Wally Kurth and Bradford Anderson To Make Returns To General Hospital!

Two major fan favorites are on their way back for visits on General Hospital. Recurring stars Wally Kurth (Ned) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) are back this fall on the ABC soap opera.
Anderson will appear on the Friday, September 2nd episode, but it’s unclear if it will be for a story arc, or not.

Kurth, who also plays Justin Kiriakis on Days of our Lives, reveals he will be back next month as well in Port Charles.
Wally told SOD: “I’m excited that I get to do both shows. I love being able to do both characters, Ned and Justin.”
So, what stories will Ned and Spinelli find themselves enmeshed in Port Charles? Share your theories in the comment section below!
Spin tells Maxi that Ellie left him just as Maxi and Nate split up over Claudette and she invites Spin and their baby to move in with her-Spin is unaware Ellie left him because she is dieing but Spin finds out and miracle Dr. Finn saves the Trout…Ned is there to help Tracy and Sab locate the latter’s missing baby…at the same time whatshisface found a baby for mommy-wanna-be Nina seemingly unaware its Sabs missing child-ok, made it up-lol
Always the storyteller, Jimmy. Works for me.
Love Wally Kurth and his Ned. I wish GH would write for him and keep him around. He’s a great actor and Ned and his alter ego, Eddie Maine, are always good.
Hopefully Spinelli will save our Maxie from this tragic story and by tragic, I mean sucky, stupid & boring! Please can Nathan, Claudette and that drip Griffin!
For sure, Please! He’s a smart guy, certainly he can think of something to get those three on the road out of town! I’d even welcome a time machine storyline to send them (permanently) back or forward in time. The gentleman that portrays Nathan has such weak acting skills that a dramatic storyline with him in the center of it was doomed from the start.
Lol! these pretty faces Griffin & Nathan are about as exciting as a piece of log. Poor Kirsten stuck in the middle. They need to cut their losses with this group and get Bradford Anderson back permanently!
I don’t know much about either character….well, just the basics.
But, doesn’t Spinelli’s appearance always relate to some kind of issue involving Maxie, Jason/Sam or Sonny?
Three choices: look into the Claudette/Nathan/Griffin triangle; best man for Jason?; or investigating Nelle—as per Sonny’s orders.
Ned? Visits his mother? Too obvious.
Cee, dont scratch your head too hard, Spinelli is a goof that should have come and gone like Natalie on Y&R and Ned is awesome but they roll him in and out like Scorpio and leave us wanting more. Its stunt casting, is all!
Hi, Timmmy,
Thanks for the heads up. I don’t mind seeing Spinelli….he’s nerdy, but strangely funny. I can tolerate him. Actually, I like him. And, I like him with Maxie. But, you know more than I….as far as stunt casting.
So, I will follow your lead and not belabor his ‘homecoming’.
Ned is just a pleasant character to me. Nothing less, nothing more.
AW, HELL YEAH, Tim!!!!! Spinelli HAS ALWAYS annoyed me…PERIOD!!!!!
Spinelli has been written less hyper, the character has calmed down.
I Like Spin, he is different, and that is a good thing..
A lot of us LOVE Spinelli CeeCee and he was a very central character for years. I think he came to Port Charles ten years ago. He was always a computer genius/nerd…and arrived as a quirky character who we were all kinda amused by but not invested in and then bam! Many of us fell in love with this kid in-his-own- world! He was dragged into doing work for a criminal Alcazar (a really popular character too…played by Ted King who also played Tomas (Tea’s husband on OLTL). Anyway, Spinelli eventually tried to get away from the danger but was brought back by Jason who needed his computer skills…lots of stuff happened with Spinelli and others…too much to get into but basically he was distant and hid behind his intelligence…eventually he was warm and caring, loyal…just hilarious and lovable. He became good friends with Georgie, Maxie’s sister, but didn’t know she Was in love with him until it was too late; she was killed. He was friends with Lulu and I think, if I remember correctly he fell in love with her but she just loved him as a friend. Then, he and Maxie grew very close and fell in love…they had the cutest most unexpected relationship and were great together. They got engaged and then Maxie felypt she wasn’t ready and told him, at the alter, she couldn’t marry him. They did however remain a couple for a long time…
While all this was happening Jadon took Spinelli under his wing and Spinelli moved in with him. He became Jason’s right-hand man…doing all the under cover computer work whenever there was info Sonny and Jason needed against an enemy. Jason loved Spinelli like a kid brother and Spinelli idolized Jason. I zlOVE Spinelli…he beings warmth, intelligence with a zany, funny, unique spin…none of the characters could find anyone more humble or loyal.
As a side note he’s in a real band called Port Chuck with Brandon Barash (Johnny), Steve Burton (ex Jason) and Steve Reeves (ex Dr. Steven Weber, Heather’s son, Luz’s half brother, Olivia’s ex boyfriend)
As for Ned, I think everyone loves Ned. He started out as a gorgeous “ladies man”. I remember filling you in way back when we first got friendly…he used to be a tennis instructor. He and Monica,,,many, many years ago, met and had an affair. They didn’t know who the other was a Quartermaine at the time. That was a good story…sigh…how I miss those Quartermaine days.nthere were so many of them and it was a great soap family…always funny and scandalous.
Ned returned to the Q’s and instead of following in his grandfather (the patriarch of the Q’s) footsteps he wanted to be a rock star…and he did and went by the name of Eddie Maine. He married Lois, a Brooklyn chick, complete with accent that makes Olivia, by comparison, sound like an aristocrat, lol, but she was great. And gorgeous, (1993-1997) played by Rena Sofer (Quinn). Wally Kurth and Rena got married in real life but divorced after 2 years (I think they
have a child).
Ned was always rather voice of reason and a grounding force. Years later if you recall I once explained, he a sad Alexus fell in love and were engaged but she backed out.
Love Ned!
As usual allow me a primal SCREAM for the misspellings! Jason not Jadon…and Alexis not sad Alexis
CeeCee…I wrote two replies to you regarding Ned and Spinelli…not sure if you saw them because I put it under a different “reply” by mistake but it’s under your thread.
Yes, Rebecca. Thank you. I just got around reading my mail; after a much needed breather…..Vineyard time.
At least the island is quiet, now!!!! Well, except for our passel of kids….nephews, nieces….sometimes I lose count, LOL.
I think I have a better understanding of Spinelli…. thank you. I can identify with this guy….in his nerdy-kind- of-way. I was alays called a book worm and too old for my age….so, I can relate.
I wish he could stay on….we need that kind of distraction here and there. Too many mundane stories going around in circles. But, as I always say….I am drawn to the bubbly drama, despite the fact that some ( such as the Claudette debacle ), “ain’t” so appealing.
‘Ned’, I love as well….but, he’ll always be a Kiriakis to me. LOL.
Vineyard time sounds good…and passels of kids do too! In a world full of negativity…innocence is still the epitome of joy.
“Spinelli” was on contract for a long time; he chose to leave so it’s great that he makes these sporadic appearances. As for Wally Kurth, I’m catching a few of the remaining soaps (usually when an actor I like from another show heads over to it, etc) so I’ve only seen Wally once or twice in his other role. Lol; too weird. We KNOW it’s the same actor yet while obvious, it’s still amazing how we, as viewers, can suspend our disbelief to watch them as two separate characters on two different shows and still get into it. Power of the imagination…
Ned….to hopefully escort Olivia out of PC……& Spinelli….to just Go AWAY!!!
I still say Wally needs to be back full time as Ned. Always liked that character. Also would like to see Spinelli around all the time too. That character is always fun to watch.
Yea!! Hope Wally stays for awhile with a good story.
I wish they had a real story for Spinelli this time too. He could work for the police department instead for thugs, maybe that way they could actually solve a crime.
I enjoy seeing them pop in whenever.
So do I.
Always a good time when I can see Wally Kurth on GH–wish he could interact with Tracy more–and more!
I completely agree Nancy!
“VISIT!” Its bullshit! I am tired of legacy stars visiting GH. Put them on contract or continue rolling out the horseshit known as “One Life To Live II.”
Amen speak the truth !
Tim…once again, you PERFECTLY NAILED IT DEAD ON THE HEAD!!!!! Also, I (myself) call it BULLSHIT CASTING!!!!! BEYOND YUCK!!!!!
Later, dude.
Thanks Jay!
hey Timmm..
Wally doesn’t seem to want a contract with either soap
”’Wally told SOD: “I’m excited that I get to do both shows. I love being able to do both characters, Ned and Justin.””’
Norther did Tristan, not until Y&R/CBS gave him a sweet deal he couldn’t walk away from..
Sometime the Vets do not want to be back in under contract.. They like ‘appearances’ it works out better for them..
I can’t believe that–especially the desparity in money. I really believe that Tristan Rogers wanted a contract with GH years ago–just went o Y & R because they did give him one–at that time.
We need more Quartermaines on GH! Welcome back, Ned!
Me too!
There is no way to recast all the Q’s and have them accepted.
At the least, RC, gave us Dillion an active Q ..
And Ned shows up every blue moon..
Ned…TOTALLY!!!!! Spinelli…Whatever. N-e-x-t……….

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
