It’s finally official, (although previously speculated), The Young and the Restless has found their man, even though Genoa City’s Abby (Melissa Ordway) is still searching for hers!

Conner Floyd has joined the cast of the CBS Daytime drama series as the recast Phillip Chancellor IV aka “Chance”.

The part was last played by Donny Boaz who was let-go from the series and last aired back in February of this year.  Look for Floyd to make his on-screen debut later in November.

Currently in story, Chance is presumed dead after Abby received the shocking news that the her husband was killed in the line of duty in a bomb explosion.  A family heirloom was found near the site where he ‘perished’.

However, Abby believes he is still alive and feels it in her gut, and plans to go searching for him.  But, as viewers have seen this week and are about to, Chance’s ‘death’ will take a toll on Abby leading her to medicate on prescription drugs and opening up the storyline of her not taking care of her newborn baby, Dominic.  Problem is, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) is missing the child she carried and gave birth to as the surrogate for Abby and Chance.

As for Floyd, he has previously been seen in Tv and motion pictures including: Malicious Motives, A Kiss on Candy Cane Lane and the upcoming Help Wanted.

About time #yr announced this. We’ve known all along that Conner was taking over the role.

This storyline has been totally ridiculous. While obviously it makes sense to have Chance finally around, I’m still completely irritated that Donny Boaz was let go. I guess we’ll never know the reason; but he was Abby’s best pairing – they had such chemistry, and he was perfect in the role.

I really liked, Donny Boaz, as well. @Y&R should have given @Bonny more of a “chance”. he started on the show November 8, 2019. I think he had a full year. CAUGHT Covid-19, November 2020. AND of course all the off the air hiatus. And , per Wiki, his last scene was February 2021. He was let go, and there was no real explanation… how unfortunate.

the thing is … he looked perfect for the part.. and still dastardly handsome… why do they all have to look like barbie doll ? this new guy is very pretty. I thought Donny was ruggedly handsome.. AND carried himself, on his own. i loved the look of Chance and Abs together. PLUS i saw a resemblance WITH Tricia Cast’ mom Nina. COME ON… Tricia Cast is a lovely woman… and no.. she was not barbie material. just a natural woman. that’s how i saw @Donnie Boaz… they do not have to all look alike… Jeez louise.

okay… rant over

oh, and yes, he acted … ACTED?

Patrick
Right, as usual. I don’t know how you keep all your facts straight. I also loved Donnie, so sexy! I may be old, but I can still look, right?

I SO wanted Danny Boaz to be rehired. Very disappointing Y&R!!!

This storyline is so bad who cares about a chance recast. Melissa ordway has had chemistry with not one person she’s been paired with and don’t even try it with Devon. I can’t believe they are wasting screen time on this. I’ve watched a very long time but this sleep inducing writing just make make me stop

Only partner shes connected with was her real life husband Justin Gaston
Why wasnt he the one to come back as Chance!?
If Abby , Devon and Tessa walked up the Chancellor staircase and never came back down it would be too soon…

Based on this one photo, the actor looks age-appropriate (not nearing 40 like the prior actor) and looks like he could be the son of Phillip III and Nina.

The show will need to give the actor something compelling to do —- Not having to play sounding board to the whining Abby or saddled with this lousy baby plot. The writers need to give Chance more interaction with Nina and less with Abby.

Barbara from Atlanta,
I wonder why you think this grown man needs more time with the mother he grew up with? He’s going to have to deal with whatever issues he returns with, probably PTSD. and getting his wife off drugs, plus getting to know a child that Devon is thinking more and more of as his own and Mariah will be more than willing to grab away the minute she sees he’s being ignored or neglected. I hope this story will be as interesting as Iam making it sound, ha,ha.

Violet. THAT’S interesting. And I agree with poster Damien who responded bring back Emme Rylan and make Abby her own self and not another version of Eileen Davidson’s put upon Ashley from years gone by. The girl’s a spoiled brat daddy’s girl. Always has been. I’m surprised the baby isn’t already at a Swiss pre-school boarding school. To return in three years an angry teen.

Yes to Nina!
What a waste of true talent
Further I’d love to see Jill back more often and maybe have a bored housewife Chloe back into his orbit, shes also a Chancellor character via Esther!
A good Jill/ Chloe/ Nina rivalry in the Chancellor mansion to bring back the glory days there!
Keep Abby behind the hostess stand at Society unless Emme Rylan comes back since shes off GH

Oh Damien, if only! The true halcyon days of Y&R! No offense, but I don’t like this new guy’s look already. But I’ve promised to be more welcoming to recasts, and I LOVE Rory Gibson as nuNoah. How I miss Jill and the catty days and nights at the Chancellor mansion. And this “neglectful mom” Abby storyline is so OVER… we all know where it’s heading: Courtroom #1 at Genoa City Hall.

Could anyone remind me who is it that actually owns the Chancellor mansion? Seems it was perhaps more than one person. I would enjoy seeing Jill return.

For gawdsakes, about time—-
I’ve known that for a while–
The tragedy is; I had/have to watch all the nonsense crying and pity junk going on while knowing Chance was not dead..
It was beyond irritating and FF needed because it was ridiculous to put people through that horrible story..
The baby story is 100% worse than the Music Box story.
And I didn’t believe any story could be worse than that one.

I don’t understand why Y&R let Danny go.

The storyline promised suspense and heartbreak with a happy ending for the holidays. But I didn’t care. Stitch’s return was forced and his kidnapping of Mariah so dumb. Abby should be strong by design and history. It’s just wrongly turning on many levels. I count on these two characters for legacy and for romance and sizzle. Super couple potential. But not yet.

Maybe they should hire a child to play their son, or buy a new blanket for the kid.

Matthew m
OMG, I think the same time every time I see that “thing” they carry around.Do a better job of pretending it’s real, put on a different blanket as you said, anything, because this crap is really distracting.

Chance better get home soon, Abby’s giving his son away!!

I’m so glad for this and glad Donny was booted he was to old and not much of actor and I didn’t care for his take on Chance. Chance will have many things to handle when arriving home. YR needs the matriarch home for a stay…JILL to take control.

Replied earlier today asking who actually inherited he Chancellor mansion. That would allow more thoughts. No comment on the new “Chance.” However, I am terrible with names, truly like his mother being back on stage, think Jill could tie a lot of stories together, got far enough in my thinking to have drawn the present Ashland thing to the present point; still think it could reverse. Would like Jack and Phyllis as friends — no more.

Kind of up in the air regarding all of this. This site is difficult for me to find. However, like the new Chance but don’t feel any “real” connection” with Abbey. Do find a fantastic connection between the Chance/Com duo and hope they succeeded! They have chemistry. It surprised me!

‘General Hospital’s’ Chris McKenna On Jack’s Reaction to Carly Cheating On Him with Valentin: ‘Heartbreak and Absolute Rage and Humiliation’

Published

The stage is set for next week on General Hospital, after yesterday’s May 1 cliffhanger, when Brennan (Chris McKenna) sneaks into Carly’s (Laura Wright) house and heads up to her bedroom, bursts in the door and finds her between the sheets, albeit at that moment alone.

However, Jack is already armed with plenty of ammo, he saw two glasses of wine in Carly’s kitchen, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) already lit the fire, by telling him her mother was seeing someone else, the WSB bureau chief then went to visit Carly’s ex, Sonny (Maurice Benard). The mobster’s reaction pretty much sold Jack that Carly must be sleeping with another man.

As Jack goes to check out the situation to confirm his suspicions, Carly and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) have just hit the sheets, after fighting their attraction once again for each other. Now comes the moment of truth that Carly has been sleeping with Brennan’s sworn enemy, Valentin.

Courtesy/ABC

In a preview of what’s to come, Soap Opera Digest spoke to both Chris McKenna and Laura Wright where they talked about the upcoming scenes.  McKenna expressed, “This has been coming for such a long time.” He also previews, “Brennan comes at her pretty aggressively.”

THREE’S COMPANY

Wright added, “Carly didn’t expect Brennan to walk into her bedroom! He doesn’t have a key. It’s late at night. She thinks she and Valentin are in the clear. She sees that he’s so angry and so worried about being cheated on… but not that he’s sorry for lying to her face or because her daughter is in danger because of him!”

As to how Jack will handle the situation from here and finding out that Carly is with Valentin, McKenna confirms, to expect, “heartbreak and absolute rage and humiliation” from Jack. He’s thinking, ‘This can’t be real. This can’t have happened. I can’t be this stupid. I can’t have been this blind.’ And as to Jack’s current state of mind, coming into the situation, “Jack is drunk and a little unhinged and the audience finally gets a glimpse of what’s going on underneath that rigid exterior.”

Needless to say, the fallout will be huge, and McKenna is proud of the trios work in the scenes, sharing that Laura Wright was a fantastic as ever, and that GH’s executive producer, Frank Valentini was on the set the entire time with Laura, James and him, making this story point play out to its full effect.

So, are you excited to see how what goes down between Brennan, Carly and Valentin and the fallout? Do you think this will cement Carly and Valentin as a couple, or will Carly regret what she’s done to Jack? Weigh-in on how you hope this all plays out via the comment section below.

‘Brilliant Minds’ Officially Canceled After 2 Seasons at NBC; DAYS Alum Al Calderon, OLTL Alum Teddy Sears and Zachary Quinto Among the Cast

Published

By

After languishing on the bubble for months, on Friday, NBC handed down the decision and canceled the medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons.

Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as neurology physician Oliver Wolf, who’s character and the series is inspired by the life and books of neurologist. Oliver Sacks. The series focuses on the medical mysteries of the mind, as Wolf a larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.

The final six episodes of what will now be the end of its second and final season were already set to air beginning on May 27, after being pulled off the network schedule in February as viewership saw a steep decline. Brilliant Minds second season became the lowest-rated drama on linear TV viewing, which didn’t bode well fo a network renewal, although it had its hard core fan base.

There are some exceptional notables in the cast along with the talented Quinto that includes Days of Our Lives alum, Al Calderon (ex-Javi Hernandez) who joined the series in its second season as Nurse Nico Silva, and One Life to Live alum, Teddy Sears (ex-Chad Bennett) who plays Wolf’s love interest and fellow physician, Dr. Josh Nichols.

The rest of the talented cast includes: Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus.

In an ironic twist of fate on Thursday, April 30, Days of Our Lives finally revealed the actor who was Al Calderon’s successor in the role of Javi, when they announced that actor Jacob Martinez had now stepped into the role. Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming new episode, Calderon left in the spring of 2025, but will be seen in the part for the final part this month, and then on June 20, Martinez debuts as Salem’s new Javi.

Taking to his Instagram with a sorrowful and heartfelt post on the Brilliant Minds cancellation was Teddy Sears who wrote, “Thank you, Brilliant Minds. I got the call today and I didn’t want to hear, but I knew that it would come, You have to be a particular vintage to quote Don Henley from memory, but that’s the line that came to mind earlier today after I got off the phone with our inimitable showrunner Michael Grassi who delivered the news that NBC has cancelled the series”.

Sears continued, “To say that I feel sad to be moving on from these stories, this character, and this cast and crew just doesn’t paint the entire picture. I’m sad, sure. But I’m also deeply grateful that I got hired to play this part, so proud of the stories we told, and the other actors I got to play alongside. I’m excited to see what comes next, what adventures await, and terrified to be without a professional home. A quick and heartfelt thank you to everyone, all over the globe, who found us and found themselves in us, in our characters and in our stories. We wouldn’t have been able to tell them without you. And we still have 6 fresh episodes yet to air, and I do hope you tune in enjoy the remainder of the series. They’re the best we’ve done.”

As he wrapped up his sentiments, Sears signed off with, “The more I know, the less I understand. All the things I figured out I have to learn again. I’ve been trying to get down to the heart of the matter. But everything changes…Thank you, Brilliant Minds.”

Calderon took to his Instagram story and simply shared, “Thank You, Brilliant Minds.”

The medical drama was created and executive produced by Michael Grassi alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Jasmine Russ, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra.

In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS).
