I loved Jeanne Cooper in the early days… when, Brenda Dickson, the original Jill, was on. Those were the days… when Jill would haunt, taunt, and mess with Katherine… who was one of the best alcoholics on screen.

As Black History Month comes to a close and with Women’s History Month beginning next week, Sony Pictures Television has released a viral video featuring several of the cast of The Young and the Restless reciting the words of Maya Angelou’s important poem and work, Equality.

Participating in the video are Y&R cast members: Mishael Morgan (Amanda) Jason Thompson (Billy), Jordi Vilasuso (Rey), Bryton James (Devon), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), Brytni Sarpy (Elena), Sean Dominic (Nate), Camryn Grimes (Mariah), Christian LeBlanc (Michael), and Christel Khalil (Lily).

Equality was first published in 1990 and was said to address how black women are seen and treated in the eyes of men, and calls for an end to gender and racial inequality.

Emmanuel Acho Replaces Chris Harrison as Host of ‘The Bachelor’ Finale ‘After the Final Rose’ Special

Former NFL linebacker and Fox Sports analyst and host of the weekly web series Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man, Emmnauel Acho has gotten the nod to replace longtime ‘Bachelor’ franchise host, Chris Harrison, for this season’s ‘After the Final Rose’ special.

On Saturday, in an Instagram post confirming the news, Acho wrote, “I’ve accepted the Rose and am honored to be hosting the @bachelorabc After the Final Rose this year. It’s been a pivotal season, and this episode will hopefully be one of the most storied shows in TV history. Empathy is needed and change is coming. Share the news! I’ll see y’all then!”

Previously, Chris Harrison revealed that he was stepping aside from The Bachelor after he made controversial remarks to Rachel Lindsey during her interview with him on Extra.  At that time, Harrison and Lindsey, who was the first Black Bachelorette in the series history, were discussing current contestant Rachael Kirkconnell’s controversy, which included photos of her attending an antebellum-themed college party in 2018, and allegedly liking and sharing social media posts with the Confederate flag and Qanon conspiracies.  Harrison’s comments seemed to indicate he felt people were passing judgement on Kirkconnell on this time of ‘cancel culture’ in our society.  Those remarks inflamed viewers and Lindsey.  As Bachelor Nation knows this season featured Matt James as the first Black bachelor ever within the franchise.

As for Acho, he will anchor the After the Rose special airing on Monday, March 15, immediately following the season finale of The Bachelor. He will sit down with James as well as the three finalists Kirkconnell, Michelle Young and Bri Springs, which is said to include talon the past racist remarks made by Kirkconnell and Harrison’s exit for the special.

So, what do you think about ABC’s choice to replace Chris Harrison for the ‘After the Final Rose” special?  Has this whole season of ‘The Bachelor’ backfired when it should have been groundbreaking? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
