Tomorrow on the Friday, November 21st episode of NBC’s Days of our Lives, Molly Burnett finally makes her on-screen re-emergence as trouble-always-seems-to-find-her Melanie Jonas!

Burnett exited the Salem canvas when she made the decision to leave the daytime drama after four years in 2012.  In story, Melanie left for Europe after that disaster of a twisted relationship mess between her, Chad, and Gabi.  Now, Melanie shows up back in Salem!  But, what brings her to town? Clearly, she will get a chance to catch-up with dad, Daniel (Shawn Christian) and little Parker, Grandma Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) and best friend Brady (Eric Martsolf), but there is something more going down!

As we know and has been previewed:  There is a secret that Melanie is harboring, and we have heard the rumors that she also will have a romantic interest in Salem ,,, and she will also have a potential new friend, perhaps  the audience doesn’t know about?  So many questions!

To try to eek out some answers and tease Melanie’s homecoming, On-Air On-Soaps sat down for this video interview with the beloved Burnett to try to get her to spill the beans! You will have to watch to see how we did! One thing is for certain, with an actress as unique and dynamic, if a story that contains both romance and intrigue are written right, Molly will play it for all it’s worth and then some.

Now after the jump, watch On-Air On-Soaps one-on-one interview with Molly Burnett! Then weigh-in: what do you think Melanie’s secret is?  Who will be her love interest?  What do you think of her friend, if that holds true? Are you glad Molly is back on DAYS?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

I’m sooooooo looking forward to the return of Molly/Melanie…Next up…Melissa Archer!!!

Michael you need to wear a sports jacket more often you look very handsome!!!

Haven’t always been into the Melanie character because of who they’ve had her working with (liked her more early on in the Max/Chelsea/Nick orbit) but there’s no denying that Molly Burnett herself is a delight – she has a smile that is infectious. I know the show will be relying on her heavily – best of luck to her this go-around.

She certainly does have an infectious smile-very cute.

puhlease, for the love of god… do not be as saintly as Daniel and Aunt Maggie…. OK… Maggie is FUN… it’s just that an edge is in dire need for this first family of Salem

ugh! LOL

oh, gosh…. puhlease, do not make me go their so often

Daniel and Maggie at the cross persona “non grata”

give Melanie and Serena…. some fire… and bring back Sheryl ( Lucas) let’s get a bevy of red head turn

She looks GOOD w/MF

Not excited about Melanie’s return to Salem. Would like to know about Melanie’s brother.

Welcome back Molly Burnett, I have missed Molly so much. She is a wonderful actress and I love her smile. Very friendly lady. Melanie is a fire cracker, Molly has great chemistry with Suzanne Rogers and Shawn Christian. Molly Burnett is so pretty and she is 26 years old. When Molly decided to leave Days Of Our Lives in 2012, I was devasted. But I am so happy that she is back, where she belongs. Also Melissa Archer cannot wait to see her as Serena.

It will be my first time seeing Mel i cant wait!!!! Loving Days, especially Brady and Theresa and Kristen !! What a show!!!

I am so Happy that Molly is back she is the best

Looking forward to Melanie returning.

On another topic, is Will gone? Are they (please) recasting?

Watched this week’s episodes last night in the background while doing laundry and texting, haha. Hate to say it-but I find the show boring now. I can’t stand Theresa. Eve and JJ keep having the same conversation over and over. Paige is boring. Daniel being the hero has grown old. Jordan has zero chemistry with everyone. I may take a break and tune back in when Eileen Davidson returns next year. I did that a while back. Honestly, I feel the same way about General Hospital…

The pace of Days is very slow. The pace of GH (while still faster than Days) has slowed considerably over the last couple months.

I agree with others that the PACE of Days of our Lives is reeeealllly sloooow….good grief get on with it already.
The character of Paige is about as interesting as a box of Kleenex.
I was cheering JJ on when he finally turned on Eve and shouted “I don’t HAVE to do anything you say!” (or however he phrased it) and I thought, yeah, there you go, time to grow a pair and tell that witch to butt out. That storyline is preposterous anyway, JJ looks like a Drug store Delivery boy and Eve looks like she should be buying a jar of Porcelana not hitting the sheets.
Personally I like the actress who used to play Amanda Dillon on AMC but I have to agree that her character of Jordan on this show is not terribly interesting for some reason.
Overall DAYS is really a good show, they just need to pick it up a little and move it along.

So happy to see Mel back!! If they only could bring back Nathan, I would be thrilled! Then we could finally have the romance between them that should’ve always been. 🙂

I hope Melanie’s love interest is JJ! That would be a perfect fit! JJ likes older women! Jennifer and Daniel are on the outs. This will give Dannifer something else to overcome. It will be great!

My second choice of a love interest for Melanie is Beady! Would love to see Melanie and Theresa go head to head over Brady! Then when Kristen comes back she will have to face two of them! That would be a HOOT!

Either of these story lines would be great! Maybe the writers could even do both! Have a Brady-Melanie-JJ triangle with all of the other aforementioned characters in the wings! Yeah! That would be something!

So happy Melanie is back and is with her soulmate Brady. Honestly, I feel it is up to Eric Martsoff and Molly Burnett to save Days of our Lives! They always had the “it” factor and now with EJ and Sami gone, they will be the next super couple of Days. Lots of drama to come, but with the new writers, I know this couple can stay the course!
