On-Air On-Soaps has been so impressed and touched by the outpouring of love and hundreds of comments over the last several days  in our last several posts updating you on the condition of our dear friend and colleague, Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) of The Young and the Restless!

Tonight just a few hours ago, Jeanne’s son, Corbin Bernsen made a new updated posting to his facebook page, relating to Jeanne’s fans and friends her current health status while she remains hospitalized.

Corbin stated, “Many have asked for an update on mom’s condition. In short, it remains the same. She is resting, she’s in peace and in no pain. Where it will lead is now fully in God’s hands and we have given over to that, to Him and his plan for her. But she is still with us on this side of the thin fence that separates us from our earthly body and the great mystery and magnificence of the hereafter. Honestly, all I want for her is comfort and to know the abundance of love that surrounds her. She knows of each of you and your prayers. I whispered to her today of the great love and affection you send her way. She is a beacon whose bright light will not easily fade away. She is a boxer who will not easily give up. So we wait for her to do things on her terms… as if it were ever anything but that!”

Please continue to send your love and support, and prayers to Jeanne and her family during this most difficult of times.  We know so many of you have been touched by Jeanne’s performances as Mrs C., and that you feel like she is part of your own family.  Jeanne is that special of a lady to all that have watched her work for 40 years on the number one soap, and for those who have had the honor to know her personally.

Please get better soon. You are in my prayers everyday. I just bought your book and I cannot wait to read it. We all miss you.

Prayers to you and your family!! It almost feels as if we are family cause we are together everyday. God Bless!!! Love to all!!!

Jeanne Cooper is a class act. I recall she befriended a low-powerTV station talk show hostess in Bucyrus Ohio in the 1990s and even came to visit said hostess. I was working in a neighboring town as a newspaper reported and one evening I got a phone call from a local downtown bar and restaurant. Jeanne Cooper was there with her new friend. There was no story to report. I respected that Miss Cooper was there like any other patron, but this being a small town, she graciously posed for a photo of record that would appear on the next day’s front page. I had only a few moments but Miss Cooper was clearly a delight, enjoying friendship and fun more than celebrity and fame. So genuine. We pray for a recovery, of course, and if not, peace for the family, comfort for allof us we were touched by this wonderful woman.

I have been watching the Y and R since 1979. Mrs. C. Has remained an amazing character as she is a person outside of the show. She is beautiful …still ….I am greatful she is not suffering near the end…as we all can only hope for. Unfortunately it is those left behind..who suffer the loss. She is loved as a family member to her long time viewers. To her son, I feel for your pain. This show has brought joy to my life, of which there is not alot right now. I will always remember her saying live each day as if it were your last. Sometimes that’s hard to do, but she certainly has. We love her and it is very difficult watching her illness played on the soap as the world knows she is ill in real life. Take care, prayers are with you. Jill from Whitby, Ontario

Positive thoughts going to Jeanne. XOX

GOD BLESS JEANNE ( MRS C ) AND HER FAMILY, IVE ALWAYS LOVED HER ON Y & R.. SHES AN AMAZING WOMEN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO YOU ALL …..CARMEN R GAGLIARDI

I’ve been watching her as Mrs. C since I was a little girl. She is the very essence of all things we love about soaps; the family connections, a strong woman who overcame obstacles on and off screen. There is no other TV genre where we as soap fans feel that kind of connection. My heart aches for her family, as I know exactly how you feel. Continued prayers for comfort and peace.

I have brought Mrs C into my home everyday for many years. Precious lady, I hope you know how much your fans love and adore you. We are praying for a miracle as we are not ready to let you go. God is in control and when He is ready then Heaven will welcome a very special angel.

Michael-Corbin just posted on FB that Jeanne passed away this morning. Let us all celebrate her glorious life. No longer restless, but AT rest 🙂 .

She has passed. Corbin’s post:

My mother passed away this morning just a short time ago, peaceful with my sister by her side, in her sleep. I was going to visit this afternoon, thought I had time. Reminder to self – time is a precious thing. I too am at peace however. I said my goodbyes several times over during the last few weeks. I’ll go one last time now for a gentle kiss a final farewell for this lifetime. She has been a blaze her entire life, that beacon, that boxer I spoke of earlier. She went the full twelve rounds and by unanimous decision… won! And while her light finally gave into the wind that gives flight to all our journeys, there will always be a glimmer left behind by what she stood for. I will speak about that more in coming days, months I suppose. I will certainly dedicate what remains of my life to continue her purpose of honesty, equality, humility, empathy and love. So many of you have said your prayers for her and right now, today, I can say the best way to honor her is to inhabit your lives with those things she stood for. I would ask that closer friends respectfully give us some time to find our family’s path in this transition, and please limit calls, emails and the rest for a couple of days. As always, your outpouring of love here on this page, is not only welcomed to continue but truly appreciated and comforting. I asked my sister what time she passed exactly, and she told me (not to important for public record) but I was working out and just happened to pick out a song for my final moments on the treadmill – “Everlasting Light” by the Black Keys. Oh what a wonder it all is… what a magnificence!

Sad day.

GOD BLESS YOU! Thank your for the wonderful memories. My your family find peace knowing you are safe in GOD’s arms. You will be missed.

mrs chancellor came to belleville ontario many years ago.i have a t-shirt with her picture on it.also a picture of me and jeanne cooper i will always treasure it the y&r will not be the same with out her she will be sadly missed our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I have watched The Young and the Restless since it began in 1973. I was 17 years old at the time. My mother, 4 sisters and I enjoyed watching the character of Kay Chandler together. We laughed and cried as her character went through the ups and downs of life. I feel like Jean Cooper was a part of my childhood and my life. She reminds me of all the times I shared with my mother and sisters watching the show over the years. My mother has now passed, but I remember how much we enjoyed watching Jeanne Cooper’s magic in developing her character. I will miss her. She was a talented actress and a special individual who brought much joy to her fans. I am saddened by her death. She will be missed! My heart goes out to her family. May they find some solace in knowing how loved their mother was by her fans. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. May God bless them and help them through this difficult time.

Have been watching y&r since first came on, been with MRS.C for 40 years heart is heavy.Sympathy go out to family.

jean copper will be missed on the young and restless. she had away of keeping everyone in line . the gentleman that played her husband murphey will truley miss her.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
