Connie Britton Poised To Exit Season 5 Of Nashville Early!

Although today brought good news to Nashville fans, TV Line revealed that series star Connie Britton (Rayna James) will be having a reduced number of episodes, and will exit the show following show number 10 out of 22.  And, there is no word yet on how Britton would be written-out.

However, it should be noted that there is still an on-going negotiation with Britton and her reps with the Nashville producers as to how long her commitment will actually be now that the show has moved to its new cable home, CMT.

While Britton looks to be making an early exit, Hayden Panettiere will indeed be staying on through all 22 episodes along with the rest of the original cast including: Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella and Chris Carmack.

What do you think of Nashville-less Rayna James and Britton? Share your thoughts below!

I say leave on a high note, literally. NASHVILLE without Rayna & Connie Britton will resemble a “90210” episode with music thrown in. The only other reason to watch might be to see Gunnar and his ever-changing hairstyles. He is majorly cute.

Ouch, she makes the show, without her it will not be the same, though the show has an awesome cast!

No no, we need Connie in all 22 episodes, please bring her back full time. Connie is a terrific actress, and I love her character.

Ricardo…they WANT her on all episodes. Sadly, she’s the one that wants out.

‘When you have an A-LIST tv star in the mix, it’s bound to happen..She will not get paid nowhere close to what she will have been paid by ABC.

She is NASHVILLE with a great supporting cast..i will still watch the show until it’s completion, but losing her is sucks and the show will never be the same..That said, if she goes elsewhere, I will fallow her to another show..She is an amazing actor. An emmy win will sure fallow her!

This makes NO sense. She is the star of the show.

Why “fight” a cancellation by ABC and move to a new network if the main actress isn’t even going to appear for the entire season?? The show barely squeaked by in being renewed for a 4th season, gets the ax from ABC thereafter, and miraculously finds yet another network only to have the main actress work “part time”??

CMT should cut their losses and cancel the damn thing!

The show has centered around her since the beginning. How do you do it without her?

Good luck to those who have to try and make that work.

I was thinking about this…if they don’t write her permanently out…and she scatters the ten episodes…she can still be a presence on the show in some way and IF it survives the first 22 episodes maybe she’ll reconside or still make appearances. I remember she didn’t seem too devastated when ABC cancelled it; rather “it was great now on to new things.” Ironically I heard that the actress who plays Layla, Aubrey Shea Peeples, was really active on social media to find Nashville a new home…and then they didn’t ask her back. I like her and her character! Great singer… Read more »

Breaking News

Ex-Nashville and GL’s Hayden Panettiere’s Boyfriend Arrested After Allegedly Punching Her

More upsetting news involving former ABC and CMT’s Nashville star (Ex-Juliette Barnes), Hayden Panettiere.  According to various reports, the actress was punched by her boyfriend Brian Hickerson with a closed fist in an incident that occurred in Wyoming, over the Valentine’s Day weekend.  He was arrested around 2:30am on February 14th.

According to TMZ: the police report said that Hayden revealed that she and Brian were in their bedroom when he started throwing her around and punched her.  The Teton County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a disturbance at a private residence. That caller said an intoxicated male was locked out of the home because he punched his girlfriend in the face.

Pantierre’s face was red and swollen, and she also had a scrape and swelling on her left hand; which she believed came from Hickerson’s watch during the altercation.  Deputies then decided to book Hickerson for domestic battery. He was also hit with a second charge of interfering with a police officer for allegedly refusing to identify himself.

Things looked like they had taken a turn for the better before the incident, noting that the couple moved past another altercation previously from 2019.  That case was dismissed, although he has left red marks on Pantierre’s body, because they could not find a “material witness”.

Hayden and Brian have been dating since 2018.  Daytime fans remember first seeing Hayden as a young Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light.  She played Juliette on Nashville from 2012-2018.

So what do you think about the latest incident involving Hayden? Comment below.

WATCH: Jonathan Jackson + Enation’s New Music Video “The Days Are Evil”

Five-time Daytime Emmy winner from General Hospital, and former Nashville star, Jonathan Jackson (Ex-Lucky, Ex-Avery) has released a new music video for the new single “The Days Are Evil” along with his band Enation.

The music video features shots of Jackson in a very dark incarnation, and the track will also appear on Jackson + Enation’s upcoming album due out later this fall, Ultraviolet Empire.

Jonathan says of the new album: “Our new album, Ultraviolet Empire, is a throwback record. It’s a record we played together live in the studio. Most of the songs are one take -just letting the band play.  It was amazing playing with our co-producer Colin Linden and capturing something so raw and visceral.”

This will be the band’s follow-up to their 2017 album  Anthems for the Apocalypse and their successful 2018 tour in Europe opening for Echo & The Bunnymen,

Check out the music video featuring Jonathan released this week below.

Then, let us know, should Lucky return to Port Charles for the Nurses’ Ball with his band and play a tune off the new album next spring? Will Jonathan come home to GH for a guest appearance? Will you be checking out the new music from him in the coming months? Comment below.

RENEWALS: How to Get Away with Murder, Grey’s Anatomy CANCELLATIONS: Life In Pieces, Star

The last 36 hours have seen some of your favorite primetime dramas renewed and others canceled; several of which feature former or current soap stars.  ABC has renewed for its upcoming sixth season How to Get Away with Murder.  During its fifth season, the series ranked as the No. 1 program in Thursday’s 10 PM slot in key demos: Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34.

How To Get Away With Murder stars Viola Davis as Annalise Keating, a law professor at a prestigious Philadelphia university who, with five of her students, becomes entwined in a murder plot.  The ensemble cast includes: Rome Flynn (Ex-Zende of The Bold and the Beautiful) who plays the key role of Gabriel Maddox.

Also on ABC, Grey’s Anatomy received a two-year renewal for seasons 16 and 17.  For season 16, former Nashville star Chris Carmack (Ex-Will) has been upped to series regular in his role of “Link”.

However, the ensemble CBS comedy Life in Pieces which features Y&R’s Hunter King (Summer) as Clementine was canceled, and will not return after its current fourth season which is currently airing its fifth episode out of thirteen.

Upon learning of the cancellation, King took to her Instagram and shared: “Thank you for bringing me into the Life In Pieces family and for making it such a fun four years. I have so much love and respect for everyone who was involved in this show. Thank you to the amazing cast and crew, and thank you to our amazing leaders Justin Adler, @kaplanaaron , and Jeff Morton . I am forever grateful.”

Finally, Lee Daniels series on Fox, Star, which has been a companion to his hit sudsy Empire, was also canceled after its 3rd season.  Star followed three talented singers – running from their pasts and desperate for a new start – with ambitions of stardom, as they navigate the cutthroat music business.  It has been reported by various outlets that the showrunners will be looking for another home for the series to try to continue it on.

So, happy to learn about HWTGM and ‘Grey’s’ being renewed? What do you think of the cancellations of Life in Pieces and Star? Let us know via the comment section below.
