, looked good together, and watching Carly, Michael, and Willow’s head explode would be a great perk. But now I get to see that when Carly and Michael find out about “the kiss.” And Nina finds out about Drew/Willow, Willow finds out about Drew/Nina. Lots of betrayal. My wish for this story is the aforementioned explosion of Carly and Michael, and that it brings Nina and Willow closer when they find out that Drew was getting with them both. Lots of soapy betrayal…
Violet…I agree…it is terrible. But…I kinda like that new game show on the Game Show Network called Beat The Bridge. Not because that Cameron Mathison guy is hosting it. I watch it because the contestants seem like genuinely nice people…and the show is full of fun pop culture and trivia. Just saying.
Hi, I just could not get interested in that show and its like you said, it’s not because of C.M, all that jumping around bored me, maybe I’ll try again, but aside am not interested in watching them play house with mother and daughter, if that’s what they are planning.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

General Hospital Fan Club Weekend brought out many of your favorites to the four day event; with the main cast gathering on Saturday, August 1. Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
