Courtney Hope Announces Her Exit From The Bold and the Beautiful!

Looks like the “Next Gen” Spectra clan won’t be a part of the canvas moving forward on The Bold and the Beautiful.
News today from actress Courtney Hope herself is that she is gone from the CBS Daytime drama series and her role of Sally Spectra. Courtney expressed the news via her Instagram account.
In Hope’s statement, she related: “I’ve been waiting for the right time to say this, but I’ve realized the more I wait the longer it takes me to move on and accept life’s new chapter. Thank you to all the Sally and Spectra fans! Your love and support has meant the world and I will miss you all. Hopefully, Sally can return to ‘Los Angeles Fashion’ soon, but until then… I love you all. It’s been the greatest year, and I will forever be thankful for my time as Sally Spectra. Being blessed to grace your homes and screens with love, light and the pursuit of dreams and truth. It’s been an honor to be apart of @boldandbeautifulcbs , and I am grateful for the memories and friendships made! God apparently has new and bigger plans for me at the moment and I can’t wait to see what those are! Too bad! She was a breath of fresh air! They should never have had Thomas leave…they were a good couple.

I started watching B&B during Quinn kidnapping Liam. I loved the show’s pacing for being a 30-minute show. Quinn/Eric has been my favorite storyline. I also loved Bill and Brooke getting together (again) last year. But in the past few months, the show has been in a drought.
For two weeks, the only scenes have been involving Bill’s shooting suspects. Also, there has been too much attention given to the return of Hope, who is doing nothing except being someone to be Steffi’s/LIam’s therapist. To say the show has become painful is an understatement. The return of Thomas and Caroline seems anti-climatic and both actors deserve much better.
Sally was an refreshing break from the Spencers and Logans. The character was almost the sole reason to tune in after her arrival. Who wasn’t cheering for her and Thomas to get together. After Pierson Fode left the show, it appeared she would be an obstacle with Steffi/Liam. After the building imploded on Sally and Liam, she became missing in action.
I read Courtney was leaving on another site earlier today and within an hour, there were 400+ comments, overwhelmingly from disappointed and angry fans. A show can not spend the greater part of a year building a character and then dismiss her. The ratings of B&B are at an all-time low. If Bill Bell does not wake up soon, he might being facing the same issue that GH and DOOL has seen during the past few years.
Speaking of DOOL, how about casting Courtney as a new Melanie or a sibling for Sonny?

Thomas (Pierson Fode) only came back for the exit of Sally; taking her to NY with him. So, it’s not that he deserved better. It was the sole purpose of his brief return which he agree to do.
It was rumored Courtney was leaving a while ago so it came as no surprise to me; but I agree with you. I would have rather they kept her on. The whole Spectra group was fun from Grams to Saul. Shame… loved her funky, cool character!

They could drop Nicole and keep Sally. Sorry but it doesnt seem as if a Zende recast is coming so she is not needed. Sally could be a love interest for Thorne or even Wyatt! They need more than Hope and Steffy for the younger pack. UGH. Cut CoCo too if this is a budget issue. Just dont copout and make her Bill’s shooter. And let her and Thomas go on the run together!
I hate to say it, but I think Rick, Mya and Thorne could be dropped and we would never miss them because they are never on the show.

And recent word is that the show will not be recasting Zende. So, the actress who plays Nicole may be on her way out too. This makes Zende, Thomas, Sally, Grams, Saul, Darlita and possibly more on the way out or are already gone. I agree, Brad doesn’t know what he’s doing when writing for this show.
It seems like Nicole is dropped. She makes rare appearances.
Sally brought spunk and fun to the show, which is needed.
Sad to see Sally/Courtney go. I had really liked the Spectra story so was sorry to see it fall victim to Diamond Bill. Otherwise B&B ijust seems to be revolving partners and beds, with the same characters.

I quit watching when the Spectra clan returned so now if they get rid of Sheila Carter I may give it another shot.

Boo! B&B what are you doing, Courtney Hope is awesome, she brought a sparkle to the show that was so much needed. A fresh face, someone with so much energy! Day in and day tired of see Liam and Steph in our face, though they are great actors as well. It’s a bit tiring of seeing them daily. Courtney and Fode made an awesome couple together, hot hot hot. Boo to B&B big mistake 🙁

I really loved Courtney’s portrayal of Sally for she seem so natural and I loved her and Pierson Fode aka Thomas together as a couple and wish that Brad Bell would of kept them together for I felt that they made a beautiful couple…This is the issue with Brads writing, he doesn’t keep couples together long enough for us to care about them other than the same story lines over and over and over…B&B needs to be an hour long and add more character’s and explore story lines and let’s keep couples together so we can invest in them as a couple, like the good ole days with super couples which are no more and that’s why soaps along with the lack of great writing are dwindling in viewership.
Pierson Fode chose to leave the show; he wasn’t let go. So, that ruined that great pairing. Loved them together!

Right? That was too quick, the Sally/Liam thing Did Fode decide to up & leave out of the blue? Because the preparation and following story line could’ve been much better

I agree, Mo. If they got someone to fit the bill it definitely would have been worth it. Courtney’s great; and she really brought such a colorful, vibrant energy. I would have liked to have seen her succeed despite Bill. Wonder where her little sister fits in? Is RJ about to lose his lady love, too? Shame…losing a whole crew of characters who are a direct contrast to the Forresters AND the Spencers.
This is really disappointing news. Courtney Hope was perfect as Sally, bringing out the fire and passion in the character. Reviving Spectra Fashions was a brilliant idea, but it seemed like B&B wanted to throw every roadblock possible at the Spectra gang. And when Pierson Fode left, and Sally lost her love interest, her screen time was drastically reduced. I also figured that with Hope back in town, a Sally/Liam pairing was never going to happen, because if Liam decides to leave Steffy, I’m sure that he’ll go back to Hope.
I guess this also means we’ll be bidding Shirley, Saul and Darlita adieu. Neither of the three are as big of a loss as Sally, but I hope they can return one day and truly give Spectra Fashions a rebirth. It seems like B&B has a hard time writing long-term story for Fashion houses the rival Forrester. The Jackie M crew had good story for a few years, but the final few years of their time on B&B was just rehash after rehash, following by drastically reduced screen time until they were all written out.
I liked the Avants..they are gone,I like new Spectras ,now they are gone,I liked Darlita,but this is the Steffy show and the actress is ok,but what,the new young detective will romance someone, then he’s out too.
You are right Joe. What a shame that the show is letting the Spectra gang go. I am SO angry about this. So much talent. Instead the show will remain on and on and on with all the stupid INCEST storylines. I am considering quitting the show over this.

Since the writers have nothing to do except focus on the big four, Liam, Bill, Ridge and Brooke, we are of course left with the minor characters being shuffled around like chess pieces. The Spectra storyline was dead from the beginning because the writers didn’t give it the life and character a chance. They are still scrambling after 4 years because the central figure of the show, Stephanie Forresters death and life was the show, and nothing can or will ever replace that, Brooke , Ridge, their continued chaos of living and working at Forrester Fashions, isn’t enough to run a show, and Eric the other major character on the show being now married to bipolar woman, doesn’t give them much more room for him to do anything except stand in the wings, watching his company crumble. I am bored by Liam, sick of his wife, and his younger brother now in love with his father’s ex wife, Katie is almost word for word from Greek mythology…..the disgraced spouse, now kills the wife and son, then mourns them both……the demise of the show it’s not, but I will take a self imposed hiatus in May thru August, hoping by September they have gotten it right…..I am keeping my fingers crossed..adios …….
I knew as soon as Pierson (Thomas) left the show, she wouldn’t be far behind, which is a shame. I’m sure one of the other soaps will snap her up.
I’m really not surprised. I knew that after the episodes of the building explosion, that it was the beginning of the end for the Spectra clan. It seems that the powers that be do this every time they introduce new characters to the show. I’m surprised Wyatt and Quinn lasted as long as they have. Thy did the same thing with the Avante’s. They had a 5 minute story arch with Nicole and Lizzy. Then they had a whirlwind courtship with Nicole and Zende, and then they were suddenly shipped to the Paris offices, and whenever we see Maya and Rick at the house, Lizzy is forever down for a nap. I loved the pairing of Thomas and Sally. I guess they are going to be shipped off to NY to theirhappily ever after, never to be seen or heard from again. Now its time to focus on what I refer to aas the “regulars”. You know a Steffy, Hope, Liam episode is waiting to happen yet again. And what about the big hoopla about bringing back Thorne? He had his 5 minutes of fame for Brooke and Ridge’s wedding and then he seemed to just disappear. If I see Steffy walking around and clutching her stomach with that pathetic look on her face on more time I am going to scream. She really puts it into overdrive in front of Liam. I guess we just have to wait a and see what the future will bring.

As far as I’m concerned, Brad has clearly LOST his B&B vision!!!!! At this point, it is BEYOND OLD AND EVEN MORE TIRESOME watching Brooke getting married over and over and over and over again!!!!! In general, the absolute PITS!!!!! Beyond sad.

I love Steffys pregnant on the show , just beautiful! And now in real life too! But I agree about Brooke getting married over & over. What about a stable, power couple for once? Brooke & Ridge can be written as happy to know. And be the supporting parents, guiding these messy kids
Brad Bell is killing this show with his repetitive awful triangles. This information was leaked on DC weeks ago and I’m so angry we’re going back to the Liam Hope Steffy crap.
This is a big mistake. There was story for the Spectras. Brad just didn’t want to write it.
I do think with Pierson leaving it changed story.

Loved the Spectra clan!!! Loved the Sally character!! Having them come onboard was I thought one of the BEST moves in a long time!!! Monaco and the fashion show down was awesome!!! Without them the show is dull and boring!!! How many partner swaps can one watch!!! I am SO tired of Liam and Steffy!! And I love them, but even I am BORED by them and their Storyline!!! The end of Spectra could be B and B’s end cause what’s left!!! Wish you luck Courtney Hope: You’ve got TONS of talent and I’ll stay tuned for your next project!!!
I do not care for B&B’s way of storytelling. here they had this opportunity to revive the Forrester-Spectra feud and well… It just seems Brad Bell has an idea, quickly executes it, and then finds there is no long-term plan for it. We all know how the quickie relationships and marriages go. And the sudden shifts in story without buildup or suspense. I wonder if it may be time for B&B to do a rest as Brad Bell’s father Bill did with Y&R in the early 1980s. That show did not miss a beat and grew in success. I am weary of the endless bedding and wedding. And stories — Mrs. Logan’s Alzheimer’s, the devotion to the homeless, Brooke’s drinking — the come and go without emotional payoff. I am all for a long term Ridge-Bill contest but the execution falls short of Jack-Victor on Y&R. Maybe because Ridge and Bill are now too similar. As for the Thorne recast, seems it was done without sense of future story. Returns for Brooke but within weeks, he is into Katie or…???
Very Disappointed in B&B and Brad Bell. Mr. Bell is obsessed with the Liam/Hope/Stephy and Brooke/Ridge/Bill storylines. The character of Sally was a true light at the end of the tunnel, a pleasure to watch and now back to the same old boring stories. The actress playing Hope is no comparison to Kim Mutula who originated the adult role of Hope. Please send this new Hope back to Europe. Hopefully, another soap will recognize the colossal screw up made by Brad Bell and hire Courtney Hope for Y&R, GH or DOOL. I’ve watched B&B since it’s inception and believe 31 years is enough. I’m out! Good luck Courtney Hope, you’re a fantastic actress and you’ll have plenty of work to showcase your talents.

Oh this is really sad news. I was hoping to see her give the Foresters real competition. I really liked her. With everything Steffy did & said to her I wanted to see her with Liam while her company blossomed. So I guess it’s just the recycled crap again Steffy/Hope/Liam and It’s about time for Ridge to get bored with Brook again & find someone else.I’m going to watch till she leaves then take the summer off. Hopefully by the Fall she’ll be back.

Send Hope (boring, boring, boring) back to Europe and keep Sally and the Spectra gang. They are great at lightening up the mood on B&B!!!
This is a real loss for the show. She has a great presence and commanded the screen from day one. I think this situation will turn out well for her as she is so talented and beautiful. I’m certain other opportunities await and that she’ll have a big future. Meanwhile, B&B remains a comic book version of a soap. Between the establishing shots and the flashbacks I think there’s actually only about 10 minutes of new show a day, 8 of which are a rehash of the dialogue from the previous day. This leaves the 2 minutes that I actually watch as I fast forward through each episode. I guess this also means that the rest of the Spectra gang is out of a job. This will leave more space for the 6 or so characters that actually get viable story. It’s too bad, as the show has some tremendous actors who are saddled with laughable dialogue and repetitive scenes. Here’s my take on the other 3 soaps – General Hospital has the best cast in daytime but is sometimes let down by the writing. Days Of Our Lives has the best writing at the moment. Young & The Restless has some great actors but since Mal Young took over the writing it has been lackluster overall with some good individual scenes. Long live the soaps!
i have barely watched the show since stephanie died and thorsten kaye was cast as ridge . the show is dead , gone , finished . i tuned in for the ridge brooke wedding a few weeks ago , this was the last episode i watched and the last episode i am watching . i barely made it through the episode . hearthbreaking to see an other actor playing ridge who is so not ridge physically and personality wise marry brooke . it was torture to sit through but at least i got to watch the last episode of the show , for me it was the last episode . thrilled with days of our lives on nbc , you should give it a chance . tyler christopher has joined the cast of days of our lives and louise sorel is back as vivian and sami will be back too as the actress has confirmed she will be back for another extended run .

Bell junior does not write long term stories! He cant figure out how to do it. He brings characters onnwith hige fan fare and after the forst storynthe character is relegated to guests at fashion shows, holidays and one of Brooke’s weddings. Then gone.
Maya is one. Right before she turned out to be transgender, press was saying shes the new Erica Kane! (Look it up) then this huge story that was smart and pulled at the heart strings and then? Well, she is secondary to her sisters story abt having a baby for her and is now Caroline Ingalls on the show. Clearly Bill felt all transgender characters have to be nice as if cause we are in the LBGTQ community we cant be anything but nice! Believe me, any one of LBGTQ communityncan be angels or devils, saints or bitches, lovely ladies or bastards.

Dang it! I actually removed B & B from my DVR settings a couple of months ago and glad I did. Would love to see this charismatic actress get snapped up by Y & R. As long as she is not a ‘singer’, we have had too many of those clogging up the show and not as someone’s long lost family member. Maybe paired (eventually) with Nick or a much-needed Kevin, or someone to catch Billy’s eye? Just thinking out loud.

Since she’s Chad Duel’s girlfriend in real life I say bring her on to GH! If, unfortunately, Haley Erin leaves to pursue her primetime show, I think Courtney would be a great Kiki! (A bit older than Haley but still in her 20s.)

My sentiments, exactly about all the pregnant, belly rubbing. Steffy, Nelle and Maxi on GH. Seems like its mostly the ones, who have never had babies in real life. Maybe they feel very awkward, with that thing stuck on their stomaches.
I refuse to sit through another round of the Liam/ Hope/ Steffy triangle! That story is played to death!!! Do the writers not have anything else in them? Would love to see her do something on screen with her boyfriend Chad Duell, from GH. I love the Sally character, and thought she added so much to the show. I wish this very talented actress the best!

Sally Spectra 2 was awesome. I loved her and the actress. She was such a nice change of pace from the Spencers and the Forresters. We need some working class people on these shows!

Betcha Grandma Shirley (Patrika Darbo) is Bill’s shooter. She will be off to jail and Sally will leave for New York with Thomas. Saul and Darlita will go along with them to re-start “Spectra” on the East Coast. First I thought Justin was the shooter, but now too obvious. Shirl being the assailant will be a fun ending at least for Patrika.
Just thought of it; Courtney would be PERFECT to play Nina’s long-lost daughter (if they give her one and it’s not KIki.)
Finally, a triangle NOT involving Steffy, Hope, and Liam and B & B fires the most refreshing actress on B & B. Can’t watch yet ANOTHER, Steffy, Hope and Liam triangle. This just makes me SICK! The show found gold with actress Courtney Hope and all of the Sally Spectra gang. They were a great addition to the show. I run a successful Soap Fan Page on FB. Everyone thought that the Spectra gang brought new life and energy to the show. Instead they let Courtney go and bring in DULL Hope. (NOTHING against the actress playing Hope. This is not her fault). The New Hope and Steffi have NO CHEMISTRY what so ever. I loved Sally and Steffi always fighting, such Soap Fun! Instead of a new Spectra storyline, the show is going back to the same INCEST storylines that are old, and boring and even sickening. Brooke sleeping with her brother in law, Katie sleeping with her stepson. ENOUGH already. This is only going to hurt B & B. I hope Courtney joins another Soap where she is appreciated and her talent is used!
I wrote above but I’m hoping they bring her to GH. I think if, unfortunately, Haley Erin leaves her role as Kiki (for her primetime show) that Courtney would be a great replacement. Kind of gives off a more “mature” vibe but they’re both in their 20s. And, (I also hope they don’t go this route) but IF it turns out Kiki is really Nina’s daughter, Courtney would be perfect.

‘Brilliant Minds’ Officially Canceled After 2 Seasons at NBC; DAYS Alum Al Calderon, OLTL Alum Teddy Sears and Zachary Quinto Among the Cast
After languishing on the bubble for months, on Friday, NBC handed down the decision and canceled the medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons.
Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as neurology physician Oliver Wolf, who’s character and the series is inspired by the life and books of neurologist. Oliver Sacks. The series focuses on the medical mysteries of the mind, as Wolf a larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.
The final six episodes of what will now be the end of its second and final season were already set to air beginning on May 27, after being pulled off the network schedule in February as viewership saw a steep decline. Brilliant Minds second season became the lowest-rated drama on linear TV viewing, which didn’t bode well fo a network renewal, although it had its hard core fan base.

There are some exceptional notables in the cast along with the talented Quinto that includes Days of Our Lives alum, Al Calderon (ex-Javi Hernandez) who joined the series in its second season as Nurse Nico Silva, and One Life to Live alum, Teddy Sears (ex-Chad Bennett) who plays Wolf’s love interest and fellow physician, Dr. Josh Nichols.
The rest of the talented cast includes: Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus.
In an ironic twist of fate on Thursday, April 30, Days of Our Lives finally revealed the actor who was Al Calderon’s successor in the role of Javi, when they announced that actor Jacob Martinez had now stepped into the role. Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming new episode, Calderon left in the spring of 2025, but will be seen in the part for the final part this month, and then on June 20, Martinez debuts as Salem’s new Javi.
Taking to his Instagram with a sorrowful and heartfelt post on the Brilliant Minds cancellation was Teddy Sears who wrote, “Thank you, Brilliant Minds. I got the call today and I didn’t want to hear, but I knew that it would come, You have to be a particular vintage to quote Don Henley from memory, but that’s the line that came to mind earlier today after I got off the phone with our inimitable showrunner Michael Grassi who delivered the news that NBC has cancelled the series”.

Sears continued, “To say that I feel sad to be moving on from these stories, this character, and this cast and crew just doesn’t paint the entire picture. I’m sad, sure. But I’m also deeply grateful that I got hired to play this part, so proud of the stories we told, and the other actors I got to play alongside. I’m excited to see what comes next, what adventures await, and terrified to be without a professional home. The medical drama was created and executive produced by Michael Grassi alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Jasmine Russ, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra.

‘General Hospital’s’ Jonathan Bennett Receives 3 ‘Critics Choice Real TV Awards’ Nominations for Hallmark Series, ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’
Many things are coming up roses for Jonathan Bennett! On the heels of the news that he is set to debut this month in the role of Joe Fitzpatrick on General Hospital, who is rumored to be a new love interest for Lucas Jones (Van Hansis), comes the news that Bennett’s reality series, Finding Mr. Christmas has received 3 nomination for the Critics Choice Real TV Awards.
Bennett’s Hallmark Channel series finds itself in tough competition alongside fellow nominees: RuPaul’s Drag Race (MTV), Squid Game: The Challenge (Netflix), Survivor 50 (CBS), Top Chef (Bravo) and The Traitors (Peacock). In addition, Jonathan himself is nominated for Best Show Host and the series participants as the Best Ensemble Cast in an Unscripted Series.
The Critics Choice Association (CCA) revealed the nominees for the eighth annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards on Thursday, which recognize excellence in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms. Winners will be announced online at CriticsChoice.com on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 9:00am PT/12:00pm ET.

Taking to his Instagram to celebrate the nominations, GH’s Bennett, enthused, “3 Critic Choice Nominations! I’m so proud of the FINDING MR CHRISTMAS and to be in the company of all the legends in all these categories is so surreal! Congrats to Hallmark Channel and to our nominated cast and nominated show and everyone who made this magical show possible. This is crazy! This gives FMC 6 Critics Choice nominations in 2 years. Not bad for a little show on Hallmark Channel. What are your thoughts on our show?” Jumping first into the comment thread was one of his new GH co-stars, Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) who expressed, “Yeah buddy!!!🔥🔥”
In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS). Along the way, they develop their skills and a bond with one another. The show, which is available on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Plus, highlights LGBTQ+ representation with openly gay contestants vying to be the next Hallmark star.
It should be noted that Traitors received the most Critics Choice Real TV Award nominations with 6 nods, followed by Dancing with the Stars with 4.
Bennett is very familiar to daytime fans having started his career as JR Chandler on All My Children in 2000-2001, before landing the part of Aaron Samuels in the motion picture, Mean Girls in 2004 starring Lindsay Lohan, which would become his breakout performance.

‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?
On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.
As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.
Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.
BROTHERLY LOVE?
Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”
With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”
BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE
Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”
