Days Of Our Lives
DAYS Guy Wilson Posts Message: "I do have some very big shoes to fill; Chandler Massey's talent is beyond measure!"

This afternoon, Guy Wilson came forth and confirmed on his official facebook page that he is indeed the new Will Horton of Days of our Lives! The casting secret was revealed the other night by Guy’s new cast mate, Jen Lilley (Theresa) on the Lather Up with Littany Blog Talk Radio series during her interview segment.
Wilson’s post stated, “Yes, I am the new ‘Will Horton’ on “Days of Our Lives”. This is a dream come true for me. But I do have some very big shoes to fill; Chandler Massey’s talent is beyond measure. I’ve always admired Chandler’s work and to now follow in his footsteps is truly an honor. I am so excited to share this adventure with all of you!!!”
It was a very nice overture for Guy to reach out to DAYS fans and share his enthusiasm on taking on the next phase of the character development and storylines of Will Horton!
And now the question that that will be answered over the next several months and in 2014, can fans accept Guy in the role of Will? Time will tell, but he certainly has some very strong acting credentials, and we hear from the people at DAYS, that he is quite a nice guy!
So, what do you think of Guy’s statement about stepping into Chandler’s shoes? Are you excited to know that the character of Will Horton will still be on the canvas and not be written out? Weigh-in!
I am glad they are keeping Will on the canvas, I believe he is considered a legacy character. I seen Guy Wilson’s scenes on YouTube from when he played a gay teenager on a NCIS episode,he was really good. I am willing to give Guy my viewing time. The producers must have seen something in his audition that made him the right choice for the recast.
So excited for Guy’s take on Will
I’m glad that the character of Will is staying in Salem, and Guy certainly has the correct last name: WilSon!
take a deep breath.
cull from your training… your employment…. your job
your intent… is to display… share with the world… a NEW character… it’s not you.. it’s intrigue and alluring to be something outside of yourself… it’s your chosen profession… to canvas..the written word.
You are Will – and Sonny… is your lover… you have a daughter…
’nuff said… it’s not blowing it out of proportion..it is what it is.
the world is prepared for what it is… gay lifestyle… and equating your part of Salem.
big shoes to fill… yeah! ’nuff said… it’s yours now… relax and feed of off Freddie Smith….
it was such a natural story to enliven… it was beholden… it was a treasure… to relish… the unfolding…
you’re simply carrying with…. the cast…
Yeah! I’m very happy. He’s really cute. Can’t wait to see him in January!!
And I hope he has great chemistry with Sonny!!!!
i just hope dool’s fans give him a chance before they start the ridiculous bashing after seeing him on air for a few days……….
i have no problem with him…he will do a good job and ill give him a chance…
There will always be haters, I’ve seen some Chandler fans tweet some nasty, mean-spirited things to Guy. And some of them have also unfollowed Wilson fans who have expressed their support to Guy. So I can imagine what they’ll say once he starts airing in January.
I will wait to pass judgement, but watching his scenes elsewhere, I am hopeful. He is a decent actor. Not sure Will is the right role, but I am glad Will is staying on the canvas too. I will keep an open mind here. Every time GL recasted Blake or Dinah, I was upset, but ended up like each recast better than the last. I am confident that DAYS knows what they are doing, and as I said Guy is a decent actor. Best of luck to both him and Chandler as they embark on their new journeys. Now DAYS, recast Chad and Gabi!
Aren’t they killing off Chad? Think of the horror of the DiMeara family when they realize Chad didn’t want them to know about his health problem. Wonder who they will blame and destroy for that.
I suspect Chad is lying about his tumor to Cameron– we never saw the specialist say he has a tumor. And he seems very evasive about treatments and letting other people know. I think Chad wanted Cameron to believe it so he would back off from Abigail–out respect for his illness. I think Chad is becoming more and more a DiMera everyday– and if I am right and he is lying and is perfectly healthy, then I think they will recast— would love to see Chad challenge EJ for a piece of DiMera empire.
Oooh Mary! I never thought of that! Wow! Now that you’ve said this, I really hope that’s what will happen! Very clever.
The last thing this show needs is a recast of that dead weight known as Gabi. I hope the that fact that Camilla is leaving 7 months earlier then her contract ends is a sign that the show is writing that character out. I pray that they don’t recast that character.
If he can act, he has my support.
I think it’ll take time. Like I said previously, his chemistry better work with Freddie and Alison.
And Bryan and Deidre and James ect..lol
I wish him the best of luck. I’ve seen some clips of his work online and he seems very talented. I love how excited and enthusiastic he is about taking on this tough, beautiful, celebrated, highly important and groundbreaking character. He has the right attitude, and I look forward to seeing what he brings to the role. Chandler leaving leaves a hole, but I feel confident from what I’ve seen that this chap can bring the character to life and do him justice.
I am looking forward to the new Will. I know I should like the character more than I do, but CM has always turned me off. I think it had to do with that sappy, imbecilic grin he pastes on his face all the time.
Isn’t Will supposed to be older than JJ Horton who just turned 18 this week. The new actor looks awfully young in the pix being used. Can he really be taken seriously as a young 20’s gay male? Time will tell.
He’s 27 or 28 in real life I believe. I think many of the pictures circulating are older head shots.
the actor is 28.
Glad to welcome new Will. Hopefully, I’ll enjoy this one better then Chandler’s Will.
Chandler Massey wasn’t THAT great. This guy will have us forgetting who Massey was in just a matter of weeks.
euh..ok..no need to trash one actor to praise another one..eyeroll..both can be really talented and bring their own golden take on the character.
I like GW’s honesty and humility. Hope he does justice to the role of WH. It may take some time but definitely deserves a chance. CM as WH and his chemistry with FS as SK will be greatly missed. Good Luck! to CM in his future endeavors. Hope WilSon retains its magic with FS and GW like it did with FS and CM. Hope FS does not decide to follow his co-star’s footsteps and leave the show. Losing 2 good actors will be hard.
After seeing clips of Guy Wilson…Chandler who?
Oh, I know…Chandler Messy!!!
I’m glad they re-cast the role and I’m sure Guy will do fine, but I’m also sure that he will be torn apart for the first few months.
He does have big Emmy-winning shoes to fill after all, but hopefully he will grow into the role quickly and without too much criticism.
Soap fans can be pretty brutal with re-casts…myself included…so good luck to him.
soap fans can be pretty brutal about everything..sadly.

Franco LoPresti and Sydney Malakeh Makes Their ‘Days of our Lives’ Debuts: What Were Your First Impressions?

Days of our Lives fans were introduced on the Monday, September 14 episode to Dante Vitali in the form of actor Franco LoPresti, and reintroduced to Sydney DiMera as now played by Sydney Malakeh.
The DAYS writers connected the story by having them as major participants in a high stakes poker game in Monte Carlo where Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) with Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) by his side, are trying to win enough money to save Titan Industries and the Kiriakis legacy.
When we first meet Sydney she is in front of a mirror putting on her lipstick as she puts the finishing touches on her look for the evening, when she receives a call from her grandmother, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).

POKER FACE
Later, Sydney shows up at the poker game with Dante Vitali, who introduces himself as Sami Brady’s fiancé. Philip explains that he has his own connections to Sami and would prefer his presence in the game be kept under wraps. Dante tells Philip he does not keep secrets from Sami.
Gabi asked Dante about his connection to Ava Vitali, to which Dante shared that although they shared the same last name, they were not close. Gabi says that’s good because Ava is “bonkers.” Dante did not appreciate Gabi disparaging Ava in that manner.
Philip is shocked that Sydney is such a poker player. Then we get the backstory on how she learned a lot from her grandfather, Roman Brady, and when she went to school, she played poker to beat the mean girls and realized she was quite good at it.
In the end, after throwing one guy out named “Otto”, who was “cheating” in the game, Dante offered two additional hands to Philip with a new deck. Dante asks,“Winner take all?” Philip says, “Works for me.” Eventually, Philip won the hand, but alone with Gabi told her he did not win enough to save Titan.

DID MARLENA GIVE BIRTH TO STEFANO’S SON?
As all this is going down, in Salem, Marlena is wistful worried that there is something she has blocked out in her memories from her time being kidnapped by Stefano. She tells this to a concerned Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes).
Meanwhile, Belle (Martha Madison), Chad (Conner Floyd) and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) have all made it to Italy, and find hidden in a replicate chess set, just like Stefano willed to John and Marlena, a photo of Stefano with a young boy dated 1992 with whom they believe is “Dominic Marino.”
At the end of the episode, Dante shows up to a room with the mystery person wearing Stefano’s ring. He assures the person that no matter how many chips Philip won, he would not be able to save Titan and the Kiriakis mansion. Then, Dante utters, “Well, played, Dom.”
So, what’s going on here? Is Dante a bad guy? Is Sydney a schemer? Did Marlena have Stefano’s son, named Dominic Marino, but blocked the whole thing out for decades? And, what were your first impressions of the highly-anticipated debuts of Franco LoPresti and Sydney Malakeh? Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, in case you missed, check out this week’s promo for Days of our Lives below.

‘Heated Rivalry’ Star Franco LoPresti Opens Up About ‘Days of our Lives’ Debut as Dante Vitali

Next week on Monday, September 14 will mark the first appearance in Salem of Franco LoPresti in his new Days of our Lives role of Dante Vitali.
Heated Rivalry fans now LoPresti very well from his part as hockey player Cliff Marleau in the series first season. (No word yet if Cliff appears in season 2).
Now in a conversation with TV Insider, DAYS fans will learn that LoPresti is on the soap for a limited run. No timetable was given.

When LoPresti does burst onto the scene come Monday, Dante makes quite the impact as Franco LoPresti explains. It seems that viewers will first see him in scenes in Monte Carlo at a poker table with none other than Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). However, Dante will come to Salem to talk to the Brady family about his supposed fiancée Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Franco shared, “Dante was born and grew up in Italy and educated at this pretty top-tier English boarding school. He then went on to build his own dynasty in finance, all the while trying to distance himself from the Vitali name (as viewers know Tamara Braun played his cousin Ava Vitali).”
“But at the core of Dante, there’s definitely an old-school quality to him”, continued LoPresti. “He’s super passionate, he’s sincere and incredibly generous, but he’s also someone that you probably shouldn’t underestimate. Loyalty is something that means a lot to him. As Dante enters Salem, I think the audience will get to slowly peel back those layers and discover what’s really driving him. So, I’m excited for Days fans to go on that ride with Dante.”

As it turns out, LoPresti taped his episodes of DAYS starting back in November 2025 which happened to be weeks before Heated Rivalry became a smash hit.
Franco recalled, “It’s so funny because I thought my episodes would air in a month (on Days of our Lives). But I found out it was nine to 10 months and I was like, ‘I gotta wait that long?!’ So, I’ve been biting my nails, trying not to think about it, and I think it’s actually kind of helped because now it’s here and it’s all coming at me from all different angles. I’m nervous. I’m excited, and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. It’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for sure.”
In his personal life, Franco just had his first child with wife, actress Emily Alatalo, just a weeks ago on August 23rd when they welcomed their daughter, Stella into the world.
So, looking forward to seeing Franco LoPresti’s debut come Monday? What do you think about the fact that it’s being reported as a limited run? Do you think Dante and Sami have a chance on-screen or off-screen to be a happy couple? What do you really think brings Dante to Salem sans Sami?
