David Tom Returns To The Young and the Restless – Watch the Video!

Now that Billy Miller’s final airdate was yesterday on The Young and the Restless as Billy Abbott, now comes the transition back to Billy Abbott’s original portrayer, David Tom! As previously announced, Daytime Emmy winner Tom will return to the CBS soap opera on the upcoming Monday, February 3rd episode!
To usher in his return, the folks at CBS.com put together this little video ditty featuring Tom’s Y&R cast mates Christian LeBlanc (Michael) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) who recall when David was last on the number one soap.
In addition, David’s real-life sister, Heather Tom (Katie) of The Bold and the Beautiful pops into the video to also share in her excitement that her brother will be working right across the hall from her!

It looks like the current run of Lucas Adams (Noah) and Tamara Braun (Sienna) on The Young and the Restless is coming to an end, after the Monday, August 3 edition of the CBS daytime drama revealed that Noah and Sienna are leaving Genoa City and heading back to Los Angeles.
In the storyline, Noah informed his mother, Sharon (Sharon Case) and half-sister Mariah (Camryn Grimes) that he and Sienna made the decision to move back to the West Coast to put distance between themselves and Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). Although Noah did not say it was a permanent move, he did assure his mom that once Matt is hopefully gone from Genoa City they could return.
However, as previewed already on the video teaser for this week’s episodes of Y&R (see below), it appears Noah left Genoa City’s The Shadow Room to be run by a returning Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian). So with that, coupled with today’s episode, it would appear the move could wind up being more permanent.

COMINGS AND GOINGS
Adams made his Y&R debut on November 4, 2025 as the successor to Rory Gibson who last played Noah on-screen in April of 2023. Earlier in 2025, Gibson took over the role of Michael Corinthos on Genera Hospital replacing Chad Duell, who stepped away from the part after 15 years.
Braun who played Adam’s mother on Days of Our Lives when she was Ava Vitali and he was Tripp Dalton, first appeared on Y&R back on October 14, 2025, where we soon learned she had become Noah’s lover as the new character, Sienna Bacall. It should be noted, Adams was on contract with the number #1 soap, while Braun has been on recurring status.
With Josh Griffith now exited as head writer of The Young and the Restless, and the newly announced co-head writing team of Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor having taken his place and starting their new tenure this week, it will be interesting to see how the duo resets the show, and if a Noah and Sienna return is in the cards for the future or not.

Rosie O’Donnell revealed that she plans to head back to a seat at the table of ABC’s morning talk show The View.
The announcement came during Monday’s episode of The Tangle Podcast where she shared she will participate in “in whatever way they want” her or “just as a guest” for its upcoming 30th season.
The View’s season 30 will kick-off this fall in September. O’Donnell explained, “They’re bringing back all the hosts, I think. And, you know, I’m pretty proud of that show, what it’s become and how it really speaks to the people and to politics.”

ROSIE ON HER PREVIOUS GO-ROUNDS ON THE VIEW
As fans of The View know, O’Donnell famously had two different one-year stints on the talk show in 2007 and again in 2014- 2015. She often feuded with then co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck.
However, during her discussion with host, Kyle Ridley on The Tangle Podcast, O’Donnell also noted she often had tense moments with longtime moderator and anchor, Whoopi Goldberg.
O’Donnell also expressed, “Many, many people got the short end of the stick there. It was, you know, it was a factory where people were being churned in and out and their tenuous security, nobody got to be calm. It also was a show at the time that was run by a man. A show created by a woman, for women, about women, and the man was deciding what we should talk about. And that didn’t sit right with me, you know.”
Back in 2023, Brooke Shields had asked Rosie on her podcast, Now What? with Brooke Shields, about how she felt on her two stints at The View and all the controversy that surrounded it. Rosie at that time, stated, “I know this, it’s not the best use of my talent to get in a show where I have to argue and defend basic principles of humanity and kindness. It was not something I’d ever do again.”

General Hospital Fan Club Weekend brought out many of your favorites to the four day event; with the main cast gathering on Saturday, August 1. Fans near and far attended the weekend held this year at the Burbank Marriott Hotel. I have only watched Y & R with Billy Miller playing Billy Abbott, so I have to wait and see before I can make my comments. I just know I love Billy Miller in the role….and am very disappointed with his leaving. Will miss Michael Muhney also. But I shall give David Tom a chance …..back in his Billy Abbott role!!!!
Are you kidding me why give him a chance he already had one he was replaced by Billy Millar and now that Billy has gone it will never be the same, also with Adam now gone we are not watching to show any more so why dont you join us and let those at the top get the message once and for all its the fans that count, no more for me Im with the one that are boycotting the show
I stand with you Rita! I am not boycotting, because I don’t want Michael Muhney back on the show. He deserves better than Y&R. I stopped watching early Jan, and don’t miss it.

I think boycotting the show over an actor leaving is silly. I love Y and R. I love soaps. I support them both.
Of course, it is your choice but I really don’t get it. The genre is bigger than one actor and I, for one, think the genre has taken a big enough “hit” from talk shows, cruddy daytime execs etc. Let’s show it some LOVE and SUPPORT fans 🙂

Joshua, you really need to keep your 2 cents worth out of the conversation..Evidently, you don’t know what excellent acting consists of. The only way to save this ridiculous soap is to beg Adam to return (and I mean Michael and not some off the wall replacement). I think everyone now realizes what a HUGE mistake it was firing the most popular star on the show. As for Billy Abbott, who really cares, but Michael was awesome in every episode. I guess everyone now can watch some of the casts spending most of their time talking to ghosts. How ridiculous!! To whomever was responsible for getting rid of Adam, I suggest you practice forming your lips to beg the man to return and offer him anything he wants. How stupid to accuse him of such a ludicrous and absurd thing!! You have forever ruined this show!! I am use to Billy Miller been watching Y&R for many many years with my mom, I really miss her she’s gone now 🙁 anyway back to the show Billy kinda looks like my younger brother and I also thought he was a fantastic actor….Adam was always an outcast but in the end he tried to be a better person you have to bring him back he’s an excellent actor and easy on the eyes 🙂
David Tom was a pouty, annoyingly selfish, self-centered Billy Abbott. You can’t erase that from our memory banks by giving him a Billy Miller haircut. I would have preferred the character just be killed off and then we discover that it wasn’t even Adam who killed Delia. Find out it’s Kelly the home-wrecker that he slept with the killed her. Bring Michael Muhney back as Adam, cleared of all guilt and let him live a nice, happy life with Chelsea. He and Jack can go after Victor over the mail order drugs at the same time Nikki gives him the bam-zoom for his poor treatment of Dillon and blackmail of Adam. Come on writers … if it doesn’t make sense to the fans, we find something else to do with our time.

I’m happy to see David Tom again. We’re the same age, and I started watching Y&R in college with Billy, Mac, Raul and Rhianna as the teens. I’ll never forget one cliffhanger when drunken Billy was passed out in the snow while there was a party going on inside. Billy’s relationship with Mac was never as good as it was when David Tom and Ashly Bashioum played them. Plus, I think Jill loves David Tom’s Billy just a little bit more.
This is very reminiscent of the two Janets on All My Children. Kate Collins was great. Robin Mattson became a fan favorite too. Then Kate Collins came back. Two actresses who didn’t look anything alike managed play Janet correctly without imitating each other, if that makes sense.
I am very excited to see David Tom back as Billy. He’s so talented and adorable.
I didn’t see Y&R when David Tom played Billy and this will be a change… we will see if it is a good one… Billy Miller’s shoes are hard ones to fill!
I honestly benn watching this show since birth with my mom and now I’m never missing an episode its the only show i watch that cant miss episodes bedides ellen degeneres two favorite shows ever but one thing I hate is seeing characters leave and someone new playing their roles. No one will play billy better then billy and for Adam and billy leaving its going to be hard. I wish billy could still be played as billy but I understand actors leave for whatever reasons. Still wondering what happened to Jill the show really isn’t the same with out Catherine god bless her soul loved her the show is to me number one best soap ever the only one I watch but I am to say I’m a number one an love the whole cast maybe one day I’ll fly down to watch athe set live! Adam was my favorite character in the young and the restless. I have been faithful to that show for 40 years !!! I can not believe they killed his character !!!! Every day I was looking forward to a part with Adam drama….poor Adam… What is wrong with CBS ???????The other crybabies brats they left on the show will keep it more interesting???? this stinks big time !!!!!
Adam will be back. He will be recast if all we read is accurate. Hard to believe Michael Muhney would ever return.
But, Adam will live to interact with the citizens of Genoa City and reek havoc, spread his special charm and drive story lines once again.

Y&R miscast the Adam character several times before Michael Muhney was cast. I have no doubt it will be miscast once again. Sad. I love so many of the characters, storylines and actors … but I am starting to get fed up with losing so many great actors (Jeanne, Michelle, Michael and Billy, the little girl that played Delia was adorable) and so many marginal characters kept (Fen, Carmine, Kelly, Chloe). I wish they would decide whether they are trying to keep fans or find new ones. I agree with whoever said showing the outside of the houses is cheesy. The first day they appeared, I was intrigued, after all we’d never seen the outside of these houses before. Now, I’m annoyed. The mansions all look so much smaller than my mind had them. And, we see them everyday now … is it cheaper to show a still of the outside of a house than to pay an actor to act? Guess so.
This was a cute video. I loved the expression on Michael’s face when Nikki told him to ‘put the picture back’!
After watching that clip of David Tom, I’m still having trouble picturing him as the adult Billy…and Victoria’s husband. Even though Tom is a year older than Miller, he has even MORE of a baby face than BM.
Oh well, the Villy marriage will probably be ending soon. Maybe he’ll hook up with Chelsea, his other baby-mama. Or Chloe? I liked those two together!

Eileen Davidson is phenomenal. Ridiculously great on Days. If only the writers of Y and R new how to write Ashely as well as Days writes Kristen!!

Shame on you for having Dillian to dye in the show! I can understand if Billy want to move on, but Adam, what happen to a second change & apology ! Adam was a strong actor in the show, he play Avery excellent part in the show agains his acting father Victor! As for as Nickie in the show, her rating as b acting is getting old! Glad you fondly gott rid of Phillis, for awhile or for ever!! I say bring back Adam back with Chestley! I’ve watch Young and Restless for many years! Maybe you need to change the writers! Shame , shame on you, for changing some of your actors! Yes, I love Catherine , very excellent actress ,in her part of Young and Restless! It ‘s time to let her memories go! I cannot believe Adam will no longer be on Y&R, he made the show very exciting, I just loved the part he played. David Tom, woopy, he will never take Billy Millers place. I have watched Y&R since it started but I won’t stop what I’m doing anymore to watch it. I will miss you Adam and the best Billy Abbott ever.
The show will NEVER be the same without Adam! I also like Billy Miller, he was beginning to seem to lose interest in his part but not Adam. PLEASE bring him back!

I saw David Tom on today’s Canadian. He’s no Billy Miller, that’s for sure.
I’m about tired of it.. Ive always liked the show but after they lost Phyllis ( who they will never replace with a believable character for those of who have known her for years, It kind of left a “void” in the show, much like when Shelia Carter left… Certain characters you can’t really “replace” you just have to move on. Now on to these two. Adam in particular was a major player in my opinion as a “villian” particularly once they lost Phyllis. Now that they’ve lost the two “BEST VILLIANS” in day time, they further compounded the problem with the loss of Billy the “bad boy”. A lot of the other characters are great but some of them have grown REALLY old .. Even to me a long time watcher who appreciates longevity. I just am not “feeling” it much any more. I dont see how Sharon and these other characters are going to pick up ALL THAT SLACK by themselves.. It remains to be seen and I usually don’t like to jump the gun and say I dont like an “actor” until they are given a chance but i’m REALLY not feeling this new (old) “BILLY”. Wow .. The first scene I just watched with him , he was REALLy doing some “OVER ACTING”.. The scene was almost like a high school play… Ms Chancellor? They’ve lost a lot this year / too much in my opinion in such a short period of time. I had already “slacked up” on watching, I’m TRYING to keep it within my attention span but again, at this point, I’m just not “feeling it” any longer… Sad after all these years as a loyal watcher.. SOmetimes change is good.. Sometimes it cant be helped, but sometimes too much to fast is a BIG OLE MISTAKE..
hi I love watching y and r when I can get to a tv i’m so glad that david tom is back as billy abbott and I know that heather is too. I also would like it if jerry douglas would come back as john abbott he was also good. again thanks for heather tom davids sister for finding david or however he was found and that he himself was willing to come back to y and r. also please note that I am not a y and r fan but I am an enthusiaste I don’t believe in fans I love david tom as himself not just because he is on y and r I think he would make a good friend dispite what he does.

was an accident and Adam did not know he hit her. He had good reasons not to come forward although
it would have been best. Heck everyone hated him and would not have believed it was not a hit and run.
Watched February 4th episode snowed in sit down took a chance David Tom knocked it out of the park no one can put on the water works like the Tom’s. He slipped into that role again like an old pair of house slippers! Congrats and I promise you his reunion with Jess/Jill will knock it out of the park. For some reason they never played the Billy/Jill with BM in the role. Welcome home David Tom!!!!!
