Colton Underwood Revealed As The Next ‘Bachelor’ For Season 23

So, here’s a twist.  Colton Underwood, who came in fourth during Becca Kufrin’s season as The Bachelorette has been named “The Bachelor” for the series upcoming new season.   The announcement was made on Tuesday’s morning edition of ABC’s Good Morning America.

Underwood, who publicly admitted he was still a virgin, while competing for Kufrin’s heart also dropped another bombshell during the season in that he casually dated former Bachelor contestant (and Kufrin’s good friend, no less) Tia Booth before signing on to the show.

Colton and Tia, who were both on Bachelor In Paradise had reconnected on the summer series, but broke up on last night’s episode.   He told Booth, “I just wanted us to work so band, and it’s just not there. You deserve somebody that’s going to be crazy about you every single day.”

A former NFL football player, Underwood told Michael Strahan (co-anchor, GMA)  on his first interview since becoming the new “Bachelor” where he is at with Tia now: “We are finally on the same page for the first time in our relationship and we are just good friends.”   Underwood is also famous for once dating Olympic gymnast, Aly Raisman.

“Bachelor Nation” seemed mightily behind Jason Tartick or Blake Hortsmann becoming the next “Bachelor” after both their hearts were broken by Kufrin by the end of The Bachelorette.  The men came in third and second, respectively.

Now, it’s Underwood’s turn to hand out the roses.  Reaction on social media has been mixed to the producers choice of Colton for the next ‘Bachelor’.

The new series leasing man says about his first two experiences in the franchise: “I think that’s one thing that I took pride in on both seasons, being true to who I am.  I think it took all of that to get to where I am now.”

Look for the upcoming season 23 of The Bachelor to air in 2019.

So, what do you think of the pick of Colton Underwood as the next ‘Bachelor’? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.  But first check out his chat this morning on GMA when it was revealed that he will be handing out the next final rose.

I don’t watch the show but I wonder: do they ever get a really intelligent guy with good hair? Haven’t seen one yet.

Colton deserves a break….this bs with Tia was all her doing. She interfered in his r/s with Becca over what???? Then she comes to Paradise to once again try to convince him it’s her he wants. The only reason he should not be on these shows is because he is too nice a guy to tell her to get lost……in those words. Maybe as the Bachelor he will be good.

Tyra Banks Exiting ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Yesterday, Tyra Banks dropped a bombshell when speaking with a reporter from TMZ, while out for a stroll.

Banks shared that she’s not going to be returning as host of Dancing with the Stars, and has decided to focus on the business and entrepreneurial side of her career, plus producing behind the scenes entertainment projects.

This morning on Friday, Banks confirmed the news to Deadline.

Tyra had joined DTWTS in season 29 when she replaced longtime host, Tom Bergeron. She also became an executive producer of the reality-ballroom dance competition.

Last season, DWTS streamed exclusively on Disney Plus, and was taken off the ABC network.  During the last season, Tyra co-hosted the show with Alfonso Ribeiro, although she still presided over the ballroom competition.

Thus far, there has been no news of the next season of the series, although it’s expected to return.  In addition to Banks, dancer Mark Ballas along with the previously announced departure of dancer Cheryl Burke, leave the show with some shoes to fill.

Check out Tyra’s chat with TMZ below.
