McKenna, who first came known to soap fans in his younger days as Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live, tweeted a photo showing just where his next acting gig is located … none other than his old stomping grounds at CBS Television City!
In his clever deja-vu tweet, Chris related: “First day of work on a new gig. “I could swear I’ve been here before. #YR #BB @BandB_CBS #AcrossTheHall”
Just what role Chris will take on, and who he will play in story with is yet to be revealed by the reps at The Bold and the Beautiful, but stay tuned.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

Monday on Entertainment Tonight, the second set of nominations for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced which included the highly-coveted Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actress and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.
ET followed suit after Extra announced the nominees, as previously reported, in the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actor and Outstanding Daytime Talk Host.
Now, five leading ladies of the soaps are vying for the gold for Lead Actress and the category marked the first-ever nominations for CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates when two actresses made the final cut. Only General Hospital is not represented among the actresses this year after Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took home the trophy last year.

Hopefully they will realize what a gem they have in Chris unlike those at Y&R!
WONDERFUL….HE IS A GOOD ACTOR AND THEY NEED NEW FACES DESPERATELY….GOOD LUCK TO CHRIS.
B&B does not need new faces. With Julius and Vivian moving to L.A. the Avants now becoming a mainstay “core” family, and bringing in Sasha to further complicate things, the last thing the show needs is more new faces right now.
I would normally agree with you, Jimmy, EXCEPT that is new face is Chris McKenna…and he is delicious.
Like, when you are pretty full from dinner EXCEPT there is always room for pie…a yummy, perfectly made pie named Chris McKenna 🙂
I would agree with you too but Brooke “needs” a love interest.
I would get excited, but I am sure he will be wasted. He will probably have to be Brooke’s new LUST interest.
I thought that too… Brooke’s new man!!! I would welcome whatever he does!!!
Glad to hear this. I was very disappointed when Y&R let him go. One of the few on there that can act.
Act, schmact…look at that man !
But yes, he can act, too.
New man for Brooke?
God I hope so, this whole Bill, Brooke, Katie re-do is a joke.
Amen!! Please put him with Brooke! This redux crap with Bill is beyond awful!
OMG : lucky B&B
DAYS needed him
bar none; he’s one of the hottest
I AM SO EXCITED. I MET HIM ON FAN DAY AND WAS DEVASTATED WHEN HE LEFT YR. I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT ROLL HE WILL PLAY… WOO HOO
Cloverleaf roll?
French roll?
Kaiser roll?
Maybe he’ll play the ever-popular Parker House Roll!
Sorry, couldn’t resist. 😉
More like “A Ham in a Role”!!
I have no clue as to the attraction of this guy – none whatsoever….
Isn’t freedom of speech wonderful. Didn’t have my glasses on… I know what roll means!!! And I also know it should be role… But thanks for pointing that out… The attraction??? I like his acting and I loved his role on YR. As simple as that!!!
Good to have new characters/actors. Sasha’s beau? I guess we’ll see.
B&B already has way to many cast members and they only seem to use a handful of the cast. I wish the actor all the best and that he does not get put onto a back burner story.
I heard he will be hooked up with one of the Logan girls, Bring back Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) for him lol or give him to Brooke
give him or share him with any one but Heather Tom
Jennifer Gareis is HOT
Heather is hot and I heard it’s her ha ha
Love Heather too she is hot and I heard he is for her
Chris McKenna’s talents were wasted on Y&R, but I’m not sure he’ll fare too well on B&B either. The last thing the show needs right now is more newbies, when there are already cast members who are rarely seen and have little story (Deacon, Quinn, Carter, Donna etc.)
usually I would absolutely agree that the cast has reached its limit & they should just make the call to expand B&B to an hour (wishful thinking lol). However looking at the storylines I can see a new cast member working. The Liam/Steffy/Wyatt/Ivy quad probably has maybe 4months of life left in it, if that because B&B tends to move faster than the other soaps. Caroline’s baby storyline while yes CaRidge are off screen a lot, that will be coming to ahead in the next 4-5months give or take. There will most likely be a lot more real estate & B&B can run more than 2 storylines at once when they cut out the useless filler scenes & commit running multiple storylines. I also think that the writers know that Brooke/Bill/Katie 2.0 isn’t going to run on its own, it needs a fourth party or its just a repeat so an extra person in that storyline could be what shakes it up & gives it that new feel. I guess my point is that they have the Avant storylines set up, The caroline baby storyline is already set up, Quinn getting involved in the quad is already set up. I do think Deacon & Carter need some kind of story & I’m pretty sure that Donna is actually no longer under contract so I wouldn’t be concerned with that character.
New man for Brooke and Katie…I feel a Bill/Brooke/Katie/new guy quadrangle coming. Haha but he would look good with Brooke or Katie!! He is gorgeous!!!! Can’t wait for this!!!
Wow, that’s wonderful news, I hope they pair him with Brooke Logan. Brooke needs a new man in her life. Chris is a wonderful actor and hot too LOL.
happy for him but boy did Y&R waste him. I thought he had massive potential of being a big star. He can act better than a lot of the other newbies at Y&R. making him a killer of dayplayers that nobody cared about was so stupid
Congratulations to Chris. I loved him as young Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live and he did a terrific job as Detective Harding on Y&R. It’s great to see what a handsome man he has grown into. I was very sorry to see him go. The GCPD is in desperate need of staff. I hope his new gig uses him properly and keeps him around a long time.
Well said. Agree with all. If B&B has too many characters, I hope they shed a couple boring ones and write interesting stories for Chris McKenna. He can act and is pretty charismatic 🙂
THERE IS A GOD!!!
Yeah, James…MOST DEFINITELY!!!!! I (for one) am so looking forward to seeing what Chris McKenna himself B-R-I-N-G-S to the B&B table!!!!! TOTALLY!!!!!!
Take care, bro. Peace.
Great news! He is so damn hot, Y&R was stupid for letting him go and killing off Harding. Kevin and Harding would have been FIRE!
But I hope he is for Brooke, she needs a hot new stud! I will have to actually watch B&B when he is on!
This is awesome he could be whats going to shake up Katie/Bill/Brooke 2.0 I’m absolutely all for it
Great news! I hope B&B doesn’t waste him like Y&R/Pratt did.
bring back Nick (Jack wagner) for Brooke or katie or even Quinn conflict. He and Brooke have this poor kid together (sort of) who has no mom..seems like a lot of already story there…also soras kid so he and a returned RJ have conflict.
It does seem interesting that Nick Marine hasn’t been brought back. Katie was involved with him years ago and he would definitely be a formidable rival for Bill. And they could age Jack and mine PLENTY of story!!!!!
Great idea. This he was very likable on Y&R. That being said, B&B’s writers seem to be able to write one story at a time. He’ll make an entrance an engage with his story characters and they he’ll disappear until it’s that story’s turn again. Can be very boring.
Yeah, once you have been employed for stud service (for Brooke), you are pretty much put to pasture. Say, speaking of those characters that have bedded Brooke, where is Oliver these days? Another FINE wasted actor and character.
McKenna was one of the very few enjoyable parts of Y&R in 14-15.
Harding was a entertaining beleiveable cop who got thrown under the bus in that Marco farce so JFP could rush her golden boy, Dullan, into Harding’s role as Paul’s lead cop. The problem is Dullan is a boring unrealistic cop.
B&B has been horrible since mid 2015. The writing is worse than ever the show’s back to being cartoonish. I just hope and pray McKenna isn’t wasted into any of these kiddie triangles. Liam/Steffy/Wyatt/Ivy is just flat out bad while Nicole/Zende/Sasha is just boring. The best place for McKenna’s character would a pairing with Brooke or Katie and butting heads with Diamont’s character Bill.
Newmanwins…the bottom line here is that Dylan aka Dullan is BORING, PERIOD!!!!! Y-e-p.
I am soooo happy to read this. He is such a great actor and Y & R made one big mistake in letting him go. I was actually hoping they would play the old twin brother and bring him back to Y & R. The stories they could have had with him & Abby & even Marissa. I’m glad to see that B & B know what a great actor he is. Watch out Ridge you have some competition with him in the picture for that matter so does Bill.
I recall his first episode on OLTL. I believe he was brought on as a slightly SORAS’d Joey with a newly recast Kevin and Jessica. I remember them coming home to Llanview with Clint and Viki being in a wheelchair. Anyone else recall that?
Didn’t he play Joey when Ryan Philippe (sp) was playing Billy Douglas?
Eww, can we just have Brooke NOT taint one of the males on this show?? For ONCE I would love it if a man looked her up and down and said “NOPE.” He deserves better than to be one more notch on her bedpost.
RIGHT ON, Ashleigh!!!!! I hope and pray to G-O-D that TPTB of B&B do N-O-T put that RUGGEDLY DREAMY Chris McKenna (onscreen-wise and everything) with Katherine Kelly Lang’s Brooke!!!!! N-O!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take care, Ashleigh. Peace.
Oh Ashleigh I couldn’t agree more. She is as bad as Bill very self centered in their worlds. However if he is for Katie I hope Chris’s character is and treats her like gold.
He is probably going to play a small role as a Doctor who finds out Liam has a blood clot on his brain. I mean he threw Winsor Harmon away and now it seams Sean Kanan is gone again. Face it we are stuck with triangles and having your brother/sister’s baby on this show.
I love Chris glad he is back. I just hope his character isn’t for Brooke.
Not it’s for katie
Awesome! Hope he treats her like a Queen. Brooke and Bill deserve each other.
Thank you Dawn D for your post I hope it’s true
