Oprah: Where Are They Now? airs at 9PMET/PT on OWN. Will you be checking out Deidre’s segment tonight? What do you think about how Oprah has had many a soap star of late on her series? Watch a sneak peek for tonight’s episode after the jump and then comment below!
I didnt know Deidre Hall was missing…lol…i thought ‘Where They Are Now’ was about tv celebs and news makers, athletes ect., we haven’t heard from or seen in ages…we all know where DH has been including staring on primetimes ‘Our House’ many moons ago…there should be a ‘Where They Are Now’ on this message board once a month featuring former daytime and primetime soap stars from soaps past and present…j.a.t.!!!
hi jimh..
Deidre Hall is missing to me, I have never heard of her so she’s missing lol
su0000, Deidre has had a huge following since 1976. In the early 1980’s, her character was “killed” by the Salem Strangler (a favorite storyline of jimh).
Her fans were in such a frenzy over the “death of Marlena” that they stormed NBC with protests which made the national news! Supposedly, Deidre had to take to phone calls to assure the fans everything would work out…Marlena’s twin sister Sam (Deidre’s real life twin Andrea) was the one murdered by the Salem Strangler!!
Marlena has caused a lot of arguments within my family for many years…most of us like her, including me, but a few can’t stand her!
Deidre received or will receive her star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame this year!
Agreed! I don’t understand how Oprah chooses the celebrities to showcase. Many of them are still working and in the public eye.
@suOOO I know you are kidding but you might want to thank Ms Hall for helping put daytime on the map! Her chemistry with Jed Allen, Wayne Northup & Drake Hogestyn help put super couples on the map in other words she is what made daytime great ! Romance which is what Daytime use to be about she is responsible for helping put love in the afternoon. I salute you Ms. Hall!!!!!
jimh, I believe Marlena was introduced as Mickey’s psychiatrist after Mickey shot Bill when it was revealed that Bill was actually Mike’s father…BTW, in case you didn’t already know, John Amour (Michael Horton #7) recently died just shy of his 55th birthday. He played MH from 1971-1973. I would assume the first several Mike’s were babies.
I saw a tribute to him at Jason47’s Days Website/Facebook
4ever DAYS !
thanks for the info..
I had not heard of/seen Deidre Hall..
Now I know I missed seeing a great soap star..
She sounds awesome!!!
Thanks for the info…i didnt know John passed…sad…and ill be 55 shortly…yes, Marlena started out as Mickeys Psychiatrist!!!
I was loathe to post on this message board but I agree with you @jimh(leave it to beaver)…I too SMH at some of the celebrities featured that managed to stay in your face..but I really watched to see Kathy Kinney from the Drew Carey show who reminds me sooo much of a friend and girl I worked with years ago as servers in Red Lobster who was from Parma Ohio…she was a true MIMI. But it was interesting and a LOL moment when Diedre Hall was on the set of her favorite set..The Brady pub and pointed out that whole big ass hospital set conjoined with the Pub…that was hilarious.
Had to reply here, jimh. I hope you have a happy, healthy 55th birthday and 55 more!
This is dumb Deidre is the most beautiful actress in daytime.
The question should be where is Oprah!
I wish Oprah would have picked someone who is actually missing, like Eileen Fulton, Don Hastings, Kathryn Hays, Barbara Rodell, etc. I was an ATWT fan in case you cannot tell.
Yes, those are the ones she shouldve interviewed and so many others as well!!!
Include the sorely missed Elizabeth Hubbard on your list.
Oh Deidre still around and looking great! I will never forget when she got off an airplane and I was boarding one and tons of fans were there to meet her at the gate. She had on this great outfit and I had no idea what was going on I did a double take and she had this great smile on her face. That was during the Salem strangler storyline. I was a youngster and very mad that I was leaving town and she was in town I believe for a fan event.
Yes, jimh, Michael Fairman should have a “Where Are They Now?”
Speaking of Michaels…Where in the world is Michael Leon (Pete Jannings) and Michael T. Weiss (Mike Horton)?
the segment should be called where is marlenas living room set?! what happened to marlenas living room ? hopes living room? why do days top leading ladies have to have scenes in the brady pub, horton square or a park bench?!
trivial but really lame! sorry , i cant believe marlena and hope dont have a home set but dr dan gets his cheesy apartment! days needs some new sets stat! its so embaressing!
Those that appear on this show, are people that were one time on her talk show…and had some life changing event. If you think more along the lines of “what have they done since” it makes more sense.

Now, five leading ladies of the soaps are vying for the gold for Lead Actress and the category marked the first-ever nominations for CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates when two actresses made the final cut. Only General Hospital is not represented among the actresses this year after Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took home the trophy last year.
