"Castle's" One Life to Lose episode – Preview Photo Gallery!

Courtesy/ABC

In a very special homage to Nathan Fillion’s beginnings as Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live, his hit primetime series Castle has written and produced a very soapalicious episode.  As we previously announced at On-Air On-Soaps the episode title is One Life to Lose!

The set up is that Castle and Beckett will deal with a murder that was committed on the set of fictional soap opera Temptation Lane.  Apparently, the head scribe has been murdered! During their investigation, Castle and Beckett discover that behind the scenes of a soap is just as wild and wholly as the faux soap itself.  The stellar cast list includes: Former Y&R and GH star, Corbin Bernsen, All My Children’s Rebecca Budig and Cameron Mathison, and Jane Seymour, known best for her work in Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.

Here is a bit more of what we do know: Bernsen plays Lance Buchanan, a rugged self-assured veteran actor on Temptation Lane. Budig is Mandy Branson the gorgeous young diva lead actress and Mathison plays Vince Bowers, director of “TL”.  And, Jane Seymour is the mother of the murder victim.

Castle’s One Life to Lose soap spectacular will air Monday night March 21st at 10PM on ABC.  Now you can view the preview photo gallery from the episode below. Remember, to see more pics in the slideshow hit the NEXT GROUP button to the right of the + symbol, or just let the slideshow play itself.

I’m really excited for the soap-themed episode of Castle, but I think they should have included at least one OLTL star in the episode.

too bad there’s no OLTL actors in the episode…the addition of Mathison and Budig make me want to skip my fav show 🙁

The episode is called One Life to Lose. Nathan Fillion was on One Life to Live. Yet, not a single actor from One Life to Live is featured on this Castle episode. Did Brian Frons cast this episode???????

What a wasted opportunity. Robin strasser should have been the jane seymore role. And why not give erika slezak a role. Its het 40th anniversary. I dont want to tune. I cant stand ryan or greenky. Too overexposed and not enough talent.

When I heard about this special soap themed episode, I was so
excited to see who would be on it. I thought for sure since Nathan
was from OLTL, they would include OLTL actors on the episode.
Well, then I heard who was going to be on it and I thought oh no,
not one OLTL actor! To me, this is just wrong! Of all the actors
on OLTL surely some should have been cast! I was very
disappointed to see Cameron and Rebecca on this episode.
Corbin Bernsen is fine. Yes, I ‘ll still watch this episode of
Castle. I haven’t missed one yet! But, it’s so disappointing to
know who is on the show and who they passed by that should have
been on!

I haven’t seen it, but I would be more inclined to if they put some of the great ATWT actors on.How about Van Hansis, Liz Hubbard, Larry Bryggman , Trent Dawson,Eileen Fulton, Don Hastings….these are actors who really know how to act!

I’m so glad that Rebecca Budig is in this episode of Castle because I have always thought that she should be seen on primetime shows more often. She’s way too good to be stuck on daytime only. As for Cameron, I like him and don’t mind that he’s on the episode. In fact, I don’t care one way or the other that they didn’t use any actors form OLTL. I’m just excited to see what looks to be quite a funny parody of soaps. And from the looks of the previews, this episode is going to be very entertaining. I, for one, can’t wait to see it! I hope that it leads to more primetime gigs for Rebecca. She’s a natural!

I was first excited when I heard about the plot but when I heard that Mathison and Budig were chosen to appear, I lost interest.

Cady McClain Remembers ‘All My Children’ On Its 50th Anniversary Sharing: “I Will Always Be Grateful For the Experience, and For The Lifelong Relationship With All The Fans”

The beloved All My Children first aired on January 5th, 1970 on ABC and ran on the network until it was canceled back in September of 2013.  The next year, the show received a short-lived reboot online via Prospect Park.

One of the actresses to appear in both the network and online version was Daytime Emmy winning actress Cady McClain, who became soap-famous for her role as Dixie Cooney Martin and together with Michael E. Knight, became one of soaps all-time popular duos as Tad and Dixie.

While so many miss All My Children every single day and the indelible characters created by the late, great Agnes Nixon, McClain took to her Instagram on Sunday to relate what the soap opera meant to her in her life.

Here is what Cady shared along with a cover of Soap Opera Digest featuring Michael Knight and herself as Tad and Dixie: “Today I am celebrating the 50th Anniversary of “All My Children”! I started on the show when I had just turned 19 in the fall of 1988. I worked as a contract player thru 1996. I was back in the fall of 1997 again under contract and worked through 2001. That’s roughly 13 years. Then I came back for a year in 2006, then for a couple months in 2012. Then I did the internet version for six weeks and then… the show was done.

Greek Soap Star Andreas Georgiou To Appear On The Bold and the Beautiful

For many years this show and the people on it were like family to me. The makeup artists as much mom’s as my own mom to me at times. And thanks to the work I was able to afford some art school and college as well. I saw many great shows (both American and International) that came to NYC, which opened my eyes to what performance could be. It allowed me to do a lot of Off-Broadway theater and roles in five Indie films while working my day job.

I was nominated three times and won my first Emmy. I made some lifelong friends like Michael E. Knight, James Patrick Stewart, Jill Larson, Penny Bergman, Julia Barr, Lonnie Quinn and many others both in front of and behind the scenes. And most importantly, I was able to take care of my wild but wonderful mother. ‘She who drove me nuts’ but impressed on me the importance of having art in ones life. Who read me poems and took me to museums. My child who died but who I so grateful to have known. Thank you ABC and all the producers and writers who supported me and my work. Because of your support my life was richer, broader, more interesting. I will always be grateful for the experience …. and for the lifelong relationship with all the fans! Massive shout out to the daytime fans who continue to support me in my projects. When I meet one of you on the street I am truly grateful for your time and that we got to share some really special moments together. . .”

Kelly Ripa Reveals How Her Son Chose NYU Due To The Consuelos Connection To Former Soap EP/ Director, Chris Goutman

Last week on an episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, the former star of All My Children, Kelly Ripa (Ex-Hayley) told Ryan Seacrest how a chance meeting when her son, Michael was deciding where to go to college; between her, Michael, and Chris Goutman (Ex-Executive Producer As the World Turns and former director, All My Children) changed the course of Michael’s creative and academic path.

Turns out that Goutman is now working over at NYU’s Tisch School for the Arts as an assistant professor and academic director.

During their banter on the talk show, Kelly revealed that Goutman directed the screen-test that landed Mark Consuelos the role of Mateo on All My Children, and thus how Ripa met her real-live enduring lovematch.

Ripa explained that Michael was waiting for a sign as to which college to go to as he liked most of the places he saw.  Then came the sign as Ripa explained to Seacrest: “We’re walking down the hallway and I hear a voice I know say, ‘Consuelos!’ “He turns around and I see Chris Goutman, who was our director at All My Children … I worked with him for 11 years.”

Ripa says Chris then expressed to Michael: “You have to come here, because I am the reason you literally exist.”

Ripa is reportedly also working on a film for the class, as well.  Watch what Kelly shared below.
