I started watching B&B during Quinn kidnapping Liam. I loved the show’s pacing for being a 30-minute show. Quinn/Eric has been my favorite storyline. I also loved Bill and Brooke getting together (again) last year. But in the past few months, the show has been in a drought.

For two weeks, the only scenes have been involving Bill’s shooting suspects. Also, there has been too much attention given to the return of Hope, who is doing nothing except being someone to be Steffi’s/LIam’s therapist. To say the show has become painful is an understatement. The return of Thomas and Caroline seems anti-climatic and both actors deserve much better.

Sally was an refreshing break from the Spencers and Logans. The character was almost the sole reason to tune in after her arrival. Who wasn’t cheering for her and Thomas to get together. After Pierson Fode left the show, it appeared she would be an obstacle with Steffi/Liam. After the building imploded on Sally and Liam, she became missing in action.

I read Courtney was leaving on another site earlier today and within an hour, there were 400+ comments, overwhelmingly from disappointed and angry fans. A show can not spend the greater part of a year building a character and then dismiss her. The ratings of B&B are at an all-time low. If Bill Bell does not wake up soon, he might being facing the same issue that GH and DOOL has seen during the past few years.

Speaking of DOOL, how about casting Courtney as a new Melanie or a sibling for Sonny?

Another Brad Bell casualty. Boy does he have a short attention span for anybody who isn’t named Brooke, Ridge, Liam, Steffy.

why do the big guys behind these shows always screw up.

seriously lets re hash storlines from the young and restless 30 years ago like who shot jill abbott is now playing who shot bill spencer and btw,,who the hell cares who shot him..

Since the writers have nothing to do except focus on the big four, Liam, Bill, Ridge and Brooke, we are of course left with the minor characters being shuffled around like chess pieces. The Spectra storyline was dead from the beginning because the writers didn’t give it the life and character a chance. They are still scrambling after 4 years because the central figure of the show, Stephanie Forresters death and life was the show, and nothing can or will ever replace that, Brooke , Ridge, their continued chaos of living and working at Forrester Fashions, isn’t enough to run a show, and Eric the other major character on the show being now married to bipolar woman, doesn’t give them much more room for him to do anything except stand in the wings, watching his company crumble. I am bored by Liam, sick of his wife, and his younger brother now in love with his father’s ex wife, Katie is almost word for word from Greek mythology…..the disgraced spouse, now kills the wife and son, then mourns them both……the demise of the show it’s not, but I will take a self imposed hiatus in May thru August, hoping by September they have gotten it right…..I am keeping my fingers crossed..adios …….

I’m really not surprised. I knew that after the episodes of the building explosion, that it was the beginning of the end for the Spectra clan. It seems that the powers that be do this every time they introduce new characters to the show. I’m surprised Wyatt and Quinn lasted as long as they have. Thy did the same thing with the Avante’s. They had a 5 minute story arch with Nicole and Lizzy. Then they had a whirlwind courtship with Nicole and Zende, and then they were suddenly shipped to the Paris offices, and whenever we see Maya and Rick at the house, Lizzy is forever down for a nap. I loved the pairing of Thomas and Sally. I guess they are going to be shipped off to NY to theirhappily ever after, never to be seen or heard from again. Now its time to focus on what I refer to aas the “regulars”. You know a Steffy, Hope, Liam episode is waiting to happen yet again. And what about the big hoopla about bringing back Thorne? He had his 5 minutes of fame for Brooke and Ridge’s wedding and then he seemed to just disappear. If I see Steffy walking around and clutching her stomach with that pathetic look on her face on more time I am going to scream. She really puts it into overdrive in front of Liam. I guess we just have to wait a and see what the future will bring.

This is a big mistake. There was story for the Spectras. Brad just didn’t want to write it.

I do think with Pierson leaving it changed story.

Hopefully they can return in the future.

I do not care for B&B’s way of storytelling. here they had this opportunity to revive the Forrester-Spectra feud and well… It just seems Brad Bell has an idea, quickly executes it, and then finds there is no long-term plan for it. We all know how the quickie relationships and marriages go. And the sudden shifts in story without buildup or suspense. I wonder if it may be time for B&B to do a rest as Brad Bell’s father Bill did with Y&R in the early 1980s. That show did not miss a beat and grew in success. I am weary of the endless bedding and wedding. And stories — Mrs. Logan’s Alzheimer’s, the devotion to the homeless, Brooke’s drinking — the come and go without emotional payoff. I am all for a long term Ridge-Bill contest but the execution falls short of Jack-Victor on Y&R. Maybe because Ridge and Bill are now too similar. As for the Thorne recast, seems it was done without sense of future story. Returns for Brooke but within weeks, he is into Katie or…???

Really sorry to see this actress leave she added spark to a currently sparkless show.

Too bad! I really liked her

This is a real loss for the show. She has a great presence and commanded the screen from day one. I think this situation will turn out well for her as she is so talented and beautiful. I’m certain other opportunities await and that she’ll have a big future. Meanwhile, B&B remains a comic book version of a soap. Between the establishing shots and the flashbacks I think there’s actually only about 10 minutes of new show a day, 8 of which are a rehash of the dialogue from the previous day. This leaves the 2 minutes that I actually watch as I fast forward through each episode. I guess this also means that the rest of the Spectra gang is out of a job. This will leave more space for the 6 or so characters that actually get viable story. It’s too bad, as the show has some tremendous actors who are saddled with laughable dialogue and repetitive scenes. Here’s my take on the other 3 soaps – General Hospital has the best cast in daytime but is sometimes let down by the writing. Days Of Our Lives has the best writing at the moment. Young & The Restless has some great actors but since Mal Young took over the writing it has been lackluster overall with some good individual scenes. Long live the soaps!
