DAYS Casting Role Of "Meredith"! Who Would You Suggest To Play The Part?

In casting news, NBC’s Days of our Lives is looking for an actress to play a key part in a storyline over multiple episodes.

The role is  “Meredith”, who according to the casting breakdown is said to looking for a 35-38-year-old actress to play the part, and who is described as stunning and fragile with a troubled soul. The show is seeking an experienced actress for this multiple-show principal role.

Meanwhile, Soap Opera Digest brought up an important point; that DAYS did have at one time a character named Meredith (played by Rachel Kimsey) back in 2009 who was a revenge seeking gal and the sister of Rafe’s (Galen Gering) late fiancée Emily.  That Meredith also kidnapped Rafe and held him hostage.  So, could this indeed be the same character?  Or, a completely different one?

Whatever the case, who would you suggest from some of your favorites from daytime or primetime television that would be a good fit for the role of “Meredith”?  Share your thoughts below!

Lindsay Hartley

She has already played Rafe’s sister.

Without a doubt, I would pick Sarah Joy Brown… but I doubt they would bring her back or that she would go back after the way they did her last time. I would also like to see Tamara back, but it seemed fans only liked her as Ava. So outside those, I would like to see Melissa Archer, Rebecca Buding, Alicia Minshew or Terri Conn.

Meant Rebecca Budig, sorry for the typo!

Melissa Archer : to build that fan base…. DAYS rocks

+ she’s HOT

I love Melissa archer. But, I must disagree with you, Patrick. As lovely as Melissa is, she is far from stunning and FRAGILE. MA is more on the voluptuous side….not fragile-looking enough. Lol.
On the other hand, IMO, Elizabeth Hendrickson fits the bill to the letter. What say you?

Any of the above would be great, my favourite pick would be Terri Conn, I’ve missed her since ATWT and OLTL went off the air.

As for Sarah Brown and Tamara Braun, their turns on DAYS haven’t gone very well. Madison James was a poorly conceived character from the beginning, and Taylor Walker had so much potential, but Tamara’s time on the show was plagued by memories of “the scarf” when Natalia Livingston was in the role.

Wow, I had actually forgotten about “the scarf”…. which was a poor writing problem. Sarah was able to do well on GH as both Carly & Claudia, so if they really gave her something to work with she can blow it out of the park. But I can see where she wouldn’t want to come back after — as you said– ill conceived character.

Christina Chambers sounds perfect

Sami recast? Bethany Joy Lenz would be great on this show, but she is a couple years younger…just two though. …doubt she would come back to Daytime though!

Omg Michelle from GL !!!!!!!!!! Yessssssss 100 times yessssssssss Sos to soap gods! Make this happen

Honestly, they should hire Julie Pinson for the part. I know, I know, she played Billie previously but who cares. She is one of the best actresses in the genre and is sorely missed. While they are at it, they need to bring back Billy Warlock (her husband) as Frankie.

I hadn’t thought about Julie but yes, she would be awesome. I was actually hoping she would be Eve and work with Frankie (Billy) but Kassie is a great actress too.

Kelly Sullivan! Kelly can knock anything out of the park…. I can see a great chemistry with her and Rafe…. I do not feel the passion with Jordan and Rafe…she is too blah for me. I like the actress, but the writers need to spice her role up.

Yes, Kelly Sullivan…how i forget her…i said in the past i would like her on DAYS and this role would be perfect for her…Rafe and Jordan are boring, and i agree they need to spice her up…give her an edge!!!

Kelly Sullivan was the first actress that came to mind given the description. DAYS would be smart to sign her to a contract role.

melissa archer or Kelly sullivan to build DAYS fan base…. solidify

I don’t think DAYS needs another actress in that age-range. Right now, Cristell Strause (Jordan) fills the “stunning with a fragile soul” quota. Though I find Jordan (and Ben) to be dull as dishwater, they are more tolerable now that there father has shown up. I digress.

There is no ethnicity of the character listed in this post but I think DAYS could use more diversity on the canvas. Besides Rafe, there are no prominent non-White characters. Seeing Abe or Lorraine every few months as more or less “dayplayers” doesn’t cut it. Nor does it reflect the reality of 2014.

That’s why I *kind* of hated to see Gabi go. I hated the direction they took the character, but with Rafe’s older sister gone and no seemingly plan to bring back Rafe’s brother, I felt having someone in the role of Gabi would have been useful. Wish they would bring back someone as Jonah Carver.

I thought the casting call sounded similar to the Jordan character, too.

Bree Williamson, if she is amenable to returning to daytime. She is stunning, sexy, intelligent and talented. And greatly missed.

Leann Rimes
Would like to see her act.. maybe sing a song with Cassie(Eve) as a duet… Days needs to bring back music.. I miss Gloria Loring..

Melissa Archer…

Kelly Reilly, 37.

Melissa Archer or Bree Williamson…and I don’t even watch the show…but they’re both great actresses and could fit the bill…

I guess I would like to see any alumni from ALL MY CHILDREN so Rebecca Budig or Alicia Minshew would be fine with me. I don’t know if either of them would be available and it would be with the understanding that your key scenes will only be:

1) the fake leaf park

2) Brady’s Pub for breakfast, lunch and dinner

3) The “town square”

4) The Vatican (sorry, that’s the fake leaf park)

5) The Hospital Waiting area (also Hope’s office)

Sorry to be so glib but let’s face it this show needs some new and interesting
sets, doncha think ~

Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian would be great in the role. Lol.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Good one, Sharon.

Vanessa Marcil

I’m ashamed to say, I can’t. remember the actresses name…but the gal who played Marty Brooke on Oltl…the original would be Gold!

Susan Hsakell 😉 Marty Saybrooke ;)) loved her!! AMAZING if she would go to DAYS

Thanks to Google, I think you are referring to Marty Saybrooke whom was originally played by Susan Haskell.

Jessica Leccia

Alicia Minshew does fit the description. I would love to see One Life to Live’s Florencia Lozano on Days!

Bree Williamson

Sidney Penny for sure. She was a troubled soul when she played B.J. Walker on the NBC soap Santa Barbara. She would be excellent

Off topic, but…..I can’t believe tptb are ruining another marriage; another relationship…Sonny and Will. Why? I like these two together.
